Ranoria's Very Own:
NSCAA Rosters!

Permissions: Literally anything goes with these boyos, barring 'rona stuff or dying.
Key: Top players starting, guys below them are their backup. Underlined players are considered to be above average, bold players are considered to be future all-stars
First up, the ones you're most familiar with...

Richardson University Governors

Quick Facts
Nickname: Governors
Colors: Red/White
Head Coach: Billy Garrett
Arena: Richardson Arena, 13,500
Located: Richardson, Ranoria
Accolades: NSCAA 13 Salamantica Conference Champions

Richardson is one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in the country. Located in the nation's capitol, they're known as a gridiron football school and are historically the nation's most dominant program on that front, but they generally field a respectable squad in basketball as well. Despite winning the conference in NSCAA 13, the Governors program collapsed that season due to being swept in this sport’s inaugural edition of the Richardson-Loyola-Istria rivalry. They’ve attacked recruiting hard though, with one young man in particular, Franklin Jones, looking to be a future star. Head coach Billy Garrett is in his sixth season now, as Markus Volgelstein was fired after the Loyola-Istria sweep (though he’s gone on to do great things in the IBC) and Arnold Hilliard didn't last much longer- the team has consistently posted a winning record in his tenure.

Drake Milton's the star of the show here. Solid defender who racks up stupid rebound numbers and can sometimes do a points on a good night.

Cold Hill University Buffalo

Quick Facts
Nickname: Buffalo
Colors: Maroon/Gold
Head Coach: Lennart Mayenburg
Arena: The Igloo - 14,000
Located: Cold Hill, Ranoria

Bundle up if you're going to this one! Cold Hill is in the northern reaches of an already cold country in Ranoria, but that's why they're traditionally a basketball school! While football has definitively taken over as the school's primary sport, the basketball team is their oldest program, so you should be in for some exciting games! Hardman Pierce is a solid center and Buck Adelhard can rack up points in a hurry.

Ranoria State University Wolfhounds
Quick Facts
Nickname: Wolfhounds
Colors: Black and Blue
Head Coach: Randal Harrington
Arena: Heron's Dome - 24,500
Located: Ranoria City, Ranoria
Accolades: NSCAA 13 Sweet 16

Located in the largest city in the country, Ranoria State is a huge school with powerhouse sports programs. They've won two of the last ten national championships in basketball and look to be the prime contenders among Ranorian programs to actually do something in this competition. They're returning center Felix Carrington, who was a standout for them in NSCAA 15. Ronnie Caruther was the MVP of the Ranorian National Championship this season.

Vricksinburg State University Pheasants

Quick Facts
School Name: Vricksinburg State University
Nickname: Pheasants
Colors: Brown and orange
Head Coach: Tobias Wilkow
Arena: Vricksinburg State Arena - 13,022
Located: Vricksinburg, Ranoria

One of the older universities in the nation, Vricksinburg is known as a football school and holds its students to strict academic curriculum. If they actually manage to do anything significant, we will be nothing less than shocked, but they have entered and will likely conduct themselves in a professional manner. Expect a well coached team with heavy scheming to get shooters open.

Alumni and former center Carl Wentz dreamed of being for basketball in Ranoria what Leonardo Harrison was for baseball. The legendary shortstop was the superstar of his generation, spearheading an ascendent national and bringing notoriety in the country. But Wentz? He was honorary mention academic-all-freshman in the conference at one point and is now playing for a pick-up league at his local gym. But there, at least, he can dominate.

They don't have any crazy standouts this season.

University of Dietrich Snow Bears

Quick Facts
Nickname: Snow Bears
Colors: Sky Blue and White
Head Coach: Tucker Levin
Arena: Heritage Arena - 6,301
Located: Dietrich, Ranoria

As is a trend with this group, they're a football school first and foremost. The University of Dietrich is traditionally a conservative school with academic rigors, but in recent decades fraternities, sororities, and the sports teams have been breaking that mold. So if you happen to encounter a hungover player or two, don't be surprised. They have a heated rivalry with Richardson, and the basketball & wrestling teams have pretty much taken over the primary role there with football deciding that A: Loyola-Istria is the more hated team and B: NSCF goes way harder than Ranorian College Football.

Matthensville Polytechnic Institute Cryptokleptics

Quick Facts
Nickname: Cryptokleptics
Colors: Orange
Head Coach: Bochniak Ether
Arena: Moonshill Court - 9,400
Located: Matthensville, Ranoria
Accolades: NSCAA 13 DCIT Quarterfinalists

The cryptokleptics are an interesting lot. After a crypto craze took over the school some 38 years ago, students as a whole have identified themselves with it. In fact, it's part of the school's recruiting now. Those with an entrepreneur's spirit are welcome - the school's investing communities and courses mean that most students are able to pay off their loans before graduating. In fact, an alumni of MPI headed the team that developed Ranoria's now wholly adopted digital currency system.

Oh, you wanted to know about basketball? Yeah, it's a joke to them. They don't care all that much about it. Infamously barely made it to their first DCIT tournament game in NSCAA 13 because they didn’t know they were scheduled to play.

University of Rouyoutte Lions

Quick Facts
Nickname: Lions
Colors: Purple/Blue
Head Coach: Richard Henry
Arena: Rouyoutte Arena, 10,500

Rouyoutte is one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in the country. Located in one of Ranoria's larger cities, they're known as a stringent academic school and are historically the nation's most sought after large university for this purpose. They do still manage to field strong and respectable sporting teams in a variety of arenas, although championship aspirations and top recruits are limited due to rigorous expectations off the field.

