GENERAL ASSEMBLY PROPOSAL
ID: new_ottomans_1459886941
Repeal "Nuclear Arms Possession Act"
A resolution to repeal previously passed legislation.
Category: Repeal
Resolution: GA#10
Proposed by: New Ottomans
Description: WA General Assembly Resolution #10: Nuclear Arms Possession Act (Category: International Security; Strength: Mild) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.
Argument: REALIZING that nuclear weapons can destroy the world,
NOTICING that possession of nuclear weapons have made WA members hostile toward each other,
ACKNOWLEDGING that nuclear weapons may fall in the wrong hands despite precautions
1. DECLARES that any form of nuclear power contained within individual nations may not be used as an armament,
2. DECLARES that individual nations may declare war on other nations because of their possession of nuclear weapons,
3. REQUIRES that any nation guilty of possessing nuclear weapons must pay a fine to the general assembly depending on how much nuclear weapons they possess,
4. PRESERVES the right of nations to have anti-nuke guns in case of secret nuclear weapon programs undetected by the general assembly.

Legalize Pineapples
A resolution to ban, legalize, or encourage recreational drugs.
Category: Recreational Drug Use
Decision: Legalize
Proposed by: Igaunistan
Description: We should allow every citizen the right to be able to use, distribute and sell pineapples without consequences.
Repeal "Nuclear Arms Possession Act"
A resolution to repeal previously passed legislation.
Category: Repeal
Resolution: GA#10
Proposed by: Imperial Arkania
Description: WA General Assembly Resolution #10: Nuclear Arms Possession Act (Category: International Security; Strength: Mild) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.
Argument: The first step to enforcing non-nuclear wars is by abolishing nuclear weapons. If the World Assembly sets the example of dismantling it's nuclear arsenal the remainder of the nations will follow suit. I believe this to be true because of the lack of unity or any such organization amongst non WA nations. We more or less will defend any member of the WA if need be, with that in mind, what nation would have the audacity to strike out with nuclear weapons, at least a sensible nation. We must disarm ourselves in order to prevent total planetary annihilation that I can assure you will happen if we continue to justify the possession of these terrible weapons. WE must take the first step, WE must show the world that nuclear arms are NOT a deterrent to war, WE must be the first to preserve the mass of earth we all call home.

Repeal "Nuclear Arms Possession Act"
A resolution to repeal previously passed legislation.
Category: Repeal
Resolution: GA#10
Proposed by: New Fiera
Description: WA General Assembly Resolution #10: Nuclear Arms Possession Act (Category: International Security; Strength: Mild) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.
Argument: COMMENDING General Assembly Resolution #10's efforts at establishing peaceful relations between WA member and nonmember nations,
REALIZING that General Assembly Resolution #10's content allows for little oversight and accountability towards nuclear-capable WA members,
DEEPLY DISTURBED by the chances of WA members having the unchecked ability to exploit General Assembly Resolution #10 for their own gains,
NOTICING the multiple allegations from non-WA member nations that WA members have forcefully coerced them into a heterogeneity of unpleasant tasks due to the threat of nuclear annihilation,
ACKNOWLEDGING that WA member nations should retain the right of owning nuclear arms.*
DECLARING that General Assembly Resolution #10 be repealed due to:
1. Overly broad and exploitation-risking language;
2. No clause that would reprimand WA member nations for the misuse of nuclear arms;
3. Biased and unrepresentative view of non-WA member nations;
4. Inaccurate statistics regarding nonmember nations;
5. No sense of accountability of nuclear-capable WA nations.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
*With tight regulation and oversight regarding:
-Overall use of nuclear weapons,
-Nations targeted by said weapons,
-Reason behind such a full-scale attack,
-Any form of political coercion that may have occurred over the ownership of nuclear arms.

It is not a housecat. I have never heard a pineapple purr, nor has there ever been a recorded success in getting a pineapple to chase a red laser dot.
Defines the term 'pineapple', for the purposes of this resolution, as a housecat, which in turn, is defined as military grade weapons.

Protection of Cetaceans
A resolution to increase the quality of the world's environment, at the expense of industry.
Category: Environmental
Industry Affected: Fishing
Proposed by: Porpoisia
Description: Defining cetaceans as mammals in the family Cetacea, including the likes of dolphins, whales, and porpoises,
Understanding that many cetaceans are keystone species who stabilise our marine ecosystems and that many others support benthic marine life in death,
Knowing that these marine ecosystems provide many economic benefits and are crucial to our increasingly important global food supply,
Cognizant that thousands of cetaceans die senselessly each year in accidental bycatch by uncontrolled fishermen across the world or illegally by poachers,
Hereby declares that:
1. Nations must increase the amount of oceanic reserves worldwide
2. A complete ban on bottom trawling fishing methods must be enforced
3. Funds derived from the fishing industry shall be used to support marine conservation programs.
