This is where you will put your lineups and Roleplays, and where I put results. Remember that the only bonuses in this tournament are for roleplaying, with more detail awarding you a bigger bonus.

Format:
3 Groups of 6:
Group seeding is determined as follows: most points , goal difference, goals scored, and an OOC coin flip (one match played with no draws using RP bonuses) in order
Top 2 from each group advance to quarterfinals.
The 3 3rd place teams will be dealt with as follows: 3rd place teams will be put in order based on group performance (see Group seeding). 1st place out of these 3 makes the quarterfinals, 2 and 3 play off for the last spot.
These 8 remaining teams will be seeded by performance, with first place teams seeded 1-3, 2nd 4-6, and the 3rd place teams will be 7 and 8.
Quarterfinals will be: 1v8 in Q1, 2v7 in Q2, 3v6 in Q3, 4v5 in Q4.

Sernet - who are we?
This section contains useful information for visitors and those wanting to know more about their fellow competitors.

The Metrostocracy of the Sernetian Empire, commonly known as Sernet, is a sizeable, relatively dense, space-capable and industrial nation located on the planet of Urseom in the Solin Solar System. At Sernet's core stands its beating heart and partially namesake capital, Sernetesen, a colossal metropolis of skyscrapers, a sprawling rail network and constant movement; buildings as far as the eye can see.
Beyond the capital lie other major urban giants: Stensemertef with its sprawling freight yards, massive port and countless tower blocks stretching far and wide can see; Nestomerisen, dubbed "the great Nest", city of 10,000 trades; Sporstrodisen, a titanic technological hub and another port city; Sermeslau, bastion of the north; and Sultrisend, where industry runs 24 hours a day and the night sky glows from all the light beneath. Just to name a few. Sernet as a whole can be seen as a vast web of cities. Sernet is also a bilingual state, with the main language being Linteric (very similar to Earth's english). Some parts of the northeast of the country are Korelish-speaking (very similar to Polish on Earth), with major cities in the area including Stroławostok and Plostruń. However, most Sernetians speak both languages, meaning communication is smooth. Provinces in Sernet are known as governorates. Sernet is a strongly unified and very patriotic state, with a large chunk of the population being avowedly loyal to the nation.
Internationally, Sernet is known for its skyscrapers, its relentlessly efficient industrial output, its labyrinth of a railway network, and its population of citizens who are proud and patriotic. During international tournaments, chants in support of the Steamers echo across the country. But outside of the sprawling towns and cities is the harmonious countryside, beautiful scenic views stretching out into the horizon, straight out of a fairy tale. Contrary to the stereotypes, Sernet isn't all brick, glass concrete and steel, it's natural paradise too. Sernet also has a strong military and space force to protect national interests and project authority where required. The Sernetian Empire is the wider form of Sernet, encompassing colonies such as Smoltrendestof and Toperis, all of which were peacefully acquired; there were little "native" populations on these lands and some colonies are entirely extraterrestrial, such as Toperis. The Sernetian Empire is famously benevolent, and has always been since its formation during the era of enlightenment in the nation's rich history.
And of course, Sernet is known for football.

Football in Sernet

Football is not merely a sport here. It is a way of life. Nearly every Sernetian supports a local club, and the domestic rivalries are explosive, heated, and occasionally all-consuming. Matches between Stronghold Sernetesen FC, Setelendisen FC, Governorate Dameristol, Loblinisen Wanderers, Korona Stroławostok, Zwiazek Gdasenowo, Colliers' UFC, Legion Sultrisend-Livedendrisen, Union Slalosol, Sermeslau Giants, Nestomerisen Knights, Snarisosnum City, Sporstrodisen Athletic and numerous others define the emotional rhythm of many Sernetians.
The rivalries are deeply rooted: industrial pride, city-versus-city competition, and even politics and ideological jabs sometimes play into them. Crowd atmospheres in Sernetian stadia are renowned across the world: loud, united and proud. Sernetian footballing history goes way back, it has now been almost two centuries since the beautiful game reached Sernet, the Sernetian National Team was established in 1854, although standardisation only occured in 1865, with many clubs dating back to the 19th century.
However, when Sernet plays internationally, all rivalries immediately dissolve. The whole nation stands united behind the Steamers, named for the vast plumes of white steam which rose from Sernet's railway stations and industrial stacks back in the day before electrification. Everyone in Sernet loves the steamers. Any view other than that is considered heresy (obviously it's not a life-or-death matter, but still...)
Until very recently, however, the Steamers had rarely ventured beyond their regional football sphere. Sernet's participation in the NS World Cup, the multiverse's most prestigious football tournament, enabled by recent technological advancements allowing for rapid space travel through the gateway system, has electrified the country's football culture even further, renewing pride in Sernet's legends. Now with the Eternal Championships and the 102nd edition of the World Cup looming, the Sernetian Empire is united in support of the Steamers once more.