Laurent Dupont-Lefèvre, who played in NSCAA 15, was one of the best players in team history, and led the team to a national championship in his tenure. Despite that recent success, it's very doable to take over this stadium. Natives of the region arounding the Crownlands Mountains - which Rouyoutte serves as the capitol of - don't really care about sports for the most part.

Notably students at the university have protested the gold mining of the northern territory, Isguld, which is less than a hundred miles north. They've yet to disrupt classes or sporting events, but have been a regular if infrequent presence on campus the last few years.

- By the Banijan calendar, the NSCAA occurs every 3rd year. In seasons that schools compete in the NSCAA, they do not compete in domestic basketball. In NSCAA years, domestic basketball continues, just without the NSCAA schools. So the last 15 years has looked like this. So Year 11 records shown are 2 seasons before NSCAA 13, and Year 12 is record in season prior to NSCAA 13, while Year 13 is NSCAA 13.

- All players are both Banijan and male unless otherwise specified
- BCSG stands for Banijan Collegiate Sports Group. It is the Banijan equivalent of Division I of the NCAA. There are 72 member institutions of this group.
- Banijan domestic regular season has 28 games, consisting of 8-12 non-conference games and 16-20 conference games, depending on the conference. 16 out of 59 total teams make the tournament, seeded 1-16. The 8 conference champions(there are no conference tournaments),and 8 at-large sides as picked by a selection committee. The first 2 rounds are Best of 3, all occurring at the home court of the higher seed. 3rd round is Best of 5(2-2-1 format), and Championship series is Best of 7(2-2-1-1-1 format).
- The BCSG's automatic qualifiers are anyone who made the national semifinals in Year 20 or Year 21. The automatic qualifiers were Loyola-Istria, University of Moravica, Kizza I College, Aksum State, Lake Alexandre State, the Islamic University of Busoga, and the University of Bunyoro. With an 8th spot, the BCSG voted Northern Moravica- not for their on-court accomplishments, of course, but based on brand name.
- Banijan players are quite proud players. Therefore, they will talk trash, they will show off, and they will show boat. They will talk trash to the fans and about each other. They'll try to look fancy and go for the highlight reel play, even at the expense sometimes of the safe play- sometimes it works out, sometimes it does not.
- There is no regular season camaraderie among these fanbases, as Banijan fans emphasize their rivalries with one another. Despite that, Banijans who are not fans of one of these 8 schools will generally root for everybody during the regular season. There's generally camaraderie once the postseason rolls around, as Banijans will root for Banijan schools, and then other NSCF schools, in the Ultra 64- although schools will never root for their major rivals(aka Northern Moravica fans will never root for Loyola-Istria). None of the above, however, applies to the Islamic University of Busoga- unless they are playing a rival, pretty much all Banijans root against them.
- The Islamic University of Busoga, despite being in Busoga, are a full member of the BCSG- so they participate in Banijan sporting competition for all sports, and generally do not play Busogan schools in anything. THis is because they invest far more into sport than any other Busogan schools, and only Banijan sport would be at their level. The only exception is gridiron, where they particpiate in the Celestia Conference of the NSCF alongside Banija's two biggest sporting schools, Loyola-Istria and Northern Moravica. They are the only non-Banijan full-time member of the BCSG.

Constantly disappointing, NSCAA 13 and 14 were nightmares for NMU as their watched their biggest rivals earned NSCAA championships- with Loyola getting theirs in NSCAA 13, while U of Moravica got theirs in NSCAA 14. It drives NMU crazy that their biggest rivals have surpassed them greatly in this sport, and they haven't even been to a Final Four. The pressure here is both high, and pretty damn toxic, if we're being honest, for NMU to finally get theirs.

Starting 5

Cheer Northern Moravica

Tune of the Notre Dame Fight Song

Rally Northern! Sing today
Defend our glory, honor our fame!
Raise her red and white
And sing out with great delight
Rah Rah for N-M-U!
Our men will fight in every game
True to the North worthy of her name!
Loyal up to the end
Her honor we must defend
N-M-U!

Cheer Northern Moravica!
Like Cougars we roar singing her name!
Praise to our great God on high
Because our rivals we will defy!
On this day Loyola will fall
Northern with victory over all
While we score a touchdown
And bring glory to NMU! (x2)

U of M is by far Banija's most successful school in the NSCAA. Five NSCAA conference titles, three NSCAA title game appearances, Banija's only ever #1 overall seed for the Ultra 64 in NSCAA 13, and then finally getting over the hump and winning the whole damn thing in NSCAA 14. They are Banija's premier blue blood hoops program- and nobody can stop that. George Lampda has been at the core of that success, having coached U of M the entire time. He's getting up there in years, and there are rumors that this might be his last season- but we shall see. But anyways- as long as he's the coach, this is a team that's got a chance to win a NSCAA championship- and will surely be a tough out in the Ultra 64. And, of course, they will be desperate to add to their trophy stock- look for them to aggressively pursue conference title #6.

Head Coach: George Lampda Jr. 37 years old. Son of the famous George Lampda, he's finally striking it out on his own. Being an assistnat under the greatest college hoops coach in Banijan history tends to help you out a little bit, and excitement levels are high for him with the Cubs. While many think he will eventually take his Dad's job at U of M, he's in the Banijan capitol right now- and he's dreaming big, saying that this squad might be the 'most talented' in Banijan CBB history. Is it their year?

