OOC: Neyla is not my official ambasador, Rila is, and Valeera was before her. Neyla just hates humans because the first ones she met were jerks to her so she took that and projected it onto all other humans. If say, one of her own species were to address her, or anything not human, she'd be a lot more diplomatic towards them.

OOC: I hope you realize that a lot of the "humans" in WAHQ are not RL humans. Many are what you could call "humanoids". And that even if they were "Earth humans", they come from entirely different universes, or even different multiverses, and only co-exist in WAHQ. In addition to which, there are a lot of non-humans around. Your characters have so far been jerks to everyone but your own charas.

Rila is a matriarch and feels she has to tolerate others for diplomatic reasons. Basically, so long as you are nice to her, she'll be nice to you.

This is your "tolerant" matriarch speaking:

AHUME: Someone's idea of a practical joke. You see, nothing grows in the soil on Luna II, and there's no atmosphere to speak of. So, we set up these pressurized greenhouse units and blanket the floors with a few inches of imported soil, so we can grow limited amounts of crops. One time, we received a shipment of seeds from an outlying colony, they grew into these exquisite fruits, something that smelled and tasted a bit like sweet tomatoes, but were the size of pumpkins. What we didn't know was, when we tried to pick the first few of these fruits, the plants had a self-defense mechanism, and sprayed this burning substance on us, which we later found out was fairly concentrated citric acid. Needless to say, the following rotation, we did not plant any more of those seeds.

"A rumour has it that you've got someone you're rather more than slightly fond of, on New Tollana. Is it anyone I know?"

This is my first serious forway outside F7 and P2TM, so if there is a run down or something I can use to know these things, I'd like a link, not open hostility b/c I'm not playing how you want me to play.

OOC: I'd like to see any kind of roster or rule set in that reguard so I know how, as opposed to this guy pretty much waiting for me to do something he doesn't like before telling me in a thinly vailed way that "I don't like how you're playing so GTFO." I feel like I did when Valdrin entered 10KI and started drama over his not liking my factbooks and my refusal to change/alter/delete them. (Which is why I left that region). So, I'm at a point where I'm just going to say this: If you don't like me or how I'm playing my chars, say so and quit hiding your true feelings from me.

I promise this is my last post touching this issue, but I honestly don't get where you keep getting this idea of any hostility towards you. You seem to have some marthyr complex going on, but that's unlikely to win you any points. If you want "GA RP" advice, ask someone. Also, don't forget that this is a place where ambassadors of different nations come. Diplomats. It's possible to play an aggravating ambassador, but the last person who did that consistently, eventually ended up as DOS, so I'm not sure it's a good road to go down.

Also, your roleplayed reality obviously has different species working together. So I'd think it foolish to assume everyone else's roleplayed reality contained only humans.

Now then, we all know you're newish here. That's why we're commenting OOCly to your ambassador's - which in the most basic case means "nation representative", aka whoever you have talking for your nation at any given time - actions and comments, since they've not really been fitting the OOC information you've given us regarding them.

Finally, remember that the Stranger's Bar is just one thread on this forum. The entire forum is RP. I'd say the majority of RP happens in the debate threads, not in the Bar. You need to read those and partake the debates, if you want to fit in and know more about people. Even Herby sometimes pokes at the debates, though he's mostly in the Bar guzzling gazoline like it was the day before petroleum industry's general strike.

You'll also gain a lot of info of those of us here if you read this thread from the beginning. It's only on page 43 now, so it's completely doable.

LOOC: Now this is more understable. The only reason I assume that is other then a few obvious examples (PPU and the Landmine come to mind) I simply don't know who is human and who is not. Also, I don't mean to make Rila a jerk- She's actually supposed to be nice but at the same time since it's her first time outside our territory so the cut up and randomness are new to her.

I also come from sites less open from this where people will sit there and let slights and minor transgressions build up before blowing them up in your face. This is particularly evident in online games I've played.

But if you allow only smol percent of tastebud to have tomato, then you are not having the prosper. The proletariat tastebuds are not being the happy, because you have only given to grubby hands of bourgeoisie tastebud. So they become sore and revolt. But when all is equal, and rich cannot oppress the masses, this is when you are having the good times. Equal tomato is good tomato. Also, tomato is red, meaning tomato is best fruit. Red is best. Chuckie, noting that the Singing Man was Very Excited, made the executive decision that the Singing Man was Very Excited because it was time for food. The Singing Man always brought him good food. Chuckie enthusiastically followed.

Bell's swift pursuit is as swiftly halted as the goat knocks over a table in his path. By the time Bell redirects his momentum, Chuckie has gained what Bell recognizes to be an impossible distance to close.

