Going to acknowledge up front that I did not read all 41 pages of forum talk before posting this reply, SO, if this is redundant, my sincerest apologies.

BUT, I see no need to force governments to provide any of these services for free, especially if prostitution is legal for gainful employment. This creates a slippery slope, should the government be responsible for personal safety devices for construction workers (steel-toed boots, hard hats, etc)?

Perhaps, strike the 'free' part of the above measure, and then, I would support the measure.

That is not an issue that was appropriately addressed, I believe. Thank you. Yes, not all nations believe that the government needs to baby its citizenry with workplace standards, or even cheap healthcare. The C.D.S.P. wouldn't bother administering anything to prostitutes were this to pass. They chose to become street-walking sex-peddlers, they can handle their own safety.

I believe work place standards is a passed resolution.

You don't seem to get that your current wording allows nations to outlaw prostitution in all but name. It is indicative of the poor drafting and writing that this proposal is made up of in its entirety. Nothing stops nations from restricting prostitution so much and with such absurd regulations that it is still technically prohibited.

You CANNOT ban prostitution under this law, end of story

But it doesn't affect this instance. That resolution is in regards to hazardous jobs, such as construction sites, hazardous materiel work, etc. Nothin in that indicates that we need to offer free condoms, free STI testing, or anything else for hookers, even if prostitution were legal.

IN ALL BUT NAME, I can. I can add regulations that say that prostitutes must have three Physics PHDs to work. Or must be over the age of 90. Or place a 200% tax on them. That way, prostitution is all but illegal, since nobody will be able to reach those standards.

So you are wrong.

Ambassador, Ms. Harper didn't assume that brothels would be made compulsory, but whoever operates them are likely to, yet not always, have complete disregard for the community around them. Furthermore, this draft doesn't allow us to ban prostitution where it causes a social menace. I know exactly the intent of this draft: to allow criminals to exploit vulnerable individuals.

Very funny, not the reason of this resolution. What disregard might that be?

I have already tried this method Ms. Ryberg. It seems our OP is just too stubborn to realize that.

Exactly, your just talking not believing what your saying. Your just using methods to stop me which arent working because I strongly believe in what i am saying.

I would like to see what he says to that claim though.

If this passes, all prostitutes will be required to have no less then three Doctorate-level degrees in Theoretical Physics, they will be charged a 200% tax on their income, they will be required to be over the age of 95, and they will not be allowed to solicit outside of designated areas, the designated areas being in the middle of an empty warehouse.

i believe in what I am saying. Telling me I dont believe in something is a pet peeve of mine. I was telling Ms. Harper that you refuse to beleive that sex trafficking will increase if prostitution is legalized even thouhg I have facts that prove so.

Its great that you believe in something but you are refusing to accept evidence in order to keep your beliefs alive, which is sheer ignorance and highly unqualified for a place that discusses international law.

3- Yes, low cost of free sti screenings

1) Out of the package yes. When kept in storage, no. Latex and Sheep intestine deteriorate in heat, making condoms less protective and give them a chance of breaking or tearing. When you take health in school, the teacher will talk about this.

2) Because they are mass produced, that's why there is discounts. Because stores have a large amount of a product in supply, they get discounts for having a specific occupation. Condoms are $20 a package, pencils are 88 cents...they make almost nothing off the product to begin with, thats why they give discounts. As for individual brothels, they might buy cheap condoms from factories that are defective, to keep from buying high quality. Put up a prety sign that says high quality and you can bypass your legislation

3) DO you know how much STI screenings cost?

And now all of a sudden Air conditioners dont work? People hold condoms in their pockets pocketbooks backpacks ect are you saying those never work? :palm:
Ha, nice try. Condoms are massed produced. Pencils come in packs amd high quality are well known brands.
Sti screening may be expensive but at the cost of someones health it money shouldnt matter. Also, it would be at the governments expense. Btw this is under the recommends part so you do not HAVE to use this.

You really do have a candy-coated view of how the world works...

