Managing other nations too much, and there is no way nations will give up power by dismantling their nuclear weapons. And what about other Weapons of Mass Destruction? Radioactive, chemical, biological weaponry? There is very little likeliness of this repeal passing.
The Kingdom of Nouvelle Rhodes OPPOSES this Movement. That is all.

I don't know, I personally wouldn't mind getting it replaced with a more permissive bill. :lol2:

Yes, but then there is the whole fight of getting it hammered out, delegates to approve, and then voted in by the WA. You know the enviro-loons and "No n00ks" crowd will lobby hard against anything new and more permissive/realistic.

For the record, Nordicus supports this motion.

Hirota will support any legislation that provides additional affirmation of our nations right to possess and trade in nuclear weapons.

Equally beneficial would be within 10 seconds all the raiders would eliminate the defenders and vice versa, this will bring true peace (and quiet) to this body and indeed the world.

The Republic of Frepolis will not agree to a repeal of the Nuclear Arms Possession Act. We wish to continue with a nuclear weapon free world.

Freeoplis

We are confused by this statement. The resolution in question is:

GENERAL ASSEMBLY RESOLUTION # 10

Nuclear Arms Possession Act
A resolution to improve world security by boosting police and military budgets.

Category: International Security
Strength: Mild
Proposed by: Flibbleites

Description: REALIZING that WA members are outnumbered by non members by about 3 to 1,

ACKNOWLEDGING the fact that only WA members are required to comply with WA resolutions,

NOTICING the fact that many non member nations are hostile towards WA members,

REALIZING that the WA members need to be able to defend themselves if attacked,

1. DECLARES that WA members are allowed to possess nuclear weapons to defend themselves from hostile nations,

2. PRESERVES the right for individual nations to decide if they want to possess nuclear weapons,

3. REQUIRES that any nation choosing to possess nuclear weapons take every available precaution to ensure that their weapons do not fall into the wrong hands.

Votes For: 6,313
Votes Against: 4,663

Implemented: Fri Jun 6 2008

Which quite clearly states that WA nations are free to possess nuclear armed weapons. How precicely does opposing the repeal equate with a stance that all nations be nuclear free? We believe our colleague from Freeopolis should require his ambassador to actually read the Resolutions being recommended for Repeal prior to making a contradictory stance on them.

And for the record, the Kingdom is still against this proposed repeal as we believe that the possession of nuclear armed weapons is a decision for the nation to make and not something to be mandated by the WA as disallowing.

We welcome the statement from Grays Harbor and would like to clarify that Article 3 states:

3. REQUIRES that any nation choosing to possess nuclear weapons take every available precaution to ensure that their weapons do not fall into the wrong hands.

This Freeoplis believes delivers a framework of accountability in possessing Nuclear weapons and therefore a safer world. Effectively nuclear weapons will in most cases only be used as a deterrent without any real risk of actual use. We recognise an absolute nuclear free world is a long way off but welcome the regulation provided by the Nuclear Arms Possession Act as opposed to none.

In addition the repeal appears to be legislating for a total ban, as this would be in the interests of Freeoplis we recognise this may constitute an illegal Act.
