GENERAL ASSEMBLY PROPOSAL
ID: steelers0525_1479436719

The Environmental Act

A resolution to increase the quality of the world's environment, at the expense of industry.

Category: Environmental

Industry Affected: Mining

Proposed by: Steelers0525

Description: The Environmental Act hopes to fix up the destroyed environments that plague the countries that they are in. This act will achieve that as long is the WA accepts this resolution. The resolution is conducted as follows:

Understands That all nations have and should have complete control over their government, only voting for resolutions in the WA that agree with what they believe in or if it should be passed for the greater good, even if it might not benefit them.

Realizes That close to fifty percent of nations have either a poor or completely destroyed environment. Which adds the risk of damaging the nation’s infrastructure and industries from environmental disasters.

Hopes That nations care about their environment, as it has a global impact. If in the environment is terrible the odds of all industry infrastructure being destroyed by things such as acid rain are super likely.

Goals The goal of this resolution is to improve the environmental status of all nations around the world.

Recognizes That this is a very hard task to accomplish however it is reachable. Here is how:
Mining and Refining industries can either be reduced or changed to have more regulations
Automotive industry can either be reduced or changed to have more regulations
Government spend can increase their spending on the topic
New companies can be created to boost ecotourism

Plan This resolution would make it so nations must either reduce their mining and automotive industry spendings or must pass laws to put regulations on how they can/cannot contaminate the air and water. Which can be fixed at a low cost. Air and water waste filters are all that are required by this act.
Next nations must increase their government spending on their environmental protection. To either 1.5% or by 0.5% if 1.5% is already being spent on the environment. This will fix the destroyed environments and bring the poor quality ones to ones which a internationally accepted standard.
Last nations can create an ecotourism company which will
Advertize environmental protection
Generate taxable funds for the government
Increase tourism to your nation

Achieves This will ultimately increase the environmental beauty of all of the nations of the world. It will also have a positive effect on the tourism industry. It will also make it so environmental disasters are less likely to occur.

Wishes Nations to exceeded the regulations if they are financially able to. It would provide a boost in the tourism industry. In addition other industries will not ever be damaged from environmental causes.

Approvals: 10 (Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, Steelhand Grimnn, Gotesbourg, Jackey Ru, Wobbegongistan, Kitzerland, Beth Ravakla, Cortuanto, Bustium, Chesion Isle)

Status: Lacking Support (requires 91 more approvals)

Voting Ends: in 2 days 1 hour

But what does it do?

Legislating in a repeal (in red), and proposals for amendment (in blue).
GENERAL ASSEMBLY PROPOSAL
ID: ayme_1480114655

Repeal: “Nuclear Arms Possession Act”
A resolution to repeal previously passed legislation.

Category: Repeal
Resolution: GA #10
Proposed by: Ayme

Description: General Assembly Resolution #10 “Nuclear Arms Possession Act” (Category: International Security; Strength: Mild) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

REALISING that not all WA member countries will use nuclear weapons for the greater good
NOTICING the fact that not all WA member countries are required to use nuclear weapons solely for defence
ACKNOWLEDGING the fact that the Nuclear Arms Possession Act does not provide adequate requirements for the possession of nuclear weapons
REALISING the fact that if there were to be a fall out between nations with the possession of nuclear weapons the result would be catastrophic to all nations
Thus:
1. REPEAL the Nuclear Arms Possession Act so that it can be amended
2. REPLACE the Nuclear Arms Possession Act with another that has:
a) increased requirements for the possession of nuclear weapons
b) legislation to protect countries in the event of a nuclear fall out
c) restrictions on the amount of nuclear weapons a country can have

Dammit. Edited again...

School for the Poor
A resolution to promote funding and the development of education and the arts.

Category: Education and Creativity
Area of Effect: Educational
Proposed by: Parnello

Description: Everyone say that everyone has the right to have education. Well now, it is just a advantage to wealthy and thoes people who can afford to buy it. What about the poor people. All of the negative effects such as illegal drugs, prostitutions, illegal casinos, murder, robbery and all criminal activities could be start by these poor citizens due to the lack of money to educate them and the lack of money so they have to resort to these criminal activities to get money. What can we do to these poor citizens? We make a school for them and I suggest that we...

1. Make a government approved school that has a small enrollment payment that the poor people can afford.
2. School curriculums should have anti-drug lessons, good moral values, love for ones self, never resort to criminality, how to be a successful man, how to raise a child, prepare for college and also a short history of it's country.
3. Teachers of these schools could be volunteers from other schools or countries. They should be good at teaching, they know how to discipline a class and they should have a good attitude.
4. Schools should be designed not too expensive nor not too poor made. It should be a school that is equal.
5. Rich citizens are not allowed at the school to avoid any kinds of racism in the school grounds,
6. Classes should be divided by the students intellegence so that the lessons will be adapted for their own intellegence.
7. Schools should have a high number of guards to prevent murder and other crimnal activities also to make the students feel that they are safe.
8. Make a lot of parking lots to avoind traffic flows in the school for a safe and a smooth flowing ride.

