DRAFT - Atomic Protection Act

This act will put a limitation on use of atomic weapons for testing. Atomic Bomb testing on foreign and unknown islands, could be dangerous, to both the global environment and any life on those testing sites.

This act would put a limit, or at least introduce a procedure, for atomic testing, for a country to test atomic bombs on a location, they have to verify that there is no life on such a land, and if there IS indeed life, they must give the life a safe evac location for the period of testing and while the radiation subsides. If the people who currently own the land, do not want the country to test nuclear devices on their island, the country must find another location to do testing. Or, the country could just invade the island. Anyway, limiting of testing could also be useful, as if an island is too close to something, like a major port, or a city on the coastline, could cause fallout to go through the air, and kill the city and various other places.

What do you all think, this would be my first World Assembly proposal, I want to know what you all think about it. Please post comments, suggestions, or possible improvements. :)

OOC: While there is no rfequisite 'form' for a resolution to be written in, I would suggest that you go look at the already passsed proposals - they give very constructive ideas of what a decently written proposal looks like/ how it is formatted. Also looking through them give one knowledge of what proposals have already been passed - duplicating a proposal, or founding your's on the basis of another ( requiring that proposal to remain to enforce/ bulwark/ enable yours - often called a 'House of Cards' violation) are both illegal, and will get a proposal deleted.

I do not have any idea if yours is either of those, I was just mentioning them as some of the various violations out there.

Best advise - read thye forum stickies, and don't get upset about negative reactions - they aren't directed at you personally ( or shouldn't be) but at the proposal, and are mostly there to point out errors or weaknesses.

Very kind of you to try and limit how each nation may test their weapons. Noble, in fact. Now please let this fade away as the amount of support we ourselves can muster for this could fit in a teacup. It is far too vague, and a topic which will garner little or no support.

There's life just about everywhere, except (perhaps) up in space, even if it's only bacteria or archaeans...

I plan on expanding my testing of the effects of air detonated atomic bombs before this goes into effect. I can think of a small corner of the world that has known nothing but strife during it's entire existence, and testing there is the cure.

To be honest, I consider, KNOWINGLY testing atomic weaponry on an island that has intelligent fully developed life (human, and animal alike), is Genocide. You know what you are doing, and you do it, I say that should be considered genocide, and we put a limit on such tests.

This reads more like a bunch of ideas rather than an actual draft of a proposal. As it stands, this does little more than set out your ideas; it doesn't really do anything. What exactly is the "limit" or "procedure" you wish to put in place?
