OOC Details and RP Information

Please use an RP permissions box in your roster. One is provided below.

Code: Select all
My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Godmod scoring events: Yes/No
RP injuries to my players: Yes/No
Godmod injuries to my players: Yes/No
Hand out penalties to my players: Yes/No
Eject my players: Yes/No
Godmod other events: Yes/No

This is not an exhaustive list. I will not be enforcing any setting of "Choose my scorers = N" unless there is a valid IC reason, clearly indicated in the roster, for doing so. Please also indicate a style modifier, between -5 (defensive) and +5 (aggressive) clearly in your roster. If I cannot find one within a roster and receive no response to any clarifications I may send, I will presume you are using a 0 modifier. Should you require help on other aspects of sports roleplaying, I recommend either giving the Guide to Sports Roleplaying a read-through, asking on the OOC thread, or on the NSS server.

As this is an under-18 tournament, please ensure all players are, or are below, the age of 18. All teams are given a rank of 0 to begin with. For this reason, roster bonus will be up to 3 times one MD's bonus. Check Graint and Kelssek's opening post on the WC94 RP thread for RP bonus guidelines. No plagiarism and no AI text generated stuff. At least be honest if you use them.

A VISITOR'S GUIDE TO TUMBRA

LOCATED in central Esportiva, the Federal Republic of Tumbra is a sprawling, modern democratic republic of a hundred and twenty-one million people. Comprising twenty-five states, twelve stadiums have been allocated to the hosting of the World Cup. A full map of the country can be found here.

Airports, Getting To and Travelling Within Tumbra

Tumbra is a country of many climates; cold in the north, temperate in the middle and warm in the south. The sparkling, white-sanded beaches of the south and eastern coast, the mountains of the west and the boundless plains of central Tumbra also offer dazzling tourist spots if you wish to just relax. There's also the more metropolitan cities, chock-full of culture and nightlife for the less nature-inclined amongst visitors.

Getting to Tumbra would usually entail taking a plane from an airport; Tumbra has twelve international airports, the locations of which can be found in the above factbook. To get to destinations not provided by airport, high-speed rail that travels up to about 320km/h offers transport to all eleven cities hosting a match, ensuring comfort, speed and reliability to get your players to their matches on time. Within cities, most cities have at least some form of mass rapid transit or light rail that forms the basis of their transport system.

Should you still wish to travel by car, Tumbra uses left-hand drive, and verifiable international licenses are a prerequisite to hire a car. Expressways to each of the major cities do exist, though...trains also exist...and are faster...

IF your nation comes from Esportiva, Tumbra can be reached within four to six hours' flight; if it comes from the regions of Anaia, Atlantian Oceania, Rushmore or Melayu Archipelago, then Tumbra can be reached from anywhere from six to twelve hours' flight; and for countries from outside the five sporting regions, then flights to Tumbra will take twelve hours or more.

All visitors with a valid ticket will be given a visa; for those attending multiple matches, the visa will be extended accordingly. Tickets will be apportioned fairly; 40% to each team, and 10% will be sold to Tumbrans, with the remaining 10% to others. Ticket scalping is, of course, illegal; should one come across such an act of ticket scalping, then call 999 (the number for the Police in Tumbra).

Culture and Laws
The policing in each state is run by the state governments, though they are all run to a unified federal code, which standardises most equipment and techniques. Federal laws will apply here; some of the more important ones are...

 • The age to buy alcohol and tobacco is set at 18 years.
 • The age of consent is 18 years. Prostitution is legal.
 • The status of marijuana, surprisingly for Tumbra, is vague and depends on the state. In general, the further east you go, the more likely it is that marijuana usage is legal. The usage of medical marijuana, however, is legalised throughout all states.
 • The importation of alcohol and tobacco is illegal without declaration; and there are strict limits on the amount. Importation of marijuana is illegal; the same goes for other hard drugs.
 • There is a blanket ban on assault weapons in Tumbra, and no importation is allowed.

The currency of Tumbra is the Tumbran Dollar, with the exchange rate being set at 1 NSD to 1.33 TMD. There is a ten per cent consumption tax on all items; usually it is factored into the price of the item.

Should there be any other questions, please contact VisitTumbra.com.

CITIES AND STADIUMS: IN DEPTH
(Starts with Straton, then goes clockwise in order of the map)

STRATON
The country's capital, Straton sometimes gets an unfair reputation for being overly gray. It's understandable, of course — most federal government buildings are distinguishable by the exact same material used to clad their walls, a sort of gray slate that's given members of the civil service a somewhat dour nickname of "The Grey Men." Regardless, there is fun here if it's looked for; the northern part of the city, which is home to the country's biggest and most prestigious post-1864 university is known for being the main place where fun happens; and, well, failing that, there's always the country's largest observation wheel, standing tall at 169m and pretty much defining the city's skyline. Most institutions of national importance are housed here; including the National Air and Space Museum, co-located with the National Science Museum, the Natural History Museum, National Arts Gallery, and so on. All three branches of government are housed here, too; as well as most monuments to the country's founding fathers, and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, commemorating lives lost during the Civil War.

The Eagles' Club (88,000)
The shiny new toy of the Tumbran national team, the Eagles' Club was completed somehow ahead of schedule and below cost, in a miracle to both the taxpayer and authorities. Set in a district of its own, surrounded by a lush park, museum dedicated to Tumbran football history and with train links directly into the heart of the city and to the airport that serves the giant conurbation that is Straton-Serrapince, the Eagles' Club is the most modern stadium of its kind. Clad in a white, colour-changing exterior, the stadium is fully sheltered, has a giant arch over its top and has almost every comfort you would want for a stadium-going experience.

SERRAPINCE
Home to the city's financial industry — which directly means that the city is also known for its debauchery and nightlife (what do you expect when you have a heavy concentration of people in the financial sector in close proximity to each other?), Serrapince is Tumbra's second largest city, but one that's still diverse enough to essentially be an everycity. Of particular interest to tourists would probably be the spiky building known as the Modern Hedgehog, but really is the Serrapince Museum of Modern Art, which serves as the country's largest collection of art produced post-1950. Or, as some more traditional critics would call it, "art". Apart from that, the country's largest Yoshiman Garden is located here, as well as Exhibition House, a giant glass building that was built in 1882 for the country's turn at hosting the Universal Exposition.

Serrapince Park (74,500)
The distinctive yellow pylons provide this stadium with its exterior. Completed in the 1970s as the capstone of Serrapince's project to monopolise the football market in the area, it now provides one of the most intimidating atmospheres in Tumbran football, with the northern stand being home to Serrapince's "ultras". Located in a giant athletics and sporting complex, Serrapince Park forms the main part of the sporting district of the city; and remains the focal point of the club's attempts to dominate the Tumbran football scene.

MARRAY
Tumbra's top party city, Marray is home to the finest beaches in Tumbra; unusually for the northeast of the country, it's also known for its sun, sand and sparkling-clear waters. Marray is where Tumbra's main cruise terminal is; and the city is renowned for its bustling nightlife. Come for the sand dunes; stay for the football. What happens in Marray, stays in Marray, some say; and while casinos may still be illegal here, the city's not known as the country's entertainment capital for nothing. Theme parks, film studios...it's all glamour here.

Oceanside Stadium (44,000)
Opened in 2013 as an example of a modern stadium, Oceanside certainly remains as one of the best-equipped stadiums in Tumbran football. A modern glass-and-steel, blue-and-white facade pays tribute to the many players who have passed through and worn the colours of Port Marray. While it's a little way out of the city boundaries — and certainly very far from Marray's old stadium in the middle of the city — the transport links to the stadium ensure that trips to Marray's home ground are smooth, both in and out.

HESHAM
Despite its size and proximity to Lakewood, Hesham is seen as a relatively laid-back city, more than content to let time pass it by. This is where Clearmont's agricultural industry — carried mostly by wheat — sends its cargo for it to be exported to the world. It's lost a bit of its cultural identity as time's gone on and Lakewood has begun to slowly subsume the city into the amorphous blob that is Greater Lakewood, but locals will never let anyone forget that modern Tumbran football was born here; after all, the meeting between club executives that formed the first-ever league competition was held here. Perhaps unsurprisingly with all that wheat passing through the city, it's got a high amount of breweries; and also the highest number of pubs per capita in Tumbra.

