A group of nations who have missed out on the World Cup proper will be invited to participate in this tournament, battling it out for the Cup of Harmony trophy. This would be the Everything thread for the IC information only. Any OOC posts should either be made on the discussion thread.

Welcome to Poafmersia! The Ministry of Business and Trade (MBT), through the Poafmersian Tourism Board (PTB), has published various guides to Poafmersia, giving visitors from around the multiverse some information about the Poafmersian culture, heritage, and a guide to the various states and major cities in Poafmersia. The guides are often never exhaustive, and depending on the group of visitors and their purposes, PTB often customise these guides to allow them to be more informed prior to the nation of Poafmersia. In conjunction with the Ministry of Arts, Sports and Culture (MASC), the PTB has published this version of the sports guide - for fans and visiting teams coming to Poafmersia for the 86th Cup of Harmony

All about Poafmersia
Poafmersia is a really huge country located in The North Pacific, with a size of 1.8 million square kilometers. Home to approximately 850 million residents, the country is well known for its really idealistic policies and governance system. Culture
Poafmersia is very welcoming to foreign visitors who are exploring the country. The people's openness to visitors was something that couldn't be taken for granted a decade ago - when Poafmersia was largely isolationist. Sports has been a major avenue where Poafmers have gained exposure to foreign nations, especially in football, which is the most popular and successful sport in Poafmersia. Other major sports include basketball, hockey (both field and ice hockey), badminton and aquatics, though the skill level of the sportsmen largely varies.

In Poafmersia, racial and gender stereotypes are frowned upon. In many sports, men and women co-exist in national leagues, and gender neutral terms are largely preferred. As such, conversations that crosses the racial and gender lines will probably get you into trouble, so visitors should be careful of that. Care for the environment is something that is extremely unique in Poafmersia. Visitors in hotel rooms would be expected to sort out their waste between recyclables and non-recyclables. At restaurants and dining places, food wastes are chargeable, and diners are reminded to request for smaller portions if necessary. The country has largely eliminated use of plastic cups, cutlery and bags. At shopping malls, people bring recyclable bags or buy paper bags; at drink stalls, people bring their own bottles and tumblers. Visitors to Poafmersia are also expected to abide by these environmentally-friendly guidelines, and there are reminder announcements played at major ports of entry.

Poafmersia is split into 10 main states. For this competition, 8 stadiums across will be used in various stages of the competition. Stadium allocations for the Round of 16 and onward will be decided at a later date. For information about the training grounds available for teams, you may refer to this article. Apart from that, the host stadiums in Dalaris, Trimidau Island, and Mancodas, are available for booking by the teams as well.

Dalaris
Dalaris may be the smallest state per land size, but it is one of the most well developed states in the country, and is a main driver of Poafmersian economy. Georgetown, located on the Dalaris island, used to be a commercial port, but operations have largely moved across the bridge to Bigsorth. Georgetown is a heritage site, as recognised by the MASC, and there are lots of heritage buildings which represents an important part of Poafmersian history. For visitors interested in heritage tours, a visit to Dalaris is something which should not be missed.

Dalaris State Stadium, City of Dalaris (capacity 46,500)
The main stadium in Dalaris, it is home to Dalaris City, one of the biggest clubs in Poafmersia. 10 years ago, it would be absolutely unbelivable that Dalaris City was going to be one of the finest clubs in Poafmersia. But the club's rise has largely been due to their investments in a bigger stadium, better training facilities, and integrating younger players into their squad. In fact, 3 consecutive years of domination at the top is what prompted many clubs to change their strategies towards football, and changed the face of the then PFFA Premier League, now the Apex. Dalaris State Stadium will be one of the main stadiums in the hosting of the IAC.

Sporting Dalaris Stadium, City of Dalaris (capacity 37,120)
This used to be the main stadium in Dalaris, sharing between Dalaris City and Dalaris Sports FC. Both used to be semi-professional clubs, aiming to dominate the Dalaris State League, a very small football league in Poafmersia. As their bigger city rivals moved out, Dalaris Sports FC took complete ownership of the stadium. The rivalry between both clubs is often seen as a battle of thoughts. Dalaris Sports FC advocates the haggling of the ball, aggressive gameplay, as well as defence-first tactics. Dalaris City, prefers a more balanced approach, utilising possession to build momentum and create fast flowing attacks.

Piskn
Piskn is the other tourism hub, considered the big brother of Dalaris. Piskn has lots of tourist hotspots, like beaches, museums. Fast crafts betwen Trimidau and Dalaris happen close to every hourly. There is also the underwater rail between Kingsford, the biggest city on mainland Piskn by population, and Rukiya, the capital of the Trimidau Island. Kingsford and Trimidau Island will have 3 stadiums for the duration of this tournament.

Naksa Stadium, Naksa, Trimidau Island (capacity 41,000)
Trimidau Naksa is the smaller club on the island. Naksa, is the more culturally vibrant side of Trimidau, being on the eastern most point of the island. Facing the East Poafmersian Sea, the beaches are the cleanest on the country, and a grand total of 6 beach resorts exist on the outskirts of the city. Many tourists come to Naksa to enjoy water activities, including Snuba Diving, and Water Surfing.

Rukiya Sports Stadium, Trimidau Island (capacity 37,000)
Rukiya is the more developed part of the island, and is home to some clean factories that accounts for a huge part of the island's economic contributions. However, Rukiya is a must-go for its hawker culture, which is the setting up of food stalls by the road side. The intermingling of tall buildings, together with the kampung-like hawker culture, is what makes Rukiya absolutely interesting. Rukiya Sports Stadium, part of the Rukiya Sports Hub, is the home stadium of Trimidau Rukiya.

Cochas
Cochas is home to Mancodas, home to the headquarters of many companies, and also the biggest population center in Poafmersia. There are lots of corporate headquarters and branches in Poafmersia. While the official financial hub is Fiskadaha City, there are other companies who have chose to set up their headquarters and offices here in Mancodas. Mancodas is also home the University of Mancodas, the biggest university in Poafmersia (but may be less popular than the Fiskadaha School of Liberal Arts or the Maximus Rochester Institute for Science and Technological Research), featuring faculties in various areas.

Mancodas Complex, Greater Mancodas (cap. 60,000)

Mancodas Complex is part of the Mancodas Sports Complex, the biggest sports complex in Poafmersia. Featuring 6 indoor sports halls, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, the Mancodas Basin (which allows for open water activites), Mancodas training ground (typically used for gridiron and rugby), as well as other indoor facilities such as a cycling track. Mancodas Complex is wel connected to the city center of Mancodas, and is home to Mancodas Athletic FC, the oldest football club in Cochas.

Located in the heart of Mancodas, it is the closest to the Mancodas Airport. It is one of the stadiums with the best facilities, featuring a retractable roof and the ability to change the field format for various sports. It is home to Mancodas City, one of the top clubs in the Apex.

Tikahs
Tikahs, the center of Poafmersia, home to Fiskadaha City, the capital of Poafmersia, is also the main financial hub of Poafmersia. The most developed state in Poafmersia. Home of many developments, many financial headquarters, and offices. Tourists would mainly want to come to Tikahs for the amusement parks, the casinos. Businessman would come for Tikahs' numerous conventions, the various business meetings. It is also the main entry point into Poafmersia (through the Fiskadaha International Airport).

Dreamers Park, Fiskadaha City (capacity 60,000)
Home to the capital's only football club, Fiskadaha FC, Dreamers Park is one of Poafmersia's only artificial fields. The use of an artifical field back then, was a first in Poafmersia, and teams used to find the Dreamers Park a difficult place to navigate due to the lack of natural grass. Nowadays, the Poafmersian National Team use this as their main training ground, an alternate to Libira, and also a place for teams to practice playing on artificial grass.

Located in the heart of Fiskadaha City, it is the home stadium of the Poafmersian National Team, and hosts the PFFA Cup finals yearly. The Libira National Stadium is a multi-use stadium which could be used to host other events, and is one of the first stadiums to have the multi-use feature with regards to the field. It will a very specific role in this tournament, hosting the Grand Finals of the tournament.

About Huayramarca: The Plurinational State of Huayramarca, also known as ”Huayramarca Mamallaqta” in Quechua and ”Huayramarca Suyu” in Aymara (literally: Windy Country), is an extraordinarily diverse nation in terms of geography that’s located in Anaia. Crossing three time zones, from the islands, reaching the coast, hiking the mountains, and then sliding into the jungle, passing massive cordilleras, a nation with 36 million inhabitants that is composed by 9 ethnical groups.

Before introducing the stadia, there’s some handy information for away fans who might visit Huayramarca. As said before, this nation has a quite complex geography and some long distances to travel for away fans, since there are four international airports: Huayramarca International Airport, located near Huayramarca Metropolitan District at the highlands; the Jorge Guerra International Airport in Lima, on the coast; the International Airport of the Archipelago on Puerto San Carlos (isles) and the Libertador Suárez International Airport of Sechura (jungle). Those airports might provide you with connections for other destinations such as Guayaquil, San Ignacio de la Frontera and Nauta if you want to travel safely. If you are a risk taker and lover of adventure, rent an AWD vehicle and go up mountains or driving through them which is a complete odyssey due to the risks caused by the Andean geography itself, or the safe-to drive-coasts or through the jungle, which can be desolated to drive in case of mechanic failure.

People in Huayramarca might be passional about football pretty much everywhere, but more hostile when you go down the mountains, driving to the coast. Down there, if people don’t attack you, weather might do due to the offensive humidity, mosquitoes and heat that may occur there. In Lima, despite being in the coast, the weather is mild and great to play football, but there might be some sandstorms due to the deserts located south of said city. Coastal teams usually play at afternoon, when humidity may suffocate those not used to deal with it.

Same happens at the jungle, but the mosquito issue multiplies thousand-fold, also as humidity caused by constant rains that pass there in their transit to the highlands. Water absorption made by trees cause severe issues with an extremely humid weather, hence jungle teams decide to play often at noon, to torture rival teams.

On the Sierra things get worse since the main problem up there is respiration. For a physical activity like football, people might need some weeks to acclimatize altitude and get an efficient breathing pattern that might supply their physical effort needs. Several cities are above the 2500 masl, even the capital city, which is located at 4000 masl, it doesn’t matter at which time they decide to play, if a team isn’t acclimatized, they will even faint during the game if they don’t have with them oxygen tanks to breathe before the game or if they don’t get some treatment into a hyperbaric chamber.

It is important to remember, for tourists, that Huayramarca offers a free-roaming law when it comes to cities and rural zones, which lets people go around in rural areas even in private property, but always try to be 200 meters away from their house, be polite and keep clean everything. Data: Built in 1968, the Estadio Nacional is the jewel in the not so well-shaped crown of the Huayramarcan sport venues, an Olympic stadium that might be a nightmare for visiting teams due to the altitude and weather of the city, which tends to be somewhat hostile every day, even more if it's played at noon due to the sun's radiation at that altitude. Despite being an Olympic stadium, people tend to set significant pressure in it, especially from the neighbouring apartment blocks which tends to be crowded for the matches being held there (they might aim lasers from there, take care!).

Also, the walls near the dressing room have curious messages as such: "Welcome to Huayramarca D.M. At 4,000 meters above sea level "is one of the first things the visiting teams will read upon entering the dressing room, perhaps to make clear the conditions to which they will be subjected throughout the game. It is still intimidating the following warning that is issued when they leave the visiting dressing room "Caution, if you have the following symptoms: Headache, vertigo, fatigue, tachycardia, nausea or vomiting, wheezing, dyspnoea or inappetence, go to the medical staff, we are at your disposal."

Data: The Ministry of Culture and Sports has decided to revamp the sporting infrastructure across Huayramarca to promote football among young people and form, in a near future, a strong Huayramarcan National Team. To fulfil said promise stadia were built in significant places in Huayramarca, San Ignacio de la Frontera is one of those sometimes-forgotten outposts of the nation yet relevant for trading with its neighbouring Mertagne in the eastern side of the Highlands. Home of Audax Cajamarca, this stadium promises to offer one of the most interesting fan scenes in the nation, as people are more enthusiastic than other places in Huayramarca, considering the heavy influence that Mertagnian football has caused in this place.

Not as high as another venues in terms of altitude, the 2,325 meters above sea level isn't a cipher that should be underestimated, to the contrary, it's still a problematic altitude for teams that aren't used to it, especially on ball shooting and breathing conditions. This stadium is the only one in Huayramarca that uses turf as ground to play, something that could cause issues with visiting teams and Huayramarcans that might not be used to play here.

Data: Behold to what is one of the highest (if not the highest) stadium in the Multiverse. Huayramarcans are known for their impressive resilience to high altitudes, and this is a significant example, El Alto is a satellite city of Huayramarca D.M. and home of half a million people that’s located at a highly elevated portion of the Altiplano (4500 m.a.s.l. average). A working-class city, characterised for being the entry point for people settling from the rural areas and the gateway for students into the metropolitan life, El Alto can also prove to be a hostile field as it’s hard to adapt and settle in such conditions.

Home of Club Universitario del Altiplano and Club Atlético Always Ready, this stadium has not been created for the sake of torturing rivals, instead, for the popularity of the sport among the inhabitants of El Alto. People are usually thirsty for sports after a tough day, as people usually work under extenuating labour conditions, hence this is an authentic kettle set to explode in support for the local team.

Sociedad Petrolera is a modest Liga 1 side, but one that tends to attract ticket sell outs every game, since people in that region tends to be quite enthusiastic of football in order to forget they’re not so good daily life. At that city, one should take care of humidity, which tends to be quite strong at times, hence teams usually play there on afternoon or night, since heat might be something difficult to stand even for locals.

Data: Located in the high-elevation jungle, a biome located between 1,500 and 2,000 meters above sea level, Nauta is considered by many as the gateway to the Huayramarcan jungle, as it is the most populated town (255,000) in a desolated strip of 1,200 km of road that connects to Sechura (the fourth largest city of Huayramarca). Anyways, part of a wave of stimuli from the Government towards Football, Nauta got awarded a new venue for their local second division team and, potentially, a home for future matches of The Condors, which will be a reality in this World Cup Qualifier. Inspired in shells found at the shores of the river Nanay (which divides the city in two), this stadium reflects the local identity of the Nautans, people dedicated mostly to fishing activities.

This might be the calmest venue of the seven that Huayramarca will provide for this World Cup Qualifier, but don’t take it for granted that will be easy; mosquitos and weather will also play its match in Huayramarca, and this is not an exception.

Data: Pando is located just in the outskirts of the burgeoning city of Brigadier Echeandía, part of the well-known “Cocoa Axis” serving as a gateway to some of the best plantations of cocoa in Anaia. As part of the massive development that the Huayramarcan Selva is having due to oil and cocoa, the Autoridad Deportiva de Pando decided to invest in building a significant stadium for two of the strongest and most popular clubs of the Department such as Vaca Díez and ABH, hence it was built with savings coming from taxation of those two lucrative activities.

The environment could be relaxed compared to other venues in Huayramarca, fans there tend to be supportive but more as a hobby rather than a passion… But there’s no certainty on how this could change with the Huayramarcan National Team visiting their lands.

"El Metropolitano" is the most recently built stadium in the nation and will make the debut for international football in Huayramarca. Hosts two teams and the fan atmosphere in Guayaquil is one of the most intimidatory ones in the multiverse, fans throwing you stones while receiving, throwing flares, extremely noisy people all around and the incredibly hot and humid weather that dominates the city may be lethal for some teams when trying to visit. Rescuing a tie from here may be considered something great, since you survived the "Guayaco" hell. Hence that, teams often love to play at the afternoon, specially at 3:00 P.M. to squeeze out the rivals in exhaust.

This is the second largest stadium of Huayramarca, and it’s known for being built in a way that optimizes acoustics, so fans could be noisier than they really are during their fireworks receiving of the local team. To include more communities into the sport, the HFF has considered to include this venue (and the city of Lima) for this WCQ to see more local identity during the matches.

