Below is the IC information for the IBA Championships...

Racquetsports & Wintersports Venues

Ubung
Badminton
Squash
Table Tennis
Tennis

Welcome to Ubung, the largest city in Pemecutan by population. Located on the northern shore of Giri Island, Pemecutan main island, the city is crossed by the Tonya River. Ubung is one out of two federal cities in the country. The other being the capital, Puradhipa. The city is the economic center of Pemecutan with Port of Ubung and Ubung International Airport as their economic driving forces. It's also home to the largest private broadcaster in the country, UBC (Ubung Broadcasting Company). Gajamina, a mythical creature of half elephant and half fish is the city's mascot.

In the sports world, the city is home to Pesub Ubung, one of the most successful association football clubs in the country. The city has also hosted several national and international sports events. The most notable would be Ubung Open and Merta Gangga Championships, both are NSTT sanctioned competitions. Ubung Arena, the football stadium, was one of the venues during the 7th Melayu Archipelago Cup. A regional national team association football competition held in Pemecutan. And this time, Ubung is proud to welcome all athletes and officials from the members of the International Broadcasting Association as part of the IBA Championships Indoor and Winter Sports competition which will be held in the city.

Ubung will be hosting the indoor sports competition of Badminton, Squash, Table Tennis and of course Tennis. The organizer has selected 3 venues to accommodate the said events;

  • Gangga Assembly Hall
Located in Merta Gangga district, Gangga Assembly Hall is the center of Ubung's many national, regional and international events. Consisting of 2 main buildings, Baruna and Segara Hall, the venue can accommodate up to 10,000 people. Currently, it serves as the venue of Ubung Open and Merta Gangga Championships. So, it is a perfect location for the tennis competition.

For the competition, the venue will be transformed into a 10-courts tennis club with the two main courts located in both the main Hall of Baruna and Segara.
  • Barunajaya Country Club
This venue is located in Baruna district. It is one of the most luxurious country clubs in the country. The club consists of several interesting spots such as the Baruna Tennis Academy, 18-hole Barunajaya Golf Course, Olympic size swimming pool, outdoor basketball field, sports climbing spot and futsal center. But don't forget, the main building also hold some interesting activities such as cooking class, carpentry class, traditional dance class, music course which includes traditional gamelan class and modern music class, painting and yoga class.

For the IBA Championships, Barunajaya Country Club will host the Squash events. These events will be held in the Baruna Tennis Academy.
  • Ubung Sports Center
It is located in Ubung district. Ubung Sports Center is the oldest sports venue in the city and the first sports complex made in the country. Despite not as extensive as Tegeh Kori Sports Complex, the sports center hold several venues such as Ubung Arena (football and athletics), Mayadenawa Indoor Hall (basketball or volleyball), The Cube Arena (badminton), Grha Lila Bhuana (multi purpose hall) and some outdoor venues for sports climbing and skateboarding. It is also accommodated with 2 tennis clay-court.

The IBA Championships Badminton and Table Tennis event will be held here. The Cube Arena for badminton and Grha Lila Bhuana for table tennis events.

Getting in and around Ubung

Air transportation is the easiest way to reach the city, especially for foreign athletes. Guests will arrive at Ubung International Airport which is located in Pagutan, a neighboring municipality east of the city. For the one who enjoys long travel, seaborne transportation is the answer. They will arrive at the passenger terminal of Port of Ubung located in Baruna district.

Within the city, guests can choose a number of public transportation choices. From buses to subway trains, the city is highly interconnected. Athletes and officials will be given pamphlets that explain the transportation of the city so they won't get lost.

Do's and Don't
Aside from its status as the Pemecutan economy center, Ubung is also a tourist magnet. You can visit several museums such as Museum Bahari (Sea Museum) in Baruna district, Ubung Historical Museum in Ubung district or Gajamina Museum in Ulun Pasih district which display the journey of one of Pemecutan oldest companies, Gajamina Group. You can experience a variety of foods from local food stalls and restaurants into vegan restaurants.

But tourists and guests have to know about the Pemecutan restriction. Such as designated smoking areas in public places. Pemecutan has some law regarding age of consent. Like 18 years old for smoking and 21 years old for drinking. And despite Ubung being quite progressive, PDA (public display of affection) is frowned upon. Younger generation might ignore the action but the older generation might look down on you. Lastly, always check local traffic news. The majority Dharma Tirta believers have quite a lot of festivities and holy ceremonies which use the streets. So, you have to check local news to avoid getting caught in traffic because of that.

And for the closer, Enjoy Ubung!

Rëndstÿrna
Bobsleigh
Skeleton
Luge

Rëndstÿrna is the undisputed wintersport capital of Darkmania, as the town is famous for its snowy mountains and for it’s long tradition with wintersports. You can find everything from ice hockey to alpine skiing, from biathlon to even Mogol skiing. But the town also have an international sliding centre, fit for international luge, skeleton and bobsleigh. The sliding centre serves as the official IBA Sliding Championships.

