The World Assembly,

Observing the quickening pace of Space Exploration,

- Has been formally recognized as a Nation,
- Invested in extensive programs to colonize or industrialize said lands,
- Has a physical presence in the location, whether by automated means or human colonization

4. Permits the transit of material through outer space, given
- It does not conflict with any current trade routes
- It does not carry any supplies banned within this Assembly

RL references (Earth)

Surely I'm allowed to reference Earth? That's no reference, that's like saying "water" is a reference because water exists in the real world.

EDIT: Eh, not too hard to change it to "world". Anything else I should change for a draft?

I'm not quite sure this thread is entirely fit for purpose. I'm not just picking on Kozmix but rather the many posters who claim illegality but don't accurately refer to the rule broken nor any rule in existence. For example, the most recent post says "spam no clauses". We have no "spam no clauses" rule.

Pardon us. And here I thought mentioning “branding”, or “spam”, or “RW references” was obvious as to the illegality. I stand corrected. I shall endeavor henceforth to write a comprehensive treatise detailing why each illegal clause is illegal.

Or maybe I just won’t fucking bother anymore.

Human Act
A resolution to improve worldwide human and civil rights.

Category: Human Rights

Strength: Strong

Proposed by: American Confederated Union

We may never the needs and values of our people. As many people around have been oppressed one way or another. May we improve the liberties and rights of all people to make for a happier and better world.

This is ... nothing. Strength is not supported by the text.

Proposal Basics: Proposals must be written as laws, not commentaries, editorials, etc.

Strength: This determines the effect a proposal has on a nation's policy. A proposal with mild language or affecting a narrow area of policy is Mild, while one which a very broad area of policy in a dramatic way is Strong. Anything in between is Significant. Some categories don't use strength but rather a specific area, so proposals will need to specify the area of policy affected from a pre-populated list of options. These options do have a statistical effect and strength.

PUNISHING: any WA Member State that may continue to refuse to give citizens the right to leave the nation

Increase civil rights!
A resolution to improve worldwide human and civil rights.
Category: Human Rights - Strength: Strong - Proposed by: Tobostan

We have had enough with dictators oppressing the citizens like their toys! We need to put civil rights up! If you look at Donotcomehere their rights are far below average! Would you live in a state where you couldn't use the toilet because the law does not allow it?

"Let's pass a law stating that ALL nations must have Above Average human and civil rights!"

And Branding and Bumpersticker and Strength and so on, but the math failure was more amusing.

Universal Adoption of Christianity

A resolution to restrict civil freedoms in the interest of moral decency.

Category: Moral Decency

Strength: Strong

Proposed by: Conservative Christian American States

The World Assembly,
CONCERNED about the fact that potentially billions of souls are at risk of damnation due to not following the one true faith
WORRIED that followers of heathen religions may influence others to following their misguided beliefs
UNDERSTANDING that many lifestyles promoted by these beliefs are unnatural and an affront to the Creator

HEREBY
DECLARES that the religion of Christian shall be declared the official religion of the World Assembly
MANDATES that all member nations of the World Assembly adopt Christianity as their state religion
REQUIRES that all member nations, upon adopting Christianity, reshape their society and government to Christian principles: this includes but is not limited to:
Criminalizing abortion and birth control
Criminalizing and not recognizing any form of same-sex relationships or transgender identities
Criminalizing all drugs outside of alcohol and tobacco products
Criminalizing prostitution
Mandatory Creationism classes, replacing any classes teaching the debunked theory of evolution
Requiring all citizens to pray to their savior, God and His Son, Christ Jesus daily

If any member nations of the WA REFUSE to adhere to these requirements then:
They will be invaded by Religious Enforcers, a new branch of the World Assembly that will FORCE non-compliant nations to adopt Christianity. If they do not, then the Religious Enforcers will have the authority to usurp control over the government and place it under the control of the World Assembly directly.

There shall be a TWO-WEEK GRACE PERIOD following the passage of this resolution. During these two weeks, any member nations who do not want to be saved by the Grace of God may resign from the World Assembly without issue. Following this, then nations MUST begin the process of adopting Christianity.

