Gun Law Relaxation Act

Category: Gun Control | Act: Relax | Proposed by: Winner12345

NOTING that certain nations have innocent people who cannot protect themselves from criminals and oppressive governments due to the fact they have had their guns banned;

DEFINING "gun", for the purposes of this resolution, as a weapon where each operation has to be done manually and fires bullets no larger than three-quarters inch in diameter;

BELIEVING many lives could have been saved if innocent people were able to protect themselves using guns,

AGREEING that the increased availability of guns will lead to economic prosperity among member-states,

CREATES the Committee of Gun and Ammunition Sales (CoGAS) to create minimum sales of guns and ammunition in all member nations as outlined below;

•there shall be 1 gun available for every 5 citizens;
•there shall be 1000 bullets available for every 5 citizens;

MANDATES that all WA nations allow the following;

•all mentally competent adults with a clean criminal record shall be able to own guns and ammunition and shall be allowed to purchase an unlimited quantity of these items;
•all businesses shall be able to sell an equally unlimited quantity of guns and ammunition on their premises;

No it is not. People in the ACA speciffically the founder and delegate are interested in it. They plan to be the ones to submit it.

If you did indeed resign then you cannot submit anything to the WA, so this is pointless.

Even if you could submit it is almost certainly not going to reach quorum, ever.

Ugh...if you REALLY want a critique of this try this, from the minor issues to the biggest:

1. A lot of it could be reworded to flow better. The spelling mistakes are gone (at last) but the phrasing isn't great. It reads rather awkwardly.

2. Your definition of "gun" is still fairly poor.

3. You've got a fundamental problem of forcing nations to have specific numbers of weapons available. MANY nations are NOT going to accept that in the slightest, even pro-gun nations.

4. A vast, vast number of nations are going to verhemently oppose you dictating their gun control laws.

Suffice to say, the very premise of your proposal is fatally flawed in that it is deeply unpopular. You will not get this passed. Ever.

And what if the Novraslav government doesn't feel comfortable distributing 15-million firearms and 1.5-billion rounds of ammunition to the Novraslav population at the expense of the national treasury? What the Novraslav people are content with the fact that government forces, and only government forces, are allowed to carry firearms? After all, the Socialist Republic of Novraslavia is one of the safest countries in all of Krandovia. Maybe the people are fine with the way things are in Novraslavia and don't want backwards lunatics dictating otherwise.

Even if this ludicrous proposal somehow reaches the floor and is passed into law, which it won't, don't expect the Novraslav government to obey such ridiculous bills.

Although gun ownership in Kaputer is almost universal, it is not the job of the WA to dictate gun policies to member nations especially with a horrendous proposal like this. Once again the actions of Winner are both laughable, and sad at the same time.

It was badly written at the start, was badly written in the intermediate drafts, and continues to be badly written now. We predict that it shall continue to be badly written.

IC: This will never pass as the basic premise is, as has been stated by - well - everybody, completely flawed. The draft could be written by Thomas Jefferson and the premise would still be flawed. Let this drop. It will never ever gather enough support from delegates to reach quarom, let alone ever come to a vote. Your continued insistance that it somehow will pass despite universal opposition is just becoming sad.