George Bowen Stadium (40,000)
Named after Hesham FC's longest-serving manager who delivered the club its only title and later saved the club from bankruptcy, the Ploughmen's arena with its distinctive bright green seats is a more rectangular effort than most. Distinctive for its bright green pylons that run along the outside of the stadium, it's a bit denser than most stadiums - only having one tier throughout it.

LAKEWOOD
The powerhouse of the South East, Lakewood made its fortunes during the Industrial Revolution (which arrived late on this country's shores — thanks, empire!) due to the burgeoning textile industry that was essentially spawned large waves of migration to the city. It helped that Lakewood was one of the few ports where immigrants to the country were able to be processed, alongside Nantwich and Couno; meaning that the city, more than others, has become more of a cultural melting pot than others. It's grown so large in recent years that the city's suburbs have essentially spilled over into Hesham; the two form what is essentially a giant urban conurbation. Helps that the same international airport serves both cities.

Lakewood City Arena (58,000)
Home to Lakewood United's rivals Lakewood City, the LCA was a more modern construction; only being completed in 2005. It, therefore, looks nicer than Trenton Park; but the diatribes launched against it say that it's a soulless atmosphere. Supports of City point to their attendance records and recent success. It is equipped with all the comforts of a modern stadium, really; and it's located closer to Lakewood's city centre than Trenton Park.

Trenton Park (74,500)
Trenton Park is home to Lakewood United, historically the most successful team in Tumbra. A massive, sprawling colosseum, its differently shaped ends do make it look a bit dated, but gives it a lot of its charm — it began life over a hundred years ago, and was added to, piece by piece. Fans label this stadium "The House That Stephenson Built," referring to the longest-serving manager of Lakewood United, Ben Stephenson. The acoustics here are also excellent, adding to the atmosphere here.

NEWTON
That Tumbra has a long history in maritime trade is unsurprising; nearly all of its major cities of note are located on the coast. Newton is no different; but adds a different spin on the matter. Back in its heyday, Newton was the capital of Tumbran piracy and a city where even the most strict imperial rule couldn't get bring it down (until unification, of course — but that's a different matter). The entirety of the city centre could be a historical monument in itself; and that's not forgetting the fact that Newton is a canal city, where you're just as likely to catch a bus as a ferry over the waters to your next destination.

Novena Park (32,000)
Located in a natural bowl in the suburbs which originally gave it a capacity of over 86,000 before those pesky things called "regulations" got in the way, Novena Park looks dated; but it still regularly pulls in crowds and is always one of the most filled stadiums in the country, no matter which tier the Newton Wanderers are playing in. While not as large, or as flashy, as Columbia's Columbus Field, Newton's transport infrastructure and ability to host more people than the admittedly smaller town of Columbia means that Newton has been given the green light to host international-standard matches. Whether or not this means that the capacity of the stadium will be increased to 40,000 is still in the air; but the stadium could really use a fresh coat of paint to liven it up a little.

KINGSBURY
The old imperial capital, Kingsbury's Historic Quarter is worth a whole afternoon on its own. The last castle of the Terenbergs (the old imperial family) was located here; nowadays it's a walkthrough museum, which takes a surprisingly neutral tone on the whole royalty thing. One of the wings of the castle has been converted into a public library, which probably shows the amount of attention the royals receive these days. Apart from that, there's the Kingsbury Cathedral, which is the seat of Emberican Christianity and the Archbishop of Kingsbury; though it's probably telling of religion's place in public life that nobody gives a toss about them either.

Fletcher Park (45,000)
In a city full of history, the somewhat more modern-looking Fletcher Park stands out in the country. Located somewhat near the heart of the city, the stadium was recently expanded to fit 45,000 people. That was the latest in the long line of rebuilds, going from a bowl-shaped stadium in a natural valley to a much smaller, almost entirely white stadium with a heavily curving roof due to the high walls of stands; instantly giving the stadium a recognisable facade.

BENCOOLEN
The most colourful (and gayest) of Tumbra's cities, Bencoolen is possibly the most liberal place in the country. Many social movements that eventually grew to become nationwide movements began here; women's liberation in the 60s and gay rights in the 80s can all trace their origins to this city. Most well known for the litany of low-rise, pastel-coloured houses that dot the seafront, as well as the tight, windy high-rise apartment buildings that are so close together it doesn't really feel like a Tumbran city, Bencoolen is different from the rest of the country, and likes to make it known. Try sailing, or watersports; the surfing culture is strong here, and the sport of yachting is mostly concentrated here as well.

Bencoolen City Stadium (55,000)
The smallest of all of Tumbra's twenty-five states, Bencoolen's stadium also includes an athletics track; which, unfortunately, puts distance between the supporters and the players on the pitch. There have, however, been plans mooted to install temporary seating for football matches; though with Tumbra's multiversal sporting ambitions, this may come later, rather than sooner, and if at all. Thankfully, aiding its ambitions, it does have a movable roof; a rarity in Tumbran stadiums.

FONTWELL
The biggest city in the West, Fontwell's an underrated gem of a city; and it's also probably one of the best places in Tumbra to learn about a side of the country's history that sometimes flies under the radar — the Western Republic. The Museum of Western History is located here, and it's chock-full of almost everything the uninitiated would need to know about the unrecognised republic, which fought a guerilla war against the Empire of Tumbra in its waning days, and contributed heavily to the latter's losses in the brutal civil war. Apart from that, why not try looking at the automobile industry? Cheap foreign imports have shrunk the domestic market somewhat these days, but the legacy is still there — Carlton Motors still chugs out variations of the Carlton Cross, the original Tumbran car, and they've got a fantastic museum as well.

Stokers' Park (52,000)
Perhaps one of the most unique Tumbran stadiums, Stokers' Park — officially the WesternOil Power Station, but adopting this as its original name for sponsorship purposes — is built from the remains of a converted factory. It provides one of the most unique stadium-going experiences because of this; Stokers' Park is often referred to as the "smokehouse of Western football". With an exterior of red brick, large glass windows which now hold murals to the Fontwell Rovers, and with chimneys that puff out smoke on matchdays, Stokers' Park presents a uniquely industrial view on Tumbran football and where most of its clubs originated. It does get a little hot on the inside, however.

MILLSBURGH
One of Tumbra's 'forgotten cities', Millsburgh was the home of the now-flagging Tumbran steel industry; it now potters on, though the chemicals industry still goes strong in the north. It's probably the least tourist-friendly city out of the eleven host cities — no dedicated airport, nothing really exciting to do on the surface — but there is the National Museum of Steel here. And bridges. Lots of bridges. The city can get fairly cold, but one thing the city does excel in is the sheer amount of flora in its borders; it's shed most of its dreary reputation gained in the previous century, and the streets are lined with trees and grass. In autumn, it's really pretty. In summer, they do provide a good amount of shade from the sun.

Two Rivers Stadium (42,000)
The Two Rivers Stadium is a fantastic multi-purpose stadium located in the heart of the city. Appropriately situated at the fork of two rivers that defines Millsburgh, the stadium is a circular, concrete affair with entry ramps that hug its exterior. It may look dated — certainly a fresh coat of paint on the bare concrete wouldn't go amiss — but the acoustics inside provide a ear-rumbling affair for those lucky enough to visit.

RIDGEWELL
A northern powerhouse, Ridgewell used to be the gateway to the world for Tumbran coal and steel; but with manufacturing fleeing to less expensive countries, and the coal mines closing thanks to The Eighties (and a focus on renewables this century), it's struggled to redefine itself. It's still the largest city in the North, though, and an effort to pivot the city towards tech and research has given it a new lease of life. For tourists, the main attraction in this area is the historic Wyndham Castle, located on the outskirts of the city; it's been stunningly well preserved, and historical demonstrations of medieval life occur every Saturday. Helps that a flea market sets up shop every weekend there too.

Kensington Stadium (46,000)
Built in the 1990s to great fanfare, the Kensington Stadium is a more utilitarian affair than most; simple, steel columns line the stadium's exterior, and a flat, rectangular roof covers spectators. Everything about this stadium seems to be rectangular; the roof, the exterior columns; even the four taller steel spires that provide support for the roofs at each end seem to be extremely rectangular. This makes seating extremely tight, however; and adds a lot to the atmosphere of matches.