At the adoption of this resolution, any and all World Assembly Resolutions which contradict it are hereby REPEALED. In addition, this resolution is declared PERMANENT AND REPEAL-PROOF and may not be repealed or modified in any way, shape, or form whatsoever.

1. Repeal proof- violation of the Blocker rule
2. Repeals without being a repeal - violation of the Repeal rule
3. Contradiction of a very high number of WA resolutions
4. WA rules enforcers in nations - violation of the Mechanics rules
5. Mandated adoption of Christianity - violation of the Ideological Ban rule.

Couldn't the primary reason be that it is just plain stupid, incorrect, and worst of all bigoted beyond belief? Perhaps just discarding it would be the preferable solution?

Or, Bears Armed, a member of the GA Secretariat, could follow the rules and guidelines which has the potential illegalities listed, and which are plainly laid out for all to see, instead of going with "I don't like this and it offends me".

Religious Sacrifices Should Be Legal

A resolution to improve worldwide human and civil rights.

Category: Human Rights

Strength: Significant

Proposed by: HellsLink

I Think that religious people should have the right to sacrifice anyone they wish, as long as the sacrifice agree's and wishes to proceed with said sacrifice. They must have video proof of the sacrifice agreeing or else it will be illegal. If they do sacrifice a human, and do not have video evidence of them agreeing then they will be charged with murder/manslaughter. But with all things considered a religious person should be allowed to sacrifice anyone as long as the sacrifice agree's. The argument for this is that humans have been doing this for years and people in some religions think it shouldn't stop now.

Someone wanted me to bring this proposal forward, and that person would like to remain anonymous

The Ownership Of Bodies Of Water
A resolution to increase the quality of the world's environment, at the expense of industry.

Category: Environmental

Industry Affected: All Businesses - Mild

Proposed by: Syraj

Recognising the value of offshore business;
Considering a nation's influence over it's lakes;
Understanding that there are areas of outstanding beauty in bodies of water;
The WA hereby proposes that:
1) All nations have 50 kilometers of ocean upon which they can do as they please.
2) For a further 50 kilometers the nation's laws are active but the nation cannot build upon this.
3) In other areas, the WA's laws apply only.
4) The WA delegate can designate areas of underwater natural importance where no nation can build, but, if applicable, still has it's laws in place.
5) A nation can appeal to it's WA delegate to build beyond it's 50 kilometers zone or build in a area of underwater natural importance.
6) For countries surrounding lakes, it is full owned by the nation.
7) For a lake between 2 nations, a line is drawn from the 2 border ends and is the border.
8) For 3 or more nations, the center of the lake is where all the borders are drawn to.
9) For parts 7 to 8, this is only applicable if there is no historic border already drawn up.

Parts of this duplicate Law of the Seas
parts seem to duplicate Transboundary Water Use Act

Which makes this superfluous, and illegal

The Complete Legalization Of Sports Gambling
A resolution to legalize or outlaw gambling.

Category: Gambling

Legalize/Outlaw: Legalize

Proposed by: The Southern Gulf of Mexico

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY: The Complete Legalization Of Sports Gambling.

UNDERSTANDING: That sports gambling must be made legalized.

CONCERNED: That a nation refusing their people of the right to gamble, is refusing their people freedom.

WISHING: That the World Assembly recognizes the right of freedom for all peoples of the world, and acknowledging the people's right to pursue happiness.

CONVINCED: That legalizing sports gambling is the wish of the people of the world, and that sports gambling would bring forth an abundance of tax monies for nations of the world. Also being convinced that: denying the people the right to gamble is denying the people, their freedom.

DEFINES: That all nations of the world shall and must allow and legalize sports gambling for their people.

DECREES: That all people of the world have the right to pursue happiness of their choosing. Decreeing that all people of the world have the right to freedom and that no Government shall have the ability to impede their peoples' ability to Gamble on sporting events.

"All nations of the world" reads like trying to effect both WA and non-WA nations.