The Sernetian football system has recently undergone a shift, resulting in the formation of a new league system replacing the former multiple tier system. The Sernefoot Gold League is now the Premier division of Sernetian football, followed by the Silver League and the Bronze League. These leagues contain 24 teams; the bottom three teams are relegated each season to the league below and the top three promoted to the league above. Additionally, teams who finish top, or near the top, of the Goal League table qualify for a range of different competitions. Each team plays each other twice every season in the top three leagues.
Below the Bronze League comes Sernefoot Division 1, which also consists of 24 teams. The first team from Division 1 is automatically promoted to the Bronze League, while positions 2-5 play each other for promotion in the playoffs - out of the four teams, 2 can qualify. The bottom four teams are relegated into Division Two. This cycle carries on through Divisions 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and finally Division 9, the lowest League of Sernefoot football. From each of the Division leagues (except for 1 & 9) the Top 2 qualify automatically while places 3-6 enter the playoffs. 2 more teams from positions 3-6 get promoted, meaning that in total 4 teams get promoted. The bottom 4 teams are relegated. There are no relegation playoffs. Because Division 9 is the lowest Sernefoot League, 4 teams get promoted from Div 9 to 8, but only 2 are relegated. The relegated teams are replaced by whichever team is at the top of the SLSA (Sernet League System Association) Zone of the two clubs being relegated. Those zones are Sernet Northeast, Sernet North, Sernet Central, Sernet South, Sernet East and Sernet West. If the two relegated teams belong to the same zone, then the top two teams from that zone are promoted. The SLSA Zone a team is in is obviously based on geographical location, for example, a team located in Sernetesen would be under the Sernet Central Zone and a team located in Krafnoslau would be under the Sernet Northeast Zone. All clubs are under an SLSA Zone, even those in the Gold League.
Additionally, some of Sernet's colonies operate their own leagues, most notably Smoltrendestof. The Smoltrendestof Premiership and Championship were under Sernefoot, whereas the leagues beneath were SLSA. However, with the recent formation of the Smoltrendestof Independent Football Association (SIFA), they are now operated by SIFA as opposed to Sernefoot. Both Smoltrendestof Leagues have 12 teams, bringing the amount of Sernefoot clubs in Smoltrendestof to 24. The bottom two teams from both leagues are relegated, and the top two are promoted.

There are also several domestic competitions, such as the Sernefoot Crown Cup, which is Sernet's equivalent of the FA cup. The Crown Cup consists of 64 clubs, which includes the entire Gold League, Silver League and two-thirds of the Bronze League. The Bronze League clubs which get to participate are determined by their placement last season, with the top 12 clubs as well as the 4 which were relegated from the Silver League getting a spot. The tournament begins with a Group Stage, consisting of 16 groups of 4 teams. The Groups are decided through pots. The top 2 clubs from each Group advance to the Knockouts Stage. The eventual finalists have to make it through the Round of 32, the Hexadecifinals, the Quarterfinals, and the Semifinals. The losers of the semifinals face each other in the Third place playoff (3PPO) whereas the winners face off in the Grand Final for the Crown. All matches are single-legged.

Another major cup is the Pyramid Cup, which features qualifying rounds for clubs in lower leagues, however, the competition is not as prestigious as the Crown Cup. The first round of the Pyramid Cup begins at Division 9, the lowest league which is part of Sernefoot. The top 16 finishers from the season beforehand face off in knockouts until 4 clubs remain. These surviving clubs move on to face the top 12 finishers of Division 8, with the 4 clubs from Division 9 being added on to make a 16 club knockout bracket. The four clubs which make it out of these knockouts move on to face off against the top 12 finishers from Division 7, with the exact same structure carrying on through Divisions 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1. The 4 clubs which emerge from Division 1 are then narrowed down until two clubs emerge. The two surviving clubs then face off against the top 2 finishers of the Bronze League, Silver League and Gold League in the final Knockout Stage, the winner of which is the ultimate champion of the Pyramid Cup.