NANTWICH
A naval city through and through, Nantwich essentially made its name from two things: shipbuilding and having a naval base on its outskirts. Both industries, perhaps miraculously, survive to the present day; and Nantwich has always had a more gritty, subdued vibe to it. That hasn't stopped it from becoming one of Tumbra's largest cities in the midwest; and it helps that the food here's cheap, as well. For attractions: Deep-dish "Nantwich-style pizza" may seem like a cultural travesty to anyone from outside the state (to say nothing of the Grande Cucinans, who steadfastly refuse to refer to it as "pizza" and prefer the term "pie"), but it's a refreshing take on the ever-popular dish, invented, ironically, by someone from Grande Cucina who couldn't find a proper pizza pan when he first arrived in the city.

Nantwich Stadium (64,000)
Widely renowned for the four helical ramps around each side of the edifice and imposing roof structure with black girders jutting out on each end, the Nantwich Stadium is home to FC Inter Nantwich; and is an imposing home to one of the league's strongest teams. With its four sides rising high above the players, the stands can almost feel like they're closing in on the players. An imposing mental challenge, indeed.

CLARK
A city known for its culture — cathedrals, clothes, theatres, and museums — Clark is known for being much more highbrow than its neighbour Nantwich, and those who can't stand the working-class vibe of Nantwich will enjoy Clark. Beware, though, of the exorbitant prices nearly everywhere; from restaurants to shopping malls (pay a visit to the Clark City Gallery, the country's oldest shopping mall), everything meant for the upper classes will make you pay through the nose for it. It's also home to one of the country's oldest universities; making the city also a place of revered learning.

Clark City Arena (63,000)
Known for its faux-neoclassical columns adorning its outside surface, the Clark City Arena - referred to as the Colosseum, colloquially, is a unique experience for most visitors. With the pitch itself set below the stadium, the shadow of the stadium's main building makes games in this open-air arena cooler than it is, providing a better matchday experience for most people. It's perhaps the only stadium in the country to have its pitch beneath sea level.

COUNO
Couno is Tumbra's largest city — there's a little bit of something for everyone here. Go for a long walk along the majestic Promenade, complete with statue walks; or head up the hill on the opposite side of the skyline and stadium for a bit of nature. Don't miss the majestic Couno Harbour Bridge, though it's pretty difficult to do that; it's literally everywhere in the city's marketing. Seafood lovers should pay a visit to the Couno Fish Market, where the day's freshest catches are hauled in every morning for hungry tourists and shoppers alike. Further inland, there's Tumbra's biggest amusement park, Galaxy Studios (one of three in the country), complete with rides from your favourite entertainment franchises.

Couno Port Stadium (54,500)
The Couno Port Stadium is distinctive enough that it forms part of the Couno skyline by itself. Located on a wharf, the stadium itself was recently reconstructed in 2016, which expanded its capacity to the 54,500 it is today. Home to the Couno Rangers, with one of the most passionate supporter fanbases in Tumbra, the unique location on the harbourfront provides a unique opportunity for many a football fan. Watch out for the single-tier Red Wall located behind the west goal; that's where you'll see some of the most impressive fan displays in the country.

Wrenchwelt Stadium (42,000)
Wrenchwelt Stadium, located further inland and on the west side of the city, is rather older and run-down; but still has a wonderful atmosphere. Home to West Couno United, the long-suffering west-side local rivals of the more famous and by far more successful Rangers, the stadium might look a bit more run-down than its more modern and refurbished neighbour — especially with its southern stand being disconnected from the other three — but it's still packed with fans to the brim every time the Pilots go onto the field.

JIGONHSASEE
COUCHAIN - LETHBRIDGE-ANTONIO, C. - WILLOW - CRANKSHAW
WATFORD - LETHBRIDGE-ANTONIO, J. - CHANCE
PRENN
JEAN-BAPTISTE - BAÏE-VERTE

This U-18 squad features many that are still in the process of cutting their teeth on the pitch, but show promise. Jin Jingonhsasee is a Quebecois-Chromatik that's turned heads by appearing out of nowhere, with a good blend of height and instincts; the addition of Claudia Lethbridge-Antonio at the center of a defense alongside Raphael Willow will be a major boon, while Dean Crankshaw steps in at Left Back, excelling at sniping from range.

At the center of the field, the Young Anomalies are led by Maddie Prenn, alongside the newcomer, Jayla Lethbridge-Antonio. Prenn is a sniper who is willing to shoot from anywhere on the field, while Jayla is the more level-headed Lethbridge-Antonio perfect for the ball-winning mold. They'll have Edith Chance, a crossing merchant, on the left side, and Carlisle Watford, more of an all-around player, to the right.

Neither Kaytlyn Jean-Baptiste nor Harriet Baïe-Verte are Xuen-Zhukov; however, one runs well and the other converts chances well - and it's their third tournament being a tandem together up front.

SEMARLAND NATIONAL U18 FOOTBALL TEAM, OFFICIAL U18 WORLD CUP 20 SQUAD

ImageImageImage
Home - Goalkeeper - Away
Kits kindly manufactured by VUCTI Kits

STAFF:
Manager: Magnus Larsen-Jacobsen, 45
Assistant manager: Isaac Nordland, 37
Coaches: Mekhi Gunness, 37 (General)
Tyrone Pierre, 40 (Goalkeeping)
Johan Andersson, 46 (Fitness)
Physio: Dietrik Nevvik, 34
Scout: Jordan Bannington, 31
A selection of youth coaches who have impressed over the last few years, SFA President Kwame Nelson has hand picked this staffing team himself - who are notably the only staff group within the national team system not to have any individuals at all that represented Semarland internationally. Not that matters of course, these coaches have all proved to be pivotal in their respective prior clubs' youth development systems over recent seasons, and are obviously doing something right if Kwame Nelson himself is calling them up. Manager Magnus Larsen-Jacobsen worked with Cortell Carrasco at Sporting Saint Adrensburg so will likely mirror similar tactics to his old boss, and has already confirmed the same position to shirt number allocation as the senior team.

PLAYERS:
GOALKEEPERS:
#1 - GK - Hassan Yeboah - Age 17 - FC Nuholm
#12 - GK - Darren Mondelez - Age 16 - Jansberg Laguna
#13 - GK - Mahlakai Clark - Age 17 - FC York
Three talented shot-stoppers is always a nice selection dilemma to have, and Larsen-Jacobsen certainly has that on his hands. Yeboah and Clark both saw themselves moved up to their respective clubs' U20 sides early last season, effectively bypassing U18 football, whilst Jansberg Laguna had to fight very hard to keep bigger clubs at bay and were over the moon when Mondelez signed a scholarship with the club. It's likely each will be given a start each for the group stages, and should Semarland progress it'll be a fight between the three for the #1 spot. It's hard to measure long-term potential at such a young age, and it's hard to say whether they'll all make it to the national team, but it's certainly more than likely that all three will go on to enjoy succesful careers, whether that be in the Premarligaen or abroad.

DEFENDERS:
#2 - DR - Jaden Hamilton - Age 17 - Eikborg Club (vc)
#3 - DL - Marley Bonnick - Age 16 - FC Jansberg
#4 - DC - Marlon Bokadi-Brown - Age 17 - FC Jansberg (c)
#5 - DC - Batuhan Özcan - Age 17 - Sporting Saint Adrensburg
#18 - DC - Goitom Ermias - Age 17 - Molsbik Arkjet
#19 - DR - Kyrese Makengu - Age 16 - FC Jansberg
#21 - DL - Tesfay Tesfalem - Age 17 - Molsbik Arkjet
#22 - DC - Felix Kayembe - Age 17 - Krsthaven
A solid batch of defenders this year, with particular interest in the likely starting back four of Bonnick, Özcan, Bokadi-Brown and Hamilton. The quartet have all been involved in the pre-season plans of their respective clubs' first teams, with captain Bokadi-Brown in particular spotting a pathway opened up after Dontell Rockfield's move to Krytenia. Interest will be on Hamilton especially after Eikborg Club signed another talented right-back in Seongwei Milosevic, but Hamilton's competitive nature and willingness to improve will no doubt bode well for both players' long-term development. In reserve, Molsbik Arkjet's duo of Ermias and Tesfalem were offered professional deals midway through last season, Makengu was a key member of the Semarland U16 side that won the SHN U16 Invitational, whilst Kayembe of Krsthaven has proven his leadership skills more than once for the older age groups when required. All capable deputies no doubt, but will be hoping to prove they're starter material and not just a backup option.

