Repeal "Repeal "Repeal "On the Sixth Day of Christmas"""

ABHORRED that a repeal was repealed,

AGHAST that this resolution repeals a repeal of a repeal,

ASHAMED at how much of these clauses so far starts with an "A",

Condemn Tretrid

A resolution to express shock and dismay at a nation or region.

Nominee:

The Security Council,

Noting
the absence of a joke proposal page on the Security Council,

Disgusted by the fact that Tretrid has irreversibly torn through the fourth wall,

Unimpressed by his arguments of NatSov,

Noting Tretrid's threats of violent defenestration,

Hereby condemns Tretrid.

Desription: World Assembly,

Noting that millions die each year from dank meme overdoses.

Recognizing that Pepe the Frog is a hate symbol.

HEREBY

Bans all dank memes in member states.

Tear Down the Fourth Wall

The World Assembly,

Noting
that the Fourth Wall prevents free activity in the World Assembly,

Acknowledging that nations, wherever they be, are inherently free nations, and do not deserve a Fourth Wall,

Concerned by the fact that the Fourth Wall does not seem to do its very job,

Hereby tears down the Fourth Wall.

Powell shouts, "This is the GA, not the SC!"
She wrestles Williamsen to the ground, and throws him out the window. A crunch is heard as he hit Fairburn's car.
Shortly afterwards...
"Condemn Tretrid" was removed from the floor.

Ban Joke SC Proposals in the GA Joke Proposal Megathread
The World Assembly,
SURPRISED that a member nation entered an SC proposal in the GA,
ASHAMED that this happened,
NOTING that this should never happen again,
The World Assembly hereby:
BANS all SC Joke Proposals in the GA.

Against the Fascist War on Christmas

The World Assembly,

WISHING to spread Yuletide cheer across the multiverse,

CONCERNED that many of the ambassadors are Grinches and Scrooges,

BELIEVING this to be the cause of all the repeals of Christmas-related resolutions,

DISGUSTED that some people say 'Happy Holidays' instead of 'Merry Christmas',

APPALLED that snowflakes have been removed from red coffee cups,

IGNORING the fact that many modern Christmas traditions have roots in Pagan rituals,

HEREBY:

  1. SENDS the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Christmas Present and Christmas Yet to Come to every ambassador's office,

  2. INSULTS all the ambassadors with a catchy song sang by the late Thurl Ravenscroft,

  3. DEFENESTRATES every ambassador who says the phrase 'Happy Holidays',

  4. REQUIRES every red coffee cup to feature snowflakes,

  5. REPEALS all the repeals of Christmas-related resolutions,

  6. DECLARES every ambassador who supports the War on Christmas to be a fascist.

On The Fifth Day of Christmas

The World Assembly,

NOTING that it is the fifth day of Christmas,

FURIOUS that this resolution's title begins with the word 'on',

ANNOYED that many people erroneously sing 'calling birds' on the fourth verse instead of 'colly birds' and 'golden rings' on the fifth verse instead of 'gold rings',

HEREBY:

  1. SENDS to its true love:
    • FIVE...
    • GOLD...
    • RINGS!!!
    • Four colly birds,
    • Trois poules francaises,
    • Two turtle doves, and
    • A partridge in a pear tree,
  2. ESTABLISHES the World Assembly Commission Against Mondegreens (WACAM) which shall ensure that people sing 'colly birds' on the fourth verse instead of 'calling birds' and that people sing 'gold rings' on the fifth verse instead of 'golden rings',

  3. CLARIFIES that the gifts specified in Clause One are to be sent and not given.

As they were laughing at that resolution, a paper airplane drifted in through the window. They unfolded it and read:

Ban Defenestration

The World Assembly,

Noting
the vibrant tradition of defenestration through the history of the World Assembly and the predecessor United the Bureaucracy that Cannot be Named,

Noting, however, the recent trend of defenestration that does hit the pool,

Noting the inordinate amount of personal damage defenestration has caused, along with health hazards,

Noting that all of this clauses always seem to start with Noting,

HEREBY

Defines defenestration as being thrown out a window,

Regulates the procedure so the defenestrated will not get hurt, and personal property will not have damage,

Bans defenestration in areas where it would be unsafe,

Creates the International Activity Safety Administration to enforce these rules.

