Category: Social Justice

This act mandates that all nations develop the policies (listed below) that encourage the development of workers' co-operatives, credit unions, small businesses, and worker-managed, publicly owned corporations.

These policies include:

I. The establishment of publicly funded Democratic Business Organizations in all nations that participate in the World Assembly. These organizations would invest and create a system of decentralized advertising for democratic businesses. These organizations would also have the power to regulate these types of businesses in their respective nations.

II. Creating publicly funded Profits and Prices Regulation Comittees that would stop price-gouging and unfair business practices. These comittees would direct profits toward workers (in non-democratic industries) and would implement a fair system (if need be) of price and wage controls through the advice of economists, workers, investors, and other vital human resources. These Comittees are NOT allowed to plan and allocate economic resources. They are only allowed regulated control over prices and wages.

III. A new tax system that rewards work-sharing, co-operatives, and small businesses with tax credits, tax cuts, and paper-work reduction.

ALL World Assembly nations must participate in this act.

Its too bloggy to be a draft sir.

Looking at some of the commentary below, I'd love to support this, but it has too many problems. Not all WA members economies are structured to fit this nor is there an option clause. It may also be an ideological ban...I'm not sure. I don't know why there ARE ideological bans in the first place, but, okay...

Shareholders already have a say. YOU want to give the workers the same say without any financial stock in the company. And I ask you: How is that a good thing? I addressed that issue in an earlier post.

It will also help relieve the tensions of workers, their managers, and executives...do u think it's fine to submit and by the way I know this is a stupid question, but how do u submit a proposal after your done with your draft?...cant find a submit button anywhere on the WA page...

Hey Communal please read the third version if you want to support this act...its new, improved, and much better. I also talked to a moderator and he said it was fine if I could rework it (which I did)...he didnt say that it blatantly banned an ideology......how do I get an endorsment *blushing even more*.

Find two nations in your region that are willing to give you an endorsement.

Er... or more to the point join the World Assembly, which I don't think you have done.

Also, I'm in the West Pacific, not DSA, though that may change as I get more experience.

It wont promote anything! How will this improve productivity if all it does is damage big businesses? The businesses wont have any productivity at all since it will be BANKRUPT!

I endorse this, but I think that may be meaningless, since I am not in the DSA as of yet.

Correct, but according to your nation you've only applied to join the WA. I don't see where you've actually activated your WA application. Perhaps have your representative check the old email spam bucket?

OOC: Check your email address in your settings and ensure it's valid. Then click the apply button again on the WA page. Usually only takes about 24 hours to come through.

This act is far too much a breach of National Sovereignty for most (if not all) nations in the WA to stomach.

I would sooner see an orphanage burn down on Christmas, all souls lost, then see this proposal pass. And if the only way you can defend the proposal is by asking me to stop posting, well that doesn't exactly boast well for your bill.

How? If workers have the right to make decisions on how their industries are run then they will be more likely to work because they see that they actually have power and arent being bossed around by their bosses...they are working in a participatory format with their bosses. This doesnt mean workers can just do anything with their business...they are of course still limited by veto power...

Workers are being paid to work. That's it.

If they want participatory power, they can buy shares of the company.

Why is this a difficult concept for you?

Workers are paid to work...and they can buy shares in a company, but they still have very limited power and definately do not have a participatory relationship...
