RECOGNISING the fact that palm oil is an important fat source for the world's population due to it's affordability.
ACKNOWLEDGING the immense environmental and rainforest destruction and pollution that palm oil production, both legal and illegal; produces.
SADDENED by the unnecessary deaths and displacements of humans, orangutangs, and animals which are caused by palm oil production.
REALISING that palm oil is an exceptionally unhealthy fat, being entirely saturated fat; which has been linked to heart disease.
KNOWING that palm oil is only used due to it's affordability.
ACKNOWLEDGING that there are other affordable alternatives, many of which are healthier and have less of a detrimental effect towards the environment of Earth.

BANNING palm oil due to these factors, as doing so would greatly benefit the environment, orangutangs and other animals, humans, and allowing rainforesrs to regenerate themselves.

This is a nice idea and we need more environmentally conscious voices in the WA, however this one is so reliant on real world information it is borderline illegal. The WA exists in a multiverse consisting of tens of thousands of nations from premulticellular organisms to transmaterial galactic empires. Thus a lot of truths we hold as evident on earth do not stand up well here. You would do well to read the forum rules and browse the passed resolutions (both available at the top of this forum) for a guide on how this section works. I'd also advise participating in existing debates before attempting to author your own resolution.

OOC: Thank you for your reply. Actually, I have been on NationStates for over five years, this is just my new nation. I do have some experience in the WA, having previously been a regional delegate, voting for dozens of various bills and proposals. The majority of nations on NS are based on Earth. Also, if they are based on a habitable planet, it is possible that they can grow oil palms; so I think it would affect them as well.

But thank you for your tips and advice.

Palm oil is quite detrimental to our environment, and it kills thousands if orangutangs every week. It displaces thousands of people, and creare dense clouds of pollution due to the burning smoke made from "clearing" or burning down the rainforests in order to make space for palm oil plantations. If you find that humourous, if you find such a bill to be frivolous, you need to learn more about the situation.

Fortunately we already have a passed resolution to restrict that practice.

However, given that the "clearance" is actually for planting these 'palm oil' trees rather than for the collection of timber, I'm not so sure that 'Logging' is really the correct area-of-effect: Bearing in mind that much of the palm oil produced is apparently used in "processed" foods, maybeso the sub-category 'Manufacturing' would be more suitable instead?

Note the difference. The first makes your proposal illegal (no active clause); the second doesn't.

Perhaps the proposal can be more respectful to the multiverse by engaging in a few language tweaks suchs as instead of:
"palm oil is an important fat source for the world's population"
You could try:
"palm oil is an important fat source for many nations."
And instead of:
"unnecessary deaths and displacements of humans, orangutangs, and animals"
it might be better to say:
"unnecessary deaths and displacements of residents and native fauna"
