It will move here once the new forums prove they can handle it (there's quite a lot of posts involved). I suggest you read through the jolt threads to get an idea of what to do.

There are 3 international cups, 1 is very much like the CL and then theres 2 others for lower ranking teams. Creating another competing competition will probably not get you very far as there are well established scorinators that the community (mostly) trust.

The most recent World Bowl just finished (literally, JUST finished, as in on Monday or Tuesday of this week) and the next one isn't scheduled to take place until July. (July is planned because it's the start of training camp for the NFL).
However, feel free to use the Domestic football thread to report what is going on in YOUR country. If this thread starts to fill up, I would be willing to run a champions league of some sort. I would recommend this route if you wanted to do something right now.

These threads are guidelines to help you see what some of NS's biggest football (gridiron) fans have already gotten started, and we are always willing to see new people get involved. Eventually we will move over to these new forums too, probably when they are out of "beta" status. You could try to do your own thing, but I would recommend you getting involved in what's already established.

I am one of a handful of people who over see the World Bowl competitions on NationStates, feel free to ask me any questions you may have.

Also note that we (most of us anyway) refer to "American" football as Gridiron simply to avoid confusion (and pointless debates) with the other sport known as football, that we typically call soccer.

Speed of game, simplicity of rules and skills requried, and also no need for lots of equipment. Soccer was spread to the entire world via England, while American Football is a divergence of rugby, which itself is only really played in Commonwealth nations. Fairly simple, really.