Our Darkmanian primary venue is called “Rëndstÿrna Nätionaljë Bäcke”, or in English “Rënstÿrna National Sliding Centre”. It is commonly abbreviated as either “RNB” or “RNSC”. There has been sliding at the arena where the venue is located since 1971 when it the first track was opened. The old track was closed in 2015 as it was seen as too dangerous and too old and was rebuild and reopened as brand-new sliding centre in 2018. It also hosted a round of the NS Sliding World Cup in 2018. The track is seen as quite fast with technical corners. None of the corners have known names as of presentation.

Isle Harmondsworth. You haven’t heard of it, have you? What if I mentioned Burgendore and Ghiez - those are the two major urban areas that are on Isle Harmondsworth (also colloquially called Ghiezland as Ghiez used to be the most populated city on the island). Isle Harmondsworth is the most populated of Britonisea’s offshore islands, with a grand total of 2.8 million people living on the one island - its the second largest in terms of size. The island is known for the two cities which is located on it - Burgendore (home to 1.3 million people within city limits) and Ghiez (home to 596,000 people in city limits) while the rest of the population lives in the Isle’s lush green forestry and mountainous rural areas. While some of the events will be hosted in these urban areas, fans from across the International Broadcasting Alliance will be treated to the picturesque sights that the Isle has to offer - it is most definitely worth it.

Burgendore, the largest but the youngest of the two cities, has history hosting fantastic events. Burgendore hosted group stage matches of the Mercedini-lead World Cup of Hockey 46 in it’s Burgen (VEFEKOM) Arena (which will feature as a main venue to host events at the IBA Championships, hosted qualifiers in its the DEXTER Burgendore Stadium (the largest stadium in the city) as well as host the 43rd World Hit Festival. Ghiez, on the other hand, hasn’t had as much attention as its larger counterpart but it will play a major role in the hosting of this tournament.

Together, Burgendore and Ghiez will be hosting 24 medal events throughout the whole duration of the tournament, with the finals of the men and women ice hockey happening in Ghiez also bringing the total up to 26 medal events - that’s half of the events offered at these Games. Below you can find the list of venues in Britonisea that will be hosting the event…

  • Burgen Arena, Burgendore

Known as the “Vefekom” Arena, sponsored by Britonisea’s largest telephone company, the arena will be known just as the Burgen Arena throughout the duration of the IBA Championships. The Burgen Arena as previously mentioned, has hosted international events with the IBA Sports Championships another fantastic event that it can add to its ever-growing roster.

For the Champs, the Burgen Arena will be hosting the short track speed skating alongside figure skating (except for the women’s final). In the event that short track and figure skating events clash, the finals are hosted in the evening session - usually after 6pm - whereas the qualifications end before 1pm).

  • University of Burgendore, Gymnasium

The University of Burgendore: Central Campus, while students are away for the holidays, will be transformed into a curling paradise as all the events will happen on campus. Students who have decided to stay over the Christmas period will be able to earn a little bit of extra cash, helping out by making sure that everything is running smoothly at the university. For fans, they will be able to not only watch the curling, but they will be able to get involved with mini wintersport events that the students have created to help you get in the feel of the event!

Campuses of the University of Burgendore will be the location where athletes who are participating in Britonish events will compete, with the canteens being open to athletes during the event. Please ask for more information to know which campus your athlete will be staying at.

  • Harmondsworth Jumping Centre, Ghiez

The Harmondsworth Jumping Centre will be a focal point of the IBA Championships. This legendary venue is nestled on the Ghiez half of Isle Harmondsworth and at this time of year - it will be covered in luxury pure white snow. It is in and amongst the mountains, so TV viewers (and people who are there in person too) will see a spectacular backdrop of the events. Harmondsworth Jumping Centre might be outside Ghiez’s city centre, but it is still fairly easy to get to from both Ghiez and Burgendore which is why the venue was chosen. There will be increased train and coach capacity, with clear signposting for those who want to drive to the Jumping Centre themselves.

For the Champs, the Harmondsworth Jumping Centre will host the ski-jumping from MD1 - 4 and then host the gundersen nordic combined jumping events. Harmondsworth Jumping Centre is, as mentioned, nestled between mountains, and so this area will also serve as the location for the skiing portion of that particular event as well

  • Ghiez Maine Arena, Ghiez

The description for this arena is below under “Ice Hockey Venues”...

For the champs, Ghiez Maine Arena will be hosting speed skating, figure skating and the finals of ice hockey…

Ice Hockey Venues

Split between women and men, there will be at least seven Ice Hockey groups. Ice Hockey stadiums will be split across both Britonisea and Darkmania with the former hosting the knock-out matches while the latter hosts the round-robin matches. Every Ice Hockey group will stay in their given arena for the duration of the group stage. Below is the list of venues that will host the upcoming competition.