Never quite hit the heights that people expected from him whilst he was an international player, but has turned out to be quite the astute tactician during the long decades of closed borders. Has been handed the reins of the national team by the newly re-branded VFA after his streetwise and resilient tactics secured East Franz their most recent title, and the OO have been watching him closely ever since. He's actually unaware that he's being used by the establishment as something of a scapegoat, but not for the reasons you might think, so on the face of it, everyone is just cracking on. All he knows is, he's under pressure to succeed, and succeed quickly, so when his side lost at home to Saint Eleanor in the last group stage game with a playoff spot on the line...? Yeah. It's fine. It's no big deal; it's only our international reputation at stake. Now, sit up straight, get your hand on your heart, and sing the national anthem. Louder! And hold still, I'm trying to stitch a bit more gold braid onto your epaulettes...

A True Valhallan, Aalto's Külmsaari background means he is born from the same cradle that supported the Party in their rally against Sargossan influence and used it to gain power in the Federation. The Party will be relying on his presence to subconsciously remind the players of what is at stake this campaign - i.e. the mission to prove to the Multiverse that Valhalla Stronk. Indeed, they've made sure of that by giving him secret instruction to contradict Miroshnichenko whenever they think it would pay to have the national team coach look undermined. The slightly purer VFA members however will be hoping that his attacking tendencies temper Miroshnichenko's conservative leanings. Clean sheets are important, sure, but scoring is fun. Now, sing up! Aut pax, aut bellum!

The Terns might not have covered themselves in glory at the Copa during their return to international football, but without Aigner in the goalmouth, things could have been a whole lot worse, and he proved himself during World Cup Qualifying when he was so often the different between a one-nil win and something far less satisfying. Still young for a goalkeeper, Miroshnichenko will be hoping that Aigner can be the bedrock of the Terns' defence for years to come, as he was for the Spires when he was Aigner's club manager instead. It would take a very good player indeed to unseat him, that's for sure.

A True Valhallan, Braun's emergence as a right-back in the same mould of the legendary Moses Luc Bjerregaard can be traced back to the money they invested in their youth academy following their hot streak of league titles. Excitingly for both Hauker and the Terns, he isn't the only player in this squad that you can say that about. Lightning quick, he sacrificed a promising track career to concentrate on football, and his pace makes up for his lack of pure tactical awareness. Expect to see him bombing down the wing in support of Heimark as often as the manager lets him.

#3 - WBL- Jens Carlquist - Age 29 -

A True Valhallan, Northbrook captain Carlquist is a strong, no-nonsense kind of wing-back, who is usually happy to let others do the running. He's as fast as the modern game requires a player in his position to be, but his strength lies not in dribbling. Instead, he acts as a wide anchor in attack; pinging cross-field diagonals and possession retaining short passes as and when required. Has lifted two of the last three Divisjon One titles with the Diamonds, and hates losing.

But for sheer leader, you'll be hard pressed to find a better rock to base your defence around.

A True Valhallan, Ohm was one of the stars of the recent DBC campaign in Valanora and Banija. He had already shown enough in the squad at the last Copa to usurp Olsen in the starting eleven by the time the crucial game against Sargossa rolled around, and that DBC campaign did him no harm whatsoever. Much is hoped for in Bjarnarey from this kid, and he's going the potential to be one of the Bargemen's all timers if he keeps up this trajectory.

#6 - DC - Onni Boes - Age 29 -

A True Valhallan. Onni Boes is one of the biggest characters in the dressing room, famously being discovered halfway out to sea on a Kuril fishing vessel three days after the last time East Franz won the league title, alongside two circus acrobats, a stuffed fox, no memory of how he got there, and a crushing headache. Elaborate and flamboyant, he's more like an attacking midfielder trapped in a centre-back's body sometimes, but he makes the game fun to watch. And with Miroshnichenko's emphasis on defence, that might be crucial to watching audiences this campaign. The fans love him, and so will your television editors. You know the phrase "if a defender has to make a tackle then they've already made a mistake"? Yeah. Not that.

#7 - AMC - Sebastian Nylund - Age 23 -

A True Valhallan, Nylund can operate as a number ten but does tend to drift wide, a fact that the tactics are set up to exploit. Expect to see him pop up when and where you least expect him too, and good luck trying to mark him. He's going to be the attacking fulcrum for the Diamonds for many years to come by the looks of things, and fair enough. He could play wherever you wanted him to in the opposition half, really, and on more than one occasion has operated as a second striker for the Terns. Nimble, agile, full of tricks, and with the physique to ensure he can't get pushed around; this kid isn't a kid anymore.

#8 - DMC - Ragnar Holst - Age 26 -

A True Valhallan, Ragnar Holst was only a teenager when he helped propel Aasiaat to their only Divisjon One titles so far. Aasiaat may not have maintained that form, but Ragnar himself has. He's got fierce competition now form another teenager attempting to emulate him, but it looks for now like he's got the number eight position locked down. Smart, clever, and lets his feet do the talking, particularly on the edge of either box.

#9 - ST - Dmitry Eisenhauer - Age 29 -

A True Valhallan, Eisenhauer is probably the closest the Terns have come in recent years to emulating Timo Skye. At least, in terms of ego. Unlikely to be remembered in the same breath as the great man, or even in the same breath as the next six or seven great men to have scored goals for the Terns, he is nonetheless as very capable and skilful striker who is extremely good at hitting the ball cleanly, and incredibly hard. When Eisenhauer kicks it, it stays kicked. Was snapped up by SK from Sibir at a young age, his ego is now befitting the team that thinks they have a Thor-given-right to win everything every season, which is at least something else he has in common with Skye. Knows he's got competition from Niemi, and has raised his game as a result.

#10 - MC - Oscar Pallasmaa - Age 26 -

A True Valhallan, Pallasmaa is possibly the most talented all-round midfielder the Federation has produced in a generation. Adept at holding, knowing when to press forwards, and when to let loose with one of his famous long range passes, it is impossible to imagine the modern Bjarnarey without him, such is the club and even the city's reliance on him as a talisman. Grew up within sight of The Barge, he is a local hero to the Bjarnese, and fast becoming a national one, too. Leads by example, and is the first name on the teamsheet every time. A potential all-timer.

#11 - AMC - Einar Heimark - Age 21 -

East Franz Athletic

A True Valhallan, Heimark was the only member of the DBC runners-up squad to have already been a starter for the senior team at the time, so it was slightly surprising that he wasn't necessarily the stand-out star of that tournament for the Chicks. Nonetheless, he is an energetic and direct attacking midfielder who will need other players to do some of the legwork for him. Operating almost as a second striker for his club side, his ability to draw defenders out of position should in theory create plenty of space for Eisenhauer to exploit.

#12 - GK - Niko Wederberg - Age 33 -

A True Valhallan, Wederberg has played for almost half the teams in Divisjon One at this point, and seems to have been around forever. His attempts to help SK end their title drought came up short, so he got bored and has moved to Surtsey since the end of the Copa, with Alexandersson moving the other way. Nevermind. He'll probably end up at Resolute Storm or North Star next season (two more clubs on his stampcard and he gets a free one), and might even have a couple more international caps to his name by then.

#13 - GK - Jori Sipp - Age 22 -

A True Valhallan, Sipp's performances at DBC55 impressed Miroshnichenko enough to earn himself a call-up into the senior squad, replacing the only slightly older Alexandersson. Is unlikely to be here to provide much more than depth and competition for Aigner, but could well be destined for big things. A nimble and cat-like penalty specialist... which might be useful if there are shoot-outs on the horizon...

#14 - AMC - Elvis Haugen - Age 21 -

A True Valhallan, Haugen is in the same boat as Sipp in this his string of performances at DBC55 convinced Miroshnichenko, or the selection panel at least, to take a punt on the latest all-round export from the Haapa-Mechelin Youth Academy to start setting their sights on international domination - and his performances from the bench in qualification have done nothing to harm that. Not quite as a direct as Heimark, his touch and strength in possession, alongside his short and stocky frame, means getting the ball off him can be almost impossible. A great asset for keeping the ball out of dangerous areas whilst protecting a lead - attack being the best form of defence and all that...

#15 - WBL - Vilhjalmur Wedlund - Age 25 -

A True Valhallan, Wedlund is one of the first names on Axel Heiburg's teamsheet at the moment, but still has some tricks to learn if he's going to displace Carlquist from the Terns' starting line-up. His approach to the game is almost the exact opposite to Carlquist's, which means he remains a good option form the bench when the management want to shake things up, but don't expect to see him stating many games whilst the Northbrook man is in form.

#16 - WBR - Rafael Kowaleski - Age 30 -

A True Valhallan, there isn't much that Kowaleski can't do with a football. It seems at times like he was born with an innate knowledge of whereabouts the football and both goals were at all times. He does sometimes lose concentration and forget where he's supposed to be, or who he's supposed to be marking, but for mostly risk-free backups you don't need to worry about, he's hard to beat in the Federation right now.

#17 - DMC - Nic Dementieva - Age 19 -

A True Valhallan and a real firecracker of a midfielder, Nic Dementieva is curating a growing reputation for wild hair, impassioned tackling, and a ferocious appetite for winning the ball. Still has some maturing to do no doubt, but if you wanted to point him in the direction of the opposition playmaker and say, "Nic: destroy!" then you're going to see fireworks. Gives off a sort of 'psychiatric patient' aura that can be deeply unsettling for the opposition. If you genuinely thought your marker didn't care one bit about staying on the pitch or not, you do tend to temper your actions somewhat. And yet, has never been sent off. Yet.

#18 - ST - Emmanuele Niemi - Age 20 -

A True Valhallan, Emmanuele Niemi was the talk of the Federation when he lit up DBC55 with his goalscoring, almost single-handedly propelling the Chicks all the way to the semi-finals before a freak gym accident left him on the operating table. Now playing with only one thumb, he cuts an unusual figure on the field, simultaneously looking like he's both craving attention and trying to go under the radar at the same time, and he has a very distinctive run. You can't argue with goals however, and Nasjonale look like they've secured a gem here. His father is also a former Polarian u21s international, and he was born in the Fallenmark capital of Marylebone, which is sometimes a controversial topic for some of the authorities. Turns out that even they can't argue with goals however, and Niemi is pushing Eisenhauer hard for that number nine shirt.

#19 - MC - Noah Leonhardt - Age 27 -

A True Valhallan, Noah Leonhardt has a bit of an unfair reputation for being the most boring man in Polarian football. A classic watercarrier, or shuttler, he doesn't stand out or appear to do anything particularly noteworthy at either end of the pitch. He scored once for SK last season - his first in three season - and some commentators genuinely didn't have the stats for his last goal totals in even their back-up notes. Fans have been known to groan when he is announced in the starting line-up, or when coming on as a sub, and yet he keeps plugging away. Managers love him, and you'd miss him if he wasn't there.

A True Valhallan, exploded into the national consciousness with some electrifying performances at the Copa with his strike partner Emmanuele Niemi. So impressive was it, in fact, that the entire nation seemed to be clamouring for his inclusion in the World Cup squad. Another Bjarnese native, the little floating city seems to be producing a little golden generation at the moment, and this particular member of that generation is going to have a point to prove during his time with the Terns. More of a deep lying player than an out-and-out finisher, he is a dream of a strike partner to have for others - the only problem being that if Miroshnichenko wants to get the best out of him he's going to have to go two up front.

#21 - MC - Gustav Kommersen - Age 27 -

SK Aasiaat Harbour

A True Valhallan, Gustav has been Aasiaat's chief playmaker for three seasons now, and the Victorrinn club is being built around the midfield combination of him and Holst. The pair have been split up in the naitonal team thanks to the strength of Pallasmaa in Kommersen's position, but Kommersen is taking it in his stride, happy instead to provide cover and competition for the Terns captain. A free kick specialist, so don't be surprised to see him thrown on in the last few minutes if Miroshnichenko decides to play for set pieces in search of a late winner or equaliser.

#22 - DC - Heino Olsen - Age 26 -

A True Valhallan, Olsen was in the starting line-up at the start of the Copa, and will be disappointed to see his place lost to Ohm. Is on a mission to claim his spot back as a result, and appears to have doubled his levels of professionalism. Tall and gangly, he looks like he'd be easy to outmuscle in the box, but possesses a wiry sort of strength that has surprised many an attacker not just with his ability to hold them off, but also with the length of his legs - that seem to have just the extra inches required to beat them to the ball when it really matters. So far hasn't managed to win back that spot, but, he's working on it.

Assuming he eclipses his father and manages to live up to the expectations that many hold for him, then a very bright future awaits indeed. The final member of the u-21s squad that finished runners-up at DBC55 to be included in this roster, but with Aapo also gaining his first cap in the Copa Rushmori this was never really in doubt either. Having said that, though, didn't really set the world alight with his performances in qualifying. So, maybe he'd not quite ready yet. Remains to be seen.

TACTICS: 3-4-2-1
The Polarian game was famous for being methodical in its approach, calmly assessing where the weaknesses of the opposition lay before ruthlessly attacking and exploiting them mercilessly, all whilst being technically superb and abrasive in defence. Miroshnichenko has started his reign however by making sure that this internationally naive bunch of players are hard to beat first and foremost. They will attempt to frustrate the opposition in order to avoid humiliation on this return to the international stage, rather than play any sweeping attacking football that leaves us open at the back. To be fair to him, even though he lost his nerve at several points during WC94 Qualifying and went against his own best instincts, it nearly worked first time...

The back three of Dahm, Ohm, and Boes will not be taking unnecessary risks, and will sit back at almost all times, only really going beyond the halfway line should a corner be taken. Braun and Carlquist will often be the first line in attack when a counter-attack is sprung, rushing forwards quickly to support Nylund and Heimark in their task of supplying throughballs and chips forward for Eisenhauer - a skilled technical finisher and extremely capable physical player. The midfield of Pallasmaa and Holst will largely be tasked with protecting the defence and breaking up the attacks of the opposition, although Pallasmaa's eye for a pass means in games we dominate he will often be the metronome in the heart of the field.

Likely frustrated by this conservative approach will be assistant manager Federico Aalto, whose basis in the Külmsaari game means his base instinct is to always attack. With one coach hellbent on defending, and the other on attacking, the newly rebadged Valhallan Football Association have hired the perfect combination of talent to advertise Secretary General's 'True Valhallan' way of life to the outside multiverse for the first time in nearly three decades.

A quick IC note for your RPs:
The Federation is no longer the bastion of civil rights and political freedoms that you might remember. The long absence from international sport is thanks to an isolationist and paranoid military police state taking over, using whipped up fear against the Sargossans' claim to Külmsaar and Terra Scotia as both carrot and stick. Citizens are now preoccupied with achieving the title of True Valhallan, which is acquired through either military service, civil service, outstanding conduct, or as of recently, representing your national in international sport.

Quite why they've done all this is yet to be ascertained exactly, but the exercise is being described as a good way to advertise the new Valhalla to the outside world. In actual fact, Secretary General Orion Lund has an ulterior motive, one which was revealed to the reader and the reader only at the end of the WCQs campaign. There is no reason that your characters would know for certain what Lund has planned for Miroshnichenko or the nation in general, though you are free to speculate - particularly where the reappearance of Alexsandr van Sorensen is concerned.

As an aside, the nation has also taken a rather more bullying tone towards the rest of the Valhallan Union, with Minor Valhalla now very much pressured into living up to the definition of its geographical title, and not best pleased about it.

So, the nation is no longer closed, but Valhallan fans will not yet be permitted to travel in large numbers, and organised supporters groups are currently illegal. Expect plenty of shady support staff to follow the Terns abroad, too.

In short; it's Valhalla, Jim, but not as we know it...

Coach: Darryl Lamarein - Lamarein was pro in something other than sports, namely an accountant, when he was asked to take over the finances of Mongol FC, then a third division side. After getting the finances in order he also noticed they tended to make more money and play better if they used different tactics with different players. He eventually convinced the GM to let him try that for one game. They won 6-0. They did it the next game, they won 6-2. Lamarein was then made coach of the Mongols where he led them to straight promotions. Then people got angry at him and had him manage the national team assuming that he would get paid for a do nothing job. Then the Isolation ended and now he's doing things. Now a minor legend and somebody who everybody looks up to for coaching advice in Milchama.