MIDFIELDERS:
#6 - DMC - Jayden Monkswood - Age 16 - FC Jansberg
#7 - AMR - Andre Kiso - Age 16 - Molsbik Arkjet
#8 - MC - Akeem Hammond - Age 16 - FC Jansberg
#10 - AMC - Richard Likenza - Age 17 - FC Nuholm
#11 - AML - Angelo Addo - Age 17 - Molsbik Arkjet
#14 - MC - Nyrone Eastwood - Age 17 - Sporting Saint Adrensburg (tc)
#17 - DMC - Brandon Bailey-Martin - Age 16 - Kangemark Sport
#20 - AMC - Marlee Lokilo - Age 17 - Krsthaven
#23 - MC - Hakan Edgar - Age 17 - Sporting Solsholm
The most intriguing area of the squad, as always. FC Jansberg duo Monkswood and Hammond were again key members of the Semarland U16 that won the SHN U16 Invitational last year, as was Molsbik Arkjet's Kiso, who is also capable of playing as a striker if required. Club teammate Addo and FC Nuholm's Likenza are also equally versatile, both capable of playing on either flank or through the middle, but it's most likely Larsen-Jacobsen will set up with Addo and Kiso on the wings and Likenza as the #10. In reserve, there are no extra wingers just like the senior side in their last competitive runouts, but plenty of options in the middle of the park. Eastwood is the son of a certain SSA legend and national first-team coach, and Lokilo is a son of one of Krsthaven's best players never to be called up to the national team - he will be hoping to eclipse his father in that respect. Bailey-Martin has shown plenty of promise for Kangemark Sport and was another on the radar of the top clubs, whilst Edgar of Sporting Solsholm earns a callup despite being ruled out with a long-term injury last season.

FORWARDS:
#9 - ST - Malakai Yeboah - Age 16 - Eikborg Club
#15 - ST - Bakasso Kilioglu - Age 17 - Molsbik Arkjet
#16 - ST - Blake Mars - Age 17 - Jansberg Laguna
Three very different strikers in terms of playing style, but all certainly know where the net is, judging by their goal tallies last season. Yeboah (whose older brother represented Semarland in the Di Bradini Cup and broke into Eikborg Club's first team) was given an early promotion to the U18s last campaign and took to it like a duck to water, helping them secure the league title and qualify for the Rising Stars Cup. Kilioglu of Molsbik Arkjet boasts the ability to play a bit deeper and can link attacking midfield to the strike force with such ease and confidence he could may well develop into a second striker or an "advanced attacking midfielder", if that position even exists yet. Mars, the tallest of the trio, isn't your classic target man - he's just as good with his feet as he is in the air, and Jansberg Laguna will be hoping to tie him down to a professional deal before his scholarship runs out - and with their relegation last season, a first team debut looks closer than ever.

STANDBY:
#30 - GK - Peder Dejour - Age 16 - FC Jansberg
#24 - DC - Anders Bonberg - Age 16 - FC Kolberg
#25 - MC - Charm Mbola - Age 17 - FC York
#26 - ST - Berhane Teklemichael - Age 16 - Molsbik Arkjet
Four players have been named on standby in case of any serious injury during the group stages. The four will be present for training sessions and will remain with the squad throughout the duration of the tournament. Dejour was signed by FC Jansberg after impressing at lower league side Molsbik Kadet, and he and defender Bonberg were also part of the U16 national side that won the SHN Invitational. Mbola is a technically skilled midfielder with a delightful passing range who was very unlucky to make the final squad, especially given Edgar's unluckiness with injuries last season. Teklemichael is another in the long line of talented Arkjet strikers, who had a fearsomely high goal tally last season.

Three Months Ago
Chromatik Football Federation Headquarters
Chromia, Capital District, Chromatika

"Who did you send, again?"

Being the Social Media Coordinator for the Chromatik National Team kept Shelby Arling busy. She wasn't just the Social Media Coordinator, but also the one that was at the center of communication between all facets of Chromatik Football. She worked with Lev Repin, she worked with Claude Pare-Achel, and she worked with Han Myung. On top of all that, she was the key correspondent between the Chromatik Football Federation and the Head of Scouting, one March Ellinger.

A forty-three year old who was a thirteen year veteran of the Red League, Ellinger's appointment as the Head Scout had been met with much fanfare. Chromatika now had over a hundred scouts all over the multiverse, including not just the mainstays in Quebec and Shingoryeo, Tumbra, Nephara, Mytanija, Banija, Farfadillis, and the Squornshelan Remnant States but also in upcoming nations like Cap Nord, Sylestone, and Tikariot. There was even talk about getting a scout into Polar Islandstates, if the political landscape allowed it.

Sitting in Arling's office in a crisp blue tux and tie, the family man and father of three smiled one of his signature smiles as he answered the Chromatik Social Media Coordinator's Question with confidence, "Justinia."

"Justinia Albington?" Arling asked again, incredulous. Jistinia Albington was the most tenured scout Chromatika had in Nephara, having the knowledge of every Chromatik in Nephara like the back of her hand, including the long history of Chromatika's time in the storied league. Albington had been there from the very beginning, when Gabriella Antonio was at Coret and Keira Andisori had been in Starling, through now. It was this connection that March Ellinger was apparently counting upon.

"If there is anyone that can talk their way through this situation, it's good old Justinia," continued Ellinger in his cool tone, "Even Gabriella won't be able to stop her, especially if what you're telling me is true."

"There is no denying the promise that the twins have showed at Coret," Arling answered, "and with Cosumar's absence from the international scene continuing to grow, we are the only chance of them getting national team representation. Throw in the fact that they just turned seventeen recently, and even the toughest Mom who wants to protect her children will have to yield to the cruel mistress that is time."

"You're preaching to the choir,' March chimed in, "In fact, I have it on good authority that Justinia landed in Coret yesterday. Chances are she's already talked to the Lethbridge-Antonios. I'm expecting a good report any hour."

As if promised, March's phone beeped, and he excused himself to check it.

When he looked back up at Shelby Arling, he had the most sheepish grin on his face.

"There it is. Claudia and Jayla Lethbridge-Antonio have agreed to play for Chromatika in the next U-18 World Cup. We've got the twins in the system now, and the rest will be up to them and the Managers," he explained.

Arling raised a fist in triumph.

"I'll let Han know," she stated, getting out of her chair, "He will be ecstatic. Then, he'll have to explain things to Oskar..."

With the knowledge that the most hyped twins in Chromatik history had finally declared for their country, Shelby Arling and March Ellinger went back to work to continue to run the well-oiled machine of Chromatik football.

Goalkeepers are a weak spot and selected with emphasis on build-up play.

This Under-18 national team, led by an eternal optimist and yo-yo zone survivor Jang Seong-Woo, is considered to be an unusual squad. It is weaker on the traditional positions the Grim Reapers have made name for - goalkeepers, leftback, attacking midfielder and striker positions remain a question here - but have notable strong areas in volantes and rightbacks, two parts Team Quebec will likely need to start thinking into the future. Garth Setford leads the way in a questionable goalkeeping spot - a light-footed sweeper keeper has range and build-up abilities, but can improve on making saves where possible.

On the backfield they are centred by a powerful duo of Serguei Sapozhkov and Vicente Luan Camacho. Camacho is considered a pacy, spirited fighter of the duo while Sapozhkov's a tall, efficient behemoth often considered by many to be a younger Bosko Pestotnik, bringing us to lack of surprise where Camacho and Sapozhkov are both open for future opportunities representing Farfadillis and Mytanija. Rightback also sees an intriguing dual-national prospect with the team's youngest player, Drake Lokombo-Ssekitoleko, as their fast, technical crack option to add buzz into the saw that is the Reapers' defence, no matter how leaky they can get due to their aggressiveness.

