The Kingdom of Inuvia has no desire to support a WA resolution on such a topic. If your state wishes to practice vegetarianism, so be it. However it would be ridiculous to suggest that all WA members be forced to follow along and convert to vegetarianism. This is a decision best left up to the individual, and no democratic state should have any reason to make that decision for them.

Ambassador, we can not support a resolution such as this. We could, perhaps, be persuaded to support some form of regulation regarding transport of livestock from one nation to another - legislation dealing with the international issues of meat production in a way that reduces unnecessary suffering on the part of the livestock - but an outright ban on meat consumption? No.
As an editor I seam to spend an awful lot of thyme going threw issues and checking that they're no oblivious errars. Its a tough job but someone's got too do it!

"I'm afraid such a resolution would be an unacceptable application of the WA's authority over member nations. Such a resolution borders on tyranny. We should all respect the basic right of individuals to choose what they do and/or do not put into their bodies, whether that be food, medication, or some other substance.

"Setting the obvious ethical issues aside, while their are health benefits to vegetarianism, there are also health benefits to omnivorous behavior. The human body is designed to intake and digest both meat and vegetables, gaining different benefits from both.

"Therefore, the Commonwealth of Calivia cannot, under any circumstances, support such a resolution."

"Our government would propose a system similar to our own, where owing to the use of most farmland for feeding humans rather than livestock, laws restricting the use of hormones and antibiotics on livestock intended for human consumption, and strict animal cruelty laws restricting the conditions livestock can legally be raised in, we have essentially made industrial meat production impractical and reduced meat to a niche market for the wealthy. The result of this is that a prime rib now costs close to five hundred universal standard dollars. We don't have to outright pass legislation against eating meat and risk angering our libertarian allies, but we don't have to turn a blind eye to the slaughter either. On the other hand, our system also promotes overfishing by driving people who can't afford meat to the fishing boats. We wouldn't even be able to catch many of the overweight fishing cargoes we do get if our navy wasn't already on edge patrolling in force."

"If we are going to go there then bring in the machines, they don't need any of this food anyways and probably find such use of land unnecessary. The fact that you would start a war and kill those that don't agree with you is kind of disturbing."

OOC: I remember you asked if I was pulling logic out of my ass, and I said I was. But if you want to push this, at least be educated about it so if you want to continue you can use better information to your advantage. Because yes in some ways that kind of diet is kind better. But this is a place that doesn't equal real life. But if you want to use those kind of arguments.

Our General Assembly ambassador is Lt. Albert Nakiri
The IFF is an FT galactic empire located on Terra IX, aka Terrana, of the 15th sol system in an alternative dimension to the '"real world"
Furthermore the IFF does not represent the interests of the South Pacific as that is reserved to the current WA regional delegate of the South Pacific

I could support a bill that helps recognizes the importance of eating healthy, why vegetarianism is an option, but to demand it on the whole world including my nation.. I cannot, I will not.