We could do this eight suggests for the poor. Think about them. They have been out of hope for so long. They too can help shape our countries future. They have also labored for our daily products such as rice and others. They have provided us food, shoes and etc... We could make the tuition fee just the right amount that they can afford. Uniforms and school materials such as books are already part of the tuition fee. Now, what will you do to help them?

I'm fairly sure that this is the second time this proposal has been submitted (at least, during the time I've been here). With all the same mistakes and weirdness.

The Riser delegate stands at just over six and a half feet tall and bears a vaguely humanoid shape. All other features are obscured by layers upon layers of elaborate robes and veils in varying patterns and weaves of silver, the hands are covered with meticulously wrapped strips of cloth so that only the tips of short nails are exposed, and even the voice is ambiguous. The plate on the Riser delegate's desk bears the Romanization "M'yullouand'inthouahuynn y yht Shoa Vouaniya A'alayoulin Luath'louad". Stuck to that, there is a large blue Post-it note with elegant handwriting that reads "Do not bother to try and pronounce this one's title. This one is simply the Riser delegate.".

LaborRightsDevelopingCountries

A resolution to improve worldwide human and civil rights.

Category: Human Rights

Strength: Mild

Proposed by: Potstickerstan

Description: Deeply Concerned by the deplorable conditions for laborers in factories and sweatshops in developing countries,
Bearing in mind that developing countries may be reluctant to take big steps in reforming labour laws within their countries,
Stressing the importance of upholding and protecting the rights of workers as previously defined by the W.A.,
Recognizing that decreasing child labour and in turn increasing education of children in developing countries will strengthen the economy and infrastructure within countries,
Emphasizing the need for reintegration of citizens into the workforce who report labor rights violations in their workplace,
Recognizes the need to provide incentives to families to keep children out of child labour, like:
Food incentives, provided by:
The World Food Programme’s Purchase for Progress Initiative, which:
Purchases food from local farmers and manufacturers and distributes it to areas that face poor food security,
Stimulates the economy by connecting farmers with international markets,
Will distribute food to schools, so children will be given meals and can take food back to families after school,
The NGO, Rice Bowl which provides children with 2 meals a day to take pressure off their parents to pay for their food,
Monetary incentives, in the form of:
Conditional Cash Transfers (CCTs), which:
Will be provided by Rotating Savings and Credit Accounts (ROSCAS),
Will be given to families of children who reach certain educational milestones, like:
Completing grade school, completing high school, or earning a college degree,
3. IEN International Education Network
Using a system modeled after Mexico’s Prospera sponsored by the World Bank which:
Gives money to a mother to encourage her to send her children to school and to the health center
Has a strong presence on the ground, which facilitates more direct communication with the beneficiaries, even in remote areas
Calls Upon developing countries to reform local labour laws within their countries, using:
The International Forum for Labour Rights (IFLR), which:
Promotes connection between labor unions and the government, so that:
Individual workers can voice their opinions and concerns about laws and workforce regulation,
Governments will be more connected with citizens and more open minded to the suggestions and needs of the people,
Works closely with the governments of developing nations to:
Develop new and vital legislation for workers,
Promote stability and protection in the workplace;
Recognizes the need to promote the protection of workers, mainly through the use of:
Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSUs) which:
Works in small developing nations, establishing over 100 offices nationwide to provide protection to victims of violence and abuse
Provides legislative assistance to the workers who are attempting to persecute the abusive worker/employer by:
Working with different organizations that will provide us with lawyers and or assistance,
Can be paired with legal systems,
Provides protection services for housing individuals who feel unsafe and threatened in their own environment,
Provides transportation services to safer areas for victims, in the event that individuals feel insecure in their areas,
Is established under the WA, so that:
There is regulation across developing countries,
The workers will be uniform,
They would facilitate the deployment and recruitment officers,
They can keep in mind the cultural needs of each country/region;

Approvals: 0

Status: Lacking Support (requires 102 more approvals)

Voting Ends: in 3 days

Besides being an illegible wall of text, this has RL references, is the wrong category and goes way too far for a Mild resolution.

Repeal "Reproductive Freedoms"

A resolution to repeal previously passed legislation.

Category: Repeal

Resolution: GA#286

Proposed by: Belle Ilse en Terre

Description: WA General Assembly Resolution #286: Reproductive Freedoms (Category: Human Rights; Strength: Significant) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Argument: Aware of the reasonability of the afore mentioned proposal, the author also notices the incompatibility of this with various Theocracies and other nations who may be run by persons posseessing morals. The misfortune of this proposal is that it severely restricts nation's ability to nuance or possibly terminate their policy refarding abortion. It forces them also to contradict themselves and their own beliefs or to leave the WA, thereby denying themselves of many joys to this game. Thus this act, in view of its offensive nature, ought to be amended.

