[DRAFT] Higher Education Access Act

Postby Rashlandia » Sun Jul 15, 2012 7:36 pm

The following proposal is on the proposal floor, if you'd kindly give me your comments and approve of it:

REALIZING that education plays an essential role in economic advancement and industry of member nations.

ALSO REALIZING that education plays an essential part in avoiding mass coercion and demagogy.

DEFENDING education and job training as a basic human right.

IN ACCORDANCE WITH THESE PRINCIPLES:

DEMANDING that all member states give grants to students for the purpose of higher education in accordance with:

A) The candidate's financial status and family background
B) The places available in higher institutions
C) The candidate's intellectual motivation and field in which he desires to enter.
D) His or her disabilities and/or illnesses

URGING member states to adjust their tax policy to cover this expense.

Those resolutions do not refer to granting money for higher education

And why is additional legislation on such needed? The right to education implicitly guarantees the funding to follow.

We must agree with our Bergnovinaian colleague, this seems to be duplication and therefore pointless.

Former legislation only refers to access to education, not grants given.

IF the Berzigovnian nation were correct, my proposal would have been swept from the proposal floor immediately.

Not Technically Illegal =/= Good Proposal

This is why it is strongly recommended that drafts be posted here Prior to submission. Once posted debate is useless as no changes can be made, and by submitting without debate you are, in effect, telling the WA that you are so good at writing that debate is unnecessary.

This draft recommends otherwise.

Now, please be so kind as to explain to us just why the WA should micromanage grants instead of letting each nation decide what is the best course of action for their own students in their own country?

For a fact, no 'job training' is not a basic human right. Job training is a basic necessity. You can always find a job that does not require training. I decline. WA does not need this sort of legislature.

No... it is swept off as soon as it is deemed as illegal by the moderation.
