Scorination will be done using the shiny-new NSFS3 and will be expected around 0:00 EDT. RP cutoff will be approximately 23:30 EDT. If these times change I will let everyone know in the appropriate threads. For my matches I will seek a third party (preferably someone not affiliated with the tournament) to grade the rp's of me and my opponent as well as scorinate the match.

For rankings, I will use nations KPB ranking points, however, a higher emphasis will be placed on RP's and their bonus.

Novikovské Národné Futbalové Mužstvo
(Novikovian National Football Team)

History: The Novikovian Football Association (Novikovský Futbalový Zväz or NFZ), was formed in early 2007 following the 2006 Act of Union, which joined the nation to the United Kingdom of Oceania. Established as a subsidiary of the larger Oceanian Football Association (OFA), the NFZ has none the less grown to become one of the largest and most vibrant football associations in Oceania, representing twelve professional and three academic leagues containing 188 separate clubs.

This vibrant association was born only recently, with the first professional Novikovian club, FC Oslany, founded in 1949. Early association football fell under the guise of the Academic Football Association (Akadémeký Futbalový Zväz or AFZ), established to oversee the growing number of collegiate clubs. Between the AFZ’s founding in 1956 and 1978 professional clubs remained an oddity in Novikov, and those few clubs which did exist were forced to play within the AFZ. In 1978, the National Football Association (Narodný Futbalový Zväz) was founded, finally placing private clubs in a separate association of their own. Also in 1978 the Czechzéný Futbalový Zväz (CFZ) was established in then-independent Czechzenia.

For the next three decades, these three associations dominated football within Novikov, hosting regional competitions between the three organizations but remaining separate from larger international governing bodies. After Novikov’s annexation of Czechzenia in 1997, the National Football Association was briefly merged with its Czechzen counterpart. However, the two associations separated a year later after a strike by many prominent Czechzen clubs. Thus the three associations remained separate and only known regionally until 2007, when a decision was made to merge the three associations into one centralized body, creating the modern NFZ. In 2010 the new NFZ chose to seek admittance to the WCC, formally creating the Novikovian National Football Team to represent the association in the WC51 Qualifying rounds. The team was unable to advance to the World Cup proper, but has already announced their intentions to participate in WC52, as well as the upcoming Cup of Harmony 43.

Managerial Staff
Manager: Tomasz Bel (51)
Bel served as the assistant manager for the Novikovian National Team during the opening seven games of World Cup 51. However, when former manager Herbert Autenberry was forced to resign mid-qualifiers, Bel stepped up to lead the team to a respectable 6-6-6 finish in the cup, gaining many aupporters across Novikov.

Assistant Manager: Adrianna Lodic (53)
Adrianna Lodic stepped in to replace Tomasz Bel as assistant manager following World Cup 51. She has over fifteen years experience managing the Univerzita Národná Women’s team before accepting a position on the Novikovian National Team.

Head Coach: Jozef Gabčík (69 years old)
Jozef Gabčík, a former midfielder with Plzen FCA, returns from a year of retirement to coach the Novikovian team as they make their first bid at the World Cup qualifiers. Gabčík spent twenty-two years coaching Univerzita Prostéjova, leading the team to five consecutive Academic League championships.

Goalkeeper Coach: Elek Sokolov (43)
Elek Sokolov, the former all-star goalkeeper for Bojari Duma, left his beloved Bojari late last year when he was offered a position a goalkeeping coach on the National Team. He has eleven years experience coaching in Duma.

Playing backup for Katarzyna Adamczyka, this collegiate goalkeeper for Univerzita Pold’iska is considered the best goalkeeper at university today.

#3 Katarzyna Adamczyka GK, 24 *
The only female starter on the Novikovian team, Adamczyka is the lightning-fast goalkeeper for FC Oslany. Her collegiate experience as a midfielder gives her valuable experience reading opposing formations and makes her a versatile addition to the team.

Defenders
#5 Miłosz Smolák CB/SW, 28 *
Team captain Smolák is considered the lynch-pin of Novikov’s defense, using his speed and agility to rapidly cover the backfield and assist other defensive players. He is an experienced defender with Grozny FC.

