Are you even allowed to single out Theocracy nations for actions they should take? Also it may not even do anything. Not sure on that though, but this does seem more like a list of statements that actual laws.

Anyway that proposal probably would have the opposite of the desired effect.

I personally loath one liners. Whatever would make you think I don’t?

Or the fact that I am just reading text, and am on the spectrum to boot.

You didn't reply to what I actually addressed to you, but anyway I never suggested that you don't loathe one-liners.

I forgot something as well (probably cause I'm busy eating dinner) but I meant to add "and responded to what I addressed to someone else".
Anyway still can't figure out what makes the first illegal, only counter productive.

The later is probably "does nothing" the caveat that if it did anything, it would be a contradiction.

Repealing General Assembly Resolution One

A resolution to increase democratic freedoms.

Category: Furtherment of Democracy

Strength: Strong

Proposed by: New Tussia

RECOGNIZING that the General Assembly has currently been failing their job in passing laws and that the GenSec has become corrupt.

NOTING that GenSec has been working with multiple NationStates regions (via the group known as “The WALL”) to pass certain laws.

NOTING that a few GenSec members are biased and can render laws as “illegal” for no valid reason. Therefore rendering the World Assembly as a “Tyranny By Majority”.

REALIZING there is nothing stopping “the Wall” from being formed. Thus, we need tighter regulations on World Assembly groups.

Despite being told by multiple folks that this is against the rules, and that you cannot repeal something without the repeal function, it was submitted anyhow. And is illegal.
Everything you know about me is wrong. Or a rumor. Something like that.

So even if it were a repeal, it would (I assume) be illegal for meta gaming (as gensec is not an IC thing if I remember correctly). Also these tighter regulations would be forcing players themselves to alter behavior, so such regulations simply cannot be issued.

On First Contact With Extraterrestrial Intelligence
A resolution to improve world security by boosting police and military budgets.

Category: International Security

Strength: Mild

Proposed by: Bietzopolis

This World Assembly,

Observing that no current legislation exists for first contact with an extraterrestrial species,

Acknowledging the statistically plausible theory that humanity is not alone in this universe,

Seeking to establish protocol for the eventual event of first contact with extraterrestrial intelligence,

Tasks the International Aero-Space Administration (IASA), created in GAR #451, or any other applicable international coalition of space agencies in the event of GAR #451 being repealed, with the management of first contact procedures while staying within the guidelines of the following protocols:

a. To recognize the dangers of first contact and to take certain precautions when necessary, such as in the case of infectious disease or extraterrestrial hostility;

b. To maintain a panel of exceptionally skilled linguists for the purpose of learning, understanding, and translating extraterrestrial languages;

c. To research and observe all extraterrestrial species before initiating first contact when possible;

d. To remain peaceful once first contact has been initiated.

Doesn't seem to instruct member nations to do anything.
Also from an IC perspective, don't we already have extraterrestrials as part of the WA? Making this resolution pointless.

Repeal: “Debtor Voting Rights”
A resolution to repeal previously passed legislation.

Category: Repeal

Resolution: GA#454

Proposed by: Slui

General Assembly Resolution #454 “Debtor Voting Rights” (Category: Furtherment of Democracy; Strength: Mild) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

The World Assembly:

Noting that the resolution in question comes from, and represents, a part of the World Assembly most member nations are in favor of, notably the Furtherment of Democracy;

Nevertheless disappointed with the phrasing of the resolution in question;

Concerned that the resolution in question may be too broad, by failing to, among other things, define “debt”
or adequately provide for proper implementation;

Worried that the author Imperium Anglorum is simply pursuing an additional resolution for nationalistic gain and in doing so violating the spirit of the World Assembly;

Further concerned that the language of the resolution as written may violate national sovereignty in some instances, due in part to a lack of definitions, as mentioned above;

Hereby repeals GA Resolution #454, entitles Debtor Voting Rights

Proposed by: Orbisburg

General Assembly Resolution #454 “Debtor Voting Rights” (Category: Furtherment of Democracy; Strength: Mild) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

The above resolution is nothing less then an insult to the world assembly community. If one is to lose the right to vote on grounds of debts then is not an attack on said persons civil rights?

I ask this body to overturn this resolution on grounds that it is too vague on it's meaning. How much debt is grounds for suspension of the civil right to vote in ones nation?

Honest Mistake, the resolution specifically prevents what the repeal is arguing that it does

Resolution: GA#454

Proposed by: East Russland

General Assembly Resolution #454 “Debtor Voting Rights” (Category: Furtherment of Democracy; Strength: Mild) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Debt shouldn't become reason to deprive someone rights to vote. Therefore this resolution need to be repeal and abolish.

Same as resolution before, honest mistake as it prevents exactly this.

General Assembly Proposal

Repeal: “Debtor Voting Rights”
A resolution to repeal previously passed legislation.

Category: Repeal

Resolution: GA#454

Proposed by: Firelia

General Assembly Resolution #454 “Debtor Voting Rights” (Category: Furtherment of Democracy; Strength: Mild) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Noting that the proposal "Debtor Voting Rights" makes an exception between all the crimes commited due to the need of money.

Acknowledging that this exception is difficult to apply because of the concreteness of it and the protests or possible riots caused by this differentiation between criminals imprisoned for the need of money.

Knowing the titanic work that is requested to the smaller countries with higher crime rate to comply with this exception.

