OOC: International AFL Competition Information & Signups

Intending to host an International AFL tournament, which would be open to either eight or sixteen teams, which will be decided on once I can determine numbers. At this stage, I will allow one puppet per nation once we have more than eight participants.

If anyone would like me to run them through the rules of AFL, I can do so.

Scorination will be provided by 'AFLinator,' developed by Melki. I really can't thank Melki enough for this.

The above is an example ladder which will be used for the competition.

• Laddar rankings are determined by overall score
• A win is worth four points to go towards total score on ladder
• A draw is worth two points towards score
• A loss is worth none
• Points For is the total amount of points a team has scored in every game across the season
• Points Against is the total amount of points a team has conceded in every game across the season
• Percentage is Points For divided by Points Against
• When two or more teams have an identical score, the percentage is used to seperate them.

- 22 players on each team, maximum of 18 players on the field at any one time.
- 3 midfielders (get the ball down to their forwards), 3 rucks (or followers, follow the ball around the whole map, but are classified as midfielders), 6 forwards (kick goals), 6 defenders (prevent goals from being kicked). There are no offside rules and positions aren't fixed meaning players may go anywhere on the field.

- There are four goal posts, the two centre ones being much larger than the outer two. Kicking the ball, on the ground or on the full, between these gives 6 points. Kicking the ball into one of these, or between a center and an outer posts gives 1 point. If the ball is touched regardless of where is goes through, it is 1 point.

- Game lasts for two hours which is split into four 30 minutes quarters.

The generally smaller bodies of the Moog's players make for weaker ruck options and matchups against tall forwards. This is made up for by a quick and hard running midfield and silky skilled forwards.

I only said that because this thread was dead for three months without any word from the host. *shrugs*

[Monte Sierre]

I will be able to host the games if we need a host nation. Monte Sierre has just recently built a large stadium specially designed for the sport which can hold 80,000 people. If the sport is a big hit in our nation we will build more stadiums and begin a domestic league, but sadly the only other stadiums available are cricket ones which we can make to suit AFL regulations. We are sure that our nation would make an excellent host nation. Please contact me

I guess my question would be what would be used as a scorinator. I'd love to host but I'm not sure I've seen an applicable scorinator for it. North Chicanan does have a fourteen-team league with twelve stadiums available for use whenever we get to fleshing out a tournament as well as bids.

Results will be delivered on a round by round basis in a purely IC thread. The IC thread will be up once teams have been finalized. Im still leaving this open for the minute to try and attract some more participants.
