Has the Wind Change?

Otksarin — In the continuation of Mandalanusa Cup, Soracana Islands finally get their first point and their first win in the competition. The match against Berdeng Bundok was seen as a boring match based on some of the supporters that watch the match live at the stadium. Both teams seems to in cautious mode that neither wants to do an all out attacks. They were also showing a high defensive tactics. Both didn't want to lose the match. The first half was ended in double 0s.

Starting the second half, both team were still using their defensive tactics. Attacks were occuring but not too much. In 61' minute, the Bundoko was able to break Soracanian defense and also bring harm to their goal. Luckily, the goalkeeper, Jandisuga was quick to rescue his goal. The Bundoko started to increase their attacks. It seems that they're trying to possibly win the match. On the other hand, the Soracanian players were still unable to build a good attack. But the luck seems to be on Soracana side. Their 10th attempt to attack success to made chaos in the Bundoko goal. In the chaos, Ranggida took the advantage when he got the ball. As his position was on the right spot, he shot the ball right into the goal. That single goal was stayed until the whistle was blown.

The win surely bring surprise and joy to the fans. It has been a long time for the country to wait such winning. In the competition, the result elevate the team's position in the table to the second position below Acastanha. The third and last match is crucial for the team. A win will ensure their position in the knockout stage. While a lose will send them home. A draw, they will need to wait for the result of the other match on the group. With the win, the team is under an euphoria and high confidence. Hopefully, it will elevate their performance against the former champion, Southern Palm Islands.

Sharktail Post EP 70

Otksarin : Another 1-0 match and Sharktail snatched full 3 points from Sendhang. This leaves Sharktail alone on top of group B, going to the last group match against Pulang.

Facing Sendhang who has made their name well known in these few years, the original target was a draw. However, this victory is a valuable bonus for the team. The lone goal from the captain, Azaim from a free kick was once again a dramatic moment for Sharktail fans. As for now, we might say our current tactical more balance between attacking and defense but need another check, maybe one or two more matches.

Sahami led Sharktail brilliantly, scoring his second win in MAC 12 competition, 100% record intact. Tanah Hijau done, Sendhang done. Sharktail can now see the situation in a wider scope. The main target to pass the group stage, which is almost certainly within reach. So, a wider scope is meant for the knockout stages.

Inhabited by Otksarin, Island of The Lost and Eraman, their competition is fierce at the moment. Island of The Lost and Otksarin share 4 points while Eraman is fresh with a 5-0 win.

"None of them can be considered a safe pick at all. All of them are difficult opponents, same as other groups. None of the qualified team are easy opponents. So, face it. Are we the one to beat them or will us being the loser? Let see."

Sharktail will end the group stage against Pulang. Pulang and Sendhang share points, so they will not come to this match casually. It will be nother hard match, do or die for them. Sharktail, be prepared.

A Big Win

Acastanha show their superiority when they were facing Southern Palm Islands. The former champions was crushed 6-2 by the Arrows. The match was fully controlled by Acastanha right from the start. Although we can highlighted that Southern Palm Islands was not performed at their best. It feels like they were playing without soul. While Kalchankar made his first hattrick in the competition. The other goals were scored by Gothrado, Adondare and Brandas. With the result, Acastanha securing themselves on top of the group. And with a collection of 9 goals, the team become the most productive so far in the competition.

The last match for them is against Berdeng Bundok. The team is likely to go home early after their second defeat against comeback team, Soracana Islands. Based on meetings record, both team have only met once at the group stage of 10th Mandalanusa Cup. At the meeting, Acastanha won big by 6-3. Despite the fact, the manager, Manuel Archanankar remind his team to stay alert and not underestimate their opponent. He pointed out the 11th editions final as the example. At the final the giant team, Pemecutan was defeated by newcomer Tecoia in a surprising win. However, Archanankar hope that his boys can performed at their best and able to win all 3 matches.

The match between Sharktail and Sendhang was intense from the start. Both teams were determined to come out on top, but there could only be one winner. The stadium was packed with fans of both teams, all eagerly waiting for the match to begin. The referee blew the whistle and the match was underway.

