The Warkus International Football/Soccer Cup II - OOC Thread

Postby Warkus » Sun Jan 16, 2011 3:14 am

The Warkus International Football/Soccer Cup II

Hello reader, if you are an old dog in the NS Sports forum then you may know my previous lack of scorination skill. At the time I had no idea NSFS 3 existed, and NSFS 2 was just too complicated for me to use. In the first version of this league, I lied and said I was using NSFS 2 as a scorination, I was using dice. This was found out in the late stages of the competition. However, I downloaded NSFS 3 on my new laptop and saw it was much easier to use than NSFS 2, I have spent some time practicing with it and I feel I need to use it in a real competition. I am not known for my skill with scorinators and because of the dice fiasco, I have recieved a reputation that labels me as a bad host. I want you to enter or keep track of this competition, I want to show you I have the skills to host an NS Sports Competition. Like many people, I wish to host a large event in these forums some day, and keeping my reputation here will not help me get to my goal. I feel my skills are improving and that I can host my own events. So please participate or monitor the competition.

But now, here are the details:

Scorination will be done with NSFS 3. That is my word, I will be using NSFS 3 and nothing else.

The Warkus International Football/Soccer Cup II will be called the WIF/SC from now on, including in the everything thread. After signups, I will post the link to that thread and this thread will become the OOC thread which will be used for all OOC discussion and questions you may have. Their will be 8 or 16 participants, depending on popularity.

The format of the WIF/SC will be a group knockout competition, with 8/16 participants. Two/Four groups will be made and each nations will compete against everyone in their group once. The top two teams in each group will progress to the semi/quarter finals where they will compete and the winner of each match will progress to the semi/grand finals and in the case of the semi final, the winners will compete in the grand final. Winner gets bragging rights and that means putting your victory in your signaure 8)

After signup you will be directed to the everything thread where you should post your rosters, your RP modifier (Between -3.0 and +3.0, the higher the number the more attacking skill your team will have, the lower the more defensive.) and your RP Permissions (I will explain in the everything thread.)

(We will have RP bonus)

Enough with the details, I wanna enter!
To sign up, simply post saying you would like to sign up, or do an RP of you signing up. Then wait (And log in as much as you can, don't end up ceased from existance!) for signups to finish and post your roster etc. And roleplay to increase your winning chances!

Will this be during the World Cup? My team (and many others, I'm sure) will be busy with WC qualifying over the next few days.

You could always send a collegiate team or a group that just missed making the WC team. But yes, I share the same concerns. The World Cup is the biggest event in all of NS Sports. People will be unwilling to signup for another soccer tournament while it is going on.

Since we just got back onto the board and missed sign-ups for the World Cup, North Chicanan would be more than happy to compete with whatever team is deemed required for the tournament- full squad, u-23, u-21, u-17, some random college side, whatever shall work ^_^

Signups have been updated.

Civil Citzenry: I am aware that the this event may be hard to start because of the World Cup, but as mentioned by Cosumar, you could just send an Under 18's team or a reserve team.

Ok, I'm going with 8 participants because of the WC. That means we need 2 more nations to sign up.