Calling for the third point of the #419 GA Resolution, "3. Reserves for member nations the liberty to legislate on the issue of enfranchisement for individuals under incarceration." to notice that "Devtor Voting Rights" contravenes this point of said previously approved resolution.

The WA members hereby repeal the proposal passed at 18/01/2019 "Debtor Voting Rights".

Honest Mistake for highlighted parts. First It doesn't make an exception for crimes. Second, it doesn't prevent nations from disenfranchising inmates. Individuals imprisoned for debt are still inmates and therefore can still be disenfranchised based on the fact that they are inmates (regardless of why).

The Sanctity of Life

A resolution to restrict civil freedoms in the interest of moral decency.

Category: Moral Decency

Strength: Strong

Proposed by: Bednardia

- As a person of strong religious values, I believe that all life is sacred. Therefore leader of the world must protect it to the ends of the Earth.

PROPOSING:

- Mass and government funded abortions are banned.

- Capital Punishment is banned.

- Euthanasia is banned.

- Torture is banned.

In this fashion we can see the new light of day and understand the beauty of the life God has given us.

Branding, blogging, no operative clause ("Proposing" doesn't *do* anything), contradiction of at least one resolution, duplication of at least one resolution.
Jebslund is a nation of kerbals ruled by Emperor Jebediah Kerman. We reject tyranny, believing that rights should be protected, though we also believe said rights end where the rights of others begin.
Shockingly, we *do* use NS stats, with the exception of lifespan.
Singular sapient: Jebslunder
Plural Sapient: Jebslunden
Singular/Plural nonsapient: Kermanic
Note: When a verb can logically only be done by the sapient using/piloting/holding the object in question, then the appropriate demonym for the number of sapients is used.

Capitalism, Socialism, and Communism are ECONOMIC SYSTEMS. Stop conflating them with political systems.

Repeal: “Debtor Voting Rights”

Category: Repeal

Resolution: GA#454

Proposed by: Bakilior

General Assembly Resolution #454 “Debtor Voting Rights” (Category: Furtherment of Democracy; Strength: Mild) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

The World Assembly has no right to determine how sovereign nations conduct their elections nor who sovereign nations provide voter rights to. Therefore this proposal calls for the immediate repeal of the Debtor Voting Rights Act.

General Assembly Resolution #454 “Debtor Voting Rights” (Category: Furtherment of Democracy; Strength: Mild) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

You can’t restrict people from voting and if this passes then it ain’t going to be right.

Proposal basics and honest mistake (the resolution in question doesn't prevent the restriction of voting except in the very specific case in which debt is given as the reason for disenfranchisement). Also it has already been passed.

Repeal: “Debtor Voting Rights”

Category: Repeal

Resolution: GA#454

Proposed by: History club

General Assembly Resolution #454 “Debtor Voting Rights” (Category: Furtherment of Democracy; Strength: Mild) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

The "Debtor Voting Rights" is a unlawful act made by a country which was propsed by a country who at the time and still is a Delegate to the World Assembly. He was only a Delegate for 24 days at the time and did not put many word into into the proposal with only 23 words which is not much information.

It passed, hence it cannot be unlawful. Branding potentially? and meta-gaming for mention of delegates. I am fairly certain IA has been delegate for longer than 24 days though. Also doesn't address the contents of the resolution.

note: Please stop, there is already a legal and far better repeal draft.proposal. Just let it be voted on.

This doesn't really even relate to research in the least does it? Also, this would shut down even factories that only use human labor as well (and then an even more environmentally friendly method needs to be found?)

Category: Environmental

Industry Affected: Automotive

Proposed by: Rotonan

I belive that a good enviroment for future generations is required to sustain a good life and help advance this world. Futhermore, any national animal shall be protected and not hunted by poachers. Under compliance of this act, sovereign states shall also take steps to reduce carbon emissions, and must reduce amount of factories, find safer farming methods, etc.
Signed by Government of Rotonan.

Branding and possibly does nothing.

Contradicts and duplicates existing resolutions. ('Sensible Limits on Hunting' lets member nations allow hunting of their national animals if those aren't endangered; and we have a 'Greenhouse Cap and Trade' resolution to tackle carbon emissions.)
The Confrederated Clans (and other Confrederated Bodys) of the Free Bears of Bears Armed
(includes The Ursine NorthLands) Demonym = Bear[s]; adjective = ‘Urrsish’.
Population = just under 20 million. Economy = only Thriving. Average Life expectancy = c.60 years. If the nation is classified as 'Anarchy' there still is a [strictly limited] national government... and those aren't "biker gangs", they're traditional cross-Clan 'Warrior Societies', generally respected rather than feared.
Author of some GA Resolutions, via Bears Armed Mission; subject of an SC resolution.

Fair Workers Act

A resolution to reduce income inequality and increase basic welfare.

Category: Social Justice

Strength: Significant

Proposed by: Marva

a prupose that workers have the rigths to minimum wage
b recognaizes that many workers get no or minimal pay so they can´nt pay for a living
c want´s to improve the workers conditan and pay
d needs to make a fair workers commite that can investigate worker conditan in every country
1 demands that every country have 15$ a day
2 demands that worker conditans will and must be inproved when it needs

I believe there is duplication here, and RW references, and dodgy strength.
Everything you know about me is wrong. Or a rumor. Something like that.
