For this edition, the 11 regular season champions (#1 on the conference table) are given an automatic bid.
The 11 schools who win their conference's tournament will also be given an automatic bid.
If the same school wins the regular season and tournament title, then the #2 team in the regular season table will receive an automatic spot.
This gives us 22/64 teams. The other 42 spots will be decided via at-large voting. Essentially all 6 conference hosts will send me a list of their top 42 teams that didn't get an automatic spot in the tournament already, and I'll average the votes to determine the final 42 that make the cut.
From there I'll use a separate algorithm (same as last season) to determine the seedings, 1-64 (rather than four sets of 1-16 like real life).
Last season I ran the DCIT, an equivalent to the RL NIT. I wasn't planning to do the same this season, but the demand seems to be there, so I'm changing my mind. The DCIT will feature about 12-24 teams that fall short of the Ultra 64, unilaterally selected by me.
