OOC: As promised, this is the IC thread for the event. All OOC posting is to be done in the sign ups thread to avoid clutter.
This thread will feature the play schedule once teams are finalized, previous round scores and the overall ladder.
RP bonuses will be awarded. Some things you might want to consider RPing are injuries, suspensions for poor conduct (ie hitting someone), training sessions, previous performances the lead up to the game and most importantly the game itself. This is freeform RP so you can do it in anyway you like.

Eddie Evans wrote:Hello and welcome to the first season of the NationStates Australian Football League! This league will comprise of twelve different australian rules teams from around the globe participating in this twelve round international tournament!

James McCallahan wrote:Yes Eddie it sure is good to be here for this season. So lets go through some of the mechanics of what we are about to see.
The league will comprise of a twelve round qualifying series in which every team will play each other once to decide the ladder rankings. By the end of the twelve rounds, the top six teams will advance through to the three round knockout finals. Teams ranked 3 & 4 on the ladder will play each other while 5 &6 will also play each other. Teams 1 & 2 will have a bye for the first final round with the winning teams from the two matches advancing. Winners from the first two finals matches will play while teams 1 & 2 will also play each other. Winners from both matches will advance to the grand final to decide the overall winner

Eddie Evans wrote:Its quite a complex set up but its definitely a clear road to the top. For teams, the first twelve rounds is about establishing themself in the top six to secure a spot in the finals. Of course, reaching the top two spots on the ladder promises the benefit of a week off to recover and train. So, will the teams battle it out for the top spots or stay contented with a finals berth?

James McCallahan wrote:I don't know Eddie, but what I do know is that this season will promise the fast paced, high flying action which Australian Rules Football is world reknown for. So join us for the season as we take in the high leaps, high scores and high excitement that Australian Rules Football can offer!
