General Assembly Proposal
ID: imortan_empire_1596657083

Establishment Of An International Currency
A resolution to reduce barriers to free trade and commerce.

Category: Free Trade

Strength: Strong

Proposed by: Imortan Empire

Honorable Representatives,
I write today to propose the idea of an international currency to promote greater commerce between our nations. The provisions of my proposal include the following:

I: The World Assembly will establish a world bank for the production and maintenance of a new currency, hereby known as the "Terra."

II: The World Bank will be headed by a council of twelve nations. This council will be headed by one of the twelve, with the remaining eleven acting as a group to vote on and maintain bank functions. The head of the council shall act as a final decider on all votes put forward by the council.

III: Each region will have a local branch of the World Bank, lead by a council of six to twelve nations selected by regional leaders.

IV: All members of the World Assembly will adopt the Terra once they have achieved an economic ranking of good or higher. Members not meeting this requirement should be encouraged to adopt economic policies to meet the standards of the bank.

V: The Banking Council will be observed and regulated by a committee of the General Assembly. Membership of this committee is at the discretion of the General Assembly.

Any further provisions may be added at the General Assembly's pleasure following the successful passing of this proposal. I thank you for your consideration of this proposal.
Long Live the World Assembly!

Blogging. If there are more violations I haven't noticed, let me know.

Amendment, legislating in repeal, both repealing and amending (Last one technically not a rule, but bloody stupid to do both!).

Category: Repeal

Resolution: GA#296

Proposed by: Kraljevstvo Rata

General Assembly Resolution #296 “Prevention of Wildfires” (Category: International Security; Strength: Mild) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

APPLAUDING the intentions of this Resolution, which attempts to enact legislation on preventing wildfires,

RECOGNIZING its vagueness when defining terms such as "relevant people", etc.

HORRIFIED at the informal and unprofessional language used throughout this resolutiom.

HEREBY AMENDS and renews the articles under this law:

ARTICLE I:
I. All member nations enact and enforce legislature against reckless and purposeful incendiary action.
II. Have detailed and reasonable procedures on how to manage wildfires, with necessary personnel and equipment to engage the fires within their limits.
III. Ensure that the citizens likely to be affected are given notice of planned wildfires, and organize dates for these planned fires.
IV. Also ensuring that citizens of other nations likely to be affected are given notice of any identified, unplanned fire.

ARTICLE II:
Hereby encourages member nations to:

I. Establish education on fire safety.
II. Refrain from using fire as a weapon, or tool, to displace and destroy cultures, civilizations, and land.
III: Train units to be proficient in all forms of fire prevention and extinguishing, as well as to be ready to assist other units.
IV. Establish districts to better aid in the management of the areas affected.
V. Place necessary equipment at accessible points around the districts.

ARTICLE III:
Hereby instructs the WA Disaster Board to study and distribute information on the prevention of wildfires, and methods of fire management. URGES member nations to share all relevant data with the WADB, and offers the WADB's services to all member nations.

Hereby REPEALS and AMENDS WA Resolution #296.

"Grand Theft Auto"? That doesn't seem like a reasonable phrase to use in any context other than the video game.

Grand Theft Auto is a real term used to describe carjacking by the law. I think the capitalisations make it seem like its referencing the game, but it is a real term.

Grand Theft Auto is the US legal term for motor vehicle theft. So using that term is a bit US-centric, but not a RL reference.

2. Nuclear purchases by any country are limited to 5 a year
3. Ministers of Nuclear Development of any kind shall hereby be moved to Minister of defense or co-minister if there already is one active.

General Assembly Proposal
https://www.nationstates.net/page=UN_vi ... 1598341925
Declaration of election day as a legal holiday

A resolution to increase democratic freedoms.

Category: Furtherment of Democracy

Strength: Significant

Proposed by: N0RTHLAND

The World Assembly,

Recognizing the highest significance of election as an exercise of our democracy.

Welcoming the intention to protect the right to vote especially for the working class; in order for them to have the chance to perform their civic duty without a cut in their salary.

Believing that it is the duty of the World Assembly to ensure the performance of every citizen's civic duty to vote.

Encouraging the members of the World Assembly to establish an international framework that allows equal opportunity for all citizens to vote, encompassing all classes

The World Assembly Hereby:
1.) Mandates member states to declare Election day as a legal holiday.

2) Requires companies/ corporations/ institutions to provide just compensation for labor workers during legal holidays.

3) Prohibits No Work No Pay policy during election day and other legal holidays.

Strength violation -- and since the "prohibits no work no pay policy during (...) legal holidays" part is far stronger than the mandate in 1), perhaps also category?

Nature Protection Law
A resolution to increase the quality of the world's environment, at the expense of industry.

Category: Environmental

Industry Affected: All Businesses - Mild

Proposed by: Mihro

The World Assembly,

There are more and more good companies that are benefiting a lot of people. but buildings in every nation are also raising, as well as pollution and global warming. So we must make a law to protect not only our nature and forests, but also our animals and ourselves
The law proposed by Mihro will govern the restoration and protection of landscape, natural areas, plants, animals, and their habitats.

Principles of the law:

> Every legal person shall cooperate in preventing incidents that may harm nature, eliminating harm, and shall restore the affected nature to its original state.

> Removal of danger or harm at source shall be a priority.

> Companies that will cause pollution shall pay fees or taxes for the use of nature in any activities that will make damage or harm the forest or nature.

> The nature protection law shall be achieved also through education.

Why we should protect our nature

> Forests pump out oxygen we need to live and absorb the carbon dioxide we exhale. A single mature, leafy tree is estimated to produce a day's supply of oxygen for anywhere from two to 10 people.

> 300 million people live in forests worldwide, including an estimated 60 million indigenous people whose survival depends almost entirely on native woodlands.

> Trees absorb carbon dioxide that powers the global warming.

> They fight flooding.

> They feed us. Trees produce fruits, nuts, seeds and sap.

> They help us make things. Also they help us explore and relax.

RL references, mentions themselves in the proposal, probably some duplication of existing WA legislation too.

General Assembly Proposal

Ban Of Positive Action AKA Reverse Sexism Or Racism
A resolution to restrict civil freedoms in the interest of moral decency.

Category: Moral Decency

Strength: Mild

Proposed by: 2b2t players

positive action is just racism, but pro minorities,so why should it be allowed? racism is look down apon when its against minorities, but when the roles are reversed, its positive? we should ban it so that we can lower the total amount of racism. here are 3 reasons we should ban it
1: racism against minorities is illegal for most countries,so why is racism against non minorities not illegal?
2: its a drag on the economy,as people are hiring on race instead of skill.
3: it leads to higher college dropout rates,as students who aim too high are accepted due to their race, get overwhelmed, and drop out.

Doesn't seem to actually *do* anything (gives reasons to ban, but doesn't actually ban anything). Likely duplication with previous passed Resolutions. Understandable English rule. Not written as law. "Moral Decency" seems to be the wrong category.

We Need A Leader
A resolution to increase democratic freedoms.

Category: Furtherment of Democracy

Strength: Significant

Proposed by: The commonwealth of Britanniaa

We need a head of the counsel how do we do this you may ask? Well simple we need members with at least 2 endorsements to run as canidets the winner will be voted on by everyone in the world assembly.

Why do we need this? Simple we don't want bad ideass to be made as often so to do this we need to set rules for the head of the world assembly.

Rule one leader count's as 3 votes.
Rule 2 he can only run twice.
Rule 3 he runs in 2 month terms.

Tries to change gameplay mechanics.

Yes, a case in point was my post above. To make it I had to dig through the threads all the way back to October.
