Walter watched with growing concern at the disturbance growing in the Bar. He leaned over to his translator and whispered:

OROOO ROH ROH

The translator, only partially deafened by the "whisper" from Walter, scurried over to the representative from Separatist Peoples with a drink in hand and relayed the message:

Would you like to join me... errr Walter, that is - for a drink and to catch up on how things have been?

Wait wait wait you got finger puppets Benny? Okay this I gotta see.

Herby's doors and windows are ALWAYS locked when she's in the Strangers' Bar (unless she unlocks them for you). And, she has no accelerator, a mock steering wheel, and no gear shifter. So, no joyrides.

Maria vyn Nysen and Jylien Barwald walked into the bar, with the former talking animatedly, and the latter listening and nodding with his usual charming smile, as he walked with his hands in his pockets. Vyn Nysen spoke in Daarish and translators - if able to pick up the language or the conversation - might hear bits and pieces like "Sovereignty Bloc", "another smear campaign" and "really through with those whale wastes" as the two approached the bar and placed an order of a green tea, and an Eckie-Cola.

Walter's translator, having seen Trevanyika ditch the beer that Walter had offered, darted over after relaying the latest message to Bell while Walter played a game of "drink the entire six pack of beer" in honor of his toast to Bell. He approached Trevanyika with a slightly panicked look on his face and said:

Sincerest apologies for the interruption, but I noticed you didn't accept Walter's drink - I understand, believe me I do, Walter has... eclectic tastes, but refusing a drink in Walrussian society is a grave insult. I don't think he noticed this time, but the proper way to refuse a drink from Walter is to challenge him to drink it himself. No guarantees he won't offer another immediately after, but it at least gives you a chance to slip away. If not, you can always challenge him again.

The translator gave an apologetic, awkward bow to Trevanyika before scurrying back to Walter's side.

As Vyn Nysen and Barwald sat down with their orders, the former took note of Trevanyika and Walter. She blinked a few times at the latter ambassador. "Is that..." she said to Jylien who turned around and nodded, seemingly unfazed.

"Yep, that's a walrus," he replied, before turning around again to take a sip from his glass.

"Well, we did make that argument about the WA being diverse, so we might as well stop being surprised everytime we see that diversity in front of us."

"You're the one acting surprised, Maria," noted Jylien with a playful grin.

Vyn Nysen rolled her eyes, but with a slight smile. "Really, is there nothing that would make you at least pause for a second to think 'oh, how quaint'?"

Jylien pointed at her and winked. "Always expect the unexpected, then you'll never be caught off-guard."

Maria rose her eyebrows a little. "Oh, your friends must have loved organising surprise parties for you..."

"Huh, now that you mention it, I never had one."

"Is there even a point in trying to organise one for you?" Vyn Nysen asked smiling broadly

"Nope," Jylien replied self-satisfied.

One can hear the sea shanty before the arrival.

"And we chased the lass around the bend,
Looking for booty at the end!
Yo ho! Yo ho! A pirate's life for me!
We will always seek the biggest chest
For the bounty of treasure is the best!
Yo ho! Yo ho! A pirate's life for me!"

Inexplicably, a pirate ship fashioned out of two mail carts, a few sheets of wood, and what looks like a set of curtains from the fourth floor pulls up outside the bar. Sitting on the ship is a man dressed like an actual pirate, complete with real parrot on his shoulder, who has several portable freezers designed to look like pirate chests on the 'ship.' Sitting on one of the chests is Dame Allania Trueblood, obviously stoned out of her mind and inexplicably carrying a watering can and wearing a pirate hat.

"I must get water for the bushes," she mutters as she stumbles in, clutching the watering can close. "They look thirsty."

She stumbles in, before spotting a bottle of pure ethanol behind the bar. "That! That will feed the bushes! Must have that!"

As the knight moves closer to the bar, she stops as she spots Walter and blinks.

"Is that you, Sir Tribolt? But you're fiction... And missing your hat. Where is your hat, Sir Tribolt?" she asks the walrus, before blinking. "Wait! I'm wearing your hat!"

Dame Allania grabs the pirate hat off her head, attempts to place it on Walter's head, and then nods. "Better, Sir Tribolt. Much better. You show those buccaneers what for! Sail the seas and take all the treasure!"

Then she turns to the nearest waitress, who simply gives a long suffering sigh, walks behind the bar, and grabs the ethanol.

"This is the third time, Dame," the waitress says as she walks back and hands the bottle to the knight. "You know the instructions your Queen sent."

Dame Allania, who is still too stoned out of her mind to really pay any attention to reality at all, simply gives the waitress a blank stare before stumbling back toward the door. "Must water the bushes..."

The knight clambers back onto the pirate ship, which immediately begins to move as soon as she boards and elicits an eek from her as she nearly falls off. Sadly for Ambassadors Holt and Hipperle, she is returning to them to water the bushes.

But as soon as the pirate 'ship' begins to move, another voice calls out. "Halt! Stop that pirate ship! Don't let them..."

The unnamed dark haired assistant pants as he runs up, far too late to stop the makeshift craft as it careens down the halls, back towards its destination.

