Provide Basic Income

A resolution to improve worldwide human and civil rights.

Category: Human Rights

Strength: Mild

Proposed by: AbshirSaidFederal

Description: The Reason why basic income is a step to strong economy is that it will help citizens get on there feet that are unemployed and provide them with a decent living + their current job income.

>With the insurance of having unconditional basic income as a safety net, workers can challenge their employers if they find their conditions of work unfair or degrading.

>With a minimum level of security guaranteed to all citizens and less time in work or worrying about work, innovation in political, social, economic and technological terms would be a made more lively part of everyday life and its concerns.

This is why i Believe that basic income should be provided.

Restriction of CW stocks

A resolution to tighten or relax gun control laws.

Category: Gun Control

Decision: Tighten

Proposed by: Iruxian

Description: Recently its come to my attention that certain groups in the world maintain large gas based stockpiles and have on occasion used them. What this proposal is set to do is to tighten restrictions on all members of this council reduce standing stockpiles by up to 50%, reduce the budget allocated accordingly to research, maintenance and designs for improved delivery systems.

However this member suggests that up to 10% of the freed funds go to better Anti-Chemical weapon protections like masks and suits for ground troops.

This proposal should it go into effect will also ban their usage on their own people or on anyone in the World Assembly. Those outside can only be targeted if they are determined as aggressors by third party whose investigation must be approved by the World Assembly's Security Council.

I don't think so, but it's bloggy and barely does anything. I suppose we'll cut down one less tree than we planned to this year.

What was the text?

Banning Partial Birth Abortion

A resolution to improve worldwide human and civil rights.

Category: Human Rights
Strength: Significant
Proposed by: Shansmen

Description: This resolution has been put forward to outlaw the appalling practice of partial birth abortions.

Noting that the practice not only hurts the child but scars the mother aswell.

Seeing that the practice is performed on a child that could survive outside of the womb. Noting that this means the child is alive and human.

Asking that the practice be banned in all forms to save lives of fully formed children.

Seeing that the bill would not ban abortions as a whole, but just ones taking place in a partial birth circumstance.

Remembering that the child can feel pain and can survive in its own.

Asking that the practice be recognized as murder of a human being.

I filed a GHR to pull it for:
1) Bloggishness (no required action by the WA or its members)
2) Contradiction of "Reproductive Freedoms" if it isn't a blogposal
3) Strength violation (should be mild)
4) Category violation (should be Moral Decency)
While she had no regrets about throwing the lever to douse her husband's mistress in molten gold, Blanche did feel a pang of conscience for the innocent bystanders whose proximity had caused them to suffer gilt by association.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY PROPOSAL

Repeal "Reproductive Freedoms"

A resolution to repeal previously passed legislation.

Category: Repeal

Resolution: GA#286

Proposed by: Shansmen

Description: WA General Assembly Resolution #286: Reproductive Freedoms (Category: Human Rights; Strength: Significant) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Argument: I believe we must repeal this bill for the following reasons:

This bill recognizes all abortions as "medical procedures" which is what I believe certain kinds of abortion should not be defined as.

This bill also bans any proposal that would ban terrible forms of abortion such as Partial Birth Abortion that need to be stopped. Repealing this bill would allow more freedom of legislation.

Recognizing also that this bill takes away freedom from nations to make their own abortion laws.

Seeing that family law unless it is a human rights violation should be left to individual nations/regions.

Noting that this bill would not include legislation to ban any from of Abortion but would allow more types of legislation dealing with abortion.

Knowing that this is a controversial issue that should be debated and decided without overreaching legislation preventing that.

We must repeal this bill to allow the freedom to pass different bills on abortion.

Approvals: 3 (Shansmen, New United States of Canada, Opiniate)

Status: Lacking Support (requires 104 more approvals)

Voting Ends: in 3 days 1 hour

NatSov argument, no repeal clause, bloviating.

Actually if I may point out, it does have a repeal clause:

We must repeal this bill to allow the freedom to pass different bills on abortion.