Repeal "The Fifth Day of Christmas"

The World Assembly,

Noting
that 5 resolutions concerning a holiday is quite excessive,

Concerned that the sixth day of Christmas came before the fifth day,

Hereby repeals "The Fifth Day of Christmas."

I would argue that it's worse than you think, because if you listen to the lyrics, then you realise that the partridge is not just sent on the first day, but on each subsequent day as well. And that applies to every present except for the twelve drummers drumming.

(A bonus point to anyone who can give me the total number of individual items sent across all twelve days).

It turns out it is the sum from 1 - 12 of the sum of 1 to d (where d is the current day).

Which is, as Aclion says, 364 :)

(My middle daughter's maths teacher likes setting this every year as a puzzle for the kids. Teaches them to think laterally and find different ways of working out equations).

Repeal "Ban on Grinches"

Category: Repeal Resolution: The AN's one Proposed by: Tinhampton

DESCRIPTION: The World Assembly,
Noting that Grinches (people who despise holidays) are banned from WAHQ;
Also noting that said Grinches will be ejected by a special committee;
Confused that the target resolution states a denial of the existence of Grinches;
Believing that this resolution should be struck from the record because of this;
Disappointed that this resolution failed to recognise the more famous type of Grinch - that is, the one that steals holidays rather than opposes them;
National Sovereignty; and
Angered at this resolution's lack* of a pound of Natives, another pound of the Black Hawks, a couple of HYDRA Commands, a cup of Lone Wolves United, a pinch of ground mace, half a cup of The West Pacific and some salt and pepper;

HEREBY REPEALS "Ban on Grinches".

So - here's the thing. While the show "How I Met Your Mother" got ever more crap as it went on, there was one episode early on called "How Lily Stole Christmas" where they used the word "grinch" as a substitute for another word. A much more impolite word. The kind of word you aren't allowed to say in polite company. A word that refers to a part of the female anatomy. And rhymes with the name of the Secretary of State for Health in Her Majesty's Government (and actually describes him pretty accurately as well).

As a result now ANY time I see the word "grinch" ANYWHERE my mind automatically substitutes this other word......

(So - with that in mind - re read the above proposal. I dare you!).

On The Seventh Day of Christmas

The World Assembly,

NOTING that it is the seventh day of Christmas,

FURIOUS that this resolution's title begins with the word 'on',

ANNOYED that many people erroneously sing 'calling birds' on the fourth verse instead of 'colly birds' and 'golden rings' on the fifth verse instead of 'gold rings',

Along with all the other issues this has brought up, does this mean that The WA is the true love of every member nation? (because if The WA is sending these gifts, and the song specifically says "on the nth day of Christmas my true love sent to me"......)

On The Eighth Day of Christmas

The World Assembly,

NOTING that it is the eighth day of Christmas,

SADDENED that the song's theme of birds ends at this point,

FURIOUS that this resolution's title begins with the word 'on',

ANNOYED that many people erroneously sing 'calling birds' on the fourth verse instead of 'colly birds' and 'golden rings' on the fifth verse instead of 'gold rings',

HEREBY:

  1. SENDS to its true love:
    • Eight maids a-milking,
    • Seven swans a-swimming,
    • Six geese a-laying,
    • FIVE...
    • GOLD...
    • RINGS!!!
    • Four colly birds,
    • Trois poules francaises,

  2. ESTABLISHES the World Assembly Commission Against Mondegreens (WACAM) which shall ensure that people sing 'colly birds' on the fourth verse instead of 'calling birds' and that people sing 'gold rings' on the fifth verse instead of 'golden rings',
