While I'd like to agree, I'm pretty sure there are psychological studies to do with stuff like that. Though its probably more of a social thing... which makes it difficult for most people to ignore.
Colours are often assigned a trait similar or near enough equivalent to feminine, masculine or neutral gender, or they are associated with traits considered to be feminine or masculine.
The colour red, for example, is often related to boldness, power, violence (and thus strength) and danger. Also love and passion. Women are more likely to be attracted to a man wearing red, apparently -- presumably because of a combination of the aforementioned traits culminating in some kind of proxy of the supposed "ideal man" on some level -- and on the flipside, women in red are often depicted in fiction as some kind of temptress or seductress, presumably due to the socio/psychological effect the colour has on the human brain.
Equally, black is often associated with darkness (and thus power) and so on. Certain shades of blue are associated with metals like steel, which is undoubtedly masculine (strong, hard, cold etc) ... whereas others are associated with natural things like sky or ocean, which, though in classical mythology are depicted as having masculine avatars (or patrons, if you like) are usually seen as somewhat feminine in modern culture because of a perceived "gentleness" of nature -- which, ironically, completely ignores the brutality of the natural world.

In all seriousness, I'm sure there is some social perception to that end, but I reject the premise that such culturally specific perceptions define the inherent nature of the color. That's just me, though; some people are all in. For example, red and black are totally different to me than what you laid out.
