It's no problem, really. If you'd like to, go to the Moderation forum, look for the 'move' megathread (there's several sorts, move, delete, otherwise) and get these either removed or moved or what not. You may want to look at some of the threads up and going to get an idea on how folks tend to run trade, RP, and all the rest - not that there are many hard fast rules that way, save the site ones - but it can help you get a feel for the various forums, and to see where you might like to focus your play. There isn't really any limit - you can pretty much participate all over. It's up to what makes you smile, really.

There are also a number of helpful stickies, and over in the International Incidents area, though you can find them all over as well, there's the Mentors. They're a group of experienced RP'ers who have volunteered to help players either get their feet wet in the various areas, to help with basic disputes that sometimes crop up, and other sorts of things. Good group of peeps, and there's usually one or more about you could shoot a telegram off to for help or advice.