Of course, it is unlikely their stance was previously favorable, due to our history and policies, but as the Diplomatic Overseer, it is rather my job to ascertain the stance of your Government, given the nature of the conflict." He pauses briefly, before continuing somewhat quieter, "And, if possible, the state of the Tollan civilization as it currently stands, information has been limited, and not entirely favourable regarding their quality of life."

Rila glares at the hardlight projection, which then seems to cut itself off, only for it to appear later, only now Neyla has a plate of artfully prepared Shishimi, and is eating it.

For no reason whatsoever, Cornelia Schultz sets up a projector screen in the bar and begins to play a really cheesy video on it.

That's why we sent you, you poor soul, to sit through endless debates on issues so complicated you need at least one brain and multiple dictionaries to understand them.

Here Schultz turns down the sound, while the narrator spouts some Excidian propaganda Tinfectians might not like to overhear. After awhile, she turns the volume back up.

"-as you can, the World Assembly is a diverse place. And it all resides at the World Assembly Headquarters, a sprawling labyrinthine complex at a dimensional nexus. It's famed for its endless debate chambers, drafting chambers, offices, restrooms, and one bar where everyone goes when there is nothing to argue about.

"That's all for today. If you'd like to know how to participate in WA legislation, we'll cover that in our next video! Good Luck, Ambassador."

The video cuts out. Schultz stares blankly at the screen for awhile, and then says, "Yeah, it still sucks, even two years later."

Rila looks at a datepad she brought with her about the rise of civilization in the galaxy. "And to think most still don't believe the Multiverse exists. If you guys don't mind, I'd like to do some filming to prove the validity of that therory to the doubters."

I'm pretty sure that every WA member believes the multiverse exists. It's pretty impossible to reconcile the WA with a single universe.

This is my first serious forway outside F7 and P2TM, so if there is a run down or something I can use to know these things, I'd like a link, not open hostility b/c I'm not playing how you want me to play.

For no reason whatsoever, Cornelia Schultz sets up a projector screen in the bar and begins to play a really cheesy video on it.

OOC: It is still a theory despite our technological pre-eminance. While they could say it is fake, few Asari would dispute Rila other then perhaps other Matriarchs- but then they would also have to prove it is wrong, and the fact that there are races not known in the explored regions of my universe, seeing things like a plant-based hivemind or a talking car would lend credability to any claims Rila makes when she returns home. This, and Neyla is watching and Valeera still has her ship nearby (She left the building but not the area.) That, and I wanted an excuse to interview people and get to know them.

OOC: That's a perfectly good idea, and could work well in the Stranger's Bar setting. Just remember that your representative needs to be diplomatic (aka polite) about it, and it's also probably best to not start with "My people don't believe you exist."

I wish to make a video record of all the ambassadors here so I can better tell who is who and get to know the people I am debating with. I get it that you're on the Mass Effect Threeversum bandwagon in RP sense, like Wrapper is Stargåtean or whatever, and someone mentioned Minecraft somewhere, which I know even less of that Mass Effect, which I've only heard of told by a friend who likes those games. I've seen a Stargåte movie and part of one of the series, Minecraft I know exactly as much of as the Wikipedia article tells me and that's that.

I'm honestly left wondering if anyone aside from what, let's see, Bears, me, Liagolas... SP? Tinfect? Excidium? I don't know about you three a lot, in the RP sense, except SP throws some comparisons to Runescape's drinks, which I know a lot about (played since 2004), and could probably write a good spin-off RP based on the tons of lore that exist for that world plus my own gaming experience, but I don't want to rip off other people's worldcreating efforts and justify acting like a...

Yeah, going to stop myself there. I don't want Wrapper to have to jump out of character and whack me with RedText^TM, nor do I actually give a shit about who bases their RP on what, except as a multiple world-builder myself I view that as damn lazy. And yes I have been in a writing club where we based our stories on a universe created by someone else, and I found it so restricting that I kept adding my own things, which others then adopted which then became canon for the club and not going further into that, but I know it's easier to take certain concepts, especially if there are easy links to provide for people who ask.

And yes, it's lazy. And yes, it's both easy and difficult at once. When you're restrained by the lore created by others, the best you can do is create characters and evolve them further, like Wrapper has done magnificently. He doesn't keep throwing it into our faces all the time that his nation has some nullpoint energy field or whatever it was, and that they have the Stargates and whatnot, while the majority of nations around here haven't got FTL, in my case Araraukar doesn't even have its own space program, but partakes an ESA-type thing on its planet.

I get it, worldbuilding isn't for everyone.