Lamerein plays the traditional Milchamian 3-3-4 with a +3 modifier.

Milchama plays most of their games at the National Stadium (אצטדיון לאומי) in Alexandria. 110,000 seats.

D: Eric Hexidevorah - Not half of something but all of something. Eric is a great outside defender able to play on both wings.
D: Dervan Kelliers CB - One of the new young CBs that has risen through the ranks in Milchama. Many compare him to Wilson as young'un. Expect him to start very soon.
D: Theo Elkenstall - LB. Natural left footer known for his good crosses.
M: Kelly Filimitov - LM - Lefty dead ball specialist. Also very good at crosses.
M: Cal Kamet CM - The rare Milchamian attacking mid. Nobody really knows what to do with Kemet because they play in all sorts of weird spaces that don't traditionally exist in Milchama. Has led to them leading the goal scoring 2 of the last 3 years in the New Babylon league. They/them.
M: Amy Cekarn - RM - Defensive mid. With a new defense and midfield is in the team to provide more defensive spine.
F: Millie Kouriea - LF - Plays with Floren at club level. Her ability to link up with him on offense has led to mini revival for Floren in club football so they figured why not put her on the national team as well? It worked out so well that Floren is now on the bench and Kouriea is still in the starting lineup.
F: Avi Benbemore - CF/LF - He's the sephardic Avi Belmowitz, which makes him the Sephardic Alan Belmore. He will, probably, score all the goals.
F: Elliot Flok - CF/RF - Pure scorer. Has moved himself into the starting lineup as one of the few Milchamians who didn't suck during qualifying. Also Holden Flomes retired.
F: Colm Interlasskoti - RF - Was once Milchama's greatest prospect. Then Milchama's greatest bust and now, finally, at 26 in the starting lineup. They/them pronouns.

GK: LaDonte Crenter - Third string. He also occasionally plays left back.
D: Yosef Ben Bazar - CB While his dad might be weird, Ben Bazar is not. His no nonsense attitude translates into a lot of cards at time.
D: Clara Tresa - For a Milchamian defender has surprisingly good dribbling skills. Her offensive production though is stopped by her hard tackles.
D: Davis Clark - Big man who is good at headers.
D: Gal Dale - A wave of enthusiasm has been met with her inclusion in the national team. We are ready and not worthy for such a great defender.
M: David Wongstein - Started as a Discord joke. Is actually Milchama's most exciting midfield prospect.
M: Tiam Hotonon - RM - Led the Invading Crusaders to a surprise 2nd place and got himself into the national team picture.
M: Morris Maris - Fast tricky winger. Was decided to move back to the bench to help transition the team. He might just break back into the starting lineup soon.
M:Lars Ben Johnson - Despite the confused name, he is not a confusing player. A classic box to box midfielder who provides spine to the midfield while also ranging forward when he wants to.
F: Tzvi ben Yochanan - Fast goalscoring forward. Known for his long runs where he's just onside near the last defender.
F: Yoni Flominon - Incredible passing skills has led to multiple assist titles in the Karakorum League for Flominon. Moved up to Alexandria and immediately got a starting position for Jasper's Creepers.
F: Abby Goldshires - Outside striker who is known for her technical vision and skill. Still very young with a lot to work on.
F: Aiden McDavies - Has no idea what's he's doing here and we don't either. Will probably score all the goals.
F: Marc K. Floren - Not related to Marc J. Floren despite the name. Greatest finisher in the modern Milchamian league. Will be first off the bench.

KRYTENIA 2310 CUP OF HARMONY SQUAD

Beginning their football journey way back in the second Baptism of Fire competition, Krytenia are one of the oldest national teams still competing in international football. With five World Cups hosted, as well as a smattering of AOCAFs, Cups of Harmony, Baptism of Fires, and even a CAFA Cup, they also have a deserved reputation for organising top-level football competitions. What they don't have, though, is a reputation for winning. They are yet to win a World Cup; in fact, they have only reached one final, losing to Aguazul in World Cup 58. Five semi-final defeats are what set the tone for the Dragons – indeed, losing in the semis of a major competition is known as the “Krytenian Curse”. That said, there is silverware in their cabinet. Having created the AOCAF Cup, Krytenia eventually won the fifty-second iteration of the competition; more recently, they won Cup of Harmony 78 and nearly added a second two cycles later, losing to fellow co-hosts Græntfjell on home soil. A third major trophy took a while to come, but with victory in the sixth CAFA Cup the Krytenian team joined the small band of nations who have won two different regional competitions.

They may have a reputation as the multiverse's nearly men, but never let yourself be deluded that the Krytenians are defeatist. Even though they may come up short, it's a very rare thing to see a Dragons team simply give up. Be aware that when the sky blue shirts are on the field, you will be in for a tough game, and victory will always be hard-earned.

Manager – BRELK-XERAL Erv (QUS), Age 68
Started their career in their native Qusmo, where they brought first KF Atlov and then Atlov Juzuna to prominence (or at least relevance) in the domestic and international game. This led to them getting the national team job at Brenecia, which resulted in a Campeonato Esportiva trophy. After some initial promise, the team appeared to have hit a plateau; not only that, but for CAFA VI “BXE” had the additional challenge of being without assistant manager Graham Lawton, whose neurological ailment has forced him into full retirement. It mattered not, however, as the wily Qusmi guided the Dragons to their third-ever piece of major silverware.

A persistent knee injury may have curtailed Warren's career before it even started, but it hasn't dulled his enthusiasm for the game. BXE saw his work with Bradwell Saints' academy team and suggested the young coach to the KFA. Taking a leaf from his Qusmi mentor's book, Warren is made his mark at the Under-18 World Cup, guiding the teenagers to a fourth-place finish. Fresh from that experience, Warren will be learning at the feet of BXE, following Graham Lawton's illness and forced retirement.

The Caversham stopper seems to be made up entirely of limbs; her teammates have steered into this skid by nicknaming her “The Black Widow” - after the spider, before anyone asks.

Kendrick is tall. Like, ridiculously so. Measuring up at 7'2”, and with hands like shovels, the Royals stopper is an imposing figure in the goalmouth. That said, he has a tendency to parry rather than catch the ball cleanly.

One from the James Orwell playbook, Bogdanovic seems happier with the ball at his feet rather than in his hands. Don't be fooled, though, as the Oustia stopper is still a reliable shot-stopper.

Bombastic wing-back who fits right in with BXE's attacking philosophy. Looks more comfortable with the ball at his feet than trying to win it back off opposing wingers.

Bags of pace and excellent positioning. Lewis does tend to see tackling as a last resort, and is happier guiding opposing wingers down a cul-de-sac instead.

Tormalay-born winger snatched from CFF Monthuez's squad as a teenager by the Mariners. Flies down the right flank with strawberry blonde locks flowing; will almost certainly make a mint advertising shampoo at some stage in his career.

Free-kick specialist and deadly accurate in the pass. Having Lewisin the wide positions behind him should allow Haller to cut inside and create havoc in the middle of the park as well.

Very much a “do-it-all” forward, happy to play as the focal man or as a false nine. Happiest with ball at his feet, looking to give defenders migraines.

Apex predator of a striker, seems to find a way to get on to any ball delivered into his general area. A useful skill considering the bunch of cloggers he has to deal with at Aigburth.

“System Erv”, named for...well, take a guess, is on the face of it a 4-2-3-1. With the Krytenians on the ball, however, expect this to change quickly to a 4-2-4 as the second line pushes up to support the striker. The two holding midfielders will be the fulcrum of the attack; expect the ball to move quickly between light blue shirts, especially on the counter. Press, pace, and overloading and overwhelming opposition defences will be the order of the day.

Off the ball, Krytenia will play a high line; they may be vulnerable to balls over the top – if opposition attackers can time their runs to avoid the offside and beat the Dragons' defenders for pace.

Crest

The crest of the Dantopian national team features a blue lion's face on a red and white shield. The lion is the national animal of Dantopia and is frequently used in Dantopian imagery and state symbols. Simplified designs of the crest with alternate colour-ways have been featured more recently, and appear on the current kits the national team sport.

Colours

Dantopia's traditional home colours are a navy shirt with white shorts and white socks. Traditionally the away strip is a reverse of the home; a white shirt with navy shorts and navy socks. A third uniform has been worn on occasion in recent years to prevent a clash in the event Dantopia play another team who play in blue and white, with this strip being an all red ensemble. The three uniforms therefore showcase the three colours of the Dantopian flag, red, white and blue.

The Archalitian football team, nicknamed the “Pirates” in accordance with the Pirate’s Republic, are a fledgling
team in the Football world. They found massive success in their first year in BoF 80 where they placed as runner-
ups behind Kirungabi. Their second year was not so successful, immediately losing BCC 5 in the first round of
knockouts and following it up with four straight losses in IC 18. Since then, their third year has proven to be a
bounce-back season, making a very unlikely run to third place only to come just short of missing qualifiers after
losing to the previous finalists, Chromatika, in the playoffs. Now, pleased to be here but hoping for more, the
team has its sights set on redemption in this years Cup of Harmony.

About Archalit
Archalit is a socialist state associated with The Pacific. After a recent regime change, the nation has begun the radical shift from an oppressive totalitarian state with closed borders to an open, friendly country with overarching social policies and libertarian left beliefs. As a result of this, the nation has become open to international sports among other activities. They are notable for their incredible unity and trust amongst one-another. The nation is massive, spanning the equivalent width of a supercontinent, filled to the brim with over 6 billion people where the population has since stagnated. The capital of Archalit is Charkara, the home of the gargantuan Archalit Olympic Stadium, housing a capacity of ninety-five thousand people.
Player Information
The starting lineup is very much alike from the World Cup Qualifiers.

For the most part, Roland Baker has succeeded where Damien Looke has failed. Baker has stronger instincts and has a simply faster reaction time than Looke, allowing him to perform the kind of game-saving plays that Looke often fails at. Nevertheless, Looke still has his niche as his excellent penalty defending is superior to that of Baker's, meaning that he still sees the occasional sub. For the most part though, barring injury, it's Roland holding down the fort for the duration of the match.

Nyx Phantasma and Hemera Note are both very effective full-backs and capable wing-backs, although they don't quite match August Armburst's pace and August may occasionally take Nyx's spot while Rayth Lionheart subs in for RM for the occasional hyper-offensive setup. Phantasma and Note have loads of stamina in reserve and are both very aggressive players, with Phantasma being especially proficient at tackling and Note being fully committed to taking possession. Jacqueline Ray sits on the bench on the infrequent occassion that Note is losing pace, but this doesn't really happen in practice under normal conditions. Alongside the full-backs, Myst Magica functions as the team's center-back. She is functional in her position and is similarly aggressive to her fellow defenders. The fact of the matter is she is the best Archalitian for the job. Her substitute, Sophie Ishida, mainly loses the starting position due to her short stature. However, she has an impressive vertical and actually tends to be more capable of winning aerial battles than her fellow CB. Alongside them, Terry Yang is a commanding defender and is fully able to drop back from the midfield to add another center-back to the defense.

Speaking of which, Terry Yang is the smartest player on the team. He has excellent game awareness and is very versatile, regularly functioning as a deep-lying playmaker and has amassed a number of assists since the start of his career. With that being said, Yang is often covering a lot of ground and can occasionally sub out for Oskar Stejskal, an aware and agile defender, when his stamina starts lacking later in the game. The Pirates often push down both flanks rather than through the middle, and no other players symbolize this better than August Armburst and Eloria Mizuki, who both act as wingers in front of the full-backs. August Armburst is incredibly pacey, pushing a sub-10 second 100 meter and being the fastest player on the team. On the other side, Eloria is extremely precise with passing and, while not as fast, is still just as effective as August in supporting the attack. How else does the team support the wings? Duke Sondas, the team captain, characterized by his persistence and creativity, functions effectively for the team as a false ten, drifting out to overwhelm the wings. With his wide range of abilities, this option leaves him many weapons to surprise opposing midfielders.

While on paper, they're wingers, and while in coaching, inverted wingers, the two Micha Sooza and Cynthia Harmonia really are just wing forwards the majority of the time. While playing in the inverted position, they're often overshadowed in goalscoring opportunities by Lyndon Nightmare who is the better finisher. Still, on occasion, these two will cut in and try to score. Still, try as they might, Lyndon is simply better. Nicknamed "The Nightmare," he is a clinical finisher and is the teams resident goalscorer. He is, in practice, a striker, and one of the biggest reasons a new team like this can still break through daunting opponents like Valanora and Nephara, both nations the team has defeated. While Sean Oprah sits on the bench for Nightmare, there is a clear skill-gap between the two players.

Leora's place of birth is noted as Cerrston, when in fact she was born on one of the ships carrying Bostopians to their new home in the Ochres. That it happened to dock in Cerrston, where her family settled, was just luck. Her parents chose a new surname after watching their child take her first furtitive steps outside, wanting to ditch their old Bostopian name. While there is some doubts over her ability to play as an international goalkeeper, her ability to read the game makes up for a lack of height (comparative to other top-flight goalkeepers at least) and fans joke that it seems she knows where the ball will go before the striker does.

The youngest member of the squad, only just turning 16 in time for the first qualifying game, Harry Sandman is the first player in any Ochre national squad to be born on Chaffinch Island. Adopting his surname from his love of running on the beach, he tends to be more of a sweeper than a proper centre half, being able to quickly take care of opponents passes into the box before they cause too much harm. His pace and stamina also allows him to play as a makeshift right wing-back, but his crosses come across as clearances more often than not.

Daniela of the Streamcarers was the oldest player to make their Ochre debut at a major tournament. Whilst the Ochres is making great strides towards equality of the sexes, on a football pitch women are still expected to show they can match the males in strength to play in the male-dominated professional leagues. Thus, whilst having natural defending ability, she has had to work harder than a lot of the men to claim her position within the national defensive group at all. In order to get more playing time and show some of the olds around the national side she is capable, Daniela has had to move away from her clan and is now playing for Miradela GD in Ko-oren.

Featherborn currently plies her trade at right-back for Schemerdrecht SVV, having left her hometown team Louisa Hope F.C. for the Ko-oren side. Complaints from journalists that she could have gone to a team 'easier to spell quickly' exist though are simply batted away as 'whinging'. Pacy and versatile, she is more likely to try and beat her opponent with the ball at her feet rather than pass around them. She already displays a range of passing that could see her propelled into the midfield, whether on the wing or in the middle should her development continue at the pace it is.

Waterton comes from a small hamlet just outside Endwick called 'Waterton', which his father named when he first settled the area and is set on building a new town there. Wanting to stay local and help his family, Waterton has turned down offers from larger clubs to stay with Nottshore Turquoise, who are based on his home island of Handsby.

Amongst a very fit, professional squad, Gorgewalker is probably the fittest player on the team, largely in part due to his enjoyment of walking along the many gorges that make up the Ochre hinterland. Employed as a wing-back by West Bellflower, Gorgewalker displays many fine qualities going forward and in defence.

Louis was born in what was known then as 'New Ranton', which was the name of the capital of the Bostopian Ochre Islands prior to independence. He is one of the better players in Cottsworth's side, who are regular title contenders in the Ochre League Division One.

His mother, a follower of Byerxys and noted soothsayer raised him on her own from young following his father's untimely passing. Sunteller currently plays for Lansdorn, where whilst he makes a good number of appearances from the bench, clearly shows a lot of promise and potential.

Bridgebuilder is the shining star of Bellflower A.U. XI's youth academy and currently plies his trade in the first team in the Ochre First Division. Born on a small island in Cardenao to two Ochre Island parents, he is the first dual-Anaian citizen to play for the Ochre Islands. As well as football, Bridgebuilder also has a strong interest in diplomatic relations and is already tipped for a political career once his still-young playing days are over.

