NS Cricket (OOC)

I was wondering if anyone was interested in NS Cricket as it's seemed to disappear.

Here are my ideas for NS Cricket:

The Governing Body-This will be called the WWCC (The Worldwide Cricket Council) and will be responsible for organising the world cup, tours and other tournaments. A new president will be elected after every world cup.

Scorinators-I have participated quite a lot recently in NS Sport but haven't scorinated before and I'm not sure whether there is a scorinator that scorinates cricket. So that will need to be sorted.

Getting Started-Once the WWCC is formed we will organise some one-day matches so we get brief rankings and the top few nations will be awarded test status, other nations will have a chance of gaining test status later if they perform consistently well, if your performances are not good enough you could have your test status removed.

RP Bonuses-As usual in NS Sports you can get RP Bonuses.

Is anyone interested?

I started that NS test cricket thread. That scorinator is coming along nicely, but it is unlikely to be finished until I'm done with hosting World Cup 54. I ran one ODI event with a scorinator of my own design; perhaps I can polish it up and post it.

That would be great! Would it be possible for you to provide us with an ODI scorinator , a Test cricket scorinator and if you have time, a Twenty20 scorinator.

Yeah, I'd take part in NS cricket. I know a fair bit about cricket being a Brit so I would really enjoy taking part.

If TBI runs a test series after [football/soccer] WC54, I would definitely be interested in exploring the idea; the NSverse clearly needs more cricketing Orthodox monks.

I would, however, caution against setting up an administrative structure at this early stage. The most successful NS sports structures have tended to evolve out of successful events, not vice versa; indeed, attempts to set up an administrative structure before an event even takes place more often than not come to some form of grief.

So let's have a test test [sic] world championship first (and as of this year we have a RL model for how this might work), just to gauge interest and practicality, and then worry about setting up governing structures if it works.

I stress that this has been a player opinion, not a mod ruling.

Yes, it's probably a better idea to get a Test World Championship established first.

I agree, we should probably start on a test match schedule soon before getting a tournament up and running. A governing body can wait.