How to Get to Sernet

Sernet is remarkably easy to reach. Direct flights arrive from across the multiverse, with the majority funnelled into Sernetesen Storimidros International Airport, the nation's primary gateway to distant countries. These interstellar flights have been enabled by the the Gateway System, which allows vessels to pass through engineered wormholes and emerge at distant locations across space; for details, read my factbooks.
Travellers from nearer neighbours (like Armatonisdaristan) may instead land at Sernetesen West, Stensemertef International, or other large regional hubs. The national flag carrier, Sernetian Airways, operates most long-distance flights; its fleet is functional, modern and remarkably comfortable.
An alternative for those with access to flights to Armatonisdaristan is to take advantage of the legendary GUSM (Great Undersea Maglev). Departing from Aberstorf, the GUSM speeds beneath the ocean and surfaces on Sernet's shores, connecting directly to major cities at stations such as Sernetesen Gateway, Hostrisen International, Sultrisend Steamlake, Wosserom Obelisk, and more, as well as Stensemertef International and Nestomerisen International if taking GUSM Sleeper. The GUSM also provides a rail link from Smoltrendestof to the mainland as Smoltrendestof is conveniently located along the maglev trunk line, and the cities in Smoltrendestof are served by the namesake Smoltrendestof International station. Because the line is operated by Sernetrail, fares are astonishingly low, or at least cheaper than flying. Sernet loves trains, and wants you to use them. It is useful to know that you can travel on maglev domestically using Sernetrail Maglev services or the GUSM between stations in Sernet, but it is likely to be more expensive than travelling by conventional high-speed rail.
Cruise ships also arrive at several ports for those who dislike flying, though they take far longer than the sleek GUSM or the plane.

Getting Around Sernet

Upon arriving, travellers will quickly notice the defining characteristic of Sernet’s internal infrastructure: railways everywhere.
The rail network here is famously dense; an extensive web connecting every corner of the nation. Even the smallest settlement has at least one station; in urban centres, stations come every couple hundred metres. Trains are frequent, often punctual, cheap, clean, comfortable and used by virtually everyone. No matter where you are in the Sernetian Empire, unless it's a random remote overseas territory, you're never far from the railway.

Sernetesen, being the nation's vast capital, is a maze of transit systems: the SMR, SMR+, Sernetesen Sprinter, ESLR, Trams, Buses, Ferries and Sernetrail services too. Sernetrail services, branded under various different operators, operate commuter and suburban services in and around Sernetesen, high-speed and long-distance services to destinations around the country, as well as various slower, semi-fast and express regional services. Not to mention Sernetrail Maglev. Road travel is also popular, and Current Car Rentals operates across the country. However, traffic is moderately heavy in major cities, and while not an absolute nightmare, most visitors quickly realise the train is universally superior. Intercity coach lines such as Sernetbus exist but are generally slower and only marginally cheaper than rail.
Domestic flights do exist, but the train outperforms them so thoroughly that only the poshest of business travellers even bother.

Things to Know
Sernet is a deeply patriotic and somewhat disciplined country in terms of alcohol consumption. Visitors should be aware that:
-Anti-state chants or provocations can quickly escalate into confrontations (often with football hooligans).
-Police forces are strict (though not unreasonably brutal), heavily armed, and not shy about enforcing public order.
-The nation is somewhat socially conservative, and revealing clothing, especially for women, may attract unwanted attention in certain areas. Crime exists in some cities, particularly at night, and visitors are advised to stay on main streets and avoid wandering alone while intoxicated.

Sernet is also a Muslim-majority country, and while socially practical and modern, alcohol consumption is regulated. Drinking is allowed only in designated venues such as hotels, licensed bars and designated alcohol zones. Supporters celebrating match results must remain civil and follow local etiquette.
Despite these warnings, Sernetians are proud hosts, and the country is extremely safe when common sense is applied. Visitors will find a dynamic, efficient, loud, proud and unforgettable nation, a land of trains, skyscrapers, and football.