The author is well aware that such measures would effectively negate the resolution. The author thus provides a couter-proposal, that is not offensive. The author proposes that nations be allowed to determine for themselves. Nations that prohibit so-called 'reproductive rights' i. e. the right to kill an unborn person by medical procedure may suffer the decline in civil rights and other attributes as well as a reputation fit for an autocracy.

The resolution is offensive in its language, describing strict religious practices as misgivngs and restrictive in its demand denying the right to uphold or possibly decline, or even amend or modify a right.

Approvals: 2 (Slartnus, The Anarchic fascist republic of an isle)

Status: Lacking Support (requires 100 more approvals)

Voting Ends: in 2 days 20 hours

Extraction and Storage of Pe

A resolution to improve world security by boosting police and military budgets.

Category: International Security

Strength: Significant

Proposed by: REUPLICADESAOPAULO

Description:

Extraction and Storage of Petroleum.

In order to contribute to the global development of oil producing regions and exporting regions, we have taken into account, through our own experience in the production chain, the many care to be constantly cared for in order to avoid further damage already known.

The purpose of this proposal will never be a political foundation with the aim of causing damage to commercial relations based on existing agreements as well as causing some kind of interference in existing associations and affines.

Our objective is to offer real security methods acquired in oil facilities in general.

1 - The age of the platforms in activities can be considered old from the 15 years of age, because we detect numerous fatigues in the structures and drills used

2 - I continue training personnel in the control of the pressure valves, drill, pipes and electrical control, we advise reduction of the time shipped from 30 days to 15 days, because the level of extress becomes too high.

3- Prioritize training for abandonment of the platform that establishes an explosion or leak.

4 - In the design of new platforms take into account the capacity of this to withstand strong storms, have larger accommodations, a real-time ground-based data management center, decrease crude oil reservoir capacity

5- Issue constant alerts for vessels of all types for the purpose of keeping clear.

6- To demand from the extraction companies the faithful fulfillment of labor standards, safety.

7- Make constant studies of the water and marine fauna around the platform, to try to avoid the damages of leak or explosion

We believe that these alternatives do not change competition between producers and do not change existing agreements, since our objective is to show that it is possible to extract this resource without causing greater damages.

Build More Walls On Our Borders

A resolution to improve world security by boosting police and military budgets.

Category: International Security | Strength: Mild | Proposed by: Swickia

Here's some reasons for this proposal.

1.The Illegal immigrants has risen by 200,000 in the past 5 years.

2.There Smuggling Drugs into our countries

3.Theres not enough illegal immigrants being arrested.

So if this does get passed our borders will be walls and we will have more security around the wall I will fund for the walls.

There is no operative clause, and the first clause is a possible real world reference. A personal pronoun is used but I'm not sure whether that constitutes a branding violation.

Oh, and it was submitted twice.

That doesn't make it illegal. All a repeal needs to be legal is the "repeals" clause and not to be an Honest Mistake in interpreting the target proposal. That thing above unfortunately passes both tests.

Yes, but repeals must also follow the rules about Format and perspective. Thus, the 'I believe' makes it illegal.

Also, the submission screen has been reworked to make people actively assert that their proposal follows the GA (or SC) rules. This should help things.

Reinstate Slavery

A resolution to increase democratic freedoms.

Category: Furtherment of Democracy | Strength: Strong | Proposed by: KoreaNorth

Recognizing slavery has been around since the dawn of time, and it has proven to be a helpful and reliable source of improving infrastructure and help a country's growth and development. Also recognizing without slavery we wouldn't have had the great and prosperous world we live in today. Rather than executing those who do horrible crimes or acts of terror, slavery would be a much less barbaric and smarter way to do things, ending in the benefit of your country.

Mostly every society on earth has had some form of slavery in their past, it is a natural thing. People who are weak willed need someone to take orders from and look up to. Since slaves will be treated with basic humanitarian rights, sometimes even better than some citizens, many people would want to become slaves so they can be freed from prisons that do far more worse to them than what would happen if they were slaves under this proposal. Slavery would give a massive economic boost for every country using it, companies could produce products by the millions and not have to worry about paying the slaves, making the citizens of said country much more happy.

This proposal will recognize the following,

I) The mistreatment of slaves will not be acceptable, if a country is to hold slaves they must be treated with basic human rights (clothes, food, water, shelter)

II) There will be safe and well protected legal trade routes for the slaves to be shipped from country to country aboard well maintained and sanitary vessels.

III) Any illegal slave trade activity will be condemned and shut down immediately. Further investigation and legal action will follow.

IV) Slaves can only be obtained in the following processes: captured terrorists, prisoners that volunteer, desperate refugees, citizens who volunteer to be slaves, and buying/trading them legally.

V) To keep the citizens safe from losing their jobs to all of the slaves, companies would first have to pay a substantial amount of money for the slaves, and then the most a company could have of slaves would be 50/50 between slaves and citizens. Many slaves could also be hired to work for the government.

Keep in mind, All the slaves that will be used will be those who volunteer, besides captured terrorists or those on death row

This duplicates 23 GA and mentions earth, which is a real world reference.