Lake Alexandre State men's basketball team
School Profile
Full Name: Lake Alexandre State Univeristy
Nickname: Vipers
Location: Kigati, Hangaza
Type: Public, College town.
Enrollment: 13,494
School President: Dr. Tshimpaka Bukuku. 71 years old.
Athletic Director: Mulemba Odongo. 42 years old.
List of NSCAA Appearances: None(First time appearance)
Year 20 Record: 24-4, lost to Loyola in national semifinals
Year 21 Record: 25-3, lost to the University of Ankole in the first round
Rivals: Western Hangaza
Colors: Green, Purple
Domestic Conference: Valley Interior Conference
NSCAA 16 Conference: North Coast Conference

Head Coach: Lazafeno Rakotoarijaona. 65 years old. The rise of Lake Alexandre State might be the most shocking in Banijan college sports history. Always known for being good at academics rather than sport, they've suddenly built a near powerhouse basketball program, seemingly out of nowhere. Their stunning run two years back to the Banijan national semifinals was followed up by both a conference title and #2 overall seed. While they were stunned in the first round of the playoffs by a 15 seed, this team is suddenly looking like one of the strongest in Banija. Is it a flash in the pan- or can that success be replicated in the international version of the sport?

Team loves to go small- pretty poor rebounders, but they are peak analytics- tons of threes, no mid-range Js, etc..

Defense: Man-To-Man.

Starting Lineup
PG #1 Burama Baldeh. 5'10. Junior.
SG #17 Malik Kaba. 6'4. Senior. Star player.
SF #10 Sherif Touré. Mlima Kijani. 6'5. Junior.

PG #15 Tamba Soley. 6'1. Freshman.
SG #27 Banja Niang. 6'2. Sophomore.
C #14 Baturu Ogunsola. 6'10. Freshman.

They play at the Snake Pit. Capacity of 8,198.

Aksum State University men's basketball team
School Profile
Full Name: Aksum State University
Nickname: Stars
Location: Lazkiban, Aksum.
Type: Public, Land Grant, Rural.
Enrollment: 19,430
School President: Dr. Monifa Adetutu. 61 years old.
Athletic Director: Yejede Mutoke. 55 years old. One of few female ADs in Banija.
List of NSCAA Appearances: NONE(First Appearance)
Year 20 Record: 16-12, did not qualify for the BCSG Playoffs
Year 21 Record: 21-7, lost to the University of Bunyoro in the national semifinals
Rivals: University of Aksum
Colors: Colors: Blue & Silver
Domestic Conference: Northern 9 Conference
NSCAA 16 Conference: Calania Conference

Head Coach: Nashe Kyagumbo. 34 years old. A young coach in his second year- Aksum State might have made the most surprising run to the NSCAAs, outside of Lake Alexandre State. Always decent at this sport- never good, never awful- they were never quite good enough to reach the national semifinals, in any season, and get to this competition. But Kyagumbo had a surprising amount of success in year 1, and they reached the national semis last year- and therefore, qualified for this tournament. He was chased after by NMU, but got a fat raise to stay in the true north(as they call themselves). A defensive minded team, they are looking to shock hearts and minds.

Defense: Man-To-Man.

Starting Lineup
PG #1 Kamil Umar. 6'3. Freshman.
SG #17 Finn Bature. 6'6. Sophomore.
SF #10 Felix Mansa. Hannasea. 6'7. Junior.
PF #19 Galabba Danjuma. 6'9. Sophomore. Team's star player.
C #9 Habib Faizu(Busoga Islands). 7'1. Senior.
Bench
PF #13 Odongo Obura. 6'8. Senior.
SF #11 Malchus Ogola. 6'5. Sophomore.
PG #0 Sirion Okoka. 6'1. Sophomore.
SG #22 Kohath Adongo. 6'4. Senior.
C #4 Cyprus Obong'o. 7'0. Freshman.

They play at Lugave County Public Arena. Capacity of 9,202.

Islamic University of Busoga Caracals men's basketball team
School Profile
Full Name: Islamic University of Busoga
Nickname: Caracals
Location: Lakiska, South Island, Busoga Islands
Type: Private, urban, research, religious.
Religious Affiliation: Twelver Shia Islam
Enrollment: 22,393 (massive enrollment increase because of NSCF appearances)
School President: Dr. Ender Inci. 55 years old. 3rd year in charge.
Athletic Director: Ocak Sumer. 45 years old. 2nd year in charge.
Last NSCAA Appearance: NSCAA 9. Went 19-11, went to the Ultra 64. Lost in the second round.
Year 20 Record: 19-9, lost in the 1st round to the University of Moravica
Year 21 Record: 26-2, national champions
Rivals: Northern Moravica, Loyola-Istria
Colors: Colors: Black & Red
Domestic Conference: Upper Coastal Conference
NSCAA 16 Conference: Woodlands Conference

Head Coach: Sofian Tawil(Busoga Islands). 45 years old. 5th year at the school, and he's a BCSG National champion. It's a high-flying time for Busogan sports, one that has caused a near panic across Banija- some success in the NSCF, and now, a BCSG national championship headed into the NSCAAs- it's a great time to be heading this program during their first NSCAA appearance in 7 editions- the longest ever drought for a BCSG school. Can a national title be parlayed into international success? Hard to say- but success on the gridiron has dramatically raised expectations for the basketball program- if they aren't, at minimum, competing for a conference title, then the discourse will get dark real fast.

