Does Tech level matter, or for that matter, unique traits among your nation.

For instance, my nation is based off The Protoss, and as you may or may not remember, they all had natural energy shields. I can of course say that was trained to be restrained during sporting events, of course, but I'm not human, and I'm worried that aliens and alien technologies may not be allowed.

Further, There is my other nation The Eternal Swarm. Could they play too? I promise to develop a strain specifically for sporting events to give a fair team that is perfectly beatable. I'm almost certain playing soccer against a Carnifex of any variety would be difficult and not very fun.

Okay, as for Starcraft and 40k, we can handle that. We've had Elves, Dwarves, Robots, Children, Sentient Evisceramatoes (and other assorted vegetables), a Horse, Communists, Sentient Blancmanges, Bears, Neanderthals, Porn Stars, Wannabe Porn Stars, and, on rare occasions, professional football playing humans. 11 players are 11 players, no matter what they are or, in fact, what tech level they are. The scorinators merely read the rank, take any RP bonus into account and then produce a scoreline - Genestealer strains or otherwise. The fun is in the RPing of it, of which I'd imagine the Rotan is much easier than the Eternal Swarm.

Thinking of strange teams, I've been reading about some of the Cups from before the Bears got involved and the situation that I found strangest -- out of those that I've seen so far -- was one nation of very devout Christians placed so much faith in God's favour towards them that they didn't send any players at all... and still managed to win some of their qualifiers!

It was World Cup 43 Qualification, and the Holy Apostolic State of Magna Sancta Sedes chose to confide full and undue trust in God. They sent no man to play for the team, instead relying upon divine intervention to grant them qualification. And in due course, their trust in God was affirmed until the last day of qualification, whereupon a loss to Demot, combined with a win for those Krytie bastards, resigned the team of God to miss out the World Cup by one point. Alas, the Most Holy Football Team of Magna Sancta Sedes has not been seen since then.

Of course, that was in the season of Vanorian hegemony...