Susana has big shoes to fill, taking the place and number of the Ochres Bostopian-born wonderchild, Blue Gibson. However, this isn't the first time she's been faced with adversity, moving to Cobrio early on as her mother took a job in an international freight firm in Callisto, Hearthlands, who had a lot of trade with the Ochres. She rose through the youth ranks at Heart of Omorfio, then broke into their first team aged only 17. She signed for nearby 'rivals' Callisto City at 18, then moved to Dynapolis United in Cobrio's second city at 21. Surprise has been expressed in some quarters that it's taken Russo this long to catch the eye of the national team, but it won't take anyone in Cobrio by surprise if she shines on this stage.

Twonames plies his trade for his home island team, Juniper Monnstair, and is usually found playing as an inside forward. He joins the Ochre squad looking to break into the national team on a regular basis.

Copse Clearedway was born in Callais, which is on one of the smaller Ochre Islands of Jensee. He is first-choice striker for Slipsway Town, a mid-table side in the first division of domestic Ochre football. However for the Ochre national team, he is more likely to be played in the hole between attack and midfielder to give us a significant threat just outside the area, as well as knowing where a striker would want a ball playing to them.

Rory is the youngest of the Ochre-born players, having been born a mere day or two after his parents reached Kollingdon following their migration to the Ochres from Fenton State. Whilst still largely bench-warming for Valesthorpe, the national team can see his promise and are taking him to CAFA3 in the hopes of giving him international experience in low-pressure situations.

Northbrook is an enterprising striker who usually plays as part of a two-man attack at Bellflower, which is most likely why he is on the bench for the national side.

Despite playing for a smaller Ochre side, sitting in the 4th tier of the football league, C.J. has excelled and proven himself at a high level thanks to helpful cup draws against much better teams projecting his abilities on the national stage. While football at the lower levels is a bit more rough and ready than the higher divisions, he has always been able to hold his own against strong defenders despite his young age, and their willingness to let him know they're there.

Home, Away and Third

The Ochre Islands kits were designed and manufactured by OchreSport, with input from the Ochre Islands Football Association.
The home kit is a traditional striped ochre, blue and white scheme.
The away kit is a simple black and white striped kit.
The third kit is no longer a contiuation of the 'Anaiaway' theme. The Government has decided that promotion of Anaia has ran its course and no longer of interest.
Before CAFA 2, the Ochre Islands Football Association ran a competition to design the team's logo, which was won by a 34 year old man with neither design experience or taste. Fortunately, an update of the design to account for taste was commissioned and outsourced by the OIFA, which is as below. The badge prominently features a 'little mint green hat', which actually commerorates the Ochre Islands victory in the second CAFA tournament.

The Ochre Islands play a possession-based style of football which aims to prevent the opposition from scoring by simply not letting them have the ball. While we will prefer safer passes, the players generally have a good sense of when a chance is 'on' and will play balls with added risk involved where necessary.

Nyowani Kitara National Team

The national team is the country's main symbol that they are a repaired country, one that is moving past the horrors of their Civil War. They have fully established themselves on the international stage, particularly through the World Cup. They've now qualified for the last three World Cups in a row, reaching the semifinals of World Cup 92, while following that up with a respectable Round of 16 finish at World Cup 93.

World Cup 92 was when they really captured hearts and minds of the international community, as they made their own Cinderella Run through the tournament. Their run including a 2-0 win over the eventual world champions, Zwangzug. Some criticized the run, as it had 4 draws- group stage draws against Kelssek and Farfadillis, as well as penalty shootout wins against both TJUN-ia, and Pemecutan. NYK were felled in their rematch against Zwangzug in the World Cup 92 semifinals- but still, an absolutely shocking run for them to get there.

It was not a fluke- them winning two games at World Cup 93, before going down to the co-hosts, Chromatika, in the Round of 16 proved to the nation that they are a power in this sport. And that final translated on the regional stage- they bid to bring the 43rd Copa Rushmori to home soil, which they did so successfully. And it was successful on the pitch as well- making a shocking and stunning run all the way to the regional semifinals, in route to claiming a 3rd place crown. Now having reached both a World Cup semifinal and a Copa Rushmori semifinal in recent years, this team believes that can stand amongst the best of the best in world football- and look forward to proving this at World Cup 94.

Unfortunately for them, despite being ranked in the top 10 of the KPBs, they did not qualify for World Cup 94- getting behind in the group early by winning only 1 of their first 6, and even a run that reached 13 wins in a row not enough to get them back to the Finals. Brookstation beat them in the final game of Qualifying, 1-0, to qualify for their first ever World Cup berth, and then in the playoff, Sylestone beat them by the same exact scoreline on a neutral pitch to qualify for their first ever World Cup berth.

Wang Jiahui
- Wang is a mobile forward most at home as a penalty-box predator, but who also loves playing on the right wing and cutting inside to unleash long-range shots. Wang Jiahui was once conisdered the next big thing in Yue football. While his footballing talent remains, his diehard support for Ren Qiang's doomed socialist regime in Yuezhou turned him into a POW and a fugitive in the newly-established United Republics, and so he had to go abroad. Finding a home in Mytanija, he's risen to stardom with the opportunity focus solely on club football, with Litala '93. But he's itching to get back into international duty. Wang Jiahui, as a supporter of Ren Qiang, was also a very loud supporter of President Nafuna Akongo during the civil war. He even held a fundraiser for the KPWC in the early stages of the war, when it looked as if the Kitara Revolutionary Forces would collapse. Therefore, without a country, the President reached out, and gave him an award for 'special services to the state'. She also, surprisingly, gave him citizenship- a unique power of the President in the Kitaran Constitution. Despite diplomatic protests and strong protests from other FAs, as he is a Kitaran citizen, he is eligible to represent Nyowani Kitara in international competition- so his compatriot, Liang Wei, has called him up.

Kamzuni Chinwemwe
- A refugee to Banija as a result of the civil war, he has finally done what nobody has expected him to do- earned a callup to play for his country. Previously banished, on a functional level, from national team duty as a result of his anti-Akongo views, Liang Wei has finally invited him to play for the national team, in recognition of Muhoozi Kulan's ascension to the Presidency. While the remaining defectors from the World Cup 90 Qualification cycle seem unlikely to ever play for the national team ever again, Chinwemwe's call-up will only serve to further strengthen Liang Wei's position as the most powerful man in sport in NYK.

The playmaker is very talented, but also inconsistent- he has games where he lits the world on fire, and you're wondering why he doesn't play for a team like Raynor City United. Then, the next game, you're wondering how he got out of the third division. He can do it all- pass, dribble, shoot, etc... But he is very prone to fail spectacularly. Can he earn consistent playing time for the national team here as they chase for their first ever piece of silverware?

Arvid Handsdotter
[M/He/Him] Hansdotter is being called the future of Kitaran football. While, of course, there is always some hyperbole with declarations like that from countries that are new to this, he impressed in league play in Nyowani Kitara as one of the league's most consistent players, even at his young age. While his effort defending varies wildly, he's got a laser focus when going forward. He can pin point passes, and moves well without the ball to help pull apart defenses. Almost everybody agrees that he's good enough to start for the NYK national team- however, his vocal support of Osterlander independence left him blackballed from the national team. But with a new government, Liang Wei, with an eye towards making limited concessions so KWFA power isn't stripped away from him, has brought Hansdotter to the forefront for the national team.

Story

Cap Nord only starts their third World Cup campaign but enters the race with a new manager, the third one already. The Whalers might still be new faces on the international scene but have gone through their first teething pains, that is clear. They emerged under Forseth with whom they, despite taking their first steps, won a BoF bronze medal and got an impressive 61.6% point percentage. The few losses came more often than not against sides featuring in the World Cup. As such, results could not be used as the excuse to give the charismatic and outspoken Forseth the boot but ‘differences concerning the way forward’ were used to part ways. A few days later, in silence, Robert McEather was installed as the new manager of the national team.

A surprise as his history only features a few stints in the lower leagues. But, possibly more importantly, he has an NUP member card. Needless to say that the takeover of the latter party and the installation of a puppet kingdom had its impact on the foundations of society. The newcomer was shunned by the fans for his lack of knowledge and struggled to handle the stars in his selection, not in the least youngsters Simon Carstensen and Jorgen Bjerkness. After a full cycle, an exhausted McEather threw the towel. The load of the position had been too much to carry, the narrative reads, but he signed off with a 68.1% scorecard, a stunning Campionato silver and coming within goal difference of a WC play-off, so history might be kinder on Robert McEather.

The length of the decision making by the FA for a successor led to speculation: all major names of the league made an appearance in the press but most pointed to Van Nooten, a composed and sympathetic fellow without a lot of first-team experience but with a good connection with the squad, having been the assistant under Forseth and McEather. But Van Nooten remained in that role as the FA landed on 54-year old Lozhoan Pazron Finchley. A surprise to the Capnordic fans, but the former center-back earned his stripes with Langhan Town, Lozho U21 and Protchen United. Despite winning prizes as player and coach with the latter, Finchley was disposed unceremoniously there: his move abroad was inspired by a hunger to prove them wrong.

As the results are already on the right track, it suits that Finchley starts from a similar game plan as his predecessors: 4-3-3. But contrary to those before him, there will be a high pressing, giving whole new tasks to the offensive players and even more importance to the energetic wingbacks. And whatever the game plan, it goes without saying that targetman and goalgetter Myrrheim plays a crucial role. A known issue for Cap Nord is the depth of the squad, but Finchley’s U21 experience should stimulate him to give chances to a new wave of players and get more rotation in the squad. The Cup of Harmony, in which the football was hopeful if not for the final game collapse against Aleirave, showed that Finchley has a plan and the dressing room on his side.

The Campionato confirmed this, but unexpected losses against Racing and Natanians & Nosts made clear that the room for error is limited: more consistency, both across and within a game, is needed. During the World Cup, the job of Finchley has been on the line a few times as the results were mixed: decent games were swapped with lacklustre performances, seeing Cap Nord collapse in the second half. But a string of unexpected triumphs against Saint Eleanor, Brenecia and Polar Islandstates kept the Lozhoan in the saddle and in a mind-boggling finish, Cap Nord jumped from 6th to 3rd on the final MD to clinch a play-off spot. In those play-offs, Cassadaigua proved far too strong, but it offered some consolation to reach the Cup of Harmony for the third time in succession.

Between the stakes, it is Johannes Marzinn who cemented his position, proving his value by keeping Cleorough afloat in the Toilet League after a title-winning season with Sielhafen 1.FC. Still fairly young, he is not the most eloquent and needs to grow in leadership, but his Cup of Harmony game against Valentine Z showed that ‘Clutch’ Marzinn is the right man for the job. This puts veteran Leuwert on the bench, a modest and fine shotstopper with excellent reflexes but mediocre feet. His proverbial goalkeeper craziness limits itself to an unusual interest in pottery and ceramics. In Draiewikum, he’s a legend but he seems a bit past his peak. This opens up opportunities for other keepers in case of a Marzinn absence. First and foremost, there is Thom McEnroy who lives up to the expectations at Fallwich and possesses a good balance between his skills on the line and footballing intuition: his first cap is overdue.

The back four have been the quiet engine into a Campionato medal performance so no wonder that Finchley has little need or desire to shake up things. Captain van Hilvaren looks classy and is at face value an elegant central defender from the Sporting academy. That means: impeccably dressed, precise passing, lots of cunning and a bit of complaining with the referee. But if needed, he can be a cunt and as his speed wanes, his trickery grows. To his side, there is rising star Luuk Vennema who made (a few years later than expected) his big breakthrough. It clinched him a transfer to the Tumbran Premier Division, where he continues to improve. He is a commanding player who can run his defensive line, a true understudy to his big example van Hilvaren. In due time, Vennema will have to become the lead defender as van Hilvaren is in his last cycle. It is hard to look past these two especially as ‘Jonho’ Peary lost his spot in the selection. The unspectacular but reliable Glenn Pedersen picks up the reserve role, he rarely makes waves but shows with Sandfjell that he is a man of few mistakes.

The wings, so crucial in this system, remain a cause of worry as the lack of depth is a major issue, but the starters are valued. Left wing, ‘Pencil’ Brymsaeter (after his feet, build, mustache and prose) remains a great source for attacking intentions. The Sporting player looks more like a violinist than a football player. Nonetheless, he is without remorse and can pick up a goal here or there. His artistic vibe causes some question marks among the staunchly right-wing government but the lack of alternatives keeps him on board. Opposite man Troels Poulsen, on the other hand, actively contributed to the ‘popular uprising/military coup’ (pending on whose word you take for it). But Poulsen is not just a political pawn and possesses style and energy. As he can take a card, finding back-up for him was necessary but difficult. Out of options domestically for wingbacks, it was even inquired whether Brenecian Athame Caulker already qualified for a passport. In the end, the choice fell on O’Sullivan. Crester’s Pat is fast and has a good cross, but remains fluky in positioning. On the left, young talent Siebe Moersleutel is a hidden gem: his move to Patriotlandia proved to be a next step on an interesting trajectory and the follow-up for Brymsaeter is assured.

If the recent past made one thing clear, it is that the abundance of talent between Simon Carstensen and Jorgen Bjerkness has the potential to pop, but only if they can be aligned on and off the pitch. Amid the various options, Finchley seems to opt for a setup which moves both the duo a bit further from one another, giving each their chance to shine: Carstensen remains firmly in midfield, Bjerkness becomes part of the attacking department. And as such, Carstensen remains the lynchpin for the Whalers. The Sandfjell midfielder already became the playmaker of this top-three side at seventeen and continues to show amazing maturity. He is quite industrious for his role, with excellent vision and passing. The only thing missing from his game might be a few more goals. He can also appear a bit lower down the field, contrary to his back-up Hella Veensma who combines energy with insight and short turns. Two years with Sielhafen has given her already some experience to reap the yield on her efforts and her (only proverbial) growth is undoubted. Moving to Pesfield Trees remains an ace decision for her. The deep roster also has 'Max' Dahl but this high-potentials needs to lose a bit of naivety to carry a national team, but he can add a spark in the final minutes.

Behind Carstensen, the balancing is picked up by the duo Bissett and Barnes. Theodor Bissett used to struggle to make the line-up but returned under Finchley as box-to-box: he is a man with energy, stamina and more than decent feet. If he can employ those at the right time, he is a potential world beater. Next to him, Carl Worbe lost his starting spot as holding midfielder, but he still has a few good years in him. He made a personal brand out of being boring, allowing 1. FC fans to call a characteristic, simple, 1-0 win a 'Worbe Dream'. This opened up an opportunity for Jody Barnes to start and star. Jody brings a bit more grit, a ton of energy and an amazing 360 vision which makes you forget about the occasional bad touch. In difficult games, Finchley might prefer the unconventional Breuker over Barnes: the United man shows no mercy and is notorious for bullying an opposing playmaker out of the game. Bissett, on the other hand, might be relieved of his work by Barrington or Worbe. The former is a Bissett-light, with less stamina but slightly better feet. It is interesting to see if Emilie Gronseth, the revelation of SK last season, can pick up playing minutes: she compares to Worbe in being spectacularly unspectacular but efficient.

It is a peculiar attacking trio as Finchley clearly has a different target here: one big man, two smaller players who attack the defensive line with the sting of a bee, without being wingers. Up front, one finds Till Myrrheim, a likable two meters of unfiltered firepower, with a babyface on top. A gentle giant outside the game, Myrrheim shuns no duel and weighs on an opposing defense. The numbers speak for itself, if you let the Sandfjell ace come anywhere near the box, you are putting yourself in grave danger. Despite ‘Till Torrheim’ being the topscorer, the player that everyone on the playing ground wants to be is Rohan Williams. After all, he is in all aspects a beautiful footballer. Makes the covers of the sports section with his dribbles, of the newspapers with his podcast and of the tabloids with his flirts and cars. This striker drifts between the wing and the box and somehow only scores marvelous goals. His new challenge in Nephara gives the domestic fans fewer chances to witness the most inspiring (and cheeky) player of the selection, but he starred in the Cup of Harmony.

