I'll be getting the conferences situated later tonight, but as of right now, I'm counting 132 teams. That breaks down nicely in 12 conferences of 11 teams. Everyone plays each other 3 times for a total of 30 games. That's about as close to real life as I can get it right now. Thoughts on dividing it up like this?

That sounds like a great format to me. Better cut off sign-ups before we get a spare 133rd team.

Oh boy, looks like I counted wrong. We have 134 teams, in fact. I'll just remove two of my teams to make it even; I'll only be RPing 2-3 of my teams anyway.

OK, I need one more person to be willing to scorinate. That way I could have everyone take two conferences at a time.

Conferences are up, schedule is tentative ATM: viewtopic.php?ns=1&f=7&t=93002&p=4586742#p4586742

Gotcha dude.

also, schedules are up! And I'm still looking for one more person to help scorinate this! If you know how to use Xcoranate or would like some quick help from myself or the rest of the current scorinators, please don't hesitate to ask.

Alright, then if the current scorinators have no problems taking 2 conferences, we have our regular season set up. I am choosing your conferences, hosts, based on which of your teams are NOT competing in them. This is to assure that the host will not be biased towards their own teams in the interest of fairness.

Conference hosts:
Delaclava - 1 and 2
Newmanistan - 3 and 4
Civil Citizenry - 5 and 6
Qazox - 7 and 8
Cosumar - 9 and 10
Saugeais - 11 and 12

Feel free to name them to your choosing(within reason, of course) and TG me your names, so they remain a secret to the other hosts until all the others have submitted their names. Generic "Conference 1" doesn't have a nice ring to it at all, I'm sure. Thank you all for helping me out with this.

Also, I'm think a tentative start date of next Monday at 8pm CST would be suitable for people to get whatever RPs they may have in. What do the rest of you think?

EDIT: Changed to the 23rd at 8pm CST to give people substantial time to RP.

Current set of scorinating games, as suggested by Newmanistan, is to do 3 games every 2 days. His thought being that no one is going to keep interest in 33 games, THEN a conference championship, THEN a playoff system. So this'll cut down the amount of time by a third.

Right, I'm just sticking this out there.

I've got this week off, until next Sunday anyway. After that, I won't be able to role-play any of my teams that regularly at all. In March, on the 2nd and 3rd I'm going down to London, which is also over my birthday. I just won't have the time, but I shall try to get the occasional role-play up. I probably won't be able to get much RP until April, so if this is over by then (see, I haven't even had the time to see the schedule yet), I probably won't have RPed much. School and the fact my house is currently a building site means that I haven't the time, and my internet connection is undecided whether it wants to work or not. So yeah, if I can RP, I shall - if I can't - you know why.

For NSCAA 4 (pending the successful completion of NSCAA 3),

a few ideas:

1- Limit it to 10 teams per nation
2- Maximum of 20 conferences that contain 12 teams (240 teams)
3- Home/away vs. every team in a 12-team conference (22 games)
4- A Non-conference game vs. other teams from within your nation (up to 9 games)
5- MAX regular season schedule of 31 games with full conference tourney (up to 4 more games)= Max 35 game schedule.
6- Up to 40 teams automatically qualify (Reg. season and Conf. tourney champions)
7- 24 additional at-large berths (with more if necessary due to dual Reg. Seas/Conf. Tourney champs)
8- 64 team tourney

Benefits: We can get a true conference RPI rating to help determine at-large berths (would you rather have a 25-6 team from a weak conference or a 20-11 team from a strong one?). A consistant format. More potential competitors.
Drawbacks: non-conference schedule might not be consisent year-to-year; non-conference schedule edited in by hand; might have to have up to 10 nations scorinate at varied times.

Just spitballing ideas.

I like, except I think it scheduling non-conference games against international opponents should be allowed too with mutual consent.

But within the conference you are already playing international teams. Maybe we can add ONE "rivalry" game to get a 32 game schedule.

Alright everyone....

This was going to be my first official venture using xkoronate, which is why I was a little hesitant to take up scorinating a couple conferences. I felt that since I had been aggressive in pushing the large multi-conference schedule that it was the right thing to do and I could learn it properly; I had given it a test run last week and it seemed to be ok then but I probably did not scrutinize the test as I should have and I apologize for that. I am therefore not confident at this time in my ability to use this flawlessly from beginning to end.

However, before Secristan had ceased I had attained the formula which he used to scorinate IBC 6 in a spreadsheet. That tournament went well and I am going to switch over to using it tonight. I will be posting scores using this.

If the community finds this acceptable, then I will have no hesitation to proceed as normal with this. If not, then this is time to let me know and these results could be disregarded and the opportunity would then exist for another person to pick up these conferences.

I apologize for my overconfidence that I would just be able to get xkoranate to run smoothly tonight.

Just wanted to point out that Carasatoga's nation code is (CRG) not (CRS), sorry to be knit-picky, but...

My only issue is (and it's fine with me as long as it's fine with others) is that Secristan's spreadsheet tends to produce higher final scores. So you have 2 conferences with scores that are 15-20 ppg higher, per team, on average.
