temp dropped- On Cannibalism

Postby Bisim » Sat Apr 09, 2011 3:57 pm

On Cannibalism

Category- Moral Decency

Strength- Mild

DEFINES cannibalism, as the act of consuming of human flesh, skin, or other organs.

ALSO DEFINES a cannibal as one who exercise the act of cannibalism.

NOTING that there are cases, such as being stranded on a remote island, were there is no other source of food

CONCERNED that the body of a human- deceased or otherwise- may be regarded simply as a source of substance.

AWARE that the human body should be treated with respect.

ALSO AWARE of the impact that Cannibalism could have on the friends and family of the cannibalized.

With the above in mind, The World Assembly hereby:

CREATES the Committee on Cannibalism, CoC, to determine cases in which cannibalism is acceptable.

STRONGLY SUGGESTS that states take proper action to deal with cannibals within their respective nations.

PROHIBITS the needless eating of the human body.

CONDEMNS the act of cannibalism, and those who participate in the act of cannibalism for non-survival purposes.

Eat me?

I've always wanted to yell that on the topic of cannibalism

Our nation is ruled by The Lion. Does that mean that he will be in trouble for eating his subjects? ;-)

Also another useless committee.

Though, that said, we'd like to see Mr. Koopman file his form letter :p

Eating someone against their wishes would be something of consideration but the size of the topic concerned is relatively small to be considered an international issue. Most modern countries outlaw cannibalism nowadays, but for this topic it could be hard to legislate without hurting cultures that do human sacrifice: well, non-consensual sacrifice is already murder.

Overall Ms. Harper feels that the topic is not worth legislating at international level.

Why do we need a "committee on cannibalism"? Are there a few bored gnomes around who need something pointless to fill their time? Call us when there is something worthwhile to debate.
Everything you know about me is wrong. Or a rumor. Something like that.

Well, I believe I've seen some Gnomes dressed as Maytag repairmen, so yeah there are probably a few gnomes looking for something to do.
