The schools of Lycrabon have been separated into their respective conferences. Here’s our preview of the ten and their conference title chances:
1. UNIVERSITY OF LAKEVIEW
The Pirates find themselves in the Royal Mountain Conference, with the likes of Saugeais State and Newmanistan’s Emperor Justin I. Those frontrunners and Lakeview should be in a tight three-way battle for both the regular season and conference tournament titles.
PROJECTION: 20-13, fifth.
2. LAKE SHORE STATE UNIVERSITY
Lake Shore State ends up in the Pioneer League, where they’ll battle Bugny A & M, New Washington Finance, and Qazox-Pika City. The Valhalla Table (student section) will need every ounce of throat to spur he Vikings on.
PROJECTION: 17-16, seventh.
3. UNIVERSITY OF NORTH MAGOOTZ
The Lions may have gotten a break, avoiding all of the Newmanisani schools. However, they did draw Astern Point from Mytannion and Qazox’s Porter College in One Big Conference. The Lions Den student section should have plenty to scream about.
PROJECTION: 24-9, first.
4. LYCRABON WAR COLLEGE
The Warriors have the most civilized student section - being the military academy. The only competition it looks to be that they have in the Emperor Justin I Conference is Catherina from Delaclava.
PROJECTION: 23-10, tie for first.
5. YOUNGSTOWN STATE UNIVERSITY
The newest school in Lycrabon may have the toughest road. The fittingly named Octavius Conference has Southport, Valhalla, Yorkshire.
The Igloo most likely will be very cold.
PROJECTION: 7-26, last.
6. PHILIPSBURG STATE UNIVERSIITY
The Uniballer Conference. The only downside is getting placed with Loudon Empire. Other than that, the Gorillas have a very good chance to get an at-large bid, if not the automatic.
PROJECTION: 20-13, second.
7. FAIR HAVEN STATE UNIVERSITY
The Jays made the only outside recruiting moves, picking up Austin Trevor and Alex Hutras. Most every school in the Goldsould Conference can very easily win the conference, and possibly the whole thing. Unfortunately for Fair Haven, there might be too many good teams.
PROJECTION: 18-15, fourth.
8. NEWCASTLE UNIVERSITY
The ‘Canes are one of four who could take the Azure Skies Conference auto bid. Loudon Empire is the early favorite, and a prohibitive favorite to hoist the hardware at the end of the year.
But the pride of the capital will make things interesting.
PROJECTION: 20-13, third.
9. NORTHERN DINAGAT STATE UNIVERSITY
The Panthers, representing the Welcome City, are looking into hosting a challenge cup rivalry with Newmanistan’s University of Tundra Falls. Tundra Falls, incidentally, will most likely be the Panthers’ roadblock to running away with the Big 11 Conference title.
PREDICTION: 26-7, second.
10. SALTVILLE STATE UNIVERSITY
The Dragons will challenge for the Woodfield Conference title, a possible deference to the NSCF conference of a similar nature in Lycrabon. Their fellow Dragons, Ramusok Capital - who managed to steal two Lycrabonian recruits - will be one of the few challengers to their title, but it may not be enough.
PREDICTION: 31-2, first.
All schools are familiar with each other, having all challenged in the LCAA. The official Lycrabon-only preseason poll:
1. Lakeview (1 first place vote)66 pts.
2. Lake Shore State (2) 59
3. War College (3) 57
4. North Magootz 55
5. Newcastle (1) 54 *
6. Philipsburg State 54
7. Saltville State (2) 52
8. Youngstown State (1) 52
9. Fair Haven State 51
10. Northern Dinagat State 50
* points ties were broken by number of first-place votes; that is why Newcastle (1-0) and Saltville State (2-1) are higher ranked.
