The Maltropian delegate stood up for the first time in long months.
"We note with some... er, trepidation, that section 5 of the second Operative Clause begins with "Create" rather than "Creating". Aside from this grievous error, this proposal has somehow attained the full support of the Maltropian Kingdom."
The Delegate sat down again, for who knows how long.

This made me lol more than the proposal.

In the Name of the Eternal Kawaii, may the Cute One be praised

As drinking milk is theft from the cow, we wholeheartedly support its restriction. Won't somebody think of those poor, hungry calves who are forced to go to bed without supper?

And unless the Charter of Sapience goes through (which, courtesy of the Anti-Ponyist Alliance, will never happen, quite annoyingly), they will be unable to make such a claim.

Okay, yes, I laughed a little at the proposal itself, but only just after I facepalmed. But Lanos takes the cake for the biggest laugh yet in my book. Nice work on the Sentient Milk People. Never though of that one.

Technically you did but it seems to be a WA tradition to bring up puppets when strange topics are being discussed (like Dirty Prostitutes during the CPA debate).

With all due respect, the average milk period of a cow is around 12-14 months. For the calf the most important period is the first twelve hours. They are fed colostrum for the first few days of life. (First milk following calving. High in fat, protein, and immunoglobulins that may be directly absorbed by the newborn calf in its first 24 hours of life. ) Then they are moved to discarded milk or milk replacer. (The best protein sources for milk replacer are from dairy products.) So as noe can clearly see, the calf gets the superior quality "good stuff" as it should be. In the mean time, when a cow's gotta lactate, she's gotta lactate.

So either that milk is going to go to waste (and that's a polutant under this draft, remember) or it has to be consumed. Recall that there was a certain religious organization that prohibited the drinking of milk during a cerain period of the year. It was centuries before refrigeration and preservation of any kind. Their only solution was to convert the milk to cheese for consumption after the fasting period. Salted butter was also made for this reason.

So therefore, it is only fair and right to so collect this precious ambrosa of life so as to make the most delightful butter, the most dangerous cheese, and of course ICE CREAM!

Which is clearly third to that of sushi and tourist on a stick.

Oh, but what of the other creatures from whence milk is stolen? Should the cow be held above others and given deference?

Kawaiian religious law says that any species of animals can be used either as working animals or as a source of food, not both. Cattle have traditionally been employed as draft animals (pulling ploughs, for example), sheep and goats produce wool, and camels are beasts of burden, so those species all count as 'working animals' and eating their meat or drinking their milk is therefore forbidden...