Sendhang started strong, controlling possession and attacking Sharktail's defense. They tried to create opportunities but Sharktail's defense was relentless. Sharktail counterattacked and put pressure on the Sendhang goal. They had several chances to score but Sendhang's goalkeeper, Albertus Wageo was up to the task, making some brilliant saves to keep the score level. It was end-to-end stuff on the night as both teams trying to secure the win. As the first half progressed, both teams continued to attack but neither was able to find the back of the net. The game remained 0-0 at half-time.

In the dressing room, Sendhang's head coach, Teuku Irfan rallied his players. "We're doing great out there, but we need to find a way to get the ball in the net," he said. "Keep playing with the same intensity and we'll come out on top."

The second half started and it was much of the same. Both teams were attacking and trying to score, but the defenses were too strong. Then, in the 65th minute, disaster struck for Sendhang. Sharktail won a free kick and their captain, Azaim, stepped up to take it. The ball sailed into the top corner of the net, leaving Sendhang's goalkeeper no chance. The stadium erupted as Sharktail took the lead 1-0. Sendhang continued to push forward, trying to find an equalizer. The crowd was on their feet, cheering them on. But it wasn't meant to be. The final whistle blew and Sharktail had secured the 1-0 victory.

Sendhang players were dejected as they walked off the field. "We tried our best, but it just wasn't enough today," said Teuku Salahudin, Sendhang's star striker in the post-match press conference. "But we'll be back, stronger than ever."

Despite the loss, Sendhang is still in a good position to advance to the knockout stages of the 12th Mandalanusa Cup. They are currently tied for second place in their group with Pulang, and the final group match against Tanah Hijau will determine their fate. The match against Tanah Hijau will be a do-or-die match for Sendhang as they need a win to move on to the knockout stages.

Sendhang players are already looking forward to the final match of the group. "We know it's going to be another tough match," said Teuku Salahudin. "But we're ready for it. We're going to give it our all and try to come out on top. It's going to be a battle, but we're ready for it."

The fans are equally eager for the match against Tanah Hijau. "We know it's going to be a tough match, but we have faith in our team," said one fan. "We know they'll give it their all and come out on top. Go Rice Farmers!"

12TH CMFA MANDALANUSA CUP GROUP STAGE MATCH TWO

OTKSARIN - 2
Chea Davidyan (12')
Nadim Nejem (56')

ISLAND OF THE LOST - 2
Andrew Rodriguez (31')
Sidrah Ali (88')

When I first appeared in an orange and black shirt for the Island of the Lost in our forgettable and disastrous campaign in the 51st Di Bradini Cup, nobody noticed me. Nobody paid any attention to me. I was just another young face in a young team that was about to be doomed to fail in one of the most ruthless competitions in the world. I was Muslim, yes, but since I was from Jafar City, nobody really cared beyond that. Almost everyone else from Jafar City was Muslim, so why should I stand out from anyone else who was from there? What made me any different from them all? Was there even something that made me different? Actually, yes, but it’s not something that you would be able to tell just by looking at me. It’s not something that’s physical, and I wouldn’t even say that it’s something mental. I know that this has expression has been memed to hell and back, but I’m not like most girls. Not like that, anyway. No, the thing that really makes me different from almost everyone else from Jafar City is that I’m only half-Lost. Yes, you read that right. No, I’m not joking.

I’m not really sure how my mom ended up living in the Island of Lost, specifically in Jafar City. She doesn’t seem to like talking about it. But I do know that she’s not from here; she’s actually from Eraman, and she came here at around the same time that the Island popped up in the Mandalanusa region. Mom met my dad five years after she had moved from Eraman, and three years later I was born. Really though, apart from the fact that my mother is Eramanian, there really isn’t anything that sets apart from almost everyone else who lives in Jafar City. And that was the way that my life has been for the most of my life. I was just another Jafari girl who liked to play football and support the Cobras whenever I could. At first though, I saw football as more of a hobby than anything else. I never thought that I was going to make a career out of it, but after some of my friends told me I should try out for our school’s football team, I went and joined the tryouts just for fun, but it turned out that I was actually quite good at playing the damn thing and the school brought me in almost immediately. A few years after that, I was now part of the Jafar City Cobras youth academy, and after that, I became a professional football player.

