Can someone explain to me how godmod works? And when it can and cannot be used.

Godmodding is basically coming up with crazy and/or slightly unrealistic explanations for game events. Something outside the scope of a typical game.

Examples might include a fan running onto the field to stop your team from scoring a touchdown, a piece of flying debris from a hurricane injuring a player during the game, a ref being an undercover spy from Nation X, etc.

Godmodding is generally frowned upon, but it can be acceptable as long as the nation behind the other team agrees to it. NationStates often goes beyond real life, as we know. There have often been female and non-human teams in NSCF, for example.

Ok I see..sounds like it can be fun at times but I’ll stay away from godmodding. I like the realistic feel of things.

...But not quite running yet. Obviously, it's mostly empty and useless until results start getting fed in. In the absence of Osarius, could someone who's more savvy with these things give it a once-over to make sure everything's in working order?

I think Richardson went like 10-3 or 11-2 their first season, including playoffs. I only managed to schedule two out of conference games that year. Did a shit ton of RPs too. Actually they might have gone 11-1 or 10-2 and won a playoff game, I really can’t remember.

I’m literally writing them in advance rn. Working like 10-12 hour days here, so I’m writing the shit I had planned to post for backstory each week when I can, and hoping I’ll be able to do games as they come.

So outside of game RPs, I’m going to try and dive into the backstory of each of Richardson’s quarterbacks. I’ve posted the Prologue for Alton McNair, and he’ll have 8 total chapters, counting that one, one of which will overlap with Tucker Wolfe, and I think that the last one will have all three of them making their final decisions together. Not sure about Chineze yet, but Tucker Wolfe will have 6 total chapters. I think this is going to be my biggest storyline thus far in NSCF, so I’d love to hear some feedback on what you guys think. Thanks!

Not to brag, but I gave One Jamaica a bit of advice back when the signups first went up. I think he's done a good job with his roster and his introduction. Someone needs to break up the Ranorian monopoly in that league.

Idk what happened with Val. Mad Sara and Raynor were on par with Richardson and generally better than Cold Hill

All advice is great advice in my knowledge. The team is thrilled to be having this much attention going into week 1. Their anxious to go out there and prove they have what it takes to win the conference.

I was going to ask about this, my slow clock burning, -5 option team put up 37 while my high speed pass happy +5 Air Raid team could only muster 16

I mean, two years ago Loyola-Istria and Richardson had a shootout for the ages in our annual OOC week 3 matchup. I had Richardson at -2,, Loyola was +5. Then last year Richardson was changed to +5 and they got shut down in a blowout. Games vary and stuff, you know.

I'm pretty sure the Richardson score was influenced by differences in roster bonus (unless all rosters somehow get the same or similar ratings). Richardson also RP'd.

I've seen similar things in the IBC where there's just an element of randomness. I've have a +5 basketball team (with high rankings and RP) that barely scores over 90. It's also strong defensively. My guess is that the modifiers just aren't that strong.