Defense: 2-1-2 zone.

Starting Lineup
PG #1 Awadah Sibari(Busoga Islands). 6'2. Redshirt Senior. Graduate transfer from Kocasun Lake University in the Busoga Islands.
SG #17 Bikal Maliki. 6'4. Sophomore. Team's only Banijan, and star player. Won most outstanding player last year in their BCSG national championship run.
SF #10 Wasim El-Ouadie(Busoga Islands). Sophomore.
PF #19 Mujahid Belghiti(Busoga Islands). 6'9. Senior.
C #9 Aziz Mourad(Busoga Islands). 7'0. Junior.
Bench
PF #13 Lubaid al-Ghumari(Busoga Islands). 6'8. Freshman.
SF #11 Hamza Torres(Busoga Islands). 6'5. Senior.
PG #0 Mourad al-Ansari(Busoga Islands). 6'1. Junior.
SG #22 Mohammed Bouasria(Busoga Islands). 6'4. Sophomore.
C #4 Baariq Ghallab(Busoga Islands). 7'0. Freshman.

They play at the Busoga Regional Arena, capacity of 17,400.

Hoist Busoga High! (Only relevant part is the first 1:15 of the song)

We fought for thee, and now we are free
As Caracals come from on high

The Islands be ours, and by God's power
The Red and Black, we'll roam

Yo-Ho, Come Together
Hoist Busoga High!
Red Go, Black Forever!
Never shall we die!

Explanation: This fight song was written after the Busoga Island's independence from Banija. The first line is in reference to fighting for the Busoga Islands in general- but it is also a reference historically, when, over 100 years ago while the place was still part of Banija, all Mormon influence was taken out of the University.

Caracals is the school mascot- it is in reference to Caracals coming down from the mountains.

Third line references the Busoga Islands- and the fourth line, red and black, are the school's colors.

The second stanza is a war chant- the song originated as a war song from Busogan fighters when Banija colonized Busoga over 300 years ago, and was resurrected during the Banijan-Equestrian War(or the Busogan War for Independence), which occurred during World Cup 80. So as this school is seen as a national symbol in many ways, it fits to use that in this song- although the third line has a slight change- instead of "All Go, Islands Forever" it is "Red Go, Black Forever" to make it more school specific.

Sadeg is one of Drawkland's most historic cities, and its namesake university is no exception. It is debatably one of the oldest constantly-running institutions of learning in all of Sonnel, depending on how you count the division between the University and the Spartan Academy. It has always been one to start off strong with winning sports when they first become popular, and basketball was perhaps the most prominent example of this. They've been a contending force since the inception of the collegiate league.

Without a doubt, Sadeg State University was the most dominant team in NSCAA 7. In the Gravity Conference, they attained a perfect record, swept the conference championship, and went on to be seeded #1 in all of the Ultra 64. They were on a hot streak, throwing down left and right, an unstoppable force. 31 consecutive wins, and they seemed like nobody could match them. Unless you were the University of Cenial. In the final game, the one that mattered most, Sadeg State lost 59-67 in the most disappointing loss of the entire NSCAA.

After several seasons of disappointing results for the Skyhawks, NSCAA 10 was crucial to prove that the NSCAA 7 wasn't just a fluke, and that Sadeg State was still a true power in the NSCAA. This started off well, with Sadeg State taking control of the Sky Blue Conference and winning the conference championship. Ranked #5, they came into the Ultra 64 with a chip on their shoulder and a bracket where they could dominate. And dominate they did, all the way to the Final Four for the second time, and into the final for the second time. They may not have been undefeated at this point, but they were finally back to the promised land. At the time, only one school had ever been to the NSCAA final twice, that being Loudon Empire University from Newmanistan. They lost both those matchups. Sadeg State couldn't afford to fail again this time, so they didn't. A five-point win over Banija's University of Moravica was enough to finally crown the Skyhawks champions, the second Drawkian team to do so.

NSCAA 12 was a return to the form everybody expected from the Skyhawks after their NSCAA 10 victory. In a decently tough Five Star Conference, Sadeg State cruised to a regular season and tournament conference championship, garnering the #3 seed in the ensuing Ultra 64. It was their highest seed since NSCAA 7, but the result was much worse. In a historic first-round upset rivaling the failures of Cemmendy Tech, the Skyhawks were blasted by almost 30 points at the hand of bubble team Richmond Racing School, and sent home much earlier than anybody anticipated. NSCAA 13 was at least some improvement. Returning to the Five Star conference, Sadeg State once again ran the table, but lost to a surging University of Hondo in the Sweet 16, ending the hopes for a second title run. NSCAA 14 was another low spot, with the Skyhawks landing 6th in the Salamantica, losing in the conference quarterfinals, and falling in overtime to Kizza I College in the second round of the Ultra 64.

NSCAA 15 was a return to relevance that the Skyhawks desperately needed. In fact, their run hearkened back to their legendary NSCAA 7 campaign. Their undefeated conference stage and conference tournament win was the first since FIT in NSCAA 11. Sadeg State absolutely clobbered the competition in the Ultra 64, winning every game by double digits besides their 65-60 win in the Elite Eight. Once again, Sadeg State was one game away from the only fully undefeated season in NSCAA history. Once again, they absolutely collapsed, losing by double digits to Alexandria University. How do you follow that up?

