We need to do that again. Perhaps when the next HP-related thing comes out to grab the interest.

I know on the world cup you can have you and a puppet participate after the first one but can you have two puppets participate but not your main nation? Also can you have two nations join together so one participates in the world cup and the other in the baptism of fire alongside your main nation?

once you as a user has had a nation take part in one world cup cycle (baptism of fire, world cup qualifying, world cup/cup of harmony - regardless of how many of the three you participate in), then in your second cycle as a user you can enter two teams, whichever teams these are.

Each team can only enter the baptism of fire ONCE however, before it has any rank, and you can only enter two teams per cycle. So, you couldn't have two teams in the baptism of fire, then have one of them join your main nation for the world cup qualifiers. You can change the name of a nation between the baptism of fire and the world cup qualifiers, I myself have done that, but it carries the same rank as it did with its old name. As far as I'm aware, it isn't possible to combine teams mid-cycle.

Also (correct me if I'm wrong), if this is your nation's first time entering the World Cup, you may only enter one nation

I have two questions:

1.How often are the Olympics held in real-time on NS sports?
2.Who owns the scorinators for the Olympics?

I want to know the second one cause I can't figure out the scorinators. Thanks.

The Summer and Winter Olympic Games are held about once a year, each six months apart. The scorinator used for these Olympic Games, xkoranate, is not "owned" by anybody, though it was developed by Commerce Heights and is freely available on his site.

When you sign up, you make sure your entire team's skill adds to 0.5 by assigning each player a skill level from 0.0 to 1.0. There are no ranks, and don't carry over, you instead assign them ranks yourself and RP them...

It will get started at the host's discretion. Seeing as the host's have already been voted on, it should be up soon.

To elabore on that: we are waiting for the World Cup hosts to be chosen, the vote count for which is due in a couple of hours, and then we will decide alongside them when to cut off signups for the Baptism of Fire; from there we'll work out a format in accordance to what we presented in our bid and get things started.

I need to post a Roster, but I have no idea what some of these things are:

Player names are the most important, then there are things like shirt number, age, height, weight, gender, style of play, formations, tactics, managers, coaches, kits, and much more.

Height, weight? Why do I need to post that?
Style of play is a what?
I have no idea how to describe my formation.
Or my tactics. Or my managers.
Or what I need to say about my coaches.
Kits is how they look. Everyone posts pictures of their people with customized outfits. How do they do that? I can't draw that well.
Much more....... What else?

I really need help with this. I've looked for info everywhere. Nothing.

You don't need to post things like height/weight, but if you did, then it would give your opponent the chance to say things like "was dispossessed by the giant winger from HorusLand" or "chipped it over the short midfielder", its about providing information for your opponent to use in RP. Personally, I've never stated my football players heights or weights in my rosters, or nothing more than hinted anyway. However, I've seen a lot of players perhaps from an american football background that have done so. Ultimately its up to you though.

Style of play means things like "they play with a focus on short passing" or "strong wingers and crosses into the tall strikers", "focused solely on all-out attack", "focused on keeping it tight at the back", etc - its an IC decision you can make about your team if you want to.

Formation - there are plenty of examples in other rosters from other tournaments... 4-3-3, 4-4-2, 4-1-2-1-2, it might be worth googling football tactics if you don't have an idea of what's typical in the sport already.

Similarly, with coaches, you don't need to say anything at all, not if you don't want to.

Kits, there are lots of ways people do kits. Some get images from the internet, copy them to Paint, and simply colour over them. Others use kit editors online that can be found by googling, some other use programs like Photoshop, or GIMP, there are plenty of options.

In the past some people have been willing to design kits for others: Check back through the list of threads in this forum and hopefully you'll be able to find one on this subject that's still open for new requests.

how do hosts calculate RP ranks like in the BoF, any criteria, rank out of 100...
anything would be a help for my understanding of the positive effect of RPing

From the bid thread for the BoF, as an example -

"HOW DO I SCORE BONUS?
Both hosts will always be looking to award bonus rather than take it away. The scoring system will be a cumulative five-tier one, scored on quality, creativity, and length, in that order. Respect for your opponent's RP permissions will not be something the RP itself is graded on as such, but bonus scores will be penalised if permissions are not respected. The RP bonus will degrade over time, promoting and rewarding participation, though it will never degrade to zero. The creation and provision of a roster will be scored the same as a matchday's worth of RP, though this bonus will never decline with time, and multiple RPs per matchday from any nation will be grouped together and scored as one. The absolute system will be used."

What this means for the BoF is that you will either be given 0, 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, or 2.0 for a matchday's worth of RP. We take many things into account, but there isn't a definitive quantum "this paragraph is worth 0.3, and this bit is worth 0.2" kind of thing. But essentially, the maths is unimportant as you never see that side of it, especially because this overall degrading bonus score then gets turned into a decimal value between 0 and 1 for input into the scorinator. All you need to know is that to RP consistently and creatively in your own way is how you'll see the best results.

Though of course, that's not accounting for the deadly hand of randomness that could strike at any moment...
