LIGA FEDERAL DE VALLADARES PRESENTED BY TRIANGLE ÉLECTRONIQUE
THIRTY-THIRD SEASON (REVIEW)
SuperCopa Valladar/Canalave Crown Match
A new season of Valladar football opened with the Canalave Crown match between last season's Liga-1 champions Metropolis Alligators and last season's King's Shield winners Eterna Stars. Dragon Stadium in Canalave was the venue for the tenth SuperCopa match, and the place where both Valladar titans locked horns in order to add yet another trophy to their showcase, with 43,982 people attending and most of them being obviously Eterna fans, given Canalave's proximity to the Eternan capital, who were also expecting their team to win a trophy at the home stadium of their most hated rivals, Canalave Dragons.
In the first half, we were able to witness an interesting, back-and-forth match, with both teams trying to open the scoreboard as soon as possible while also trying their best to prevent Canalave's sunny climate and humidity from affecting them. Although the Stars, propelled by their fans' massive support, were the ones always exerting pressure on their rivals, the Alligators were the ones closer to break the deadlock, with Miguel Flórez and Pedrinho always bringing danger to the Stars' defense. Despite the effort shown by both Stars and Alligators, both teams were punished with a 0-0 at halftime.
For the second half, the Alligators went more decided to open the scoreboard, and with the Stars' defense now offering less resistance than in the first half, the Liga-1 champions were awarded a penalty kick after a childish foul on MA striker Carlos Alberto Sáez, which Flórez quickly turned into the first goal of the day in the 57th minute. The goal gave MA wings and the Green-Blues enjoyed more chances to double the advantage during the remainder of the second half, while the Stars looked tired and without arguments to go and equalize the match. This, however, wasn't liked at all by the Stars fans, who started making riots in their allocated stand for the match when the match clock hit 80 minutes. A flare thrown onto the pitch was the trigger that led to the suspension of the match, with the referee declaring the match finished since 75% of it had already been played. South End Eterna marred the Alligators' celebration of another Canalave Crown triumph on Dragon Stadium's pitch, but were unable to stop the celebrations in Metropolis with the Crown itself, though.

Liga-1 Season Review
Another Liga-1 season that ends with the Alligators defending successfully their crown, however, they once again found stiff contention in the form of Olympique de Fontvielle and 10-time champions Fontvielle Impact, who are now seeing how MA get dangerously closer and closer to emulate their feat of winning 6 titles in a row. Despite those three teams were always fighting at the top and switching positions during 35 weeks, Round 36 was when the league winner was decided, with MA and Fontvielle Impact facing each other in a crucial Derby du Sud, while Olympique travelled to the Valladar capital to take on Nacional, who were at the time fighting for a Globe Cup berth. Eventually, MA's 2-0 win over Impact at the Stade de la Frontière and Olympique's 1-1 draw at the City of Metropolis Stadium were enough for the Alligators to clinch a third title in a row, and eighth overall, while l'OF were forced to settle for a Champions' Cup berth and another set of silver medals, and Impact were punished with third place (and the last CC berth) after being unable to get more than a point in their last 2 games of the campaign at Montreux and at home against Pumas.
After missing out on UICA competition last time, which also meant a hard blow to billionaire Rémy de Saint-Lorent's finances, AS Bezieres managed to bounce back from that failure and secured a Globe Cup berth after a decent campaign which was just enough for Les Rouges to finish in fourth place, and Edmonton United were also able to bounce back from their ninth place last season and managed to secure the last UICA berth of the season with their fifth place, returning to the Globe Cup in the process. Meanwhile, AS Montreux are getting closer to a maiden participation in a UICA first-tier competition, after getting their highest finish ever this season, a sixth place which undoubtedly has ASB's former main rivals happy, while Nacional and Pradera FC are still unable to recover their winning memory, and in the case of Pradera, Montreux are slowly replacing the Verdiblancos as the Liga-1's "surprise package".
In the middle part of the standings, we have Canalave Dragons and CAP, both of them finding in the King's Shield more reasons to smile than in the league, while Marinos Metropolis, former Globe Cup winners, are unable to find either success or happiness in both, that 11th place achieved this season by Los Marineros reflecting this fact. After a dreadful season which had them closer than ever to the drop, Eterna Stars may find some solace with a 12th place which honestly, was more than the fans expected, while Ajax Carloburgo, Pumas Maldonado, and their fans may be happier than ever with both teams shocking everyone by being able to avoid the drop and finishing in comfortable positions this time (13th and 14th), and Slateport Bulls collected more disappointment with another 15th place finish.
And we reached the most exciting zone of the standings this time: the relegation zone! And the relegation race was more exciting than ever with 4 teams going into the final match of the campaign with chances to be relegated to Liga-2, those being the mystical Étoile Verte, led by former NT coach José Marín, who were finally enjoying the flashes of Liga-1 after their Liga-2 championship last season, SC Caimanes, who were playing Globe Cup earlier this season, AC Tallin, and debutants Bohemians Metropolis. Before the last matchday and despite none of the involved teams were still able to secure direct survival, Caimanes had the upper hand for the playoff berth with 36 points and a superior goal difference than Tallin, Bohemians were behind in 19th place with a point less, and Étoile Verte were dead-last and trailing the Jacarés by 2 points. And the crucial match of the day was being played at Parken Road in Carloburgo, with Tallin and Étoile Verte facing each other, Caimanes were playing in Eterna City against the Stars, while Bohemians were challenging their fate in Edmonton against the Monties. Eventually, all the history of Étoile Verte came back to life with the green team from Bezieres beating Tallin 2-0 and securing the coveted spot in the relegation playoff, sending the Gunners down in the process, while Caimanes lost to the Stars and will be reunited with Chiquito in Liga-2 and Bohemians returned to the second tier in their début season after drawing at Albert Field.