Ducentu State University is the prestigious university out of Ducentu, the city wedged at the border of 3 territories - Malicollet, Kanyoet, and Ellzidanet. Like Elmanden and Cemmedy, it's a big member of the modern computing industry, the three cities form a sort of triumvirate as far as the IT business goes. Data science is the big major coming out of the college, but of course all types and manners of engineering are mainly studied here. The Ducentu State law program is also nationally renowned.

After missing NSCAA 7, Ducentu came to NSCAA 8 with the intention of making a big splash, and that they did. After easily cruising to the Sweet Sixteen, Ducentu were pitted against the ultimate evil known as the University of Cenial, the NSCAA 7 champions who brutally and horribly defeated the previously-undefeated Sadeg State in the final. Ducentu, while not being present in the tournament leading up to that loss, knew how important it was to slay the beast before it grew any bigger. A 78-94 win that absolutely flattened UCenial arose, and Ducentu were the Drawkian heroes for awhile longer. Then in the Elite Eight they came face to face with Elmanden District College, and you know how that turned out.

NSCAA 10 would be Ducentu State's breakout cycle. They went 27-1 in the Eternal Conference and won the conference tournament, the single loss easily being enough to net them the #1 seed for the Ultra 64. The title ambitions were unexpected, but the Eagles planned to capitalize on them as soon as possible. Things went smoothly, of course, until they reached Concord Heights Beauty School in the Elite Eight. It was only a matter of time until the dream came crashing down, and despite a surprisingly good season overall, it was impossible to not feel a tinge of regret.

Though the Eagles had made some reasonably deep runs in the Ultra 64, it felt like NSCAA 13 was a make-it-or-break-it cycle for Ducentu State. Instead of backing down from the challenge, they surprised Drawkians and the world. Despite a middling performance in the Calania Conference, the Eagles made a big run come tournament time. They made their first Final Four, hilariously knocking out Cavsar in that semifinal before unceremoniously losing to Loyola-Istria in the final. The missed chance at a title hurt, but it did save State's inclusion for future NSCAA editions, which is a big plus.

NSCAA 14 was not the follow-up Ducentu States was hoping for. A win away from second in the Woodlands Conference, the Eagles had to settle for third on the table and a quarterfinal loss in the conference. They were subsequently flattened by Matthensville Polytechnic in the first round of the Ultra 64, a truly humiliating performance for a team that wanted to return to the title game. Despite not going undefeated in the Calania Conference in NSCAA 16, Ducentu State's superior play netted them the #1 seed in the tournament. Their only 2 regular season losses came against conference foe Alexandria University - and it was Alexandria that eliminated the Eagles in the Elite Eight. It was a step back into relevance, but a severe disappointment to not make the Final Four.

Elmanden is a city in eastern Malicollet, close to Ducentu and the closest real city to Cemmendy. Elmanden District University is a school devoted to mainly the study of Information Technology and various types of Engineering, their programs are in the highest tiers of the nation's. Another part of the technological triumvirate in Drawkland's mideast, Elmanden is a destination for many on the physical side of computers and other such instruments.

In Drawkland, Elmanden has quickly risen to be a sort of mini-dynasty, winning the domestic tournament twice in recent memory. Momentum is definitely on their side.

In NSCAA 7, Elmanden were ranked 5th overall in the bracket. Unfortunately, they lost 65-101 to the Instituto Universitario Politicnico de Carabobo, the 60th seed (who were walloped by our own Metropolon next round). The loss was absolutely humiliating and many pointed fingers at bad officiating, but it was too late. After such an embarrassment, Elmanden was determined to return with fire, and that they did. In NSCAA 8, they grabbed the 2nd seed overall in the tournament, and got poetic justice by defeating their first-round opponent 100-65. They easily cruised through the tournament, and defeated Keisler College from Newmanistan in the Final Four to ensure an all-Drawkian NSCAA championship game. Against Old Mountain University, a sort of cinderella story (as far as Drawkians are concerned), Elmanden flexed their might once more and defeated the Mountaineers 95-76 to claim the NSCAA 8 title.

NSCAA 10 would be a return to great heights, as Elmanden would dominate the Woodland Conference and go on to capture the #3 seed in the Ultra 64. On top of that, they gained their second Final Four berth. A chance to not only make the final again, but to possibly have an all-Drawkian championship. This wouldn't be on the cards though, and the University of Moravica would move on to the final. Thankfully Sadeg State won the game and took the spotlight off Elmanden's failure on a national level, but the Mechanor Faithful are still left wondering what could've been.

Since then, the Mechanors haven't been able to replicate that earlier success. Most recently, NSCAA 13 featured EDU rolling over the Eternal Conference in both regular season and tournament play, but they suffered a revenge loss to none other than the University of Moravica in the Sweet 16. NSCAA 14 featured a return to the Eternal, but they could only manage 4th in the conference and couldn't even make it to the conference semis. They lost in heartbreaking last-second fashion to South Caddo in the first round. In NSCAA 16 the Mechanors were shifted to the Newlands Conference and once again barely got to 4th place, but they still grabbed an autoberth by running the conference tournament and winning the title in overtime against Yoseo University. Unsurprisingly, they tapped out in the Round of 16 of the Ultra 64.

Cavsar University is a school in the west of the Iarocavet territory. Cavsar isn't a huge city, it could be considered more of a college town near the mountains, and thus Cavsar doesn't get much attention. In gridiron, the university is a formidable foe, but the basketball team has always been lacking until recently. In the times of old, Cavsar featured many combat sports between skilled athletes, hence why their nickname are the Gladiators.