For the first few years of my footballing career, I was just your average midfielder who wanted to spread the ball throughout the field and supply the forward players with chances. It was easier to do in seven-a-side than the eleven-a-side that the rest of the world loved the play, but given that we’re no longer isolated from the rest of the world by the magical barrier, it was time for us to adapt. And I guess I must have adapted better than some of my peers because I was called up to be part of the under-21 team that went to Valanora to take part in the 51st Di Bradini Cup. However, I didn’t get many chances to come off the bench as we were battered by our opponents. We never managed to score a single goal against any of our opponents in Group B no matter the best efforts of everyone in the team. I wouldn’t say that I didn’t have a part in that, but I also believe that my teammates should have tried a little bit harder to just get on the end of a cross or a through ball or whatever. But nevertheless, we departed Valanora with our tails between our legs, and this performance was such an embarrassment to the Island, especially when you compare it to the fact that we’ve made it to the semifinals once before, that we’ve never been back in the Di Bradini Cup ever since.

Meanwhile, we’ve decided that the CMFA Cup was going to be the prize that we were going to chase. The first generation of Lost players, guys and girls like Rylee Ross and Devin Randall and Shulem Ott, they had the weight of the expectations of an entire nation on them, and though they did come close, they just couldn’t clear the final hurdle. The final of the 8th CMFA Cup (back when it was still called the Melayu Archipelago Cup) saw us lose the title to Trolleborg, and we haven’t been back in the final since. Come to think of it, I think the rest of the playoffs has eluded as well after that, which is probably to be expected given that our team was aging quite a bit. The fans knew it, the players knew it, and even the staff knew it. They tried to do a little swan song thing in the 11th CMFA Cup but it kind of fell flat given the age of almost everyone who was involved in that squad. At least their suffering wasn’t as prolonged as it probably would have been had they managed to somehow make the playoffs. Change was needed in this team. It needed new ideas, new blood. And new blood it was about to get.

I will admit that there was already a sort of expectation within myself that I was bound to get a call-up sooner or later due to the new direction that the Confederation’s national team was taking. However, as days turned to weeks and my phone still hadn’t rung. I was beginning to wonder if my phone was broken or if someone had put my number someplace where they had forgotten about it, but finally, after almost an entire month of waiting, I got the call. And at first that was supposed to be the end of it. I got the call to suit up, meet the rest of the team at the camp in Ursulopolis, and then fly to Otksarin for some more acclimatization training before the big one. I thought that was all that it was going to be. And then I heard something on the news about how this new-look Confederation team was going to be more inclusive and more representative of the Island’s presence among the nations of Mandalanusa, and I actually remember saying out loud, “What the fuck?” The questions started flooding into my head as soon as I saw that. Was that really why it took the Federation so long before finally calling me up? They were looking for people to make up some kind of Mandalanusan quota? I know that discrimination has long been a thing in the Island, which was only made more obvious during the Goblin Lives Matter riots many years ago, but there was just something about the addition of more players of Mandalanusan descent to the national team that didn’t sit right with me. I can’t really explain what it is, but it’s there, and I can’t stop thinking about it.

I haven’t yet said anything about it to anyone but I will, eventually. Things haven’t been going well for the team lately since we drew against the host nation. Otksarin isn’t a terrible team by any means, but we really thought we would be able to beat them. Instead, they were the ones that almost beat us if it hadn’t been for my free kick in the last few minutes of the 90 going into the back of the net. But I’m just trying to find a chance, an opportunity to raise the point. My real problem though is that I don’t really know who I should go to with regards to this. The manager seems like a good place to start, but for all I know, Samantha Knight is only following whatever the Federation told her, in which case I’m back to square one. But I don’t want to wait until we’re back in the Island to raise this issue. This needs to be addressed now. I need it to be addressed now. I’m not the kind of person to down tools and refuse to do things until I get what I want, but I want answers. Am I really here with the national team because I deserve to be here, or only because I fill a certain requirement for a quota? Honestly, I’m afraid of what the answer is going to be.

