Repulaea heads to the quarter finals!

Yes indeed! Despite a rocky road through the EIOC's group stage, our boys on the pitch have made their way into the upcoming quarter finals. Pride sweltered from the team after hearing today's joyous news. It would seem that our Repulaean team has made great strides in the international football scene in only her first international tournemant. The whole of the nation expects much from their crusading band of victors on the pitch.

Undoubtadly, however, this feat could not have come more easily without the victory match at Estadio de Truffaut on the second matchday. Who could forget Repulaea's crushing win 4-0 win against Sibirsky? This match acted as a great buffer which propelled Repulaea onto her place at the quarter finals. Only time will tell if our nation truly hones the ability to advance onto the semi finals of the EIOC, pitching our boys against the world's most experienced and hardened.

Don't miss Repulaea Vs. Albundania at Stadio Olimpico Grande, tomorrow, same time same channel!

Eastfield Lodge 1-3 Kazzoria

"Hello and welcome to Kazzoria tonight on KTVN, tonight we were going to talk about the bombings in Kazzorian cities from Indiarga and the Mossulian war. But instead we are going to talk about the most important piece of news in the history of Kazzoria. A win in a match against Eastfield Lodge! The game was a great success for Kazzoria after a string of draws. It was a great win to end this run of draws over a great opponent with a good score line. With this win Kazzoria just about manage to scrape their way into the next round, hopefully to win the game.

The scoreline in the end was three-one to us, it was one of our greatest wins in history and will be the second game to go into the "Kazzorian games of fame." The only other game to go into the "Kazzorian games of fame" was the 3-0 win away against Sarzonia. The goals were all scored by Danny Veille, including one at the wrong end. He scored an own goal in the first two minutes when a cross deflected off of him. The second goal came from a free kick, it was crossed in and he headed it into the net. His second real goal came from the halfway line, he kicked it hard and the wind carried it into the net. Th third real goal came from 3 yards from the line after the keeper spilt the ball. And with that Kazzoria face...

Oh crap; Osarius."

Finn had an idea. Sadly. He took the dynamite and his friends with his to the stadium in Eurentus. He then stuffed the dynamite in the football and wired them up. They then took the explosive footballs and put them on the pitch and in parts of the stands. They then set the explosives off and the results were well... explosive. Parts of the stands were destroyed and the pitch was like an enormous bombshell. Then the Kazzorian police walked in.

The assassin was just walking about in a small city. He had avoided the authorities so far and maybe he could now settle down to a normal life. But that wasn't to be when an enormous explosion happened around the corner. He was tempted to run away, but his curiosity got the better of him. He found a football stadium, that had smoke pouring out of the top. He ran into the stadium and found many of the chairs twisted and smashed. There were shell holes on the pitch and a bunch of armed Kazzorian troops closing in on the offenders. The people he had been trying to kill.

They were being captured. King Lucas knew that, not from his lousy army, but from the TV. He was watching it live with popcorn, just like how he watched torture. He couldn't wait until they were tortured. Their fears were known and fortunately they all had very active imaginations. He knew that he was really going to enjoy this.

The Next Big Thing?

After Ayanna Barca-Carthy's late goal against HellHorn sealed progression for Benedict di Corradi's side, the Firewood native had plenty of room to experiment in the final group match against Western cuba. And experiment he did. With only two of his regular starters for the tournament - captain Benni Watson, and Ayanna Barca-Carthy - present on the pitch in the first minute, it would be a fair to say that the Osarian side was weakened. However, this did not seem to show in their performance at all.

Rudy Atkinson dropped deep into an attacking midfield role - one he has played before to great effect for Dynapolis United - to accomodate a start for twenty-one year old striker, Dante Speranzo. Pundits and coaches, along with fellow professionals, have raved about the Cartagena-born striker for years, since he burst onto the scene as a precocious sixteen year old, and last night he became only the fourth ever Osarian player to score a hat-trick in an international match, after Rene Wilson-Ouaddou, Keon Tinto, and Benni Watson. His performance suggesting that perhaps he is finally ready to truly "come of age" on the international scene for Osarius. With World Cup 54 around the corner, and the Osarian transfer window closing soon, the Utica United striker may be hitting form at the perfect time.