Cavsar struggled with irrelevance in basketball until very recently, when coach Les Benson came and changed the program around for the better. Now the Gladiators aren't just another team to wish they could make the big dance, but instead are contenders for the title year after year.

Despite being a new addition to the Drawkland slate of NSCAA schools in NSCAA 10, Cavsar got to work proving their worth. They won the Pink 15 conference handily and got the #11 seed in the tournament. With the way the bracket was set up, they'd potentially have to deal with the first Drawkian-on-Drawkian matchup in the Sweet 16 (against Cemmendy Tech) if they made it that far. Cavsar held up their end of the bargain, but unfortunately Cemmendy lost to Concord Heights ... who in turn, defeated Cavsar as well on their way to finally being beaten by a Drawkian school in the Elite Eight.

NSCAA 12 would be the big breakthrough for Cavsar, not just in basketball, but for the university's entire image. The Orange 16 Conference was the most stacked in the league, with seven whole schools making the Ultra 64. Cavsar managed to come away with the regular season title, though it wasn't easy. They almost won the conference tournament, and got a favorable matchup against the #7 conference seed Starksville Medical Institute. They lost, allowing the lowest conference seed to be a tournament champion. This raised a lot of questions about their viability in the Ultra 64 ... but they proved everybody wrong by making it to the final against Hondo. Then they got spanked and lost the championship despite being one win away!

How did the Gladiators follow up this performance? A 29-1 record in the Shango Conference, getting the #2 seed in the entire Ultra 64, and making a second consecutive Final Four appearance (the second Drawkian school to do -- since Corinth City University did in NSCAA 7 and 8). This time, instead of waiting until the championship game to lose in hilarious fashion, they went ahead and lost to Ducentu State in the Final Four instead!

NSCAA 14 went for Cavsar like it did for most of the Drawkian slate. A middling 6th in the conference, a quarterfinal conference tournament exit, and an early round loss in the Ultra 64. At least Cavsar took Penske College to overtime to lose in heartbreaking fashion, rather than a blowout! Classic Cavsar. NSCAA 15? More of the same. They did win the Pink 14 conference title, but not the tournament. In the Ultra 64 they were one of the first Drawkian schools eliminated, losing in the second round.

Old Mountain University is, well, an old university near a mountain. It's situated in the north of Drawk City (hence the Northerners nickname), technically in a suburb outside of the city but still claiming to be apart of the greater area (which is is). It's like that one college that everyone knows but forgets about. They have a wide assortment of degrees, but considering its size, location, and atmosphere, it's often described as "the community college that's not." It's a commuter university which is chill and renowned for its low rates, and not really hated by anyone.

Old Mountain didn't qualify for NSCAA 7, seeing as they're more of a laid-back program that doesn't really get much attention or success. After a wild upset qualification into NSCAA 8, they made the most of it, miraculously grabbing the 4th seed spot from the bracket and unloading points upon points on their opposition. Throughout the Ultra 64, they never allowed more than 70 points, and won by double-digit margins until the Final Four where they only beat Corinth City by 8 points. In their unprecedented run to the final, however, the magic ran out at the very end. They may have lost by 19 points to Elmanden in the most important game of their history, but they captured all of our hearts in the process.

The Northerners hadn't really made a big impact in the NSCAA since, with their best performance being the most recent: an Elite Eight appearance in NSCAA 13 (where they were vanquished by Ducentu State). They followed that with a Sweet 16 appearance in NSCAA 14, which isn't inspiring, but they were somehow the only Drawkian team to make it that far in an otherwise awful year for this nation. Conversely, despite winning the United Conference pretty simply in NSCAA 15, they were one of the first Drawkian schools eliminated in the Ultra 64. Still, since their shock introduction in NSCAA 8, Old Mountain is no longer a pushover or a cinderella school. They've carved out an interesting legacy so far, and maybe they'll finally win a title to prove their worth for good.

Drawk Corps U is a university in Drawkland, the main campus of which is located in Drawk City, Drawkland's largest metropolitan area of several million people. It's owned and operated by the Drawk Corps, which is the main corps registered in the National Corps System of Drawkland. All of its students are members of the Drawk Corps. Since the Drawk Corps is a national organization, there are many supporters of the university nationwide, and some enrolled online or on other, smaller, campuses.

Drawk Corps also owns a club in the DBO of the same name, and the university team is mainly considered a "feeder" for it. However, both teams are very good, considered the best in the nation by many, within their respective leagues. Out of the many centuries of Drawkian university basketball play, the Drawk Corps University basketball team has currently racked up 107 national titles over its history.

In short, over Drawk Corps University's long tenure in the NSCAA, they've done exactly jack shit. Their best shot at a title run was last cycle, in NSCAA 13, where they went 13-1 in the Shining Sun Conference and earned a nice seeding in the tournament. They lost in the second round. If our count is right, the Corps has never reached the Elite Eight in eight attempts. If it weren't for the reputation of the Corps itself, the University would have been ejected from Drawkland's NSCAA slate long ago. Maybe that time is coming soon.

At this point, Corps University has gone from being the team to fear inside Drawkland's borders to nearly a laughing stock everywhere else. Many Drawkian neutrals will laugh at the normally egotistical DCU fans being served a taste of their own medicine, but maybe that's what Corps U needs to finally get over the hump.