Calm, precise, and fearless under pressure. Pasarowski has become the Steamers' safest pair of hands, known for lightning reactions and a commanding voice that can silence even the rowdiest back line. A natural-born organiser and an absolute legend.

3) Janusz Tworpowski - Defender (Governorate Dameristol), 22

A young defensive prodigy with ice-cold composure. Reads attacks like a book and loves stepping forward to cut passing lanes early. Already a fan favourite for his "no-nonsense, no-panic" style.

4) Dominik Zoliba - Defender (Sermeslau Giants), 35

The veteran enforcer. Heavy, hard, and reliable as steel, exactly what Sernet's defence is built on. Zoliba brings decades of experience and can shut down even elite forwards with pure positioning and grit.

22) Stirius Mantrostem - Defender / Emergency Goalkeeper (Union Slalosol), 32

A utility warrior. Mantrostem is tough, tall, and unmovable in duels, equally comfortable sliding into desperate blocks or pushing up on set pieces. His odd dual-role background as an emergency keeper has given him exceptional spatial awareness. He carries the number 22 on his shirt as he believes it is lucky.

9) Stefan Jatrowski - Midfielder (Korona Stroławostok), 30

The engine. Jatrowski runs forever, presses endlessly, and stitches together Sernet's transitions with clean, vertical passing. A midfield bulldozer with intelligence to match his stamina.

16) Korolianus Stork - Midfielder, 2nd Vice Captain (Governorate Dameristol), 34

Stork is the tactical brain of the midfield, composed, elegant, and brutally efficient. When the Steamers need control, he supplies it; when they need cool leadership, he embodies it. Some people say he's the team's on-pitch diplomat.

8) Zbigniew Komstrowski - Midfielder, Vice Captain (Governorate Dameristol), 24

A versatile playmaker who drifts between lines and slices defences open. Komstrowski can operate as a traditional 8, a secondary 10, or even a hybrid winger. Creates sparks out of nothing.

15) Rami Alforez - Midfielder (Club Septingof), 19

Young, explosive, and fearless. Alforez brings raw pace and incisive dribbling to a midfield otherwise filled with veterans. A breakout star in the making with a knack for late runs into the box.

A disciplined holding midfielder who gives Sernet its backbone. Dottman wins the ball, cycles possession quickly, and anchors the entire system. Not flashy, just essential.

Fast, furious, hungry. Oluwawa is a counterattacking weapon who loves driving straight at defenders. Still very young, but already among the most exciting attacking talents in the entire Metrostocracy.

10) Sporius Bolsting - Forward, Captain (Stronghold Sernetesen FC), 26

The heartbeat of the Steamers. Bolsting is a relentless goalscorer, creative link-man, inspirational leader and emotional compass rolled into one. When Sernet needs a spark, a shove, a rallying cry, it comes from him.

The Eternal Championships

Sernet performed excellently in the 101st edition of the World Cup, qualifying for the World Cup Proper in only our second attempt at qualification. The Group stage was extremely tough however, and Sernet was eliminated with only a single point on the table. Not to worry however, even qualifying for the multiverse's most prestigious football tournament is an achievement in itself. The Steamers come into this new tournament filled with an array of very familiar nations hungry for goals and ready to do whatever it takes to succeed.

After a successful first two games at the global stage, the Kuromistani men's kicksphere team is back in action, and this time, the stakes are higher. They were one of eighteen squads invited to take part in the inaugural edition of The Eternal Championships, alongside those from the likes of Marenmia-Ocasia and Orlavia, and more experienced teams hailing from Natkr and Sernet. The latter one is particularly notable, having hosted the two friendly matches the Chill Boys have started their international journey with: an exciting 2-2 draw against Smoltrendestof, followed by a shock 1-0 victory over the Sernetians themselves.

In TEC I, the boys in purple found themselves drawn into a tough Group C. Their first opponents will be the team from Rangoon, followed by Southwest Horizonia, and then Austroguinea. Matchday four is the one game no Kuromistani can afford to miss, as it will be against one of the early favorites of the tournament and the second team the Chill Boys ever beat in their short history, who else but the Steamers of Sernet. Will it be purple or blue? Repeat or revenge? That will be answered in what may be one of the most anticipated matchups of the group stages. Last but definitely far from least, we have Marbleland, and then it's the playoffs, which the team hopes they'll play well enough to reach.