Speranzo hinted at what was to come in the third minute, when he rattled the crossbar from a Benni Watson cross. Rodrigo Beltran found him again four minutes later with a clever reverse pass into the left channel, and Osarius were a goal up. Not to be disheartened so easily, Western cuba rallied well to force some solid defending from Harvey Decker and Katherine Holland, before Marco Corradini - making his first senior start - saved impressively from close range.

Western cuba's ten minutes of apparent dominance seemed to jolt di Corradi's side back into focus, though. The game began to change in a Lord of the Flies kinda way, and the kids began to take control, making the Western cuban "grown-ups" seem irrelevant. A sustained period of control from Osarius lasted for almost thirty minutes after that. A slick move through the middle of the park - started by Katherine Holland's chipped pass to Ayanna Barca-Carthy on the left edge of the Osarius box - ended with Rudy Atkinson holding off a defender long enough to release Dante Speranzo on forty-four minutes to put the Firebirds two goals up.

At half-time, the giant Dynapolis forward's involvement ended, and Rhianna Johnson replaced him, playing her favoured centre forward position. The lithe twenty-seven year old's introduction signalled a reversion to a traditional 4-4-2 formation for Osarius, which saw them look to control the game for the second period. A little uncharacteristic of di Corradi, but the Firebirds boss rationalised it later by pointing out that "there was little to gain and much to lose by going all out in the second half, all we had to do was keep a little pressure on, and make sure we didn't throw it away."

Aside from a couple minor scares in the early stages of the second half, di Corradi's team managed to do exactly that. In fact, so convinced was the coach of his team's grasp on the game, he removed his captain after sixty-five minutes, replacing him with the "heir apparent", Enrico Martelli. The young Cymrwell winger's impact was almost immediate, as he created a third Osarius goal - completing Speranzo's hat-trick - with a perfectly weighted through ball in behind the defence. For the final twenty minutes, the game slowly descended into what began to resemble a training exercise, as neither team seeked to really impose their will on the game, despite the apparently insatiable desire of Dante Speranzo - then acting as Osarian captain, as their most experienced player on the pitch - to increase his goal tally.

Osarius 0-1 Kazzoria

"Hello and welcome to Eurentus, this is KTVN's favourite sport show, Sports Today. Tonight we have the highlights from the opening games of the Kazzorian league and the the new football league for over 80's. But fist Kazzoria pull of another crowd shocking win against Osarius. With that Kazzoria are now in the semi-finals to play Silver Beach, who are rivals probably. Despite not ever really playing them we hate Silver Beach, there isn't any real reason we just tend to find them very annoying.

The game started dully. There were hardly any chances for either side in the first half and both teams looked defeated. Osarius were expecting to go out and win, but they were struggling with our keeper and defence. They started to get complacent and this left them making a lot of mistakes towards the end of the half. At the beginning of the second half we began to take control of the game. We managed a lot more shots and the Kazzorian player looked a lot more happy and full of life. It took until the 79th minute for Kazzoria to finally bag a well deserved goal to win the game. It was scored by Bob Lee after a run from the halfway line, he struck the ball well at the end of the run and it sailed clean past the keeper into the back of the net. Next up we have Silver Beach, one of the old state Teroi's rival. So lets do what Teroi struggled to do, beat them."

They all rushed into a shell hole to avoid the gunfire. These police were going to kill them in public, with many witnesses. A sight like this may seem common in their homeland, but in the Eurentusian sun it didn't seem normal. They knew that this was they end and soon they would be dead. Then they realised, these were tranquilliser darts being shot. This meant they could be tortured and kill slowly, and then with doom impending something swooped down from the sky and whisked them away.

He had knotted the end of the rope so he could use it as a swing. He swung down and grabbed the people, who in the past, he had been trying to kill. He explained everything to them afterwards and the lot of them slunk off to a low grade hotel. They stayed their for the night before taking the bus as far away from the city as possible.