The midfield is also where to look for, especially as it's considered to be the point of strengths. In a rather unprecedented decision for the Grim Reapers, Jang has decided to utilise a double-volante system with the Faroleran-Songakian duo thanks to Ramon Solari's efficient footwork matching that of Juan Aurelio Redondo's vision. Solari and Redondo, who have both grown up in Songak's Veronaville district, have most notably been known for starting against each other in the Coupe de la Reine final with Redondo's Koreana emerging victorious over Solari's Perce after his cup-winning goal after 120 minutes of play. With Solari likely to declare for Farfadillis at senior international level after the conclusion of the U18WC, the anticipation grows as the duo's first and last international tournament playing together.

Also completing the triangle is an advanced playmaker in Maude Le Tissier, who is considered to be the focal point of Wansan Sparta's offence as they not only bid, but VOW to return to the Q-League for the first time in twenty years, and the enganche's one to watch with her passes. But more is to be seen if the team's five forwards, headed by a speedy crossing artist in Arianne Noh and a powerful shooter in Claude Hwang will make it work. It's definitely not the forward corps the Reapers have seen over the years, don't get me wrong, but with a stronger midfield and Jang not requiring as much from his forwards as his predecessors had done so, maybe less pressure will pay off after all.

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Choose my goalscorers: Yes/No
Godmod scoring events: Yes/No
RP injuries to my players: Yes/No
Godmod injuries to my players: Yes/No (Do ask first)

KRYTENIA 2312 UNDER-18 WORLD CUP SQUAD
Modifier: +4

Image
Beginning their football journey way back in the second Baptism of Fire competition, Krytenia are one of the oldest national teams still competing in international football. With five World Cups hosted, as well as a smattering of AOCAFs, Cups of Harmony, Baptism of Fires, and even a CAFA Cup, they also have a deserved reputation for organising top-level football competitions. What they don't have, though, is a reputation for winning. They are yet to win a World Cup; in fact, they have only reached one final, losing to Aguazul in World Cup 58. Five semi-final defeats are what set the tone for the Dragons – indeed, losing in the semis of a major competition is known as the “Krytenian Curse”. That said, there is silverware in their cabinet. Having created the AOCAF Cup, Krytenia eventually won the fifty-second iteration of the competition; more recently, they won Cup of Harmony 78 and nearly added a second two cycles later, losing to fellow co-hosts Græntfjell on home soil. A third major trophy took a while to come, but with victory in the sixth CAFA Cup the Krytenian team joined the small band of nations who have won two different regional competitions.

They may have a reputation as the multiverse's nearly men, but never let yourself be deluded that the Krytenians are defeatist. Even though they may come up short, it's a very rare thing to see a Dragons team simply give up. Be aware that when the sky blue shirts are on the field, you will be in for a tough game, and victory will always be hard-earned.

Manager – Tommy WARREN, Age 31
A persistent knee injury may have curtailed Warren's career before it even started, but it hasn't dulled his enthusiasm for the game. BXE saw his work with Bradwell Saints' academy team and suggested the young coach to the KFA. Taking a leaf from his Qusmi mentor's book, Warren made his mark at the last Under-18 World Cup, guiding the teenagers to a fourth-place finish. Fresh from that experience, Warren has been learning at the feet of BXE, following Graham Lawton's illness and forced retirement. Likely to be the long-term replacement when the current gaffer hangs up their clipboard; in the meantime, he's back with the U18s before joining back up with BXE for the CAFA Cup.

“System Erv”, named for the senior team, is on the face of it a 4-2-3-1. With the Krytenians on the ball, however, expect this to change quickly to a 4-2-4 as the second line pushes up to support the striker. The two holding midfielders will be the fulcrum of the attack; expect the ball to move quickly between light blue shirts, especially on the counter. Press, pace, and overloading and overwhelming opposition defences will be the order of the day.

Off the ball, Krytenia will play a high line; they may be vulnerable to balls over the top – if opposition attackers can time their runs to avoid the offside and beat the Dragons' defenders for pace.

Commonwealth of Baker Park Under 18 National Team

5th & 9th Under-18 World Champions

Image

Baker Park's Modern Era in soccer can be definitively said to have began not in Valanora at the 42nd DiBradini Cup, nor at the 67th Baptism of Fire in Banija & Qasden, but in Abanhfleft at the 5th Under-18 World Championships.

It was at that tournament that the FAC sent its representative squad that included for the first time both young men and women, playing next to one another in the same starting XI, training side by side daily, competing against the best youth teams in the multiverse together.

Winning that tournament was an added bonus to what was a bold experiment for the governing body, as nothing like it had been tested outside of the composition of local recreational leagues for 5-8 year-olds where, especially at the youngest age level, co-ed teams were the norm. Even before the final whistle sounded in the title match, the experiment had been declared a unquestioned success, and the Commonwealth have never looked back since.

It is considered at the FAC Charter Development Training Complex to be the most important competition behind the World Cup and the AOCAF Cup, evidenced by the trophy case in the lobby where both trophies (SWC 5 & 9) are the centerpiece of the display that features both of its AOCAF Cups and the DiBradini 53 Cup as well as the Cup of Champions from Eagles Cup 13.

All-time record: 53 wins, 19 defeats, 13 draws (2 Championships, 1 Third Place, 5 Quarterfinal & 6 Round of 16 appearances)

Formation: 3-4-1-2
Style: +2.22

Manager—Kristen Sawyer
Assistant Manager—Frederica Baptiste
Coaches—Declan Mason, Max Littlejohn

Kristen Sawyer said that home advantage played a big part for her side's performance in U18WC19, but she deserved a lot of credit for taking a fairly young squad to the Bronze medal. She's brought in a group of 16 year olds that no one would be surprised to see in a 1st XI role in Tumbra.

New players to watch
Maria Lanórsdóttir --The Graintfjall born defender has opted to cast her age group future to her adopted nation after her parents—as well as she and her two brothers—became BP citizens in the early summer. Scouts have compared her to former NT standout Tracey Vasillias.

Ursula Edwards--Made a bold statement on signing with Ridge Raiders academy a year ago: “I am not the next Annabeth Westmoreland, please do not diminish her stature by suggesting someone will reach that level. I will aspire to play at a level worthy of the past greats from this club.”

Josh Womack--The younger brother of defender Heather Womack who will be in her final youth tourney at the DBC, the St Leon born center forward is tapped for future stardom based on his current performance level at his age and height (6'3 1/2”)

Marcus Eldridge--First Team MHSAA All Star as a sophomore on the back of the lowest goals against average in the history of high school soccer in the Commonwealth (3 in 24 matches for a 0.125 mark).
Clean sheets in 21 of 24 starts with a 1-0 loss in the Midalia State Semi-Finals the only blemish on his resume.

IMPORTANT OOC NOTE: For all intents and purposes, this Tumbra that began contesting in WCQ87 is an entirely new nation. They have no recollection of their earlier exploits from WC70-80, because that simply didn't exist for this Tumbra. Any and all similarities to the nation of the similar name can and should be construed as glitches in the Multiverse. You may, however, make muted references to "having done this before" or something. For a detailed explanation of how this came to be, read these RPs.

LA SQUADRA U18

Image

Information about Juvencus:
Capital: Pomena
Population: 150,048,720 total of which 130,656,702 are ethnically Juven
Demonym:Juven
Country Code: JUE
Football Association: JFA(Juven Football Association)
Nickname: Gli attaccantini (The little attackers)

La Squadra:

*BOLD & UNDERLINED INDICATES LIKELY STARTER

Goalkeepers:

This is a spot traditionally given to the players with the fastest reaction times and the grit to withstand the pressure of being the goalkeeper in a team that cares way more to attack than to defend. Despite the shit they receive in comparison to the rest of the team, those are true inspirations on the pitch and are always treated as such by players and other managers alike.