#8 Bazyli Sewick CB, 21
A starting defender with Nowá Morawa, Sweick is considered a solid, if somewhat boring, defender, only shining in the presence of more exceptional teammates. The tall Czechzen is perhaps one of the most questionable pick-ups on the team, but is a valuable replacement player on such a defensively-oriented team.

#9 Janko Doubek LB, 24 *
One of only a handful of Czechzen players on the team, hailing from Moryaci Znojmov, Doubek prides himself on his heritage and is determined to prove his worth to other players. He is an aggressive defender, often playing off the baseline and ranging forward into the midfield in support of the wingers.

#14 Jozef Polzin RB, 28*
Polzin is a strong defender, originally playing center-back with Loviz FC before being traded to Grozny FC. Because of his size and powerful left leg he was shifted to the full-back position. He is often called upon for free and penalty kicks.

#21 Livie Dvorak LB, 27
The lanky female defender from Univerzita Medicíná Oslaná is considered the best female defender in the NFZ. However, despite her many fans, by some she is considered to be too defensively-minded for a full-back and will not start this World Cup.

#23 Ľuboš Klímek CB, 25
The short defender from Imperialý Zvolen FC, Klímek is known for his footwork and ability to steal the ball. His aggressive style of play makes him the team leader for yellow cards.

Midfielders
#7 Lech Ctvrtlanik RW, 22*
The younger brother to Czech Ctvrtlanik, the famous Novikovian forward, Lech is a respectable player in his own right. He uses his powerful left leg and speed to move rapidly downfield and cut infield, making him an exemplary winger, not to mention leading scorer for Univerzita Žilina.

#11 Vaclav Jež DM, 31*
The oldest player on the team, Jež brings a great deal of experience to the midfield, having played professionally over twelve years with FC Gabor, Moryaci Znojmov, and most recently Bógród FC.

#15 Jindřich Kadlec DM, 25*
Kadlec is an aggressive-minded defender with FC Gabor, having been switched from a striker to the midfield when he joined the national team. He plays principally defense, but also can serve as a deep-lying playmaker, making the occasional sprint up field to attack the goal or support other players on offense.

#18 Žarko Stojanovic Zupan CM, 29*
The Serbian émigré, Zupan joined Vojáki Vrútkov in 2007 and has since risen to prominence in Novikov. He is a capable defender with excellent ball-handling skills, making him a valuable player on offense or defense.

#20 Roman Józwiak DM, 20
The youngest player on the team, Józwiak is an unlikely choice for the national team, given the number of other more experienced players available. The tall midfielder from Univerzita Trnava remains undaunted, however, and is expected to perform admirably in the upcoming World Cup.

#24 Stjepan Brasič LM 22*
Brasič is a powerful midfielder with Yuvrov FC. He has a powerful right leg and excellent instincts in reading the defense when passing downfield. Because of these powerful accurate passes, he has been nicknamed, "Pushka” by some fans. Following Michael Thomason's decision to leave the team in the wake of the Autenberry scandal, Brasič was transferred to the left side of the field, where he will serve as a starting left midfielder.

#25 Miroslav Volkov CM, 23
Playing for Bojari Duma, Volkov is a creative and intelligent midfielder, adept on offense or defense. His attacking instincts make him the foundation for the Bojari offense. However, on the national team, he plays a more defensive game, reading the opposing offense and moving to assist the midfield anchors in blunting opposing drives.

#29 Šimona Chmela DM, 21
Chmela is a stout midfielder with Univerzita Národná’s Women’s team. Despite having played only two years in the NFZ, she was chosen for the team because of her strong defensive instincts and ability to direct opponents towards the flanks where they can be hemmed in and contained.

#31 Emilian Constantinescu LM, 20
After the team lost Michael Thomason, manager Tomasz Bel chose young Constantinescu to replace the Azazian former-star. Constantinescu serves as a shadow striker with Nowá Morawa, with a dozen goals to his credit last season. Coach Gabčík chose to transfer him to the midfield, where he is expected to use his speed and offensive instincts to help give a defensive team more offensive power.

