[JOKE] Covering Everything

Postby Darenjo » Thu Sep 01, 2011 4:31 pm

I got bored. Plus I'm really quite tired of these things.

Category: Political Stability | Strength: Strong

The World Assembly,

AWARE of the prominence of the General Assembly, the original Snakepit besides the Organization-That-Shall-Not-Be-Named, in international legislation,

IRKED by its constant attention to areas of law that really do not require international legislation,

IDENTIFYING the more recent ones as the following:
- Gambling
- Prostitutes
- Nukes
- Drugs

ALSO NOTING the obsession with adding to the WA bureaucracy the GA seems to have

DECIDING to cover them all at once, in order to get them out of the way,

The World Assembly hereby:

1a. BANS gambling for all those over the age of majority in each individual member nation
1b. LEGALIZES gambling for all those under said ages of majority
1c. ORDERS member nations to have an age of majority in order to comply with this,

2a. DEMANDS that all member nations shut up about prostitution, as it reminds us all way too much of the abortion debate
2b. MENTIONS abortion, just because it seemingly has to be mentioned in every proposal

3a. BANS nations from using nuclear weapons, unless they are being used to kill people;
3b. BANS the buying or selling of nuclear weapons, unless said buying or selling is with the intention of using said nuclear weapon in accordance with Clause 3a;

4a. ORDERS enough pot to keep the ambassadors of all "Let's legalize the drugs!" proposals quiet for at least three decades;
4b. BANS all anti-drug ambassadors from the Stranger's Bar;

5. CREATES the Omnipotent WA Watch, to ensure compliance - this authority is to placed at the whim of Secretary-General Gratwick; gnomes will carry out all other roles, and shall "staff" the Watch;

6. TAMBIÉN USANDO ESPAÑOL: porque nosotros podemos;

Absolutely, totally, 100% against. Where are the definitions? And why is there only one abortion reference? :unsure:

Dr., I'm sure I could assuage your concerns if you would please explain which terms you need definitions for.

And of course more abortion references could be worked in, with more support. Maybe in Chinese?

I recommend to the ambassador from Darenjo that the title of this resolution be called "On Covering Everything"

(Really, what' up with all the proposals being titled "On _________"? Be more specific! Talk about vague titles.)

propose it, just to see how long before it's deleted, and if it isn't we should pass it

OOC: It's illegal - no joke proposals.

IC: Codger, adding "On" would be good for keeping with the theme.

Connopolis: I'll add that as soon as I can!

OOC: they used to put fictional and/or cartoon characters like Mickey mouse in ballots. But they had to stop when they won more votes than real candidates..... LOL

IC: Also, it's illegal because of banning

The great "On" should be saved for resolutions that really cover everything, like "On Abortion". :)

Since then we've used "On" on trivial matters like "On Expiration Dates", "On Genetically Modified Foods" and "On Humanitarian Aid". As well has there are semi-serious drafts "On Travel", "On Expatriation" and "On Conflict of Laws" on these forums.
