Welcome to the 69th AOCAF, please place your intent to sign up here. The AOCAF Cup is a Football/Soccer competition for Nations who are members of the Atlantian Oceania Region. Nations not currently part of the region are welcome to sign up if they re-locate to Atlantian Oceania, though their inclusion in the tournament would be numbers dependent at the discretion of the elected host. Puppet nations need be declared by their owners.

The Atlantian Oceania Confederation of Association Football (AOCAF) presents the AOCAF Cup which is the oldest and longest-running regional sporting tournament in the multiverse and is among the most prestigious. The Region of Atlantian Oceania (AO) is best known for its sporting achievements, as the majority of nations in the region take part in various sporting events around the world. Atlantian Oceania and its users also were the first to create regional based competitions, hosting their own regional Olympics, a regional football tournament which is now the longest running Regional Sports competition on Nationstates, as well as other smaller competitions leading to the classification of Atlantian Oceania as a "Sports Region". AO Regularly hosts the largest number of unique regional sporting events on the NS Sports Calendar and consistently innovates within NS Sports. The deadline for AOCAF Host Bids is April 12th. Nations who are signed up may begin TGing their host vote to Atlantian Oceania from April 13th until April 16th. (there will not be a separate 'announcement' - just start voting. Any vote received prior to the latest valid bid being posted will not be counted.) Any other tournament bids and signups should be conducted and completed prior to the start of the AOCAF competition.

Please link or present any bids to host as well. Primary natives are given priority over transplant/inactive puppets or late arrivals at the hosts discretion should numbers need to be trimmed.

Please note, only nations that were members of AO prior to this posting, resurrected nations that have competed in a prior AOCAF and have returned to the region prior to closure of signups, or those with special dispensation as determined by the hosts are eligible to enter the AOCAF competition. 2) Group Stage with more than 3 matches on approximately 3 scorination days (Double scorination as needed)
3) Knockouts that may or may not include byes depending on numbers

Q&A

What is the "Seeded 4/20-69 of Chaos"?
If this bid wins, the first MD will be on 4/20. It will not be the start of the Group Stage but a seeded two-round series of matches to determine pots for the groups.
For Example, if there are 4 nations competing in the tournament, the first Round of Chaos will put these matchups: A) 1v4 B) 2v3. This is not total chaos because it is seeded based on your AO Ranking
In the second Round of Chaos, the Winner of Match A will play the Winner of Match B, while the two losers will also play each other.
From there its very simple. Any team that wins both of its 4/20-69 matches will be in Pot 1. A team that wins the first game and loses the second will be in Pot 2. A team that loses the first game and wins the second will be in pot 3 and a team that loses both games will be in pot 4.

Why?
The Random group draw can influence a teams fate even more than the Rand() in a scorinator. A new team getting a difficult draw in a 3-game group stage can be eliminated quickly without having any fun, and thats not fun. So lets have some fun first, take some of the rand() out of the group draw and put it into the hands of the teams... ICly, and let them fight for their pot on the field. Plus, it will give teams more matches and more storylines.

When will the.. second MD1 be?
The group stage proper would be projected to start no earlier than 4/23

What will the tiebreakers be?
1. Head-to-head points among tied teams
2. Head-to-head goal difference among tied teams
3. Coin Flip (Match scored using only RP bonus)

Can i Use ChatGPT or an AI image generator?
If you use ChatGPT, say you used ChatGPT. If you post something that doesn't make sense it won't be graded that well. If you can successfully get an AI image generator to create an image that is actually relevant to the tournament or your team without having a detached hand, half an ear or something else extremely wonky or annoyingly out of place then you've likely either paid for the right to use it or spent just as much time crafting that image then it would take to make something "of equal bonus potential" - so that is fine.

Will the AOCAF Champion be named an honorary successor to the Governorship of Atlantian Oceania?
The odds of this happening are likely between 5-10% - all teams being equal.

Scorination: xkoranate with NSFS formula and xkoranate modifiers
RP bonus: Cumulative bonus.
Roster Penalty: No penalty, but rosters before MD1 will earn 2x normal bonus. Rosters posted before end of group stage earn 1/2 bonus. Rosters posted after group stage ends earn 1/4 bonus.
Preferred Formats: 24 team: 6 groups of four, top two teams advance from group and best four 3rd placed teams.
30 team: 6 groups of five, same format
32 team: 8 groups of four, top two teams advance
32+ teams: Will be addressed when and if needed.
3rd Party: Should Demot and/or Valanora make the knockouts, third party scorinator will be used for their matches
Cutoff Window: Should I be awarded the hosting rights, cutoff window will be between 8 and 11 central.
Tiebreakers: H2H, GD, Wins, GF, Coin Flip (Match scored with just RP bonus)