Under Finchley, Jorgen Bjerkness rounds up the attacking trio. The talent of Fort Viljan had to show his skills coming off the bench in the previous World Cup qualifiers but still played a pivotal role in the results with a few decisive goals and assists. Originally an attacking midfielder, he will be making use of the spaces between defenders and midfielders with his movement and great first touch. You can also expect minutes for ‘Danny’ Clark, who can’t get into the line-up despite consistently good performances. A lanky forward who scores with ease, Clark possesses the football IQ to pop up where he is needed. The Noordende signing can be sole striker, but also operates close to Myrrheim, living off the balls that get pumped into that direction. The remaining options are best characterized as role players. If Cap Nord finds themselves pinned to their own half, they can throw in lightning bolt Sangaré, but you have to make sure he uses the ball before running out of bounds. ‘The Jacker’ Jackson surpassed Fraser as the back-up for Myrrheim: his lack in style gets made up for in goals and work rate. Ideal for when ‘dirty’ is the only road left. Young kid Tofte showed she's more than fast with Lydholm and could earn more moments in the national shirt. There will be more of that in the future.

Situated in the planned (but failed) capital of Huftstad, the Mies van Moerstadion can welcome a bit over twelve thousand fans. It is a modern, functional arena but lacks soul: it is named after the dullest of prime ministers in Cap Nord’s modern history. For the opponents, this might be the place they want to play if they want to evade the strong support from the fans of the Whalers. But they will have to take the mind numbing design and the lack of hotspots for the visiting fans with that advantage.

The home of the Whalers for the home games against the two highest pots will be the most elaborate and new football stadium in the country. The SendBank Arena combines a clean look and feel with a decent atmosphere and should have been the stadium for all games, if the FA had not been fueled by some weird ambition to spread the games around the country. Stennköping suits the image of the stadium: a bit dull at first sight but more character than often given credit for.

Two important games for the ambition of Cap Nord will take place in the Feltdistrikt. The stadium, with its typical ‘blocky’ look might come across a bit threatening for visiting teams due to the small pitch and the stands being near the touchline. It needs a bit of refurbishing to last longer but as the home stadium of playmaker Carstensen, you can expect the crowds to overlook the loose stones and enjoy the game. Quite notorious for the ‘third half’ with a row of bars across the street of the stadium.

The largest stadium in terms of volume is the Stade des Marais in Isbècque which allows thirty thousand fans to follow a game under the stars. It is dilapidated with rotten concrete and the only reason it was picked must be the receipt. But the local fans will enjoy not seeing second tier football for once and are notorious for their pyrotechnics. If the game allows so, you could well see sparks on the pitch as well as the Stade has a tendency to make its appearance in exciting games.

We will wrap up the campaign in the J.T. Berkley Stadium. ‘The Berk’ is a bit peculiar due to the dichotomy between the modern west stand (plastic seats in the club colors, clean bars and fire safe exits) and the cozy but rather outdated east stand (wooden benches, little semi-illegal food stands left and right, death traps in the design). The away fans are usually pushed into a separate, comically small and high stand behind the goal. A stadium that breathes home advantage, in part due to the minute dressing room for the visitors.

The Emperor had made the briefest of reintroductions, which he felt fairly happy with, brought his outstretched arms back in and placed them on his hips, before tilting his head up and turning it left whilst waiting for the cries of adoration from around the room.

He waited.

And waited.

And waited some more.

''Scuse me' came a thick Emberton accent as a a refreshments trolley was wheeled in beside him, knocking into his left arm and ruining his pose somewhat.

He rubbed his elbow and turned his head back towards the rest of the delegates and studied them. Cardenao's President Mihaly was studying the Emperor, though also had one eye on the cocktail menu. The Huayramarcans clearly had more important things to be thinking about, not too unlike those from Ko-oren, who were flicking through the agenda for the conference trying to find out whether this was an expected delay and in any event what the next item on the agenda was. The Krytenians looked surprised at best and at worst horrified, which was at least something. One of them then ran out of the room past the Emperor, which he assumed was because they were so giddy with excitement they were about to wet themself. The delegates from Mertagne still just looked happy to be there, though at least one of them waved at him (a little nervously if anything) which the Emperor responded to perhaps too enthusiastically. Meanwhile, Edward Swaithe, presumably no longer the Foreign Minister of The Republic and Community of Ochre Islands, but of the reborn Bostopian Anaian
Territory of Ochre Islands, stood and applauded as beside him, Lucille Buckley (Ochre Minister for Anaian Affairs) snarled unseen at Swaithe.

Seeing as the herald of trumpets wasn't arriving, and confetti wasn't about to fall from the ceiling, the Emperor simply stuck his hands in his pockets, looked rather dejected then turned and left. A few eyes turned to the Ochre Island delegation, but quickly returned to speaking amongst themselves.

'This is treachery, Swaithe' Buckley hissed under her breath. 'I'm sorry?' Swaithe responded, still wearing his smirk. 'You're meant to be loyal to The Duke. And here you are applauding that charlatan off the tele.' 'Oh, Lucille' Edward replied with faux empathy 'we're in no position to throw words like treachery around at anyone are we?' He flicked the Ochre flag pin-badge on Lucille's jacket lapel to emphasise his point. 'This isn't how you were meant to behave!' Lucille snapped at him, swiftly switching pin-badges as she did so. 'No, Lucille, and what exactly will you do about it?' That was all Lucille needed to hear. 'Shall I inform the Duke?'

'No need' came a voice before there was a clatter as plates fell to the floor as a cupboard door was opened onto the refreshments trolley. 'For it is I!' He cried. 'The Duke!'

Crazy Craig's Café de Koroa', Koroa City

Emperor Boston sat at a table on his own, sadly stirring his seventh spoonful of sugar into his coffee, still searching for a bit of attention. His trusted aide was nowhere to be seen, and his triumphant return hadn't gone to plan. By now he was meant to have been parading through Koroa City as one by one each Anaian nation had bowed down to him and formally signed away their sovereignty. He'd even had little flags made up for each of them as they slotted in underneath the Bostopian Crown.

Nothing could make this day worse.

'No need' came a voice from the door to the café. 'There's a table over there I'm happy to join.' The Emperor looked up 'I'm not happy to-' 'Of course!' Cried The Duke, interrupting the Emperor. 'We'll need a second placemat. Thank you.'

The Duke pulled his chair out across the floor, not bothering to lift the legs so it scraped painfully across the tiles, causing the Emperor to grimace, then sat down on the chair and tucked himself in under the table by bunny-hopping two or three times, knocking the table with his last effort causing some of the Emperor's coffee to spill out of his drink and across the tablecloth. The Emperor sighed.

The Duke, meanwhile, stared across the table at the Emperor with a huge grin on his face. 'An honour to meet you!' Cried The Duke, which was his third favourite way of describing how he spoke. Before he could continue, a waitress came over.

'Here's your Pollo de Crazy Craig's, Mr. Emperor' she told him, putting a plate of chicken and rice down in front of him, causing some of the coffee The Duke spilled to be displaced and start heading dangerously close to the edge of the table. 'Couple of sauces for you too. Dolce and diablo, a local favourite'' the waitress told him, placing the two pots between the Emperor and The Duke. 'Thank you' the Emperor said, managing a half smile.

He was about to take a bite when The Duke spoke again. 'I was convinced you were just off the tele, but here you are. How incredible!' The Emperor sighed. 'All that was real!' He snapped. 'Weren't you briefed? It actually happened! You dip-' 'I dip! Of course!' The Duke took the Emperor's fork off him and practically bathed the piece of chicken the Emperor was about to eat in one of the sauces on the table. 'Here you are!' He cried. 'Open up! Choo-choo!' The Emperor opened his mouth to protest but instead found it full of chicken. 'Actually' he said between mouthfuls 'quite good'. 'But-' his face turned red 'it's- oh god- did you- milk- milk now'.

His day, it turned out, could get worse, and not being able to find a deep enough fountain to bathe in in an attempt to cool down was just the start.

Flodden Farm, Sunset Coast, Handsby Island

'The Scoutwork, Ruby, now.' Ruby understood at times like this why Willow had rose through the political ranks at lightning pace. She was understandably quite shook up at the news coming from Ochre Councils on the eastern islands, yet her voice remained calm and clear, with a force behind her words that was clearly a gift from the Ochre Gods.

'Willow, are you sure this is wise?' Ruby asked, though she still headed through the kitchen towards the front door. 'I can't save anyone in the East' Willow replied, taking Ruby's coat off the coatstand for her and retrieving the car keys whilst she did so. 'If Bostopia's attacking the eastern islands, and the Project are telling you we've had troops land a few miles down the road from here, then I've got to do something.' Willow opened the front door of Ruby's farmhouse and stared up at the sky, which stared back at her visions of only greys and blacks, as the ground shook once more to remind her that it too was alive as well. Ruby came running out of the farm house still pulling her coat on, throwing a spare raincoat to Willow who up until now had forgotten it was raining, her mind full of thoughts about anything other than herself as the linens she was wearing slowly became damp with rainwater.

Ruby had walked around the car by now and put the key in the lock in the door and turned it, which unlocked the door on the passenger side at the same time, allowing Willow to open it and climb up to the seat of the dark green 4x4, the hydrogen engine already running with the familiar noise of a 'traditional' combustion engine by the time she had clicked her seatbelt into position. Ruby pulled her hood down from on top of her head and put the car into automatic mode, not anticipating she'd need manual gears whilst driving down paved roads. '35 minutes to Oaktree I'd guess' Ruby said out loud to everyone and no-one. Willow remained quiet, staring pensively out of the window.

Here on Handsby, everything seemed normal - almost too normal - whilst the eastern islands were falling to the night as invading troops spread their particular brand of darkness.

After what felt like hours though in reality was tens of minutes, the hotels and resorts of Oaktree were just about visit against the thick blackness of the Sunset Sea beyond the town. Still, the illuminated Ochre and Mertagnian flags still flying above the centre of the roundabout on the outskirts of town, straining majestically against the wind to stay on their flagpoles gave some hope that there was still some light somewhere. A radio in Ruby's car crackled into life. 'Quercia squillo to approaching vehicle. Half click half tone. Leaf leaf sky. Stop if compliance not possible. Over and out.'

Willow glanced over. She didn't understand all of Project Alouette's codewords. 'They're asking me to switch half the lights on my roofbar before we've gone 500 metres' she began, slowing down a little and flicking buttons on the panel above the windscreen. 'They're expecting to see two green and one blue light as we pass their checkpoint, which is… here'. Willow looked out the window but didn't see anything out of the ordinary, just some cafés and small stores typical of the main road into a resort. 'They're out there, Willow. You might not have seen them but had we failed to pass their test - well, you wouldn't have known about it. We might not have made it another 100 metres but there's a good chance that the car - or pieces of it at least - would have done. If I didn't understand then the option to stop was there. It's likely at this point they have Oaktree surrounded and it'll stay that way til we know what's going on.' 'And then…?' 'Either the talking stops and the shooting starts, or the shooting starts or the talking stops and it's a branch of the Project who've forgotten to check in or something.'

Ruby's radio started speaking again 'Rubino. Foreign troops are in the Momument restaurant… Can you confirm your passenger? Over.' Ruby grabbed the radio handset from the centre console between her and Willlow. 'Rubino here. Passenger is the Prime Minister. What do you have for us? Over.' There was silence for longer than either of them expected. 'The PM?' silence 'Over.' 'Affirmative. What do you have for us? Over.' The officers in the Project wanted to ask more questions but now wasn't the time, as Ruby's 4x4 navigated its way down litter-strewn streets and past tourists fighting their way through the wind back to their rooms, with most of them still in their beachwear. 'Foreign troops have landed and we've got reinforcements inbound to help assess. Wouldn't recommend going much further. Over.' Willow took hold of the handset herself now. 'Appreciate the concern. I am not having more foreign troops swanning about whilst my blood remains inside my body, understand? We all go and find out, or you can retreat to your hiding holes. Over!'

Willow slammed the handset down. Someone had held the talk button down on the other end, allowing the briefest of cheers to be heard and the sound of more vehicles starting up. 'On our way ma'am. Over.' Ruby had pulled up three quarters of a mile from the resort by this point and had been taking stock of light levels, which were quickly fading. She climbed into the back of her car and threw camouflage gear over to her empty front seat. 'Trousers, jacket… what shoe size were you Willow?' 'A five.' 'Same as me, that helps' she said, throwing a pair of thick sand-coloured socks quite purposefully at her old friend, before placing a set of lightly coloured boots down on the same seat as the rest of the gear. 'I'll ger changed in the back' she told Willow, before pulling the Ochre-styled 'multicam-patterned' jacket on over what the shirt she had been wearing and swapping her shorts for the 'multicam' trousers, before the socks and boots came on as well, finishing up about the same time as Willow. She reached over toward the front seats and pulled what looked like makeup sticks out of a small compartment near the drinks holder of the car, before applying what turned out to be camouflage paints to her face, before passing them over to Willow who did the same, though aided by the passenger mirror rather than muscle memory. Ruby opened a cabinet bolted down to the bed of the Scoutwork and pulled out two sidearms, both revolvers. 'Willow' she said softly, causing her friend to turn and look, casually draping an arm over the back of the benchseat of the car as she did so. Wordlessly, Ruby pushed a revolver into her open hand and raised her eyebrows. 'It's loaded. Take this belt and holster the weapon.'

Willow held up the revolver and studied it. 'Ruby I'm not sure how happy the Mother and Father would be if I fired a weapon on their lands.' 'Would they be happier if you bled all over it without firing a shot in defiance?' 'Probably not…' 'You'll save nothing and lose everything, Willow. At least get used to the feel of it.'

Ruby opened the back door of the Scoutwork and climbed out, just as three more vehicles turned their lights and engines off and glided silently down the street toward the hotel, slowly coming to a halt. Willow stepped out the car, her hair still making her recognisable even if the rest of her was a far sight away from the polished image usually seen on posters and the television. She looked at the Cardenaoese-issued rifles being carried by the Project members and frowned. 'How many of these fell off the back of a lorry whilst you were supposedly on holiday?' She asked. 'Only one or two, ma'am' one braver member whispered. 'We nicked the rest while they weren't looking.' Willow sighed. The Project remained helpful allies even if they were quietly quite dubious. She remembered one of the 'old boys' had apparently died on a beach in Cardenao on holiday when in reality he died on a flight prior to a parachute jump and was still pushed out the plane, to give him 'one last jump'. Best not to mention that to the Cardenaoese when she finally got in touch with them. Still, she found herself shaking her head, before it had a dark beret pushed down onto it.

'Right. Onwards to the Momument - hop this wall and we'll creep through the gardens til we get there.'

One by one, each member of the team clambered over the wall, before they were all over. Willow and Ruby carried their sidearms and the rest of them carried the contraband rifles. They wouldn't be a match for a force of professional, well-armed and trained soldiers, but there was at least a chance they could at least take one or two of them out before they died for their country. They approached through the gardens of the hotel, sticking to the unlit parts and trying to avoid the cacti as best they could, though one or two tears in their uniforms were impossible to avoid. They stopped near the front car port and assessed the situation.

'Looks like they're all in the lobby having a nice chat' the brave man from earlier whispered. 'We'll pincer them' replied Captain Shoreswait. Half of you head around the back.' Willow stayed with those near the front, then squinted at the uniforms of the men in the lobby. 'Follow me' she ordered, standing up. 'Ma'am I don't think-' 'I have the Mother and Father with me, Captain' Willow told them, her devout beliefs not failing her now, 'I'll be more than alright.' Shoreswait tried to protest, but all he could do was watch his Prime Minister confidently walking forward toward the lobby doors. 'Ma'am!' he called, scrambling to his feet as the doors opened.