GK:Sergio Vitaioli(Age 18)(AC Serone Primavera)(Captain)

GK:Maurizio Filipucci(Age 16)(Athletic Arragoeta Primavera)
GK:Francesco Mazzanti(Age 17)(Odiol Vinceti Primavera)

The last time a Juven team participated in an U18 World Cup proved to be a very difficult task for the goalkeepers of gli attaccantini. For that reason, the search for a goalkeeper was arduous this time around and the goalkeepers that were picked are homegrown talent that could be getting significant playtime in the future. In particular, Vitaioli was voted as the U18 goalkeeper of the year, owing to the fact he has managed to keep his goal in tact for 10 games out of 38 last season in the Campionato U18 for AC Serone Primavera. He is known for his leadership and his attributes as a sweeper keeper which is rare in Juven football. Filipucci and Mazzanti are expected to improve and learn from their senior.

Defenders:

The defender's position is always kept for players who are speedy, positionally adept and physically strong for their size and usually either have excellent leadership skills, game intelligence or a hot-headedness and most of a time a combination of the three. It is a position that also lacks the respect it deserves in Juven society, but it is one that is necessary in order to make it easier for the goalkeeper and the team as a whole.

CB:Antonio Piccoli(Age 18)(AC Pomena Primavera)
CB:Sergio Arcangeli(Age 17)(Herona Calcio Primavera)
CB:Giorgio Simoncini(Age 17)(FC Piluzzi Primavera)

CB:Paola Zanotti(Age 16)(Pio FC Primavera)
CB:Ignacio Bastianelli(Age 16)(AC Razza Primavera)

While gaps between the senior sides are prevalent, gaps between the academies are much less obvious. Talent can and is always seen between clubs of different statures and such a case is especially clear when one takes a look at the backline of this time. A variety of players from all sorts of teams all of which have the typical talents of a Juven defender, speed and position. A case could be given to Giorgio Simoncini, who really stood out as FC Piluzzi's backline mastermind while Herona Calcio's Arcangeli is known to be an unpredictable long-ball giver.

Midfielders:

A midfielder is always a maestro on the pitch and depending on which side of the midfield they are in, their characteristics change. There's no pure centrocampista in Juvencus, instead players play as offensive-minded CDM's in the middle of the field. Those players usually have vision, exceptional passing or crossing and usually dictate the speed of the attack, the most necessary element of this team's tactics. They also fall back to form a bus when deemed absolutely necessary. In the sides, you have wide midfielders who act as supplementary wingers, players with speed who can provide to the wingers or the forwards when necessary. As such, you get to see fast players with great inward crossing and forward passing.

CDM:Cristina Menicucci(Age 17)(AC Melposa Primavera)
CDM:Silvana Marconi(Age 18)(AC Trata Primavera)
RM:Daniela Schiavon(Age 16)(Internazionale Serone Primavera)
LM:Gabriella Piccinini(Age 17)(Cordoba FC Primavera)

CDM:Antonietta Gaspari(Age 18)(U.S Remeno Primavera)
RM:Carlo Ferretti(Age 16)(S.S.C Vilan Primavera)
LM:Alberto Messina(Age 17)(AC Serone Primavera)

Talented midfield out of which Daniela Schiavon is the standout talent. A real prodigy ahead of her peers, she is speedy and has a high football IQ. An exceptional player with the ball on her feet as well, as she is known as a supplier for all attacks coming from the right side. Silvana Marconi is known as the team's orchistrator, controlling the tempo of the game and of each and every attack.

Attackers:

A position held with the utmost respect as it has the most prestige in Juven football. The task to be picked for it is simple, you should know both how to score and how to supply goals. It is a position that has the most competition, as most talented Juven players are up in front and are very known across the multiverse for their prowess in front of the goal. As such, it is a position with a lot of pressure to be in, much like the goalkeeper. Wingers are fast, brilliant technicians who are excellent suppliers and have a confusingly good shooting technique. Strikers on the other, they have a strong finishing touch akin to an unstoppable force on a consistent level.

RF:Lauretta Caiazzo(Age 18)(U.S Scudelli Primavera)
LF:Flora Gagnon(Age 17)(FC Herone Primavera)
CF:Judith Accardo(Age 17)(USdC Catena)

RF:Lucette Montanari(Age 17)(Toro Calcio Primavera)
LF:Abraham Provenzano(Age 16)(Union Pomena Primavera)
CF:Ricardo Gagliardi(Age 17)(Union Torona Primavera)

It is no surprise that the place holding the highest prestige in Juven football would be the one with the only player at a senior side in this team. The case is for Judith Accardo, who has been given the opportunity to represent her local side, USdC Catena from the chained city union. A clinical striker, known through youth teams nationwide for her ability to score goals from nothing. Lauretta Caiazzo is also a fundamentally strong winger, speedy, excellent at crossing and exactly what Juven football teams need. The depth is also astounding in this team, as most players are of equal skill.

Main Formation:

Image

The typical 3-4-3 "Pomenienze" formation is issued, as is standard for all Juven national teams. No difference in comparison to the national team. Special attention will be given so that Accardo's goal-scoring abilities will shine in this team.

Staff:
Main Coach:Gian Landi
Assistant Coach:Bertrand Boticelli
Assistant Coach:Pau Lenglet

Gian Landi did a solid job to at least secure a spot outside the group stages last time he was on the helm of the U18 national team. A round of 16 exit in such a competition is no small feat and he has been given the faith to promote more youngsters this time around with the extra resources allocated his way.

The Juven national team supports a free Qusmo! Thank you for the kits, uni-q!

TROLLEBORG U18 TEAM

The youth team of our country began its journey in the world brightly, but then it suffered a number of disappointing failures, twice was completely disbanded, and now it was gathered for a third campaign.

The youth team decided to take the same uniform colors as the main team, in order of preference they are:

Image

HEAD COACH

By vote of experts and fans, Roar Haugelund, a 44-year-old coach with ten years of experience in the youth league, and currently heading the “Great March” youth team, was elected to the post of head coach.

GOALKEEPERS
Pontus Haagelund (17 y.o.). This goalkeeper, gifted with phenomenal reactions and feeling good both on the first and second floor, has already managed to try football in the first division, and has not yet made any outright mistakes.
Torstein Krag (17). Composure and purposefulness are his obvious trump cards, but the decisions he purposefully carries out are not always the most correct. The quality of his play has improved in the last year and a half, but it is not yet clear where his trajectory is headed.

DEFENDERS
Mikkel Grening (17). A very promising left-back of usual Trolleborg mold, bravely defending his area of responsibility and joining attack willingly, and he has already managed to taste the games of the major leagues.
Strangnes Agerbeck (16). Wide-backs in Trolleborg are usually expected to be fast and connected to attacks, but this player usually focuses on defensive duties. He does them exceptionally well, but this lopsidedness makes him only number two on the list of candidates for the left-back position in the team.
Per Windeslejv (17). The central defender, who subtly understands the game and knows how to read it, promises to develop into a great master if he does not stay too long in the youth league.
Helbig Kjell (16). The skill of this football player, who usually plays in the center of defense, is noted by everyone, but so far he has been let down by some ardor and indiscretion.
Jorrel Hallgrim (17). A central defender with great prospects, one of the best guards in the youth league, who has managed to prove himself positively in his rare (yet?) appearances on the field in the top division.
Brandur Brakke (17). Normally a central defender, the player is praised for his composure, but this sometimes has a negative impact on his speed, which is why he will likely be used as a reserve player in the championship.
Wim Joos (17). A right-back, fast and efficient, who does not shy away from going into someone else’s penalty area and usually manages to return to his own when need calls.
Wilkoks Yerkan (16). Coming from a family of immigrants who arrived in Trolleborg after the country opened up to the world, he was taken into the team obviously for his stamina and perseverance on the field, which is sometimes so lacking in domestic football players. By all accounts, he will be number two in the right-back position.