"He Who Steals Souls curse this," the assistant mutters, before turning toward the bar. "I swear I..."

And then he pauses as he spots Walter.

"is that a walrus?"

"Now that is something I did not expect to see today."

"Can something like that be ever anticipated?"

"From now on, yes."

Just when you thought your daily walrus quota had been filled, Wallace flops inside, leaving a wet trail behind him. Oh well, it's not his job. It's practically a free single-use slip-and-slide after all. Solves overpopulation as well, one at a time.

Delegate Russell then leans closer to the floor, letting out a series of loud arfs as his whiskers frantically search the room, until they set their sensitive whiskers upon Walter. There appears to be another walrus in this bar.

Trevanyika wears an embarrassed frown. "I am,,,sorry. Alcohol on my planet is rather unlike most served here, as I have learned through personal experience. I'd rather not get sick again." She looks at the bottle, then back at the walrus's translator. She sighs, "I could try, could I not? A sip won't hurt."

She opens the bottle and lifts it up, again ever so delicately with her thumb and forefinger.

The beer bottle comes loose as the pirates take Trevanyika by surprise. Her free hand jolts forward to catch it in its free fall, but only manages to knock against it, sending the bottle in a spiral. It shatters as soon as it hits the ground, sending a spray of glass and beer spreading across the floor.

"Fuck!" yells Trevanyika. "Agh, fuck me to last Friday. Neville! I dropped a bottle.

Delegate Russell then leans closer to the floor, letting out a series of loud arfs as his whiskers frantically search the room, until they set their sensitive whiskers upon Walter. There appears to be another walrus in this bar.

The nameless assistant finds himself muscled aside as another walrus comes into the bar. He can't help but stare at the second marine mammal he's seen in a drinking establishment in his entire life.

"Did I get a contact high?" he quietly asks himself. "But I was never that close to her..."

Wallenburg wrote:"Well, yeah, but I'm more curious at what that was about," says Trevanyika, gesturing to the diminishing rolling sound echoing off of the hall. "Are you with that ambassador? She seems to have had a total nervous breakdown."

The assistant turns his attention to Trevanyika and blinks. Okay, I'm beginning to think that's not a puppet, despite what Allania says.

"I'm sorry about your spilled drink, sir," the assistant begins. "Um... Well... She took something being offered in the Security Council and came here after picking up a watering can from where we're camped out. I have no idea where the pirate ship came from. I thought she was making that up when she told me about it."

And, as if things were not strange enough with the walruses and pirates, Dame Allania comes marching up, looking more than a little angry and, weirdly, entirely sober.

"Which way did I go?" Dame Allania barks as soon as she gets near the assistent, not even looking at anyone else.

"Um... that way," he says, pointing in the direction the pirate ship took off in.

"I'll be right back after I straighten myself out." The knight turns and starts to march off, looking even more angry. "I can't believe the nerve of me, taking drugs when on the clock! I swear, when I get ahold of me..."

The assistant just stares a moment, then turns back to Trevanyika. "Yeah, don't ask me to explain that either."

Aw c’mon, just a little—

Herby's doors and windows are ALWAYS locked when she's in the Strangers' Bar (unless she unlocks them for you). And, she has no accelerator, a mock steering wheel, and no gear shifter. So, no joyrides.

Groot enters the bar. "I am Groot," says Groot, motioning toward Violet that he wishes to order his usual beverage. He takes a seat near the Volkswagen-shaped ambassador. "I am Groot," he says to his acquaintance.

Oh ehhh hi Groot. Yeah I’m fine. A little tired. Might need a tuneup or maybe a software reset. It’s been awhile. How you doin’?

Trellania wrote:"I'm sorry about your spilled drink, sir," the assistant begins. "Um...

Trevanyika's mouth turns up ever so briefly in a disbelieving, condescending smirk. "I have a mind to ask you anyway. Your staff haven't been messing with your temporal recalibrators, have you? There's only supposed to be one of each of us here at any given time, and that woman definitely did not seem like the same woman that rolled in here just before."

Gerald joins Helen and the Trellanian assistant, clearly frustrated. Bending slightly at his knees, he still has to nudge one of the chandeliers aside to free enough space for his head. "Was that her? Dame Allania? Mrs. Ogenbond asked me to talk with her about networking between our offices. The bar's just been so busy that I couldn't get over to her without bumping into someone." He looks over the unfamiliar assistant. "And who might you be?"

"He's with the same ambassador as the one that just went out, I think. I don't know if she's the person you're looking for, though."

"I am Groot," says Groot. After Violet drops a mug of root beer in front of him, Groot lifts it in Ambassador 53's direction and takes a swig. He looks at the car again, noticing her glum demeanor. "I am Groot," he asks.

Oh it’s nothin’. Feeling a little blue I guess. I mean ehhhh not the color blue. You know what I mean. Right? I just need a little pick me up. Like some decent entertainment. Or some stimulating conversation. (She looks in the general direction of Ambassador Bell.) Or even a finger puppet show at this point.