Forwards
#10 Valentín Markovic ST, 23
Markovic is a former soldier. He plays for Armia, where despite his age, his instincts and ability to read passes and score have made him team captain.

#13 Bertók Balázs ST, 24*
Commonly referred to as “Šťastný” or lucky, Balázs is a showboating striker with Moryaci Znojmov. He plays a furious, often violent game, barely trailing teammate Klímek in total yellowcards last season. His powerhouse kicks, however, make him an excellent scorer when supported by more skillful players such as fellow forward Ctvrtlanik.

#19 Joachim Jelen ST, 24
Jelen is the leading scorer on FC Nižná. He is a former winger, but was moved up to dedicated striker last year. Since the move, he has shown tremendous skill in the position, playing far back from the goal and cutting in from the baseline to pick up passes and score.

#27 Czech Ctvrtlanik SS, 29*
The older Ctyrtlanik brother, Czech, is perhaps the most wildly popular player in Novikovian football today. A graduate of and former player with Univerzita Národná, Czech demonstrates a tactical brilliance on field, playing deceptively off opposing defenders whilst using his speed to sweep in and threaten the goal or create openings in an opponents defense. He is the NFZ’s most recent MVP, and the leading scorer for FC Šarova.

Novikovské Národné Futbalové Mužstvo plays a modified 3-5-2 formation, generally with two defensive midfielders and an attacking midfielder, forming a midfield W. Coach Gabčík has been known to vary this formation, often playing three defensive midfielders to slow down teams with strong offense and keep the ball well into the midfield and away from the goal.

Cup of Peace Preview

VONGHURST - At the beginning of the most recent World Cup, it seemed like Virabi football was going downhill, and would not be around for much longer. No one thought Virabia would be hosting a tournament in the sport, no matter how minor. However, a few days ago that was all proven wrong as Virabia was announced to be the host of the Inaugural Cup of Peace after Vesicia (who had the other bid) dropped out of the running.

Intended to be a small tournament, the Cup of Peace intends to include smaller national sides. It gives them a rare chance to actually play in a cup that consists entirely of national squads that rank and play at a level similar to their own. However, that being said, the level of competition is expected to be fierce, and it's our job to break down the groups and see where each team will be going.

The Breakdown
Group A

Group A contains the hosts (and semi-favoured country) Virabia, 156th ranked Hell Horn as well as unranked sides Todd McCloud and Southern Yugoslavia. Most analysts are placing Virabia at the top of the group and then some are predicting a suprise second from Southern Yugoslavia. However, it's more likely that this group will go as dictated by KPB ranks, with Virabia taking the group and Hell Horn joining them in the Knockout rounds.

Group B
With three ranked teams (Andrewboy, Tretskivucia and Consumar), Group B looks to be an exiting group and it's possible that any of these teams could end up winning. However, the way it's looking now Consumar and Andrewboy will be the two most likely dukeing it out for first. However, Tretskivucia and even Vescia could get out of the group.

High Hopes from Bel as the Cup of Peace Nears

As the first-ever Cup of Peace nears, the Novikovian National Football Team prepares for a fierce competition. Novikov has been drawn into Group C, alongside the top-ranked team in the competition from Silver Beach. Many in Novikov were dismayed to hear this news, but Noviny Poldi'sku reporters spoke with new Team Manager Tomasz Bel, who didn't seem concerned in the least. "Our team has shown they can compete with the best. Sure we made some mistakes this past World Cup, but we also had good reason to be confident. We held the Holy Empire to no goals in our last match, not to mention the [Sarzonia] Stars during the pre-qualifying friendlies, and both those teams are as good as anything the Silver Beach or Consumar can field. We've beaten Virabia already, and most of our other opponents have no experience playing internationally. I fully expect to make it to the semi-finals, if not farther."

Other football enthusiasts across Novikov and around the globe, are predicting a strong showing from the Novikovian team. Even the Virabi sports periodical The Vonghurst Star has jumped on the bandwagon, predicting Novikov to advance as far as a semi-final's match against the Silver Beach. The infectious levels of enthusiasm felt around the country certianly bodes well for the team, and a reported 100.000 Novikovian citizens have already purchased tickets for the first three matches. What they will see on the field in Virabia, though, only time will tell.

