World Baseball Organization 2024 International Cup

Welcome to the 2024 Edition of the WBO's 2024 International Cup! This 34th edition of the cup will be held in Kaskalma. Sixteen spots are available at max, but if they aren't filled within a week, then the tournament shall start with however many nations applied. Any nation on the Western Isles map may apply. The tournament will span from July-August, and culminate in the Isles Series.

Colors: Red & Light Blue

Baseball in Kravato has a rather recent history. Until the 1980s, baseball as a sport was unheard of in Kravato. However, in the early 1980s, the sport rose in popularity in the Atosudos islands of Kravato, which had seen historical under-representation in the nation's Likke and EPN, its two major sports leagues for football and American football respectively. Throughout the 80s, it rose in popularity in the region and leagues began in the 1990s. The LBN, Likke Baisbol Natsonal, was established in 1994 and became the primary league in the nation, but only saw limited participation outside of the Atosudos. The sport only grew outside of the region in the late 2000s, when WBO success saw national interest in the passtime. In the 2020s, the team's players and fans are still mostly Atosudan, but each year promises an opportunity for the sport to expand and grow in Kravato.

[Wangano]

Baseball was only recognised by the Wanganoan Government in 2012 and the sport is not popular in Wangano but the Wanganoan team did make one appearance in the past. That was five years ago in 2019 where they came dead last losing all of their games. Baseball is a sport for the privilege in Wangano but most Wanganoan’s prefer other sports like Association Football, Cricket, American Football, etc. As well as that there is not a big baseball tournament in Wangano and not a lot of baseball infrastructure with all the big stadiums in the country being designed for other sports and can’t be used for baseball. Anyway don’t expect Wangano to go very far in this tournament.

[Kaskalma]

Colors: White and orange (away) or blue and black (home)

Baseball has been popular in the english-speaking state of Whitecliff since the early 20th century when it was popularized by American immigrants. The Royal Baseball League (KBL) was founded by the King in 1921 and has been a favorite sport of the royal house since. In 1925 the Kaskalman National Baseball Team was formed from the Kaarst Mariners before being moved to Jorgenstadt in the 40s, becoming known as the Kings. The Kings have participated in every WBO tournament since its inception and is mainly made up of Kaskalman-Danes and Anglo-Kaskalmans.

[Lesva]

Baseball is not among the most popular sports in Lesva, with that honor going to cricket, soccer/football. However, wishing to represent itself and participate in every sport, Lesva does have its' baseball teams.

[Baumes]

Team Name (& possibly nickname): Baumish National Baseball Team
Colors: Blue (my flag) and white
Offensive Skill (1-9): 2

Baseball is an unknown sport in Baumes, with its team ranking among the lowest in the cup. Its team is mainly composed of non-mauricans and immigrants and most of its players are volunteers or part-time players, with other jobs and their own lives.

[The United Partitions]

Colors: Orange and black

Baseball is not a sport of the highest popularity in Salimanasia. It’s existed in the country since around the 1970s, but peaked around its introduction and has been in decline ever since. The United Partitions used to have a national league of its own, but due to decline of popularity it disbanded in 2003. Despite this, they remain in the WBO. The uniform of the national team is orange with black vertical stripes.

Baseball is a relatively uncommon sport compared to other sports such as football, which is the country’s most popular sport. However, baseball’s popularity has been growing steadily over the years. The Dodgers were founded in 1980 to consist of the best baseball players across the country in order to compete in international competitions.

[Yursea]

Team Name (& possibly nickname): National Yursean Baseball Team (Kingsport Cavaliers)
Colors: Orange and White

While not being the most popular sport inside of Yursea, it is still watched by millions and the Yursean Baseball Team is reflective of this fact. With an avid fanbase that makes up for the fact it's smaller than most sports inside of Yursea. Yursea's most watched sport would be professional archery, with Marie Brooks coming in first in the National Tournament last year, over 16 million watched it live compared to the 4 million who watched the Kingsport Cavaliers compete last year.

Baseball isn't a popular sport in Thythe, subverted by the likes of Rugby or even sailing.