Kuromistan is an offense oriented team, preferring a 4-3-3 attacking style of play and finding strength in their, well, attackers. Striker Ethan Bell was the domestic league's top scorer for three of the past four years, with left winger Kalle Arvidsson, the man who scored against Sernet, the one breaking the streak last year. Max Lyons on the right is a wonderkid who's been having a great first year in the top flight, including a hat trick to give his team the win after being subbed on at halftime.

Now let's move on to the midfield. Captain Austin Prewett is the oldest player in this relatively young side at 27; he's a great motivator with an eye for always finding his man for a pass. Viktor Goncharov, the other CM, provides immense ball control and gracefulness - he was the grandson of a prominent Yuzhnyan ballerina, and in fact took lessons in his youth. Playing the CAM role is Ichiro Aihara, a reliable option for both goals and assists, and the best penalty taker in the team.

Aidan Murphy is the anchor of the Kuromistani defense - normally a laid back, easygoing fellow, but once he steps onto the field he becomes a tough, physical center back who's unafraid to back down. Alongside him is the versatile Ravi Kumar, representing his and his mother's birthplace of Kuromistan rather than his father's native Lankeshmati. While most comfortable at CB, he can play anywhere in the back four, and even midfield if needed. Left back Lucas Munhoz is just as known for working the hardest and yet never seeming to tire, as he is for his crazy hair; right back Jacob Silverstein is dangerous with headers, in fact the Chill Boys' first ever goal in the world stage came from one of his. Finally, there's the goalkeeper, Ollie Greco. He's just a few months younger than Prewett, but has the most top flight experience in the squad, eight years compared to the team captain's seven.

"I have a lot of faith in this team," said Jose Molina, the head coach. "They play off each other's strengths, and balance out each other's weaknesses." He then added, "But the group is also strong, in fact it's the closest we could have to a Group of Death in my opinion. I guess it'll come down to which team makes the fewest mistakes and shows they want that title the most."

The Constituent Province of Rangoon is in it's first International Association Soccer competition, with the talented Insein Football Club representing the Constituent Province of Rangoon to be in action, and for this time, the stakes are higher more than ever. The Insein Football Club was the one of the eighteen other football clubs, selected to join The Eternal Championships, alongside the Kuromistani, Sernetian, Natkrian and Marenmian-Ocasian football teams and delegations. Quite talented are the Sernet's and Natkr's football teams.

The Insein Football Club, representing the Constituent Province of Rangoon, was drawn in a tough Group C. Their opponents will be firstly the honourable football team of Kuromistani, assuming it follows by Southwest Horizonia and then Austroguinea.

Rangoon's Insein FC is quite more defense oriented team, we presume, preferring a 3-3-4 defensive style of play. Defender Henry Smith, a British man in his 20's, who is quite versatile compared to others. Defender Thant Mon Sin is a different story however, being born to Burmese parents, now 26. Defender Saw Lwin, a quite talented Burmese man, for his age is still 23, quite young. Defender Kyaw Zin Thu is another talented Burmese man, his age is 25, and be is one of the best defenders in Burma.

Moving onto the Midfielders; we see of Midfielder Htet Paing Linn, a Burmese man who has found quite popularity among the youth and is very skilled. Midfielder Nyan Linn Htet, Grandfather of U Sin Myo, defector to the British Army during the invasion of Burma, if I have to still say it, a Burmese man. Not talented as his peers however, some rumours say. Midfielder Sitt Paing Mue Zin is another Burmese man, around the age of 27. He is still in his youth and quite naive, yet quite hardworking and compassionate and the best penalty taker in his team.

To the attackers; Striker Pyi Min Soe, hailing from Makyena, commonly called Myitkyina too. He is a good striker, yet still must improve. Striker Bo Aung Kyaw, around the age of 24, is quite the Burmese Nationalist, word on the street says. However, he is quite skilled. Striker Aik San, a Rakhine national, a devout Christian and hailing from the Frontier Provinces and the Union of Burma.