The first Cup of Peace is fast approaching, and the Southern Yugoslavian Wolves, the national Soccer team, has high hopes for their first Cup. The Wolves were placed in Group A, including the teams of Hellhorn, Todd McCould and the host nation of Virabia. Many fans of the team were ecstatic to learn that the Wolves would be playing their rivals. According to a breakdown of the matches by Virabian sports critics, Southern Yugoslavia could come out at second place. The Cup of Peace will be shown on SYTV and SYS. Silver Beach is excited, as they are looking as the favorites, as an article from the Vonghurst star predicted Silver Beach winning the tournament and taking maximum points from its group. Silver Beach is excited, even though they only took 1 point from their last 3 matches in WCQ, but Jacob Jenkins is on a tear in the Premier League, playing for first place Blue Bay FC and leading all scorers with 16 goals in the competition. But, as we know, this is international play, so he will be taking a break, as Silver Beach is in the Cup of Harmony and the Cup of Peace. Novikov is really the only team in the group that Silver Beach would have to fear, as they have gone through WCQ. GO SILVER BEACH!!!

Another Cup, another chance to win the cake that the team deserves. WC51 was close, but the team failed to qualify and recieve the cake from the Coach. Hopefully, in this new tournament, There Will be Cake! The Team will fly over to Virabia tomorrow to start training for the first match against Cosumar, who are predicted to do well in this Cup. Then, the next day, we face our enemies from the WC51 qualifiers, Andrewboy. There are high hopes in Tretskivucia to defeat them. When we win this Cup, and only then, There Will Be Cake!

Cup of Peace Mascot unvieled, plus first stadium profile!

VONGHURST - The Cup of Peace draws near, and the games are already sold out, and earlier today, the CoP Hosting Commission (COPHC) had unvieled the mascot for the tournament. And with all the designs submitted from those in the respective nations who will be competing, the one that was chosen was the Charlie the Commons Crazy. Who Is Charlie, well Charlie is a Hippie who does way too many drugs, supports peace and is overall the kind of guy you don't want your kids around.


Charlie, being well himself... Smokin some weed and generally being... crazy

It was chosen because the Crazy is something native to Virabia, and the region of Rushmore as a whole, and he fact that it'd be a unique mascot for the cup.

What are Charlie's duties?

Well, Charlie will only be at the games in Estadio Norte del Vonghurst however, other crazies will be present at every game. Where they will go around the stands, looking for spare change (that will be donated to a charity), cheap booze, drugs being done in the bathroom and kids to scare. However, don't worry their bark is larger than their bite and they'd love to have their pictures taken with kids, or just while being their normal crazy self...

So who is the real Charlie?

The Real Charlie, is actually a mildly psychotic, drug addicted surgeon who is noted for successfully performing many difficult procedures. This has earned him much respect amongst the medical community and he is sought after by patients all around the world. However, when he's not in the OR he tends to go on the crazy side, and due to the amount of drugs he takes when he's off he usually winds up on the street, derange and claiming to be able to see the spirit world. Thus many think of him as being homeless. However, eventually he sobers up and finds his way back home... Still, that didn't stop his friends from submitting him to be the tournament's mascot. An "honour" he won due to the mere proposal making the entire COPHC laugh when it came across their desks.

When asked why people actually believe that he's homeless he always replies, "It's the beard. I mean look at it. Looks like what a homeless person would have."

Stadium Profile: Estadio Norte del Vonghurst
History

Opened in A.Y. -20 the stadium was originally called Trans Tropaia stadium. It originally played host to the North Vonghurst Hawks. However, that franchise didn't survive too long, folding in A.Y. -12. IT then went with out any long-term tenants until A.Y. 5. During this time the neighbourhood around it transformed from an English speaking one, to one which spoke spanish. This was reflected in a name change to Estadio Trans Tropaia. However, with the passage of the No More Naming Rights Act of A.Y. 6 (NMNRA) the stadium was once again forced to change it's name this time to Estadio Norte del Vonghurst.