'Who' she asked, putting one hand on her hip and the other near her holstered revolver 'are you?' A squad full of soldiers turned and looked toward her. 'Because this is my country and I don't remember sending out invites to foreign troops.'

Acastanha or Federation of Acastanha is a country located in Sol Peninsula at the northeast part of Main island in Mandalanusa. It has a land border with Kieraha to the southwest and Sendhang to its south. It is a developing country with agriculture and some mining as their main income. CPO is the country's largest export commodity followed by timber.

In the world of sports, Acastanha started their international debut by entering 5th Melayu Archipelago Cup. They were managed to advance to quarterfinal but they were stopped by Belfitz. Over the course of the competition, they are always managed to qualify to the knockout stage. But they often ended up in the quarterfinal. Their best performance was reaching the final stage in 2 ocassions. First in the 10th edition where they were defeated by Eraman. And the second was in the 12th edition. At the later, they success to win their first trophy both in the competition and the team history.

In the international competition, Acastanha senior football team debuts at Baptism of Fire 74 before continuing to the World Cup. They have entered 7 times in the World Cup Cycle and never advance to the main competition. They success to break into play-off in WCQ 92 just to be defeated by Drawkland in a penalty shootout. They were also invited to Cup of Harmony. Their best result was Round 32 which they reached in 82nd and 83rd edition. However, their performance has recently decline. They failed to reached play-off in WCQ 93 and they continue to exit earlier in Cup of Harmony after the 83rd edition. This situation is contradictory with their regional achievement.

Estádio da Unidade Nacional is a new stadium built by the government of Acastanha. It is located in the country's capital, Amarelda. It is part of Complexo Desportivo Nacional de Amarelda. The sport complex is established with the help from Pemecutan investor in part of strengthening the relationship of both nations. The stadium is intended to be use by Acastanha national football team as a replacement of the regional stadium which was used before. Estádio Nacional de Arra and Estádio Estadual de Palidas.

First Team and Tactics

Raised on lumpy grass pitches, waterlogged and potholed, Brenecian footballers tend to grow physical, disciplined and tough to break down, and this iteration of the national pool is no exception. The Patriots are an athletic, muscular side with plenty of pace and power, with two unpredictable, top-class wingers in Byrne and Wake who are given plenty of freedom so long as they do their work in pressing high. Camden is a loyalist at heart and rarely differs from the blueprint, but knows when the time is right to shake things up tactically or in terms of personnel, and her defensive drilling is exceptional.

Too predictable in the old 4-4-2, Brenecia have shifted to a front three in order to let the creative talent of Lienke Covolan back into the side, a sullen and bitter Nephar who disliked former manager Wright personally but responds well to Camden and to her other Nepharan brethren (Kearney, Jeong and Alderwood). This is a physical Brenecia side but, Lofthouse and the centre-halves aside, not an overly tall one; they'll look to exploit pace on the counter more than slinging in high balls. They aren't interested in holding onto possession, and are more comfortable letting the opposition overreach and taking advantage.

Common Substitutes
- Lofthouse will often replace Stokes late in games, with an advantage in height and raw physicality; she may even start when Brenecia expect to have almost none of the ball, against teams like Farfadillis
- Alternatively, if ahead, Murdoch will replace Stokes to make a nuisance of himself and protect the lead
- Skaidrina Briggs will often be booked, and Cathal Reventas will come on where necessary to help shore up the defence.
- The wingers have to do a lot of running, so Alderwood and Wakering, while some degree below the standards of their replacements, will be common sights late in games.
- Overweight and one-footed, Rourke will frequently be swapped out for Meskela, the significantly more dynamic Kearney, or perhaps Sitko if Brenecia just need to keep the ball

She's turned down the Patriots job plenty of times in the past, but now, at 61, she recognises the time is right.

Tall, athletic and reliable, Meade might be the pick of the slim bunch of up-and-coming Brenecian stoppers. Seeing a neverending wave of hotshot foreign goalkeepers arrive at Kingsgrove, she felt she had to leave to make a name for herself, but the club's still left its mark on her as a high-sweeping shot-stopper with excellent distribution.

A taciturn, reliable goalkeeper, far below the level of Brenecia's genuine stars but at least providing a degree of stability behind a defence that's badly needed it. She'll make the saves expected of her.

An emerging prospect in goal with good reflexes and exceptional distribution. But Novikovas is resoundingly unlikely to see the pitch, and their arrival is, as much as anything, symbolic.

A minuscule 'pocket rocket' of a fullback, hair flying as she races down the flank. Crashes into tackles and generally makes a nuisance of herself, but she's supposedly level-headed and mature off the pitch.

Culpepper looks strangely weathered, a lot older than her years, and perhaps that makes sense. Her best attributes are her sense of anticipation and her intelligence, which extend her fair-but-indifferent physicality and technique as far as they can go.

A journeyman brawler who just can't be put down for long. Wheater's all but unstoppable in the air and has a decent pace on the ground, but he's not one to be trusted with the ball at his feet.

The son of iconic Quebecois centre-half Hye-Min Jeong, born and raised in Nephara, almost nobody in Brenecia expected Jeong to declare for the Patriots; nevertheless, this has happened, and early signs are that Jeong could be a mainstay in the Patriots' back line for a decade. Calm and intelligent on the ball, uncompromising in the tackle, fast in recovery.

17 - RB - Caomhin Hadley (

Sabrefell Athletic) - Age 27 - 62 caps, 1 goal
A hard-bitten, tough-tackling but above all painfully disciplined fullback. Hadley puts his head down and gets the job done; he's never been considered one of Athletic's better players, and yet he's played in two Champions League finals for a reason, once on the winning side. Even at the highest level, you can simply rely on him not to fuck up.

A pugnacious, bruising defender, the kind who makes his presence known on and off the ball. Always niggling with fouls, always whispering something in the ear, and with a sharp sense of anticipation to rarely be turned or made a fool of.

Another of the Nepharan legion, Kearney's bought in owing to her personal loyalty to Erin Camden. A fearless midfielder with impeccable close control and an intense, focused personality, Kearney often clashes with those around her, but always with a view to improvement.

Short and overweight, with no right boot to speak of, no interest in tracking back, Rourke is a proper throwback player. Because Brenecia only rarely get unambiguous stars. Rourke might not be outpacing the goalkeepers in a straight sprint, but she more than makes up for it with her God-given, finely-honed ability to strike a ball perfectly. Let her into your heart, and you'll fall in love.

A versatile and disciplined midfielder; one of Camden's favourites, someone she sees herself in. Cheschon is a proper 'litmus test' footballer; if you think he's unimpressive, you don't understand the game. If you can see him gluing the midfield together, get your coaching badges.

Tall, powerful and uncompromising in the tackle, Reventas has earned his corn helping a dominant Union side bully all-comers in the A-League. International football can be a very different beast, but his ability is appreciated nonetheless. Pace is his only weak point, and his anticipation papers over it well.

Sitko's not notably physical, but just has that quiet presence of mind and always goes looking for the ball. The kind of player analysts love and casuals don't see the point in and wonder why the team works better with him than without.

A Nephar with a Brenecian grandfather, plucked with the time-honoured method of finding an odd surname, and while something of a long shot, he's hoping to kick on after struggles at Zenith level and build a career for himself. Well-rounded and athletic, a natural, powerful spearhead.

10 - LW - Katua Byrne (

AC Izotz Zubia) - Age 29 - 137 caps, 40 goals
Byrne's got it all. Top-class pace, fully two-footed, even relishes defensive work pressing high. She's going to go far, and she knows it, forcing a move to Audioslavia at an early age to get away from pockmarked Brenecian pitches, and since then she's only gone from strength to strength. Probably Brenecia's best left winger of all time.

13 - ST - Mor-Rioghain Stokes (

Mountainside) - Age 27 - 54 caps, 24 goals
Stokes was considered good enough that the MiCF project, a rare case of a tail wagging a dog, decided to near-bankrupt the side trying to get Stokes on the nominally male-only league. She has the air of someone mystified she isn't one of the world's best; perhaps, with a less bumpy career trajectory, she might have been up there. An instinctive goalscorer with a good range of attributes and the right mentality to constantly battle back from the brink.

15 - RW / LW - Maerhen Wake (

1830 Cathair) - Age 27 - 82 caps, 24 goals
A muscular powerhouse who bristles with coiled energy, menace and malice. Wake's not the best-liked in the dressing room - he's always come across a bit as the kind of man who laughs when old ladies fall over on the street - but he's a cold model professional who always looks to make an impact. At present, along with Byrne, he's the side's obvious star.

16 - LW - Irina Alderwood (

Mipojoseon) - Age 26 - 24 caps, 4 goals
An effective, athletic winger who lacks a real X-Factor; not a shining talent, but rather a player who has made it close to the top of the game through hard work and a relentless drive. Qualifies for Brenecia through ancestry.

21 - ST - Jadwiga Lofthouse (

Yassaca) - Age 30 - 99 caps, 36 goals
Generally, when Union want a player, they just get one. So when a local rises through the ranks to break through, especially in a key position and at a young age, Brenecians take notice. A towering juggernaut, Lofthouse is certainly old-school but undeniably effective, and excels at helping bring others into play. Often maligned for her profligate finishing, but her goals tend to come at critical moments; that century of caps is no fluke.

During the final woes of the World Cup Qualification series, Azayo jCarvên was offered a lucrative position as a manager of the #2 club of the Ajurton League, the Axátan Dheltier. Considering the (relatively) disappointing qualification results, his departure was not mourned too long - during his stay as coach, he led the Drills to an impressive 4th place position in the qualification series, followed by a round of 16 finish in the following Cup of Harmony - but since then, the results have sunk, only reaching a 5th place in the qualifier series for World Cup 94. All in all, while it was apparent that jCarvên was moving on, the search for a new manager still had to begin. Though there was no true candidate for the position; the choice for André Quae-Hackél was unanimously approved by the board of the NAPÉ, as well as the talkshow hosts. While he might lack a showcase full of awards and prizes like jCarvên has, he's a seasoned veteran of the sport, and has certainly proven to be worth his salt, with high finishing club results in the Uanq Égnann, Parzhinia's top division.

With three attackers, there is room for Lio Trofois once more; he's been called a teddy bear before, and he will be again. And how could you not? A player like him was born to be shooting set-up balls into the box, and it's unfair that the staggering 12 assists he's amassed over time aren't in the stat-box. Gary Goppré is a true hero of the Drills; all the kids want to be like him! And for good reason, as he's the absolute top-scorer of the team. His closest competitor, Garyabh, finds himself out of a spot in the initial 11, most likely due to his recent health issues. Jorzh Inder, who last played for the Drills during CoH 85, takes up his spot, having shown a terrific season with Rotoro; and defenders be warned: he's an absolute goalgetter.

Slavko Jelic (Mytanija)

Something of a left field choice as national coach, but he certainly ticked a lot of boxes. A manager with vast experience who spent more than a decade at CDSA in his homeland, creating teams that consistently punched above their weight. Recommended for the role by Mytanar legend Lev Repin. His tenure in charge has been a frustrating case of the wheels coming off when success seems so close. Two years ago the Corsairs led their qualification group at the halfway point, before collapsing to fifth by the end. Jelic has also masterminded successive Copa Rushmori semi-final appearances. The national side have been doing this for a while, this campaign will see them hit 1200 senior international fixtures.

Adrian Soriano has made the right wingback berth his own but the left continues to be a source of some issue. Could Antonio Benito, fresh from a spectacular debut season in the Sargossan capital, prove to be the answer? Santiago Álvarez and Joaquín Sanz are tried and tested backups in the middle, while Milagros Fernán provides a more circumspective option on the left.

On paper there is an embarrassment of riches up front. Proven international penalty area predator Mateo Manzanares may well keep the number nine shirt, but Lucas Recoba finished fifteen goals above the Dínamo hitman, and five clear of the next best goalscorer, in the domestic charts and is consequently expected to lead the line again. Alarcón remains an attacker of the trickiest order and should join his club teammate up front. Gustavo Alcocer has a proven track record of turning a game from the bench. And interested eyes will be on Jesús Blaya, for whom Sportivo forked out a staggering fee for two years ago.

In Sargossa the three at the back is king so, for a coach who is no stranger to three centrebacks, Jelic should have little impediment in implementing his favoured tactical plans. He’s been trying a 3-4-2-1 system, with limited success. Traditionally Jelic’s sides have always been strong defensively so he’s expected to utilise a 5-3-2 to create a greater foundation on which to soak up the pressure before launching that all important counter attack. Set pieces will likely play a key role too. Specialised set piece coaches are much in vogue domestically and Manuel Semprún has been poached from domestic giants Ciudad Soluca to fill the role for the national side.

The Sargossan domestic league is quite a physical league so challenges can often be described as 'uncompromising' and cards are pretty common. Gamesmanship, while not encouraged, is not entirely uncommon. But diving is considered particularly stigmatic so Sargossan players are unlikely to be found doing it.

The hopes of the Mertagnian squad were pinned on the 11+subs players that walked out onto the pitch to play Valanora, one of the best teams in the multiverse. For a small moment, it looked like the impossible would happen and David would successfully wound Goliath, but at the end of the 90 minutes in Novonaya, the Marauders came out on top with the ticket to the finals after an impressive 4-2 victory.

But enough about all that. Mertagne are back once again for the real competition. Now entrenched as one of the multiverse's "Harmony knockouts merchant"s, Mertagne will be looking to fight hard in the group stage of the tournament against the best of the rest and will be looking for a deep run in this competition, much of which will be hosted in the neighbouring nation of Huayramarca. The level of competition is fierce this time around, however, with many other prolific nations looking to clinch the title.

Previously in this series...
The Mertagnian delegation attended the Koroa Summit, which took place in Koroa City after a bout of military aggression on the Ocean of Ayes in Anaia, and learned that intelligence they had received relating to a Bostopian led military invasion of the Ochre Islands was not only correct, but the invasion fleet was already headed into Ochre Island waters. Realising the threat that a Bostopian controlled Ochre Islands could have to the rest of the region, Mertagne utilised the only resources it could use in the area under such a short time frame - the MNS Shoda, an aircraft carrier, and its flotilla. The military also contacted the Ko-orenite fleet, which was en route to Cardenao, and asked them to change course and aid in this more immediate threat to regional stability. The flotilla sailed rapidly to the Ochre Islands in the midst of a volcanic eruption that covered the Islands in a dense ash cloud, blocking communications and much advanced technology from operating at peak capacity. The Mertagnian forces landed in the village of Oaktree, which contains a Mertagnian-owned luxury resort, and were in the midst of discussions to convert it into an operational base for the navy infantry to help defend the Ochre Islands from Bostopian forces.

Airspace over the Ochre Islands
While the Mertagnian fleet moved ashore…

The cargo plane rumbled as it roared above the airspace of the Ochre Islands. The plane had been scrambled immediately in the wake of the discovery that the Bostopians had sailed an invasion-ready force over to the Ochres, and therefore time had been of the essence to get troops to the Ochres before the capital, Bellflower, fell into Bostopian hands, if it hadn’t already. The reports that the Bostopians had infiltrated the Ochre Island delegation in the Koroa City talks had not been taken lightly, and therefore the Mertagnian Army’s Gauntlet Company, consisting of approximately 200 soldiers, had been crammed tightly into the nation’s largest military cargo plane alongside several tonnes of supplied and had been shipped off to the Ochres in a mighty hurry to aid the already encroaching naval infantry force that was, if everyone had received their orders correctly, descending on the Ochres as they flew.

The skies above the few clouds were crystal clear for the pilot of the craft, Captain Rachel Cauldwell. As the screens flickered occasionally due to some kind of interference, she gently jostled with the controls of the aircraft as she sat alongside her first officer.

“Is this interference caused by the Bostopians? Do they know we’ve scrambled over Ochre airspace?” asked the officer.

“Could well be, Sticks.” Cauldwell replied. “If they’ve seen the Shoda then they’ll know to prevent the jets from scrambling lest their ships get sunk. Looks like we’ll be flying without instruments for a little bit. Visibility is good for now, however - we’ll be able to meet with the Shoda by nightfall.”