What it does do, is try to legislate within a repeal, and there are several branding violations with the word "I" in it that truly makes this illegal. If it was bloviating it would be an essay, which this is not.

"I" is not branding.

If you claim to be religious but don’t control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless. Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you. | Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’ But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.’

Security Check for the Refugee

A resolution to improve worldwide human and civil rights.

Category: Human Rights

Strength: Significant

Proposed by: Lextra

Description: SECURITY CHECK FOR REFUGEES
The United States of Lextra proposes:
Heavy security at border to check refugees coming in country. Though most region ban refugees from entering the region. Those regions who have allowed refugees to come shall place heavy security at border to monitor the refugee flow and give them a security check to make sure no heavy weapons are brought into the country for destruction. I would like to urge the regions who have banned refugees to let the refugees enter but in a limited, safe way and obviously with a security check.

"Military Transparency". ID: dongwa_1457712439. Author: dongwa. Created: Fri Mar 11 08:07:19 2016. Category: 5. Text: For too long, there has been a lack of military transparency from regions. These regions are coincidentally the most violent. There needs to be a form of accountability for the regions attacking completely unprovoked. I propose a council to mediate the raiding. This council, however formed, would have delegates from the 10 most powerful regions (as to be determined by wartime power i.e. military strength, economy, etc.), and will be formed with the explicit purpose of keeping the peace. If a region is found in violation (raiding with no purpose) they are to be confronted by this council. They may send a delegate to plead their case. If found in violation, the council may punish them in any way they see fit, perhaps raiding the region itself.

Unfortunately it doesn't retain the actual category name. But, it was removed for obvious reasons.

Shouldn't it be education and creativity? It's advocating for gender equality in education.

The Education and Creativity category is for resolutions that "promote funding and the development of education and the arts." This proposal deals with women's education as a fundamental right that must not be denied, rather than simply as a facet of educational policy. In other words, it is a proposal "to improve worldwide human and civil rights." Or, it would be, if this weren't already covered.

Fund nuclear power research

A resolution to increase the quality of the world's environment, at the expense of industry.

Category: Environmental

Industry Affected: Mining

Proposed by: Opiniate

Description: With a dwindling supply of fossil fuels, and an ever increasing need for power, we must search for new ways to provide electricity to the people. While many ecologically friendly options are expensive and inefficient, there is one untapped source that we should all capitalize on.

Nuclear power.

Though many people have fears about the idea of having a nuclear reactor within a mile of them. Let alone in their backyard. Many of these fears come from anxiety of a meltdown and explosion. To tell you the truth, our current reactors are more akin to steam engines than internal combustion generators. They are inefficient as well. But corporations continue to build them in this reckless fashion because it has a low starting investment.
However, if research into nuclear power is progressed and funded well, we can have all the power we need for many generations to come.
There is also the concern about radioactive waste. However, this can be circumvented as well. Radioactive waste can be refined into more fuel. Though it requires another investment of resources to do so. After this is used, it can be refined again and again until it nearly dissappears. Even with this fuel waste that will take many thousands of years to degrade, it will cause far less damage than burning fossil fuels to produce the same amount of power.
A mass of fuels, might I add, that has never existed on earth.

What we need now is not to build reactors end masse, but to fund research and development of this incredible power source

This one is a blog of atrocious grammar and punctuation. The category seems a bit suspect as well for something which promotes nuclear power.

Repeal "Rights and Duties of WA States"

A resolution to repeal previously passed legislation.

Category: Repeal

Resolution: GA#2

Proposed by: The City State of Gridania

Description: WA General Assembly Resolution #2: Rights and Duties of WA States (Category: Political Stability; Strength: Mild) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Argument: No why, should we allow our citizens to have no political freedom at all. My citizens believe prisons are not allowed and rehabilitating these people is a much better option.

We shouldn't allow the law and order to completely oppress the thinking of our people. Our people should be free to do whatever they want. This is completely communist like!

Yeah, did they even read it?