Raikennax was an ancient city known as a crossroads and melting pot in Drawkian culture, long before the nation itself was founded. The closest major city to Valsum, the volcano in the center of Drawkland, Raikennax has always been one of the bigger and more relevant cities not located in the north. Due to its notoriety, the University of Raikennax was established very early in Drawkian history. The sports programs weren't born as quickly, but once collegiate sports were starting to popularize, UofR hopped on the train and has been contending ever since.

Though they had a recent period of rebuilding, the Red Knights have returned to prominence on the hardwood and are looking to bring that domestic success to the NSCAA stage. With the formerly great Corinth City University being embarrassingly bad in NSCAA 12, the door opened for a school new to the NSCAA to have a chance. Raikennax managed to fit the bill, and the hope was that they could compete at a high level in their first cycle, NSCAA 13. Things seemed to be going well when they won the competitive North Coast Conference, but they ended up being the only Drawkian school eliminated in the first round of the Ultra 64, a huge blowout loss to Mount Ester despite being a Top 10 seed. NSCAA 14 was a step backwards, but pretty much every Drawkian team was mid that cycle, so the Red Knights get a pass for that. NSCAA 15 had another strong conference showing, but another early round loss, this time in heartbreaking fashion to South Caddo. You have to imagine the leash is getting short.

Cemmendy Tech is a university devoted to the technological. Its students are some of the most well-versed in the computer realm as some of those who've created the machines in the first place. The mascot is the "Cyberpunks," one that was chosen by the students after the advent of advanced technology and the term for users of it arose.

For NSCAA 7, Cemmendy easily won their conference, a fantastic record and a great tournament showing granting them the 3rd seed out of all the Ultra 64. That, however, inexplicably did no good as they lost 84-85 in a heartbreaker to the unknown Shibusen School of Aji No Moto, who was unceremoniously dumped by a 19-point margin to a Vannish school. After such a disappointing result the previous cycle, they were out for blood in NSCAA 8. They were ranked a lower 7th in the tournament, but still had a great draw that they could go far with. But instead, they got smacked by Turbani Tech of Valanora, who dumped them out of the first round with a 70-81 scoreline.

So you think ... surely they can't get upset in the bracket 3 NSCAAs in a row?! Of course they didn't! In NSCAA 9 they were actually the lower seed, at #39, so when they lost to the Cenian Academy of Science and Technology in the first round, it wasn't technically an upset! Haha ... ha. It'd be funnier if Drawkland as a whole wasn't destroyed in NSCAA 9.

With all these losses, you'd expect Cemmendy Tech to make a change. At least with NSCAA 10, they rebounded from their shoddy conference stage in NSCAA 9, instead winning the Newlands Conference both in the regular season and the conference tournament. They even netted the #6 seed for the Ultra 64. You've heard this story before. Cemmendy were massively favored, facing a nobody in Nostsian University ... and they won. What?! Finally, the glass ceiling is broken! Cemmendy are going to make a run this year guys! This is it! This is it! Now they- oh shit, they lost in the next round to the University of Concord Heights. LOL. Cyberpunks gonna Cyberpunk.

NSCAA 12 was the same soup, just reheated. Miraculous start in the Calania Conference, easily topping the conference table and winning the tournament with little issue. They were also one of the last schools to take a loss in the regular season. The Cyberpunks garnered a respectable #6 seed in the Ultra 64 ... and then they went and lost in the first round to Universidad de Hispinas. It would be funny if the consistent failure wasn't so sad. Actually, never mind. It's still hilarious.

In NSCAA 13 was finally a break from the norm. Cemmendy Tech overcame their demons, once again comfortably winning their conference and garnering a great seed. They even made it all the way to the Elite Eight ... where they were dumped out by 3 points to the eventual champions Loyola-Istria. NSCAA 14 was back to the dumps, as Cemmendy Tech was the only higher-seeded Drawkian school to lose in the first round. To be fair, the only other non-underdog Drawkian school in the first round was Old Mountain, so the margin for error was small.

NSCAA 15 saw the Cyberpunks finally return to great heights: a loss in the Elite Eight. Even with a 25-1 record in the Eternal Conference, falling a few points short of the conference tournament title, and being the #12 team in the entire tournament, they couldn't make it to the semifinals. Why does DISC keep bring them back? We assume somebody at Cemmendy Tech has dirt on them.

History: Revoda Sea College is one of the oldest tertiary institutions in Juvencus, founded in the 1200's, it has a long history of being the breeding ground of many philosophers, advocates, mathematicians and scientists from all over the nation. Sports and especially the basketball department have taken traction since at least the 1950's, where numerous campus-wide tournaments would take place and an all-star team would represent the college in city-wide competitions, with great success. Despite there not being a nation-wide competition, the basketball team of the Revoda Sea College is considered the best in the nation, namely because of the inclination of the Santmat population(which is big and everpresent in the city) to choose the sport.

Sporting-wise the focus of the university was shifted to basketball in the 1980's, with a rich history of talented players and professionals calling the University their alma mater. SG: Kuuper Copp, 3nD, Senior
SF: Jacob Shawkraft, Lockdown Defender, Senior
PF: Erik Noé Santini, 3-point Stretch Forward, Junior
C: Phillipe Ambrogio, Offense/Defensive Anchor, Freshman

Dynamic inside-out offense but defense is their calling card, with the front court killing attempts inside the arc.

Costa Alto Military Academy Jets +5

PG: Kevin Mercer, Dribbling Playmaker, Sophomore
SG: Jeanpierre LeRalph, Defensive Specialist, Senior
SF: Jonah Keys, Point Forward, Junior
PF: Jaxon Prince, Faceup Scorer, Senior
C: Ibrima Tungara, Athletic 2-Way, Junior

Overconfident, inefficient, highlight reel gambling action defines CAMA play.