Elsewhere in the aircraft, the soldiers of Gauntlet Company were seated, packed like sardines in addition to their kit, in the hold of the cargo plane. Two privates, Private Chris Voisin and Private Kira Lerin, were chatting with each other as they craned their necks to look outside the tiny rounded window, which showcased the sky and the ocean below. The eponymous Ochre Islands unfolded out below them, and as the plane flew westward towards Mournhow, they were among the first to see the Islands retaliate.

They saw the volcanic eruption and the explosive outpouring of ash before they heard it. The cacophonous rolling clap of the volcano washed over the plane, bringing with it a dense cloud of ash that caught the aircraft from behind. Turbulence began to set in as the aircraft rocked around, uncomfortable in the rapidly darkening sky.

Back in the cockpit, the screens went dead and the lights went dark as the electrics in the plane stuttered to cling onto life.

“Captain, what’s happening? Have we been targeted by the Bostopians?” asked the First Officer.

The captain darted around in her chair, flicking a variety of switches and checking any diagnostics she could. “Could be worse. Looks like Mother Nature has decided to defend her fair islands - and she can’t tell friend from foe.”
The plan dipped below the ever-growing ash cloud, out of the Captain’s full control, and she wrestled with the yoke as she pressed for the crackling communications, which were becoming more distorted by the second, and shouted a message back to the passengers in the cargo plane. “Prepare for an emergency landing. BRACE BRACE BRACE.”

The cargo aircraft sank lower and lower in the skies above Mournhow as they darkened and became blanketed with ash. An engine burst into flames, and the comet streak of Mertagnian Air Front material crossed the sky as the pilot crew desperately tried to guide the plane down for a non-lethal landing.

A spit of sand on the north edge of the island was identified as the best bet, as the cargo plane was ill equipped to release the 200-strong members of Gaunlet Company in the event of any kind of sea-landing. The deafening roar of the cargo plane tried to pierce the air around, like a mosquito at a rave, and the stricken aircraft was pulled as if by the hands of the divine towards the precarious spit of sand.

The members of Gauntlet Company adopted the brace position as they smelled ash and saw flames in the air, and the plane crashed down hard into the sand, the burning engine sending plumes of smoke into the already choked air. Several seconds passed as silence descended in the fuselage, with nobody daring - or even able - to say a word.

Suddenly, the Captain and First Officer burst from the cockpit, fire extinguishers in hand, and shouted orders to any infantry that would receive them. Slowly, as if dragged from the brink of death, the members of the company cranked open the rear cargo hold doors, and a mass of people began to spill out. Shocked and scared Ocherite onlookers observed the Mertagnian military from the top of a steep cliff, some wondering the aircraft’s intentions, and others making their way down carved stone steps with offerings of aid.

The medics in Gauntlet Company worked tirelessly to give everyone a once over, and as Captain Cauldwell sat slumped against a collection of crates that had been carried out of the aircraft, she sighed as the deepening shadow of her Army contingent grew ever closer - Major Noon.

“Well, Cauldwell, that was a fine landing given the circumstances. Any idea where we are? My subordinates are claiming we’re north of Bellflower.” said the Major, offering Cauldwell a hand up.

The Captain accepted the Major’s hand and rose to her feet. “We were just to the east of Mournhow when the volcano erupted. I can only assume that we’ve made it onto Mounhow Island, and yes, we are likely north of Bellflower.” Cauldwell said, exasperated. She straightened herself out slightly, aware that she was now arguably in enemy territory. “So, sir, what are our options here? I regret to inform you than in my expert opinion, the aircraft is f-”

“-ully out of order, yes, Captain, I can see that.”, said the Major as he spied several members of infantry gathered around a piece of the wing that precariously fell near them with a large twanging thud into the sand. “First things first, we need to get up those cliffs. Then, we need to determine where we are, and if this territory has fallen to the Bostopians. If luck is on our side then it hasn’t, and we can rapidly entrench ourselves in this settlement and hold out until we receive further orders from the Shoda.”
“Do you think the Shoda has made it, sir?” remarked Captain Cauldwell, as the waves grew ever larger and lapped against the bottom of the plane as soldiers worked tirelessly to salvage what they could from the cargo hold.

“We have to operate on the assumption that they have made it to Bellflower. Once we are set up here - wherever ‘here’ is - we will send troops down to Bellflower to initiate contact.” replied the Major, keeping a keen eye on the Company of troops that - while looking like they had already seen a battle - were remarkably alive.

Sergeant Kellock swung around with a trained eye as he drew his weapon and pointed it at the woman who had just stepped in through the lobby’s automatic doors.

“Who” she asked, putting one hand on her hip and the other near her holstered revolver, “are you?” A squad full of soldiers turned and looked toward her. '
“Because this is my country and I don't remember sending out invites to foreign troops.” They turned and drew their weapons, scanning for other hostile threats and finding, rather quickly, that the naval infantry had been surrounded as the figure was backed up from both sides by a rival squad of combatants.

Sergeant Kellock lowered his weapon slightly so that he was no longer aiming down the barrel, and looked at the strangely confident person that was standing in front of him. Scanning the surroundings in the artificial light of the lobby, he held up a fist, calling his squad to stand firm.

“Ma’am, I don’t know who you are, but you and your soldiers are wrongfully infringing on Mertagnian territ-”

A whimper came from behind the counter, where the shorter, male businessperson had flopped behind when the weapons began to be drawn. “Sergeant?”

“Not now, this is a military matter.” barked Kellock.

“You might want to listen to him. He’ll probably tell you who I am. I’ll just tell you myself, you clearly missed a briefing. My name is Willow of the Finches, and I am the Prime Minister of the Ochre Islands. Now you know who I am, is this still a military matter?”

Kellock scanned the outfit of the armed guard that Willow had behind her. The insignia suggested that this was indeed a military arm of the Ochre Islands. He had no reason not to trust that she was who she said she was.

“Is that correct? Can you positively ID this woman as Willow of the Finches?” asked Kellock to the two businesspeople.

The woman with the round glasses stood up and squinted. “Yeah, that’s Willow of the Finches. Or it’s a really good body double. Everyone looks a bit different on television.”

Sergeant Kellock lowered his rifle and gestured for the rest of his squad to do the same. “My apologies, I’m operating blind out here and this is a tense situation. I’ve been told that the Bostopians have infiltrated your government. Are you aware that your nation is being invaded by the Bostopians?”

Willow of the Finches nodded. “It’s something we’re keeping a handle on, Mr…”

“Sergeant. Kellock. Sergeant Kellock.” replied Sergeant Kellock.

“You can understand why I was incredibly surprised when I was told that ships had been spotted coming from the west as well as the east. However, we knew something was wrong as yours hadn’t immediately started firing.”

“Well, ma’am, we’re not here to invade. It is believed that Mertagnian intelligence intercepted that the Bostopians were on their way here, and in the interest of regional safety, the Shoda - the aircraft carrier out back there - was dispatched into Ochre Island waters in order to protect the Islands from the Bostopians. My commanding officer will likely have more information for you. I think it would be very beneficial for you to speak with him.”

“I think so too, Sergeant.” said Willow, stepping up towards him, which put the Mertagnian and Ochrite soldiers on edge.

“Private Snicket, please prepare your semaphore kit to deliver a message to Captain Lenormand on the Shoda.” said Sergeant Kellock, trying not to flinch as the Ochre Island Prime Minister stepped into his space.

“In the meantime, would anyone like a drink?” asked the balding businessperson behind the desk.

As the Prime Minister and the Mertagnian troops waited what seemed like an agonisingly long time for the Captain to disembark the Shoda under stormy skies, they relocated to one of the resort’s well furnished bars. The businesspeople excused themselves from the meeting so that they could attend to the growing number of guests that were asking exactly what was going on, yet left a bartender in the room to serve drinks if needed. Once everyone had been plied with a non-alcoholic cocktail to keep their spirits up, Captain Lenormand finally made his way into the meeting room.

“Apologies for the delay. The sea has not been kind to us this evening.” Lenormand explained as he pushed back his wet hair under his captain’s hat.

“The Mother and Father have been kinder to you than most, Captain. Do not dismiss their gift.” replied Willow of the Finches.

“I’m sorry?” asked the Captain.

“The events that you see as ‘natural’ are simultaneously natural indeed and anything but. These Islands are protected, Captain, by forces beyond your understanding. The fact that you have made it onto these shores at all shows that your intentions are just. The fact that it wasn’t easy tells me there’s something you’re holding back from me.”

Captain Lenormand was astounded at the conviction with which Willow of the Finches spoke. He didn’t believe in higher powers (in the religious sense, at least - in a multiverse full of surprises there’s always something that you can ascribe it to) and yet as Willow continued to speak, he at least believed that she knew these intricacies as fact.

The Captain cleared his throat. “You are correct, Prime Minister. I have made contact with the Ko-orenite fleet and they are scheduled to arrive within the next few hours. I am assured that they have the same intentions that we do - we were all simply in the right place at the right time to help out. I speak on behalf of the nation of Mertagne when I say we are here to help, ma’am. The Bostopians pose a threat to the entire region should they be allowed to continue this invasion.”

Willow of the Finches regarded the Captain’s words and considered them genuine. She was ultimately wary of foreign military power, but grateful that someone had at least spotted that Bostopia’s assumed military posturing was something far more sinister. “Very well, Captain. You may continue your operations here provided that you ratify a military alliance with my forces this very evening. I need confirmation that you are on our side - and then we can share with you what we have discovered.”

The Celestial Empire of Naixi (pronounced NYE-shee) is a coastal country located in the region of Rushmore. It possesses a pleasant, warm-summer Mediterranean climate and largely flat and passable terrain. These factors led to a famous rail line being built in the country, which required the labor of many thousands of Chinese indentured servants. The railroad eventually made Naixi a hub for industry such as mining and manufacturing, but social tensions between the ruling elite and the historically underserved descendants of the rail workers - who were never more than 40 percent of the country's population - led to a brief but bloody social conflict that began about twelve years ago. The unrest began as street protests, but eventually armed conflict swept the region, particularly the east of the country. Cease fires and conditional independence treaties were signed three years ago, and almost all of the once-dominant Golden People (as the Naixese call their former superiors) have been expelled. Peace has endured so far, but militarization remains high and a policy requiring two years of compulsory military service from all citizens remains in place.

Zhong Xian Xu, a resistance leader during the independence conflict and self-declared general, very briefly became head of state when Naixi's sovereignty was initially declared. He fell ill within a week of accepting the position, however, and his hastily-planned succession plans distributed his administrative and political authority to eight children and grandchildren. Xu selected the number eight in a deliberate reference to the Eight Banners of the Qing Dynasty and declared his successors to be a Celestial Council, then passed away. The Celestial Council attempts to carry on his revolutionary legacy by representing the Naixese state and the racial category of Naixese people more broadly, but it does not have any meaningful powers anymore. Those powers have been redistributed to the 953-seat Parliament of Naixi. However, in that legislative body, a recent general election has thrust the N4N-Monarchists Party into power. Their main campaign promise, to restore significant authority to the Celestial Council. Only time will tell if they will be able to enact their agenda.

The political culture of the country is generally liberal and the WA rates the democratic structures enjoyed by Naixese citizens very highly. General elections must occur at least once every 36 months but can be declared earlier if the Prime Minister fails in a vote of confidence. Most forms of speech and art - including politically themed speech and art - are protected rights. The nation's judicial system is young, but it has already built a substantive track record of striking down legislation curtailing freedom of expression. In recent years, however, Naixi's conservative electorate seems to have shown a preference for parties who promise to curtail such rights. While for now citizens can say what they want and vote how they like, the winds of change seem to be blowing.

Crime is quite low by international standards, but by Rushmori standards it is somewhat high. The Ministry of Law and Order, which controls the National Police and the Department of Corrections, is powerful and well-funded, but divides opinions among the populace. Some view the Ministry as protecting the Naixese national social character, while others view it - in particular the National Police - as an abusive paramilitary organization. An unarmed 15-year-old Rokikoliji boy was shot and killed by a police unit, and none of the officers involved faced prosecution. The Naixese left characterizes the incident as an atrocity (though the Naixese left is incredibly weak). Furthermore, the Ministry has attracted vociferous international criticism for its approach to national cyber security, which has recently been made intentionally laisses faire in a fruitless attempt to mollify technology firms.

These firms, which once were the driver of economic growth in Naixi, have been leaving the country in droves for the last calendar year. This is a result of three major things. First, an unweighted lottery system granting public infrastructure contracts, second, protectionist laws signed by the Prime Minister designed to shelter so-called "old media" such as radio and television from the disruptions of the tech industry, and third, the mostly-unwarranted perception that the government is in bed with organized labor. No metrics measuring the economic health of the country are headed in the right direction, and recent strikes by retail and service workers have forced the passage of guaranteed workers' benefits rules and restrictions on hours of operation, cutting into the once-stupendous profits of restaurant chains and retail giants. Some recovery has occurred in the last twelve months, but this is largely due to the growth of the arms manufacturing and biomedical research industries, and not so much to the return of the tech firms.

The area that is now known as Naixi also has a long history of being used for metals mining and industrial fishing, and both industries have had negative consequences on ecology. Broadly poor agricultural practices, the prevalence of single-use plastics, lack of regulation around carbon emissions, rudimentary national waste disposal services, and an offshore oil rig accident six months ago are all factors in the nation's infamously bad environmental practices. Air and water pollution are very serious problems nationwide. Funds were recently made available for hydroelectric and solar energy, but these projects are in their infancy and are being resisted by Naixi's captains of industry.

Numerous currents of social conservatism - some nationalist and some religious - are prevalent, and the current government has shown strong sympathy with them. Immigration to Naixi is incredibly tightly restricted, and divorce and alcohol consumption have all been recently banned, all to public applause. Small businesses have broad authority to deny service to members of the LGBTQ community, and racism and xenophobia are extremely commonplace. Even public laughter has been deemed unrelated to speech (which, as mentioned above, is protected) and now requires a permit (which is somewhat-easily obtained but puts you on a government list of "non-religious persons").

The one area as yet untouched by conservative culture war is drug law, which is extremely relaxed. Cannabis is totally deregulated and decriminalized. Growing, possessing, and consuming the plant are all totally legal. Other drugs, too, are very easy to acquire. Pain medications, including opiates, can be obtained with a prescription, and not only can any doctor get you one, any person with a medical degree of any kind can get you one. Only hallucinogens require special effort to find, and that has less to do with state policy and more to do with lack of demand.

The art and culture of the country is often presented in a register consistent with these libertine attitudes around drugs, with the low brow held in higher regard than the high. Classic literature receives the same reverence as rock and hip hop music, and you can study street fashion in local universities but probably have to go abroad to study abstract art. As a consequence of all this, international observers are often quite critical of the country's cultural development. Naixese cuisine in particular is notoriously bad. Pizza is very popular in Naixi, however, the pies themselves are often made with cheap ingredients. Crusts are frequently paper thin and flavorless, and the tomato-heavy sauce is often overly salted and overly sweet, with not nearly enough cheese. Global food critics are unashamed to use the word "repellent" to describe it.

The capacity of the nation's armed forces expands more and more with every passing month, and the nascent arms manufacturing industry grows with it. As an abstraction, the notion of defending Naixese racial sovereignty is very popular within the polity, and the military has been able to successfully establish buy-in amongst the citizenry by pitching itself as a guardian of society. The mandatory period of military service is helpful, as well, as it leads all adult citizens to believe the armed forces are a communitarian project governed by social contract. It is not, of course - the army, navy, and air forces are as hierarchical as any military's - but the mythology of democratic governance persists nonetheless.