III
THE SIXTH GENERAL ELECTION
THE ERAMAN TRADITIONALIST PARTY

Tun Sin Usin's bendaharaship was supposed to be strong and stable with the former biggest opposition party, Eraman Traditionalist Party (ETP) now part of the ruling coalition. But that wasn't the case. Greed triumphed in Eraman as the fight for power was brought inside the National Front with both ENP and ETP fighting to be the dominant party in the state of Bakti. ETP had the most seats in Bakti but ENP controlled the federal government. So Tun Sin Usin used all the power that he has as the Bendahara to wrestle Bakti back from their coalition partner. His move? Buy ETP member of parliament. This caused the ETP to withdraw from the National Front and there was a stalemate in the Bakti state assembly. With the stalemate, again, Tun Sin Usin used his power as the Bendahara to give ENP the upper hand. His move? Declare emergency law in the state Bakti, the first time the law was used but has become Eraman's politicians' favorite move since then.

The fight between ENP and ETP was not new. It started even before democracy was introduced in Eraman. In fact, ETP is a splinter party of ENP. The party was established by a group of ENP leaders who believed that the existing Ieaders in ENP were not doing enough to address the needs and concerns of the Sanatana Karma community in Eraman. The founders of ETP believed that a new political party was needed that would focus on promoting Sanatana Karma values and advocating for the rights of its believers in Eraman. They saw the establishment of ETP as a way to give voice to the Sanatana Karma community and to work towards creating a more just and equitable society.

They failed to win a single seat in the first general election then got their first seat in the second general election before taking over control in the state of Bakti in the fourth general election. But ruling a state without the backing of the federal government proved to be hard. There was just not enough money to develop the state, deemed to be the poorest state in the country. So when Tun Ajak Usin offered them to be part of the National Front in his bid to oust Tun Man Wangsa, ETP gladly accepted. ETP leaders believed that by joining the National Front, they could push for more progressive policies and reforms that would benefit the Sanatana Karma majority in Eraman.

The alliance between ETP and the other parties in the National Front was not always smooth. ETP's Sanatana Karma stance often clashed with the more secular and moderate stance of the other parties in the National Front. ETP's relations with the other parties were also often strained by issues such as race, religion, and ethnic relations. The party's stance on issues such as race, religion, and ethnic relations became more controversial and increasingly at odds with the federal government. So when ENP openly tried to wrestle the state of Bakti from them, ETP decided that it was too much and left the National Front 1 year before the sixth general election.

However, their decision to leave the National Front ultimately proved to be a strategic mistake. Without the support of the other parties in the coalition, the ETP not just unable to form a government but also lost Bakti back to ENP. The National Front ultimately won the election. The ETP's performance in the election also resulted in a decline in support for the party in the following years, as many voters felt that the party had let them down by joining the National Front and has shown that they are not much different than ENP while they were in power.

Are We Really Comeback?

Otksarin — The luck seems to shine upon our team in this competition. Despite only getting one point in their last match against Southern Palm Islands, Soracana men's national football team still finished second in their group. Tied on points, Soracana is better in goal difference than Southern Palm Islands who is placed third. The result success to bring the country into the knockout stage for the third time in their participation history. In the knockout stage, Soracana will meet their neighbor and big brother, Pemecutan.

Soracana Islands have participate in this regional competition twice before. At the time, the name of the competition was still Melayu Archipelago Cup. The third edition of the competition was their first participation. The edition is a revival after the competition went hiatus for several years. The country entered for 2 editions before it turn into turmoil. And here they are, participated again for the third time and unexpectedly advance to the knockout stage. But could they going further?

Their next opponent, Pemecutan is and still the best country in the region. Top 10 of the world and first in the region, they are of course the favorite to win the competition. But alas, they haven't success to do so. Despite being the underdog, Soracana might be have the advantage. Most of Soracanian players are playing in Pemecutan football league. There are 4 Soracanian clubs that also playing in Pemecutan league. These fact makes the players have acknowledge the playing style of their opponent. Another advantage is some of Soracanian players have been playing in Pemecutan national team. This was happening during vassalage time. When Soracana was wrecked with civil war and military coup, Pemecutan save them. It resulted with Soracana brought under Pemecutan wing. The country is able to freely developed their domestic matters while defense and international matters were taken care by Pemecutan. During this time, cross players happened where Soracanian athletes were able to playing internationally under Pemecutan name. During this time too, many Soracanian athletes acquired a double citizenship.