The goalkeeper is Saw Ba Win, a 25 year old football goalkeeper, who is very talented.
The coach is Sr. Williams Sonner, a 32 year old scotman who was a player.

We have decided to send in a young squad but with great potential in the first Eternal Championships. This tournament will decide if our youngsters are able to overcome their upcoming obstacles and are strong mentally.

Our rookies of this tournament will be taking on the mighty Sernets. This is indeed a big challange, but they have received much support from home, with a over 5 million fans turning up in Serdtgyu for the match.

We do have many talents in this young squad, including Tyler Stones, Kieran Cutting, Lucas Howe, Arun Daniel, Rowan Andrews, Howard Pierce, Afiq Johan, Gregory Carragher, Yunus Rahman Sokheil and Rachin Singh.

However, Sernet players have a lot of experience, making this the Yellow Monkeys' greatest test yet.

GERTHOS, SERDTGYU — With the inaugural TET Invitational Championships now upon us, the Orlavian Men’s National Team has learned its path through the group stage.

The Worker’s Team has been drawn into Group A, alongside host nation Serdtgyu, Rechol, Unogondoria, Hayfielda, and Honeymoon Avenue. For Orlavia, attention now turns toward its opening fixtures and the task of establishing itself among the tournament's competing national sides. Ahead of the first whistle, interviewer Zoya Gorokhova sat down with head coach Valeri Frolov and captain Volodymyr Ponikarovsky to discuss the tournament, the squad, and the expectations surrounding the Worker’s Team.

“Discipline first. When we have the ball, we need to move it quickly and intelligently. When we lose it, we need to react together. We have quality going forward. Labazanov can create. Kotov and Yerofiyev can cause problems. Leonov gives us width. But none of that matters if we stop working as a team,” said Frolov, as he has set the team up in a strong, defense-first mindset.

Volodymyr Ponikarovsky has been entrusted with organizing the defense from the center of the back line. The Dynamo Krasnogorsk defender will wear the captain's armband as Orlavia begins its campaign. The 33-year-old seeks to play his first international game since the Carcassonne World Football Championships in 2022, when he was pulled from the quarterfinal match with a high ankle sprain.

“It's an honor to be captain of the national team. But once the match starts, you cannot think about the honor too much. You have a job to do. I have to defend. Everyone has their job,” said Ponikarovsky to Gorokhova’s question about what it means to wear the captain’s armband.

Orlavia, the #3 seed in Group A, plays their first game against the #4 seed, Unogonduria.

Kuromistan's first test in the first edition of The Eternal Championships will come against a rather unconventional opponent, at least in an international competition. The name appearing during the pot draw and the official matchday schedules released by the TEC host country Serdtgyu shows "Rangoon", but it is not in fact the Rangoonian national team that the Chill Boys will be testing their sphere-kicking skills against. Instead, it was Insein FC, a Rangoonian club team, that was chosen to represent their nation in the tournament.

"I personally think that's a bit unfair to the rest of the clubs in the country," said Kuromistan's captain Austin Prewett. However, he then added, "But who am I to question another nation's selection process? If they (Insein FC) were chosen, they must be really good. We can't let our guard down just because it's a club team."

Like the Chill Boys, Insein FC plays a 4-3-3, but with a more emphasis on defense compared to the Kuromistanis' attacking approach. Wonderkid Saw Lwin and star player Kyaw Zin Thu are especially going to be a problem. "We have to break down that Rangoonian wall, and tire out the defenders, particularly Thu and Lwin," said Kuromistan head coach Jose Molina. "We will dictate the pace of this game. Attack early, and attack often."

Of course the Rangoonians won't be without weapons elsewhere in the field. Midfielder Sitt Paing Mue Zin is their counterpart for the Chill Boys' Ichiro Aihara as the go to guy for pens, while Bo Aung Kyaw is the most skilled striker. "Not gonna lie, I look forward to squaring up against him," Kuromistan's defender Aidan Murphy told the press, referring to Kyaw. "We gotta show that they're not the only ones with a capable defense here - so do we, even if the world's attention is on our offense." Meanwhile, goalkeeper Ollie Greco said of his Rangoonian counterpart Saw Ba Win, "I heard he's considered a huge talent in his home country, I also want to see if it's true."