MIDFIELDERS
Goderick Lysbaken (17). A left midfielder by position, but regularly moves to the center if the game requires it, he loves and knows how to shoot on goal when there is no better option.
Wulfrick Kranmor (17). This left midfielder prefers to play, as we say in Trolleborg, “strictly to the line”, without going far from it, which somewhat limits his usefulness to the team that one would expect with his agility and dribbling.
Casper Lasse (17). A central midfielder with a nickname roughly translated from troll language as “impassable”, for his talent, discovered in the early years of football, to prevent opponents from doing anything in his area of responsibility. But this is not his only talent; over the years it has become clear that he also have a great understanding of the game, directing the actions of his partners, and has an excellent accurate pass.
Hagge Haggen (17). A central midfielder who has clearly learned a lot from players of this role during the golden era of our football, but is still not up to their standard. It is unclear what direction his career will take in the coming year, but for now he is one of the undoubted stars.
Hjelm Krogstad (16). A central midfielder who is technically gifted and knows how to get his teammates going. It is unclear, however, whether he will transfer this talent with him from the youth league to the professional one. A master of picking up the ball before the penalty area and making accurate shots afterwards.
Soren Melde (17). A player who knows how to calculate the course of the game like few others in the youth league, and therefore is very useful to the team, finding himself where the ball will still be in a next second, but not very fast, preferring to act with one touch and somewhat lost when more of them need to be made, so that he often does not receive all the benefits that he could expect. In recent years, however, he has clearly “accelerated”, but it is unclear whether he can progress further.
Torben Westager (17). Fast as the wind, right midfielder, diligent, technically gifted, but not particularly brilliant in inventive game, which is a significant disadvantage for a player in such a position in our football. However, perhaps he still has more to come.
Jesper Fennefoss (16). The right midfielder-winger-forward joins attacks so often that sometimes the 3-5-2 formation automatically transforms into 3-4-3, and voices are heard that it is better for him to continue his career as a forward.

FORWARDS
Per Skovsgard (17). He feels great in the roles of both the first and second forwards, but in terms of merit and skill he is somewhat inferior in skill to the other two players called up to the national team.
Peter Graulund (17). A master of getting rid of markers, disappearing as if by magic from the view of defenders and appearing where the ball is expected to arrive. His style of play is discreet, his strikes are not spectacular, but very often accurate.
Finn Forsmark (17). A fast forward, with a large reserve of strength, and quite large for his age, capable of overwhelming opponents with constant movements and imposing a power fight on them, if necessary.

Most experts agree, that most possible lineup as follows:
Haagelund as number one;
four defenders, left to right, Grening – Windeslejv – Hallgrim – Joos
four midfielders, from left to right Lysbaken – Lasse – Haggen – Westager
two forwards, Graulund and Forsmark.

The youth team is expected to act in the same way as the national team: play fast attacking football, apply pressure and avoid simulation and dirty tricks.

Greetings, compatriots!
Image

It’s TTV, and me, Olga Aarts, right now will have a conversation with none other than Roar Haugelund, head coach of our born-again U18 team. So, you are the head coach of the team. You were named on this post based on the results of a vote by coaches and fans. But fewer citizens then ever took part in voting. How you explain this?

R.H. Our people, as I see the situation, are very disoriented and disappointed with what is happening in our football, and many of this cohort considered it best to abstain so as not to prevent the specialists from making the best reasoned choice. For my part, I am, of course, glad to receive a chance from the public to be useful to the country. But, I must admit, this chance is not very great; our teams always have a difficult time in such blitz tournaments. This is – in my opinion – due to both psychology and the characteristics of physical training.

O.A. Is the determination of the players and coaching staff affected by the generally depressed mood of the football community?

R.H. It influences in a variety of ways. Yes, this is perhaps the most difficult season since the beginning of our sports teams’ performance on the world stage: one defeat after other defeat, and each one is more unfair than the other. Our teams have made, nevertheless, some progress in FFI tournaments, but the price is high: our national team, as a result of the need for many players to play on two fronts, is now teetering on the verge of outright elimination from the IAC, from which so much was expected. And I fully understand the disappointment of the fans, they expected a lot from this season, and this is how it all turned out. But this is world sport - the rule of advantage of the team playing on its own field, which was considered unshakable for centuries in our country, does not apply there; strange decisions are made and strange referees are send to our games; and in general there is a rather specific atmosphere, not fully understood by outsiders: even at the highest level, it is normal to talking shit behind someone's back and pretend that nothing happened at all whem being taken to account, with a general lack of reaction from the community itself, and in general a lot of strange things that, apparently, are regulated by some internal processes that are not visible to us. But I believe that the setbacks are temporary. As a youth team coach, I will do everything in my power to correct the situation. But I must warn you that it will be very difficult.

O.A. As you know, as soon as our teams begin to fail, conversations begin about the pointlessness of participating in international competitions...

R.H. Yes, and now such conversations are heard louder than ever before. Well, maybe it was louder in the first ever season. I can't tell you everything I know, but a lot depends on our performance – let's say it this way.

O.A. But let's get back to the most important topic, the readiness of our youth team. Do you think it is worth participating in youth tournaments under the auspices of ICFC?

R.H. No, I don't think so. If failures in the international arena have such an impact on established players, recognized masters with an established psyche, what will happen to those starting their journey in football?

O.A. What is better for a youth player - to constantly play against players of same age or sit on the bank and come on as a substitute three times a season in the major league?

R.H. First, it is important not to miss the moment when you can count not on three, but at least ten to fifteen subs appearances. And one of the most important functions of a coach in a youth league is to smoothly lead the players to the idea that it’s time to move to the professional league, just when their readiness for this is at its maximum.

O.A. Shouldn't our youth league switch to a format of matches between the youth squads of existing league clubs?

R.H. I think no. I find it very useful that the youth squad of a third league club can go head-to-head with the juniors of a club competing in the world club tournaments. But what about, say, young guys from a town that doesn’t have a professional team at all? Where can they show themselves? Will they have to leave their place and go try out for the youth team of some existing club? I am for preserving the current system; it is optimal under current conditions.

O.A. Is there a big difference between coaching in a youth league and coaching a professional league?

R.H. Really big, I must admit. Working with young people is a specific matter, and this is clearly visible: although players constantly migrate from the youth league to the professional one, coaches do this much less often; over the last ten years, well, about five, if I haven’t forgotten anyone, and three move in their own club systems. A couple more people worked as interim coaches, then returning to their previous posts.

O.A. But would you like to try your hand?

R.H. On the one hand, yes, I would like to. On the other hand, it’s better that our club team performs well and my players please spectators with their game, and I really don’t need anything else.

O.A. Well, thanks for the interview and good luck in the fields of Tumbra!

R.H. Thank you, I will really need it!

OOC: PUPPET OF SEA DOME

The CC1 Green Diamonds truly represent the brightest young stars in our City-State today. Each of them embodies the core values of Glamour, Vision, Integrity. Because of the glut of young talent competing for a few roster spots, each player is 18 and affiliated with a club or academy, which is listed.

MANAGER: Shouty Speaker (28; manager, Eastern University Biohazards, SPL 1)
Like many Supermassive Sea Dome residents, Shouty started with a name given him on another world that doesn't exist anymore, and has settled on a name that can easily be translated and understood in any language, a simple concept: Shouty Speaker, the speaker who is shouty.
based on Brian Blessed, not on any character
Shouty had a passion for 'fubble' from a young age, but as you may have guessed, soon found his calling was just off the pitch and to the side. The Speaker is impassioned, always in the moment, ready to feel the sweetness or the agony, but is also known for his brand of 4-3-3 Gegenpress. Most substitutions are used, and peppered sporadically throughout the second half, to relieve aching players who have given the enemy hell and need to cool their jets.

He prefers to win possession immediately and methodically drive up the field in neat triangular patterns, using a striker to wear out defenders before pinching in with the wingers and peppering the net. In practice, a battle plan never survives encounter with the enemy, and the highly individualistic, technical, and fast-paced Corporate style is not going to work as well against every opponent. The 4-3-3 allows Shouty to easily transition into a better shape to protect the back line, control possession, or just present a solid brick down the middle of the field. More attacking midfielders are chosen to start against teams he feels he can press more effectively, while a defensive-midfielder-led triangle format is used against offensive threats.

