Oh, I withdraw my application for hosting and instead, I'd like to be in the competition. I thought each player needed to do the stats, and the host didn't. I apologize, but this is my first time doing NS Sports.

@ Wolny kraj: Don't worry. Generally, it's better to participate in a couple of tournaments first so you can get the hang of it before bidding to host.

INTERNATIONAL BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS 7
DELACLAVA BID

Experience: 44th Cup of Harmony, 11th World Bowl, 4th Baptism of Iron, 2nd Quidditch World Cup, five Scott Cups, Quinniville Carpet Championships (Tennis), Three Rivers Classic (Athletics), 5th Commonwealth Cup (upcoming).

Scorination: The most recent version of Commerce Heights' xkoranate, version 0.3.0, will be used to generate the results. Scorination will be conducted daily, with the exception of the occasional break day between phases, at around 10 PM EST (300 UTC).

Format: There will be an initial group stage, double round-robin, which will be held in the participating countries. Although I don't have control over how many people sign up, I will make sure I settle on a number where it is possible for each group to have the same number of teams. After the double round robin, the top two (or three, depending on numbers) will advance to a second group stage, which will be a single round-robin, held in Delaclava. Teams who fail to make it out of the group stage will still take part in a Best of the Rest tournament. After the single round-robin, the top two from each group will advance to the semifinals, which will be a best of three series. The losers of the semifinals will play a best of three third-place playoff, and the winners will play a best of five championship round.

At any stage of the competition, tiebreakers after wins will be: Overall point differential, H2H results, H2H point differential. If two teams are still tied on these criteria, they will play a one-game playoff. If three or more teams are still tied on these criteria, the tied teams will play a single round robin.

Rankings: The rankings that Quintessence of Dust published, as detailed in this post, will be used as the rankings.

Roleplay: I want to emphasize roleplay in this tournament, so RP will be graded heavily to reward active participants. RP will be cumulative and will not degrade over time. It will be graded based on general quality and respect for other roleplayers. Can't really set specifics for how I'm grading, considering everyone RPs very differently.

We have not historically had host votes in the past - because no one bid against Dancougar or Secristan - and so, by the same process, I think Delaclava is declared host for IBC7, and may start the tournament thread at their leisure.

30 signups is a solid number to work with. However, I will leave signups open until Saturday, January 1st at 12:00 PM EST to see if there are any last minute signups. 32, 35, and 36 are all workable numbers.
