Also my apologies for delays with host bid votes - very hectic situation back to work after a couple of weeks away due to strike.

I will get to them sometime tomorrow or Thursday, likelier Thursday morning. Once it is posted, the host bid voting period will run for 60 to 72 hours from the post.

Host voting for the World Cup of Hockey 48

Voting for the hosting nation(s) of the 48th World Cup of Hockey is now open.

There is one candidate - Canadian Dominion & Quintessence of Dust.

Voters may choose to either:

Award the hosting rights to Quintessence of Dust & Canadian Dominion;
Re-open Bidding;
or
Abstain

Users should telegram Inteachan with their vote.

The nations listed below under the spoiler are the members of the World Cup of Hockey Federation and are eligible to cast their vote. An user is eligible if they have participated (posting a roster and an RP) in two World Cup of Hockey tournaments leading up to their membership, and since then have maintained it to success. If I have missed your name by any chance, please relay it forward to Quebec and Shingoryeo via TG.

We have 22 active members, which include all those with eligibility obtained or retained, and who have also signed, up to this point. As Federation President, I will also stay out of voting for the time being, unless a tiebreaker is required.

With that in mind, the voting will close when one option reaches 8 votes, or Sunday, 7th of May, at Midnight UTC. For those in North America, this means 20h this Sunday.

We have arrived past the deadline for me to close the votes. The World Cup of Hockey 48 is awarded to the nations of Quintessence of Dust and Canadian Dominion.

Vote results:

Award the World Cup of Hockey to Canadian Dominion and Quintessence of Dust: 6
Re-open Bids: 0
Abstain: 0
Invalid: 2.
Note: Please be advised that membership to the WCoH Federation is only awarded after two cycles of participation.

You have 51 nations, dear hosts, so feel free to cut and add as needed.

Also provided is the Post-47 rankings.

For those who have noticed, I have decided to apply the knockout bonus from R16 onwards, to keep in line with past cycles where they have been awarded from R16 onwards. This should remain the same in future cycles if we get another tourney with R24 or R32 rounds.

I posted this with the wrong nation, which serves as a useful reminder to myself that Quintessence of Dust itself hadn't signed up. Which it will, displacing Queb's puppet (for the moment).