LOCATION: Iron Hill Zone, CC1
ELEVATION: 7,415 ft/2.26km
Not to be outdone by Red Sea Dome City, Corporate City 1's high-rise 'field' is actually a rooftop basketball court resizable for volleyball, boxlax, and other sports- including all football codes- requiring surfaces to be trucked all the way up the frightening Legion Highway or delivered by helicopter or by dropper (reconfigured pamphlet bomber). It is extremely popular due to its opposite weather conditions under the Supermassive Sea Dome giving an inherent advantage over MSD. But unlike the free-for-all down below, Peak Field only allows High City College, the CC1 Legion (senior national team), international guests, domestic members of 4 pro clubs hand-selected after proving they deserve to live higher: the Iron Hill GFC Ancients, the Dozens, the Bazaar Eagles and the Infosec-Pro Operators....and now, the CC1 Green Diamonds.

You can wear, say, or do almost anything nonviolating here because people are unusually focused on not dying. Also, it's hard to find anything in CC1 that is both profitable and illegal except one corporation overthrowing the Corporate Council, which would be unprecedented. So if you'd like to buy some terrible weapon, some people, supermedicine, regular drugs, a ship, and a crew to transport it all home our only question is: how fast can you pay?

The Overlap
All Eyes on Girello - But Will He Flourish in Weak Group?

Girello has created a certain level of buzz around the under 18s - but are they good enough for him?

The Elmyian prodigy has drawn eyeballs, getting a run of starts for Wirr Tsi at the tender age of 15, he acquitted himself well. His club might consider him one for the future, but for the under 18s he's the veteran. Only he and Anya Trespense remain from those who started in the final last time out in Baker Park. Excellent in normal time for Elmyia, with penalties approach penalty specialist Martha Ball was summoned to replace him. He watched from the bench as Elmyia were cruelly defeated 4-3 from the spot. This time out he'll be hoping to go one step further, but those ahead of him have big shoes to fill.

That team had a lot to recommend it, masterful in possession, they really drew the best out of their goalie. Girello is a star less for the bread and butter of goalkeeping, more for what he gives them with the ball. Looking at how he's done over time, the difference between goals conceded versus xG faced sees him slightly in credit, showing a slightly above average propensity for shot stopping. Meanwhile, he has more key passes and better progression statistics than any other Elmyian goalkeeper. With Karanski, Guthro and Graves ahead of him he could take a bit more licence, pushing into the backline in possession and essentially providing an extra outfielder, making it easy for Elmyia to outnumber and overwhelm their opposition.

This side ain't the Elmyian side of the past RTC. Earl, Rocho and Morgan are all not only unproven, but unfancied. In their respective academies they're widely considered part of a duff cohort. Girello need confident defenders in front of him, otherwise his passing will never be able to develop. Where Guthro and Graves had the ability to spread out and allow him to move forward centrally, Earl and Rocho will be far less keen to leave these spaces uncovered.

Problems persist further forward. Andreas upfront is not the target that Alfrero provided. He prefers to have the ball played on the ground in front of him, and even then his finishing is nothing to write home about. Parcheggiatore takes the step up from the bench last time, and is reasonably well regarded, but he's no Abbatangelo. Bruno is the only serious player in the forward line, but with little to play off he might struggle to make a serious impact on matches.

If there's to be an area of the team that delivers, it's the midfield. Trespense is an incredibly complete defensive midfielder. The half Oberouran player seems to be able to deliver in possession as a deep playmaker, and as an excellent anchoring player as the most reserved midfielder. As the only remaining first teamer, Girello might well have her as his best outball option in play. Piazza and Rowe, meanwhile, are both exciting, highly technical, players that have impressed for forward thinking sides. Both need to develop some physicality however if they're to make an impact.

In sum, if it goes well, expect Elmyia to control possession, for Girello to spray passes at will and for Bruno to have the tournament of a lifetime. If it goes wrong, expect Elmyia's full backs to get skinned, the centre-halfs to treat the ball like it's got an infectious disease and the waifish midfield and forward line to evaporate like dew on a hot day.

Nation: Montaña Verde
Trigram: MVE
Adjective/demonym: Verdean
Team nickname: (Junior) Condors

Coach: Hartman Comejo Benítez
Assistant coach: Solano Gutiérrez Cavazos

Squad: It can generally be assumed the players number 1 – 11 will start, 12 – 26 be matchday squad reserves; but there will be a certain amount of rotation. So long as you’re sensible and unless I’ve RPed otherwise, you can RP my team lineup with some variation.
 • Men and women play together in Montaña Verde. To avoid pronoun confusion, female players are marked in pink.
 • Fútbol is a tremendously popular sport in the country, rivalling Catholicism for the national religion, but limited overseas exposure means the standard is not especially high.
 • Speaking of not being especially high, Montaña Verde is one of the shortest [human] populations in the world. In general men and women are very short, with the exception of Goliat and Yrko.
 • Players are not egregiously dirty in terms of violence or deliberate fouling, but enjoy a good tactical dive now and then.
 • The bolded name or “nickname” should be used when referring to players and staff.
 • All players are assumed to be available as free agents should you wish to sign one.

Federal government to boost investment in sport; 24 "international-capable" stadiums by 2040

STRATON: The federal government has announced its intent to bolster the capacity and facilities of stadiums around Tumbra to ensure that there are at least twenty-four stadiums "capable of hosting international-standard events" by 2040. The investment in these stadiums, the government says, will "help to continue to grow Tumbra's reputation as a globally reputable location for hosting sporting events." Chief on the expansion list will be an expansion to Newton Wanderers' Novena Park to expand its capacity to at least 40,000, while Clyde Park in Clearmont will undergo a similar modernisation program.

Ten years after previous Under-18 hosting foray, the tournament returns to Tumbra

SERRAPINCE: It may not be the most glamorous tournament, but as the twenty-four teams taking part in the Under-18 World Cup lace up to take the pitch on Tuesday, attention will be focused on the next generation of young Tumbran stars. In the pre-match conference scheduled before the team's first game against Saint-Jean-Jacques et Burnham-on-Stove, under-18 national team manager John Lennon has urged the media and spectators to exercise "restraint" when reporting on the tournament. "I know we've got a lot of history in this competition, but these players are still young, and are still developing — it'd be rude to burden them with expectations." Tumbra's record at the Under-18 World Cup has been one of the best in modern history; having reached the knockouts in all seven times the team has participated in the competition, reaching the semi-finals five times in a row. Defending champions Cassadaigua will be looking to defend their title for an unprecedented third time in a group already being labelled the "Group of Death"; alongside the Commonwealth of Baker Park, Abanhfleft, and Semarland.

Locker Room
Serrapince Park, Serrapince, Tumbra

"This is something else, isn't it?"

"You could say that, Claude. They definitely aren't Nepharans, all right. Never seen a more calmer side in the face of pressure - it's almost unnerving."

"Can you believe that we're actually from where they grew up? I've always wondered how Mom became like how she is. I'm starting to get it."

"I mean, Mom's a bit on the extreme end, but yeah."

"Glad we've got some Dad in us, though I hear he's pretty timid for a Cosumarite, too."

"This is definitely no youth club game in Nephara. Did you see those Juven attackers? They were pretty solid - gave me fits trying to chase them down."

"I really tried to come down and help when I could, you know. The way we're set up, the midfield is like a diamond, but I've only so much freedom to drop back - I need to help Maddie set up the attack, and it can get a lot to set things up."

"I don't blame you at all - I'm still learning how to communicate with the others myself. Raphael's solid, though, and Jin did make some solid stops."

"Thank goodness for two strikers who aren't afraid of shooting, right?"

"Kaytlyn is something else. Mom says she reminds her of a Kaytlyn from the past - Kaytlyn Victoriane, I think? That second shot was a beauty."

"Why do you think we stayed for the whole game and weren't subbed off?"

"I think that Coach wanted to see if we could handle it, see us in action. He's seen the others in many a game in Chromatika, whether as part of the U18 squad or in club play. I'm sure he's only seen tape of us, so it was something else to watch us in real life. You didn't get tired, did you?"

"After all the conditioning that Mom put us through? Absolutely no way, she'd disown us if we gassed out."

"That is true, I suppose."

"When did Dad ask us to call, again?"

"After the postgame meeting. Speaking of which, we should get going. Need to get better set defensively to take down Krytenia and United Hawkland, and then beyond."

"Not a bad first game as part of this team, right?"

"Could've been better, could've been worse. We won, and that's what ultimately matters."

With that, the two Lethbridge-Antonios left their corner and joined the rest of the team.