Manager Sambaul stated despite these advantages he prepared an extra practice for the squad. "Knockout stage is about win or lose. There's no draw. The squad have to focus on the match and bring out the best of them," said Sambaul.

Sharktail Post EP 71

Otksarin : The 1-0 finish continues for Sharktail, but this time in favor of Pulang. Even so, Sharktail was lucky enough to book a slot to the quarter finals as the runner-up of group B.

Comfortable in position 1, Sharktail only needs one point to confirm as group champion. Arrogance and overconfidence can sometimes lead to bad consequences. That's the right word for Sharktail. Unfortunately, the expected 1 important point never arrived, instead three points were missed and almost consumed themselves.

Before going to the quarter final, Sahami and his team should make a proper revision and check back on Sharktail. Former Sharktail captain, Gaby said, their game not different from their two early games, but a thing might be better being checked, clearly playing a loss of touch in attacking department. Sharktail is known for their goal machine. Lots of players come and go but they are still able to score lots of goals, but now 3 games and only 2 goal scored. Ilias Rezal is a person of great caliber, that he now in his prime. Maybe the new tactics are a problem, but Sahami and his tactics are not the first time they have been applied. He was already in the team during Sahami's time before, so hopefully he can adapt again.

Eraman and Sharktail throughout MAC 12, two much different between both. Eraman scored 13 goals, and everyone should realize that how Sharktail in the past. Sendhang is playing more defensive style and have more goals than Sharktail. We can expect a low scoring game maybe, against Eraman, but are we actually able to score against them while preventing our side from being destroyed.

Quarter final against Eraman, it might be the continuation of the dream or the end of the journey. Let the game begin. Go Wi Go Sharktail.

Pulang - 1

Sharktail - 0

Despite the lack of funding, Otksarin football team continue marching on in MAC12
Reported by the Hangor Times

As the Gothanita Isles Football Confederation (GIFC) attempt to cobble a team for the upcoming World Cup Qualifiers, the Otksarin football team continues to push forward in the MAC after pulling off a series of spirited performances to pull through a group comprising of Island of the Lost, Ziwana, and Eraman.

Ahead of the national team's quarterfinal game against Sendhang in Tyakrita, Otksars have came out in full force pledging to support the united TGI team for the upcoming World Cup 93 Qualifiers, holding banners saying "we stand united". This was done following an anouncement from the GIFC confirming that they have secured funding for participation in the upcoming WCQ. "Looking at events in Handoria, we strongly believe that we should go back to what made us united in the first place, which is to utilise football as an opportunity to gather the people of the Confederation together," said a leader of the "Save TGI Football" movement, who wanted to be known as Mr Karpal.

Outside DKTS, Otksars have turned out in full force all around the country, promising support for the national team regardless of their performance. "Its unfortunate we have to play in such a small stadium, so fewer of us can be inside," said a fan. "But we are here to show our unity. Whether they win or not, this is a very good result for the team." Other fans also echo'd the sentiment, saying that every step is a "good step" for the team.

Otksarin head coach Jocob Hakarin has confirmed that he will play a "co-coach" role for the united team, and said that they would be looking for younger and strong players in the non-affected nations. "The issues in North Handoria are concerning, but we are still in contact with some Handorians who have indicated their willingness to be part of the united team. Other member nations would likely provide more players to tide over the process. Our focus, however, is to get back in touch with football by playing through this MAC."

That Surprising Win

Otksarin — The quarterfinal match of 12th Mandalanusa Cup has a bittersweet ending. Facing their southern neighbor, Pemecutan, Soracana squad was clearly seen being suppress by Pemecutan. The White Myna was in offensive line right from the start. These made Soracanian defense overwhelmed with a constant attacks from their opponent. However, Soracana still managed to give a counter attacks once or twice. One of these attacks successfully ended with a goal. Anggarjana success to scored the one and only goal in the match after a surprising counter attack which shock Pemecutanian defense. He singlehandedly drive the ball towards the goal. The goal was scored during injury time.