In A.Y. 6 the stadium finally secured a tenant in the Vonghurst Capitols, provided that they renovate the stadium to be football only. This offer was later retracted as the Caps' decided that a stadium closer to the city centre would be more optimal for them. However, by then the stadium was in midst renovation. So instead of stopping, they made sure that CD Vonghurst (who were going to enter the SRPL as a expansion team next season) play in the stadium. This turned out to be for the better, as in their first season, a CD Vonghurst (which ended up being relegated) ended up having much higher attendance than the Caps. Often selling out a stadium, that was still larger than any other that a Virabi team used.

Location
It's located near the water, in the predominately Spanish speaking area of Vonghurst known as Esperanza by the locals. The neighbourhood is veyry different from other English-speaking neighbourhoods in Vonghurst. It's more built up, and crime is a little bit higher. Still, it's not all that bad. It has some of the best beaches, a nationally renowned jazz and art scene. The weekend flea market on Avenida Alta is known for featuring many fine arts and crafts as well as local fruits and vegetables. Another thing that puts this area on the map is the Gybur Brewery, which is a hold over from the English speaking days. The new inhabitants are fond of it just as those before them were. Why, because they make beer which is some of the best in the world.

* It's Architect Mark Windell, went on to design Alabaster Hall in WIT, the college, whose stadium the Nats' currently utilise.

* The stadiums nicknames is The Port (El Puerto), in a refrence to the fans. Who are called the armada. What this is a reference to, no-one knows.

VONGHURST - Amidst the buzz of the current atmosphere in the hosting city, Vekaiyuns are finding means to ensure their nation is represented with fervor common in Vekaiyun sports.

The notion of having a soccer team participate in an international event is only a minor footnote. Simply put, most Vekaiyuns are more interested in the nation's first ever participation in an inter-realm competition, which is sure to be a source of pride for the native vulpines, a race that has been relatively isolated in its history.

Vekaiyuns arriving in Virabia have had to overcome multiple obstacles, but the effects of these obstacles have been dulled. The very fact that few understand English in comparison with Unonian prompted the Vekaiyun Foreign Affairs Division, a government-funded, citizen-conscious organization, to donate enough Iguresi Earpieces for all travelers. Such devices allow for fluid translation between the two languages. Vekaiyun airports had previously equipped money exchange counters with appropriate currencies, keeping the Veskono internal to The East Pacific realm. Furthermore, many citizens were given at least partial funding by over three dozen Vekaiyun corporations to help cope with the relatively high flight prices.

Vekaiyuns arriving in Vonghurst have been encouraged to bring their style of soccer spectating to the inter-realm scene: be as loud as possible. Within The East Pacific, vulpine nations have gained a reputation of "drumming", that is, developing dozens of chants in Unonian that include hand clapping, foot stomping, and in some cases, actual drums themselves. Citizens, however, have been assured that the construction of the bleachers are sound enough to prevent destructive oscillatory forces from bringing sections down. The only break in cheering only seems to occur if the game falls in the midst of a daily prayer, as the Vayan Catholic faith encourages all followers to follow Salah-like mass prayers.

"We are one when we cheer our team on," a vulpine male waving the Vekaiyun flag said as he waited for his bags in the baggage claim. "We as a nation would not be where we are today without establishing ourselves as a unified front. This situation is no different. Expect us to be as loud as we can be!"

As for the Vekaiyun national team, the players spent the day practicing and enjoying the sights the fair city had to offer. Popular starter Vinsent Keperi videotaped most of their experiences as they explored and met Vekaiyun fans. "It is a great honor to be here," he said as he signed a collection of shirts. "I hope we are able to bring honor to our nation, Almighty willing."

The Vekaiyun Premiere, Selvala McEva, is still meeting in Allegheny and could not be reached for comment. Kral Commdore Ikrisia Levinile, however, offered these encouraging words to both the players and citizens of Vekaiyu in Virabia: "All Vekaiyuns support those who have taken the monumental task of representing our nation in this inter-regional event. Fate will determine whether we win or lose a match, but we, the Vekaiyun people, have already won in spirit. We are a people that remain undimmed by past hardships, and always progress forward, whether it is at home or abroad."