A loyal disciple of the tactically erudite elder stateswoman of Naixese football - former Shockwaves boss Xiao Cheng Li, who is now in the dugout for the Astograthian national team - Gui Fan Ren is somehow both an adherent to the aesthetically pleasing possession-based philosophies that have always been in the ascendancy at Chongjibo, and also an innovative free spirit, self-trained in what some would call the dark arts of defensive football. In this sense, he is in many ways the country's first "systems" manager at any level; he approaches every sampling of players as a tactical puzzle and draws upon Naixi's innate football DNA in order to solve it. At Chongjibo, a club many predicted would be in crisis in the aftermath of Li's shocking departure, Ren somehow made the champions even better, entrusting his goalkeeper and defenders to lock down encroaching opposition strikers while continuing the Pink and Black's tradition of dominating possession. By the end of the league season, Ren's outfit was crowned champion of the League of the Two Sapphires, and his back line conceded just 14 times in 27 matches, or 0.52 per game.

But the question asks itself: if Ren's Chongjibo were so good, why did he leave the club after just a single year in charge? Why, because his country was in need, you see. Run Ming Kwan's sudden retirement (every bit as abrupt as Li's had been at Chongjibo) put the Blues in a bind, and the Naixese national team had to appoint a new manager for the third time in a twelve month span. Ren was a relatively clear choice... he knew the personalities and skills of many of Naixi's best players by heart (Lu Fang Huang, Kian Zhi Yuan, and even Jen Ta Jin, thanks to the latter's single year in pink while Ren was an assistant manager). The Shockwaves were briefly in a bit of a bind, of course, but then they persuaded Dragomir Lazic and Leontiy Korchagin to ink mega-million NSD contracts. They're fine.

As for tactics, Ren has never deviated from his hybrid style of possession and defense. His Naixi are a side that looks to win the ball back and keep it at all costs - even shooting at an open goal is viewed by the Blues' boss as a philosophically unsound action. When his players possess the necessary self-belief to do it, this Naixi team is incredibly difficult to score against. Discipline, as was the case under Gan Liang, plays a major role on the training pitch and in the dressing room. The players, for example, have been stripped of their right to select their own squad number... instead, a lottery has been held. The only stipulations were that goalkeepers would receive the numbers 1, 12, and 23.

As clear as Ren's vision is for the future of this national team, questions still abound. How long, to give one example, will this managerial post last? Naixi seem now to be in an unfortunate cycle of managers assuming the mantle of national team power only to abruptly retire. It wouldn't be completely astounding to hear the 65-year-old Ren say that he'd like to hang up his boots in the non-distant future... and that would mean more turnover for this national team and yet another total overhaul in shape and tactical identity.

Her chipped shot is notoriously deadly and difficult for goalkeepers to gauge.

The 19-year-old is a wonderful dribbler who relishes finding pockets of space.

Always playing off the shoulder of the last defender, Chu is a perfect fit for Ren's tactical plans.

One brief glance at Naixi's new starting eleven will tell you we everything you need to know about Ren's tactical vision. Eight out of the eleven are either currently playing for - or a graduate of the youth academy of - Aierlanren or Chongjibo. That's right: Huang, Chang, and Yuan have never played in any colors other than pink and black, and Jin began his career at Chongjibo, while Ling and Yap are currently under contract with the Gold and White, and Dong and Fu were famously effective defensive barriers in during Seasons 1 and 2 respectively. With the Irish imparting a philosophy of lockdown defense and rigid organization, and the Shockwaves a philosophy of short passing and recycling of possession, you can really clearly see what Ren is going for... defence and possession.

So what is this team's shape going to look like? On the surface, it would seem to be a straightforward wide 5-4-1. But don't judge a book by its cover. Yes, Huang will be an ordinary goalkeeper with minimal license to march ahead off his line, and Pao and Tian will be ordinary fullbacks, though they'll operate with a degree of permission to bomb forward while the Blues are in possession. Orthodox, too, will be the outside center halves Fu and Tsung, though it will fall within the pair's remit to play out from the back rather than get it launched to the center forward. The role played by Dong (the central defender), will be quite irregular. She'll withdraw behind Fu and Tsung while Naixi are out of possession, acting as the literal last line of defence, but in attack, she will drift forward into midfield and operate as a tempo-setter in the passing game. (Avid football tactics heads will recognize this as a libero role.) Up in midfield, it'll all look very familiar to fans of the Naixese champions. Chang will operate as a roaming playmaker, always ready to use her first touch as a primary weapon in transition. Yuan, meanwhile, will be less mobile, playing the part of a holding midfielder. Slightly ahead of the midfield duo and out by the touchlines will be the two wingers Yap and Jin. As is popular these days, they'll be inverted wingers, but the expectation will not be for them to go direct when on the ball... on the contrary, they will be called upon to look to recycle possession back to Dong, Chang, or Yuan. Circumstantially, Yap and Jin may look to zip through balls ahead for the striker, which qualifies them for the unusual descriptor of "wide advanced playmaker," but giving the ball away will be frowned upon. The Blues will, therefore, have five players packed into the middle of the park while in possession. Ren has even referred to this conglomerate as a "Midfield Pentagram," and with Dong at the base point, Chang and Yuan using the space created by the attacking full backs to move slightly wide, and Yap and Jin pushing together in the front, it will indeed resemble an upside-down pentagram. Finally, at center forward, we come to the great Chen Ling... yes... it had to be Chen Ling. One, she has been unstoppable for the final ten weeks of the League of the Two Sapphires season, and two, she's a simple and obvious fit for Ren's version of the striker... that is to say that her primary attributes are patience and pace. Her job will be to wait. Then wait some more. Then wait some more. Then (you're not gonna believe this) wait some more. When this system works, though, eventually frustrated defenders inevitably overcommit, and Ling is utterly deadly when she gets in behind. Once she has a one-on-one with a goalkeeper, it's an automatic goal.

As elegant as this tactic is, though, lots can still go wrong. Huang's talents are flagrantly wasted in a system where he's told to sit back. Ren, after all, used him as more of a sweeper keeper last year with the Shockwaves. Dong, too, may struggle in her position; she did not exactly set the world alight while she was tasked with the exact same role at her club Litala 93. Pao and Tian, as always, will need to cross the halfway line and stretch play while Naixi are on the ball, so that the "Midfield Pentagram" has space to work in, but that could leave the remaining two defenders vulnerable if possession is suddenly lost. Another potential danger could be a lack of bodies in the center of the park when Naixi are defending. Chang and Yuan will have a plethora of passing options when the Blues have the ball, but when defending, Dong, Yap, and Jin will all snap back to their positions as seen on the diagram above. Versus an opponent that intentionally packs the midfield, the lonely pair of Chang and Yuan might be in jeopardy, and neither are really known for their defending. Finally, as is the case in many defensive formations with a single striker, Ling has an awful lot to do completely on her own. Sage opposition center backs who stay back and refuse to take the bait should be able to contain her, her superlative form notwithstanding.

TROLLEBORG NATIONAL TEAM

Nickname: Trolls

Preferred color of the team is green, with white and red versions as second choice. All three was obvious choice, since they all are present at the national flag. Blue color is one that associated with medieval color of arms of the time when Trolleborg undergo a great test of strenght.

NATIONAL TEAM

After the departure of the “golden generation”, which won three international tournaments for the country, a very difficult WCQ94 campaign followed, marked by a chain of inexplicably unsuccessful performances at home and frankly strange results that had little to do with what the team showed on the field. Our team did manage to win the playoffs spot for the first time in three seasons, but many fans felt like team can count on much more than that, and now CoH is seen as a test of whether the trend is up or down.

COACH

61-years old Morten Troghil is a manager of the team since its creation. It is he who won three international tournaments and five times lead team to finals. All this is already things of past, though, and it will be seen, are coach succeed in inventing something new. For CoH, he did not bring in any new players, which is understandable given the importance of this tournament, and he did not take on several players who participated in WCQ – does he not count on them anymore, or shows them the need to improve their game, it is not known.

PLAYERS

GOALKEEPERS

Morten Kerr (29). This is very skilful and intelligent player. By virtue of his reflexes, bravery and clear reading of the game he have a recognition from the fans notwithstanding which team. But very often this all was disappears somewhere when he was at the number 1 post at the international team.
Buyo (25). One of the people who migrate into Trolleborg after country open himself to the world ten years ago, he is recent addition to the team. While playing for the team that just promoted to the Trolleborg League and fights for survival, this goalkeeper proved tremendously difficult to beat, on a good day he become real wall, almost unbeatable for even best Trolleborg strikers. He recently have a very good seasons in local league, but his performance in the WCQ is rather mediocre.
Torben Fingall (25). Prove himself efficient and reliable, he has a great talant of well-positioning himself, and extremely fast in addition. He have some playing time in the recent tournaments, but clearly he is number 3 in the fight for a shirt of national team goalkeeper.

DEFENDERS

Kasper Wolters (33). Despite his age, he is very strong, and relatively fast. In the past he substituted right midfielders and use his crossing skill to add something to the attacking might of the team, but right now prefer to concentrate on the defensive duties. Most probably coach give him a spot in the subs, just for the case.
Torstein Bjerkelund (25). Right defender was part of the “Finn Hurps” squad that won Confederations Trophy, in the recent games of international club tournaments he prove that he doesn't get frightened when he has to fight for the ball with stronger and more experienced players. He also prove this at the national team and ready to fight for a spot on the right flank with Schendel – or, being relatively young, sub him after valiant veteran will retire.
William Schendel (29). Versatile fast moving defender known for his skillful positioning and man-marking, highly effective in breaking opposition attacks, great in the heading, with incredible high crosses-interception rate. Everyone note that he drastically improve his performance recently and with experience he add many new tricks to his arsenal.
Joran Du Riis (33). Cold-blooded fighter prove that he more than capable holding his own at the highest level. Agile and fast-moving, but solidly builded and used this for his advantage, he play with composure and responsibility, he was a key player of the Trolleborg defence. This was especially so because of the Aien Troger retirement from the team.
Miran Fizer (31). This very robust player has a nickname “Greaven”, meaning in Trollish language a very strong sort of mountain stone. Miran have a great positioning skills, he fight for every ball, dominant in the aerial game and very tight marker, but he looked like person totally devoid of any constructive capacity. He capable only of limited passing and never goes far forward. His mode of work usually limited to disrupting any activity by the opposing team in his area of responsibility, and once in possession of the ball, he usually sends it wherever direction he face. He was not succeed in his tasks in the national team up to date, but coach, nevertheless, add him to the lineup.
Kjell Helvig (25). This brave defender shows commitment and hard work in every game, in addition to good positional sense, and prove himself very difficult to beat by opposition forwards. Being very mobile, he frequently moves forward to support attack. He shown noticeable progress in the few last years, and made it to the national team squad. It will be seen, are he will be a man up to the tasks situation give him.
Thomas Heg (26). This versatile defender can play as both central or left defender, but he best suited as a former. His movements are sure and quick, he is masterful when intercepting ball and excellent in the air. Albeit he is not prove himself too great in the national team, coach give him another try.
Joran Rijsager (29). Left defender or central defender as coach see fit, he concedes nothing to rivals and rarely makes a mistakes in local league, but his performance at the national team up to date is not too convincing.
Joos Haankrands (27). Left defender, agile and fast, he have makings of the first-rate star on his position, but right now it was not clear, is he is on the way to greatness. Probably it will be seen in WCQ games.

MIDFIELDERS

Anselm Kollimor (28). Attack-minded right-side midfielder. His runs into the box of rival teams is always dangerous. But he will have a tough fight for the spot at the team lineup, since he has to fight for a spot with Jesper Gronholm.
Jesper Gronholm (30). Established member of the team, he was comfortable at the right flank as midfielder and winger, willingly join any move forward, where he pass ball quickly and thoughtfully, and sometimes shot at goal with a very decent results. But at the recent tournaments he was not too convincing, and, most probably, coach give a spot on the right flank to someone else.
Jesper Wolters (27). Quick, skillful and creative, this central midfielder covers a lot of ground, taking part in defensive work and joining attacks willingly. But he has a clear difficulties adapting to the international football recently, lost his spot in the lineup and move to the subs.
Torben Reper (26). Having good vision and great touch on the ball, in addition to his great passing ability, he is good midfield organizer. Intelligent, hard working player with impressive physical condition, he is capable to make tremendous runs from deep and have a good eye for a goal.
Brutil Skrta (28). Very complete player, who posessed ability, stamina, flair, technique and resoluteness in just perfect mix. Shows tremendous accuracy when passing, fine distant shooting skills, he moved very fast and prove his talents brilliantly in the last few tournaments. But he lacked something to be the player like Morten Troll was in his best years
Kenneth Pathmoor (29). This central midfielder can cover a lot of space in the middle of the field and with his pace, agility and an eye for goal he willingly can find net himself or conjure goal opportunity for his forwards.
Soren Wittingem (28). In recent tournaments Morten Troghil either take a the two defensive midfielders in the lineup or none of them. Wittingem is one of the pair, strong player who can run incessantly whole 90 minutes, distributes ball well due to his great passing ability and perfect knowledge of game, and also shows considerable tenacity and real class at his duties as defensive midfielder, as it was extremely difficult to go past him. But right now he don’t make to the height of work recently retired Hendrick Groningen.
Torben Scantorp (26). This defensive midfielder ball-winning talents are remarkable. He has a talent of reading game (and some also joking, that also reading thoughts), and is untiring worker, also capable to bring ball forward fast and precise. Head coach give him time at the field and this player is don’t make obvious blunders.
Torben Pangborn (28) Skilful central left midfielder, whose great speed allows him to outpace opponents and break through rival defences. His talents allow him to make a lot of scoring chances for the team, and due to his speed he is very useful in the counter-attacks.
Karsten Gould (28). This versatile midfielder can play as a left midfielder or forward if needed. But his passing much better than shooting skills, so he prefer not to make long shots, instead move into the box very fast and try to make dangerous continuations. He prove himself well in the international club tournaments last season and his chances for a place in the lineup improved as a result of recent changes in the squad.

FORWARDS

Torben Kranforde (28). Very fast forward, who have special ability to surprise rival defenders. He also posessed a great skill of positioning himself very well, and regularly sent many defenders and goalkeepers into despair with his precise and deadly shots from both feet. He scored many goals for national team, but nevertheless this didn’t help team to win any silverware, and his popularity not rises to the level of his great predecessors.
Morten Kroonquist (29). This fast forward known for intensity of his game, and he is capable to maintain workrate in all 90 minutes. With enviable quickeness he moved very fast, turns very well, constantly pressurized rival defenders, with or without balls, and always trying winning back posession.
Kendall Kerl (27). This power forward proved himself very effective (if judged by recent international club tournaments) in front of goals. Physically strong, so he don’t have need to shies away from collusions, but usually he prefer to concentrate on his prime functions, and he also blessed by great technoque, so scores a lot of goals from just one touch.
Skovdal Kroldrup (26). Quick, direct striker, capable to finding gaps in the rival defence. Technically good, he can shield ball well, but prefer one-touch moves.

TEAM TACTICS AND GAME STYLE

With Morten Troghil at the helm team always practiced attractive attacking game on a fast pace. Usually he use 4-4-2 or 3-5-2 depending on what opponents have on hands. Team always try to use pressing when ball is not on our side.

Unsportsmanlike behavior in Trolleborg is highly discouraged, even – and especially – if in the interests of the cause. National team players are required to meet the highest standards possible, so it is completely impossible to imagine a player of the Trolleborg national team faking injury or begging for a penalty. It is expected that players who have a choice between faked fall and appeal for penalty and try to continue game choice latter without any doubts. Compromises impossible.

Godmod other events: Generally no, but if you have something interesting in mind, let me know and we try to find a middle ground. In accordance with remark about unsportsmanlike behaviour above any insinuations about dishonest behavior of players, fistfights, dirty play, or pressure on the referee on the part of Trolleborg team is counted as Godmod and needed to be discussed.

OUR FANS

Fans is almost part of the team, and already acquire sophisticated practices of cheering for their kin. While our fans do not continue practice their usual habit of first years in the international sport, with parades and cultural exhibitions, but at every away game you can safely expect a big noisy, albeit basically harmless, crowd of Trolleborg fans.