OOC: how old are you? Maybe when you grow up, you might see that the police are often too busy to handle something as unbelievable as a human trafficking operation from a whore. They have jobs to do, often time with cases that have substantial evidence. Just because a whore walks into a police station and claims to be being trafficked doesn't mean the police are going to A. believe her, B. have the manpower to delve into that, or C. get to it in a reasonable fashion. Sorry, but a murder case, a serial killer, or even a cut-and-dry shootout takes priority over somebody who's entire story needs to be checked out. That could tie down several officers for several days.

You are making no sense what so ever, you claim human trafficking is such large problem, but you say police wouldnt look into a claim? Really dude? Really??

1) Air conditioners can be fixed so your example is invalid. Any place that gives off heat has the potential of damaging a condom. They have the greater chance for breaking and tearing.

2) Proof?

He does claim that but cops dont go off what a "victim" say....they have to check their story and backgrounds which take work. When something like this is given at the same time when a murder or gang violence is happening...it has a tendency of being put off.

That's it. I'm going to author a blocker proposal to counter this, and to counter future attempts to legalize or ban prostitution. I've seen one too many debates on the matter, and the most recent one (this one) is just sickening.

It would be a pleasure. I will start with my original reason for this draft, bodily sovereignty. Prostitution is a ancient and beneficial occurrence that we all should have the right to do. Why should any government have the right to limit what we do with our body? The people who oppose have tried comparing it to theift, but the fact is prostitution is between to CONSENTING ADULTS! Both parties know the risk and agree. Why do we stop them? They have been saying it will rise human trafficking rates. Here is my response to that; Many people traffick illegal prostitutes against the prostitutes will. The prostitute cannot go to authorities in fear they will be arrested their self for being a prostitute. But if this is legalized, they ignore the fact that prostitutes would undoubtedly go to authorities for their freedom. So in the long run this resolution lowers human trafficking rates. Over all, this is help your economy for it is also a business that has no reason to be banned. If you have questions, pelase ask. :)

Its not. We've already proven this.

Prostitution is a ancient and beneficial occurrence that we all should have the right to do.

So is stealing....at least for the thief.

Why should any government have the right to limit what we do with our body?

Its not bodily sovereignty. Its a business, remember you've already accepted this as fact.

The people who oppose have tried comparing it to theift, but the fact is prostitution is between to CONSENTING ADULTS!

Consent has nothing to due with my argument. Stealing is an anciet practice that has benefits. Should we legalize anyhting with those properties?

Both parties know the risk and agree. Why do we stop them?

Some people don't due to the WA mandated abstinence education. We stop them due to live-risking diseases.

They have been saying it will rise human trafficking rates. Here is my response to that; Many people traffick illegal prostitutes against the prostitutes will.

Ok.

The prostitute cannot go to authorities in fear they will be arrested their self for being a prostitute.

Ok.

But if this is legalized, they ignore the fact that prostitutes would undoubtedly go to authorities for their freedom.

And if they are in another country that they do not know the language of?

So in the long run this resolution lowers human trafficking rates.

Nope. Ive already provided proof to this being false.

Over all, this is help your economy for it is also a business that has no reason to be banned.

Bodysnatching is a business too yet it is highly illegal. It pays a lot and yet it is illegal in many countries. Why is that?

Consent has nothing to due with my argument. Stealing is an anciet practice that has benefits. Should we legalize anyhting with those properties? WELL IT HAS TO DO WITH MINE. STEALING HAS NO BENIFITS FOR THE HOST, BUT PROSTITUTION DOES

Both parties know the risk and agree. Why do we stop them?

Some people don't due to the WA mandated abstinence education. We stop them due to live-risking diseases. WELL THIS RESOLUTION INFORMS PEOPLE.

They have been saying it will rise human trafficking rates. Here is my response to that; Many people traffick illegal prostitutes against the prostitutes will.

Ok. THANKYOU FOR PROVING MY POINT

The prostitute cannot go to authorities in fear they will be arrested their self for being a prostitute.

Ok. ^^^

But if this is legalized, they ignore the fact that prostitutes would undoubtedly go to authorities for their freedom.

And if they are in another country that they do not know the language of? Usually it is with border nations so the languages are virtually one and the same. (ex: USA, CANADA)

So in the long run this resolution lowers human trafficking rates.