King Lucas heard the news and wasn't happy. They had slipped through their fingers once again and someone would be punished. He had the 10 of them executed by gut-flame gallows. Their guts were taken out and made into nooses, they were then slowly hanged while they were being cooked by a fire underneath them. He then got a new squad to chase the rebels down, and they all knew the price they would have to pay if they failed.

The Albundanian footy squad is back, and, damn, are they back. Albundania rebounded well from their poor performance against Balida (who lost in extra time to Silver Beach today) and dominated a Repulaea squad that looked like it only wanted a way out of the match by half-time. It took not ten minutes for Kurt Winger to start the scoring, absolutely dominating Julius Robrees on the wing, and then rocketing a shot off the crossbar and back right to Winger, where he calmly put it past a confused Maronam Farss. Just ten minutes later though, Repulaea announced their intention to fight the Blue Crew today, when Agunta Heins pulled some trickery that got through Andrews and let Heins in on goal, where there was no problem in outfoxing Kellogg, despite his top effort. 1-1, after 18 minutes. Just at 25 minutes, though, Albundania re-took the lead off of a free-kick from 25 yards out, courtesy of John Mawrz (of course). It looked like it was going to be 2-1 at half-time, when Raul Ibanez absolutely drove a shot from about 30 yards out, forcing Farss to block it. Luckily, Farss couldn't hold onto it and was forced to punch it out before Winger got the rebound. Inieta put in a beautiful corner kick, and Lisa Jacoby had no problems settling it into the back of the net. 3-1, Albundania led at half-time.

Without going into much detail, as you're sure by now that Albundania knocked the stuffing out of the opposition for once, Kurt Winger put another one in the net early in the half, and Jacoby put two more in the net to earn her first ever hat-trick. Albundania now move on to play HellHorn, a much better team. They move onto the semi-finals after beating surprise package Northpaddock Inn 4-2. In other news throughout the cup, (really, only two other games) Kazzoria managed to beat Osarius. Yes, the team you were all worrying about was beat by Kazzoria. Does that mean you should worry about Kazzoria now? Yes, it probably does. They'll be playing Silver Beach, whom narrowly beat Balida after some intense extra-time.

Kazzoria 1-1 Silver Beach (1-1 AET, 2-1 PKs)

"Kazzoria yesterday once again won again and caused a shock against a better side. This game the win was slightly less definite, with it going down to the wire. It finished with penalties and not just that, it was the last one. With this Kazzoria's football team reaches it first ever final. Well next in the final we have Albundania and we have decided to hate them. The reason being they have won some stuff and qualified for a couple of cup so therefore they disrespect us and we need to beat them.

The game started well for Kazzoria with Aidan Jagger scoring a goal. Danny Veille ran down the wing and crossed it in, Bob Lee then took a shot with it deflecting off the post. Jagger then scooped it up and stuck it in the back of the net. Kazzoria then went onto dominate the rest of the half before Silver Beach got their heads out of the clouds. In the second half Silver Beach began to dominate things, but it still took them till the 89th minute to get the equalizer. Extra time was a dull event in which most people took a quick nap. The penalties were tense. Both teams missed both their first penalties, but then Kazzoria took the lead. With the fourth penalty Silver Beach scored and then Kazzoria scored their fifth. The last penalty taker for Silver Beach lined up the ball, he was dripping in sweat. He ran forward and kicked the ball. It was sailing towards the net, but Jim Cole's outstretched fingers knocked the ball over the bar."

It was late at night when they all woke up. It took Ben a long time to realise where he was, all he could see were the stars. He then realised that he was in the middle of the desert and safe. But maybe not. This was the guy who had been trying to kill them for weeks. Maybe irony would be a continuing theme in his life from now on.

King Lucas I was ready to test out his new torture machine. He had been excited about this one for weeks, it had been designed to slowly crush the person placed on it, so that slowly all their bones would be broken and their skin bruised. It would be interesting to try out. He put a small boy on it and slowly turned the dial up.