The match result change the atmosphere at the venue. The supporters of Pemecutan suddenly silence. The live broadcast also catch some of the supporters drop their tears. Back in the field, players from both countries hug each others. Sambaul came to Pramana's official box and expressed his gratitude for the great match. It was really a bittersweet ending. "We knows how hard Pemecutan struggled in this competition each edition when their hope and dream to lift the trophy have to go away. And this time, it is us who made that dream gone. As a close ally, I can say that we're deeply sorry for the result. But we hope that we can carry their dream to the end of the competition," said Sambaul.

In the semifinal, Sendhang has waited. The mainland team advance to semifinal after a tight match against the host country, Otksarin. Their match become the only quarterfinal match to end in penalty shootout. Facing the second best team in the region, the manager Rustijana Sambaul says that he have prepared for the worst. But he assure the fans that they will surely give an interesting match.

Into The Semifinal

The Arrows continue their great campaign in the 12th edition of Mandalanusa Cup after a confident win against Tanah Jaya in the quarterfinal. The 2 winning goals of Acastanha was scored by Gothrado and Adondare. This win confirmed their semifinal performance in the competition. This would be their fourth semifinal performance throughout their participating history. And the third consecutive semifinal placement. The win was praise by the supporters and fans both at Otksarin and back home. It is because the team won the match with some absent starter players.

In the semifinal, 2 times champions, Sharktail has waited for them. The small island nation down south was advancing to semifinal after surprisingly defeated Eraman. The blue shark campaign is rather unstable this edition. Winning 2 group stages match with only 2 goals. Losing to underdog, Pulang. They were almost pack their bag earlier if not because Pulang have the lowest three-way head-to-head. But in quarterfinal, Sharktail seems to showing their true self. Defeating the more favorited Eraman is a great deal. That was the second surprise and upsets in the quarterfinal matches this edition. The other of course Pemecutan defeat against their little brother, Soracana Islands.

In the semifinal match, Archanankar is still using the quarterfinal squad composition. The players are still absent and the manager don't want to force their recovery. "We still have the World Cup ahead of us. So they are better prepare themselves for a bigger stadium. Each and every players must get into their best shape and stamina to face the Shark," said Archanankar. He also added that the semifinal match is crucial and he doesn't want to make a slight mistake. He is aiming the final for sure.

12TH CMFA MANDALANUSA CUP
Quarter-Final

The streets of Tyakrita were buzzing with excitement as the Sendhangites made their way to the DKTS stadium, eager to make their mark for the big occasion, the quarter-final match of the 12th CMFA Mandalanusa Cup against the host, Otksarin. As they took their seats, it was apparent that the Sendhangites were hugely outnumbered by the home fans inside the 26,150-capacity DKTS. Even though outnumbered, they had high expectations of the players and were hoping to go through to the semi-final.

Inside the dressing room, Sendhang's star striker, Teuku Salahudin was feeling the pressure.

"We've got to win this," Salahudin said to Jorok Mendriq who was sitting next to him.

Joroq nodded. "I know. We must."

The thousands of Sendhangites inside DKTS were on the edge of their seats, cheering and singing as their team took to the field. With the team captain and goalkeeper, Albertus Wageo leading the way.

Salahudin was immediately involved, using his pace to test Otksarin's defense as soon as the referee blew the kick-off whistle. The first half was intense, with both teams putting in a strong performance. In the 20th minute, Salahudin received the ball on the edge of the box and dribbled past his marker. "This is it," he thought, as he shoot towards the bottom corner. But Pleasance Jankovics, the Otksarin goalkeeper was up to the task of denying Salahudin.

"I thought that was going in," Salahudin thought, amazed by the fingertip save.

As the teams headed into the dressing room at halftime, Salahudin sat down and took a deep breath. "We need to take our chances," he thought.

Salahudin was determined to make an impact. He knew that the next 45 minutes could make or break Sendhang's hope of winning the CMFA Mandalanusa Cup for the first time. As he took to the field for the second half, he felt a rush of adrenaline. This was his chance to make a difference for Sendhang who had never tasted success in any international competition yet.