LeBois Santura University Broncos -5
PG: Zeb Clinton, Scoring Playmaker, Junior
SG: César Salomo, 3-and-D, Junior
SF: Leroy McAllister, Defensive Specialist, Senior
PF: King Allypoor, Athletic Defender, Junior

High tempo passing, lots of scoring, defense is so they can rest for offense.

Niccostrato Naval Academy +5

PG: Miguel Valero, All-Around Scorer, Junior
SG: Camichael Jones, 3-point Specialist, Senior
SF: Ted Kulusevski, Jack of all Trades, Junior
PF: Arnold Samson, Athletic Rebounder, Senior

Clean the glass, protect the ball, create and convert close 2 point chances.

New Cardonia State Thunderhawks +3

SG: Antonio Riddick, 3-level Scorer, Senior
SF: Able Ramirez, Rebounding Defender, Senior

SG: Noah Coré, Slashing Scorer, Junior
SF: David Fratteli, 3-point Specialist, Junior

Unorthodox attacking scheme through Dragan Stoikchev results in easy buckets…if the play can develop.

Alexandria United Eagles +1

PG: Shylock Nishitani, Playmaking Scorer, Sophomore
SG: Deacon St. John, Slashing Playmaker, Senior
SF: Erik Guerra, Defensive Post scorer, Junior
PF: Chris Malone, Post Scorer, Senior
C: Buck Foster, Point Center, Junior

Strong 3 point shooting with gridiron player Deacon St. John slashing to the basket every play, good rebounding but inefficient defense.

Cascade Tradesmen College -5

PG: Ted Berhanu, Athletic Playmaker, Junior
SG: Artem Cáceras, 3-and-D, Junior
SF: Roberto Miano, Jack of All Trades, Sophomore
PF: Chris Hayes, 3-level Scorer, Senior

Grit ‘n Grind, physically tough play as they pound the rock to the basket while they leave bruises on defense, not a great team but not a fun one to play against.

Nova Calania

Uniwersytet Nowa Kalanianska Aztecs - UNK - Triceratops Conference
Université nationale de Saint-Jean-Jacques-sur-Mer Toucans - USJJ - North Coast Conference
Burnham State University Buccaneers - BSU - Big Seven Seven Conference
Shanzhou University Dragons - SU - Shango Conference

Note: College players in Nova Calania are usually from 18 to 23 years old. Players get drafted in the professional league at 18 but, like in hockey, they stay in college until they choose to make the jump to the NCBC (the domestic professional league). If they take part in any NCBC training camp, they lose their college eligibility even if their NCBC team cuts them.

PRINCE PIETER’S COLLEGE

The cultivating ground for New Rotterdam’s elite, Prince Pieter’s has been turning out slightly spoiled brats since 1621. From the banks of the Appel river in the posh suburb of Oesterstrand, Prince Pieter’s basketball has developed a refined, cohesive style of play that shuns physicality and emphasizes technique. Expect shots from behind the arc. Van Braam Court is made of White Birch hardwood, giving the floor a unique pale cream color.

Mascot: Minutemen
Location: Oesterstrand, New Rotterdam
Home Arena: Van Braam Court (Cap: 6,570)
Colours: Orange and White
Head Coach: Dierderik BAKKER

ST. PAULUS COLLEGE

Originally a parochial school for the burgeoning New Rotterdam middle class, St. Paulus College has seen its reputation grow as the profiles of its alumni do. Many of New Rotterdam’s wealthiest merchants trace their success back to their time as “Paulies”, and have donated handsomely to improve St. Paulus as a basketball school. Excpect a screen-heavy offensive philosophy that is deadly in the paint, but with a sluggish defense that becomes completely nonexistent around the perimeter.

Mascot: Ravens
Location: New Rotterdam Central, New Rotterdam
Home Arena: Geerlings-Krophoff Court (Cap: 9,100)
Colours: Black and White
Head Coach: Walter VAN HEUN

CENTER
[3] Hubert MUSKIE (c) ... SR ... 6'11" ... Big man; powerful; slow; trash-talker; impassable
[5] Jan-Jaap RHEZERKAMP ... SO ... 6'10" ... Defender; defensive rebounder; foul-prone

FORWARD
[13] Jan LEEFTINK (c) ... JR ... 6’5" ... Paint threat; screen-setter; captain; court vision
[6] David ZOGEN ... SO ... 6'7" ... Perimeter defender; bad shooter; fast; injury-prone
[7] Matthijs VAN OOIJEN ... FR ... 6’9" ... foul-drawer; handling; ball-hog; footwork
[10] Pieter HINSBEEK ... SO ... 6’6" ... Turnover-creator; game IQ; young talent; unpolished

GUARD
[7] Jos HAMBURG ... SR ... 6'2" ... Perimeter shooter; pass-creator; communicator; bad knees
[9] Lars SENKELDAM ... JR ... 6'7" ... Vertical playmaker; blocker; paint threat; tireless
[5] Filip VAN MAATS ... SO ... 5'10" ... Ball skills; small; always open; morale guy
[15] Egbert TIJHOFF ... FR ... 6'2" ... Temperamental; future star; quick; unblockable; unpolished
The Governor-General calls upon citizens of New Rotterdam to report any pro-British activity. Stay vigilant!