Salahudin worked tirelessly in the second half to create opportunities for himself and his team. He chased down loose balls, made clever runs, and tried to get himself into scoring positions. However, Otksarin's defense was solid and nothing went through. Despite his best efforts, the score remained 0-0 even after an additional 30 minutes of extra time and the match was forced to be decided by penalties.

Salahudin was the last penalty taker for Sendhang that night with the score at 3-3 after Otksarin missed twice and Sendhang missed once. He knew that the fate of the match was in his hands. Score and Sendhang will be in the semi-final or miss and the penalty shootout goes on. As he struck the ball, it flew past Pleasance Jankovics and into the back of the net. The Sendhang supporters erupted in cheers, celebrating their team's hard-fought victory, singing and shouting the team's praises as the home fans made their way out of the stadium.

Sendhang had secured a place in the semi-final of the 12th CMFA Mandalanusa Cup.

Sharktail Post EP 72

Otksarin : As if achieving a long-cherished dream, Sharktail managed to book a ticket to the MAC 12 semi-finals defeating their main rival, Eraman 4-2. Sharktail advances to the semi-finals and will meet Acastanha. It will be a match that is difficult to guess the ending.

Back to the action against Eraman, everything was in their favor before the match. Sahami should be happy and proud of the sudden improvement in the performance of his men compared to the group stage. The sharpness of the finishing machine led by Ilias terrorized again, tearing Eraman's goal with 4 goals.

The player with the most important role in this match can be given to the field general, Azaim. 1 goal and 2 assists in addition to doing a lot of recovery in the Sharktail penalty area, it is very appropriate for him to get the man of the match trophy.

"For me, he is the best active player that Sharktail has. Skill, hardworking, talent, he has it, at least double or triple than any other Sharktail player. If he is off form, it hurts to see him playing, but when he is on form, he is very agile and makes it difficult for opponents to control him. Can be used as a planner, finisher, and even a decoy for the opposing team to focus more on him, leaving other players somewhat free to move around."

Sharktail scored 4 goals, one from Azaim, 2 from Ilias and one from a header from defender Maqri. While Eraman's goal was scored by Putra Daulapura and Era Hitam.

The action of Sharktail and Acastanha is the focus match in addition to the surprise of Soracana Island crushing the acceleration to compete for a Final slot with Sendhang. Show up your support to Sharktail, Go wi Go Sharktail.

12TH CMFA MANDALANUSA CUP
Semi-Final

Sendhang's opponent in the semi-final was Soracana Islands, a team that had surprised everyone in the quarter-final by beating the strongest team in the region, Pemecutan, with a scoreline of 1-0. News of Soracana Islands' victory spread quickly and became the main talking point among football fans in the region. Many were excited about the upcoming semi-final between Sendhang and Soracana Islands.

Everyone was curious to see how Sendhang would fare against a team, who was only making their first appearance after seven editions hiatus and had just beaten Pemecutan, a country ranked 6 in the world. However, despite Soracana Islands' seven editions hiatus, with Salahudin playing in the Pemecutan League, the same league that the Soracana Islands' clubs were playing in, Sendhang knew exactly what to expect from them.

"Din, Soracana Islands is a strong team, and they're not to be underestimated," warned Teuku Irfan, the head coach of Sendhang during one of the training sessions leading up to the much-anticipated semi-final.

Salahudin nodded, taking in the coach's words. "I know. I have played against most of them. They are good," he said.

Rightly so, the match was a hotly contested one with both teams showing that they want to win the match more than their opponent but neither could find the breakthrough as the match ended 0-0 after 120 minutes dragging the match into the penalty shootout. It was anyone's game in the penalty shootout and every single penalty taker for both teams in the first six kicks converted their penalty.

But then, in Soracana Islands' seventh kick, Albertus Wageo made the save, the first penalty on the night not to be converted. The Sendhang fans inside the stadium erupted into cheers. But the match was not won yet, it was still 6-6 when Niko Kefalo stepped up to be Sendhang's seventh penalty-taker of the night. All eyes were on the 32-years old KS Larantuka left back as he made his way to the penalty spot.

Despite the noises inside the North Pekatanan Stadium, Niko managed to remain calm, after all, he was a veteran of the national team and had experienced big nights at both club and international levels. Everyone inside the stadium was nervous as Niko put the ball on the spot. With just a short step, he put the ball into the back of the net, sending Aksabala Jandisugan the wrong way, and securing the 7-6 victory for Sendhang.

Sendhang, for the first time ever, qualified for the final of the CMFA Mandalanusa Cup.

And the Final We Come

The semifinal match against the Blue Shark was one of the toughest for Acastanha. The Arrows was forced to create numerous strategies to break Sharktail defense. While on the other hand, they have to prepare for the Blue Shark quick counter attack. The match became interestingly stalemate as both teams failed to scored any goal in the first half of the match. The Arrows finally able to break Sharktail goal in minute 73 by a goal from Marenke. The goal was triggered from a corner kick made by Ustankar. Marenke was given the ball after Sharktailian defense heavily guarded Gothrado and Kalchankar. Free from any defenses, Marenke shot the ball confidently. Maxter, Sharktailian goalkeeper was late to response and the ball went through the goal line. The goal is Marenke's first international goal. And it is also the one and only goal in the match which bring Acastanha to the final match.

It does like a dream for the Arrows to be able to reached this far. After their devastated campaign in CoH, the fans seems to be sceptical about their national team. Especially after the manager change even though the change was supported by the fans. But their journey in Mandalanusa Cup have been a phenomenal one. A perfect score in group stage. Scores the highest goals also in the group stage. Although their quarterfinal match was quite easy as they were facing Tanah Jaya. The real test came in semifinal when they were facing 2 times champion, Sharktail. And they pass the test. And now for the ultimate test. The Final. Acastanha is not a new team in final of Mandalanusa Cup. They have reached the stage once at the 10th edition. Unfortunately, they were defeated by the eventual champion, Eraman. And today is their second chance to make up their defeat. However, their opponent would be Sendhang. The second best team in the region, currently. Although some might questioning the title as they were struggling to advance to final. Sendhang have to go through a penalty shootout to defeat the comeback team, Soracana Islands. Soracana surely give a great performance in the competition. Their win against Pemecutan in quarterfinal was the match of the edition. But by seeing how Sendhang win against this new power, the Arrows have to be prepare. Sendhang could be their next nightmare.

What A Journey

Otksarin — The journey of Soracana Islands in the 12th Mandalanusa Cup is like a rewind to their past success. Although this time, their journey bring them to the third place match. But it is still a tremendous comeback. No one have ever predicted that Soracana will made a comeback to the regional stage. The country (and its athletes) seems to cozying around as part of Pemecutan. Well, that is because they are forced to do so. But as the restriction is lifted, the country is free to enter to any international competition. And their first choice is Mandalanusa Cup. "We do want to start from the club level but Mandalanusa Cup comes first. So, why not?" said Janabala Kayapadan, SIFA President.

During the transition period, Soracana did have to gave up their football domestic league. The A-League was demoted as the third level competition in Pemecutan league pyramid system. After 2 seasons, PFA change the system again and Soracana's A-League become the fourth level league below Nusa Division. This decision hurt Soracanian football fans. And SIFA officially pull out A-League from Pemecutan league system. While 4 Soracanian clubs that already playing in the top 2 tier retain their participation and decline to move from the league. The objection especially came from Nilayam United. The biggest club in Soracana have experience a series of international participation. "A-League won't be going anywhere as long as we are still under Pemecutan control," said Nilayam United president at the time. The club then achieve their peak performance in 1783 season after becoming the first treble winner in Pemecutan domestic league history. Nilayam United won the league, domestic cup and regional championship title in one season. The club's achievement is praised by the whole country of Soracana.

But the A-League continue to run. A one year hiatus was enough to replan the whole domestic league. And 2 years ago, Soracana Islands domestic league is successfully rebooted. Despite the winner was not eligible to compete in any regional or international competitions, the clubs are still enthusiastic to compete. And with the absent of the Big 4 Clubs which participate in Pemecutan domestic league, new champions emerges. Aksamara City FC and Pasahnehu Athletic won the last 2 seasons. It also see the rise of clubs from Nehu Province. Pasahnehu Athletic and Halangnehu SC.