Group Stage Arenas

Lëiberbörg, Darkmania – Söwberhak (10,000)
Lëiberbörg has always been seen as the religious capital of Darkmania, that referring to it being the biggest city within the darkmanian bible belt. And it is also unsurprising that it is also the de facto capital for the darkmanian church who does most of their national work there. So, it is also a shock when Lëiberbörg also is known as the most socialist city, due to a noted tendency to elect socialist mayors at local elections. Their last non-socialist mayor was elected in 1986. So, the 8th biggest city in Darkmania has the Lëiberbörg Cathedral and right next to the headquarters to the Socialist Party of Darkmania. You have to see it to believe it.

Söwberhak is the venue that will serve as one of the darkmanain venues. Home to the Lëiber Söwber (Polar Bears), you can find 10 000 white and ice-blue coloured seats and one of the most loyal fans. The Söwber Curse where fans are banned from brining anything orange (long story) is not in force for this tournament.

Jëlsmärke, Darkmania – Coppers Arena (5,000)
Jëlsmärke is a small town with “only” 25 000 inhabitants but it is also known for having a rich mining heritage, once being the town that produced the largest volume of copper and coal for Darkmania, a legacy that has left its mark is the fact that it is the smallest place with a “metro”. Why they call it a metro is not known as it is just an old tramway from the 1910’s with five stations, but it has been called a “metro” due to local slang, and as such has been recognized as a metro.

Jëlsmärke is also famous for their team. “Jëlsmarkë Coppers” is one of the top teams in Darkmanian Ice Hockey, having won 17 national titles since 1944 when “Coppers”. The name comes from the fact that copper was mined in Jëlsmarkë. They have their home in Builerman Arena, dubbed “Coppers Arena” for the tournament, a venue from the 1970’s to provide an indoor venue for the team, replacing the old outdoor ice rink. Jëlmarkë Arena is also the smallest venue played at the IceLeague, only hosting 5 000.

Knock-out stage arenas

Loueske Arena, Loueske (13,000) [Men]

The town centre of Loueske is home to just over 100,000 people but its urban area is nearly home to 700,000 people. It has been noted that Loueske has one of the youngest population with over 35% of people being under the age of 16. The reason that it was decided to bring some Ice Hockey matches to Loueske is to try and get the youth engaged in the event and perhaps take on an interest in participating in Ice Hockey with amateur tournaments happening widely across northern authorities such as Loueske.

Loueske Arena is a relatively major arena in the north of the country and is the only one of this magnitude that serves the whole of Loueske. Loueske Arena is usually a hotspot for music talent across the north with many fans of grassroots musicians trying to make it big congregating in Loueske to head to one of these music events.

Central Exhibition Centre, Machievelihe (11,450) [Women]

Machievelihe is one of the major cities in Britonisea with its urban area being the 9th largest and home to 1.2 million people. Machievelihe is best known for being the largest city in the north-west of the city, while also serving as the interchange for routes between the south of Britonisea (ie Kyvivre, Doportedas and Tonesk) to either Eaux City, Alshkan or Loueske & Solice. Machievelihe is also known for being one of the six cities that has hosted the WorldVision Song Contest but did not host it in the arena which will be used for this tournament.

Central Exhibition Centre in Machievelihe is the city's second-largest venue. CEC is one of Britonisea's multi-purpose large indoor venues that can be used for any type of event and in this case, it will be the women's Ice Hockey that will be hosted here.

Final arena

Ghiez Maine Arena, Ghiez (18,000)

Ghiez is the smaller of the two cities that is located on Isle Harmondsworth and will be co-hosting the IBA Championships Wintersports with Burgendore. Ghiez is home to just under 600,000 people, making it the 20th largest urban area in Britonisea. While Ghiez is slightly upstaged by its larger counterpart Burgendore, the city still has a bustling atmosphere which will only be enhanced by many of the events at the IBA Wintersports Championships being hosted there. Ghiez is also home to world-class facilities including its offering at for Ice Hockey.

The Ghiez Maine Arena has an overall capacity of over 25,000 people but this will be slightly lower for the IBA Championships. The arena is the largest one in Isle Harmondsworth and is actually one of the largest arenas in the whole of Britonisea. The Ghiez Maine Arena will host the final matches of the Ice Hockey for both men and women - the arena will be a focus sport for a couple of other sports too - speed skating and figure skating with our fantastic team transforming the arena in the matter of hours (the Ice Hockey finals will happen in the night time after the figure skating which happens during the day).

Second IBA Sports Championships 2023- Vol 1

Dear viewers, welcome to the show dedicated to the second edition of the IBA Sports Championship.
My name is Livio Kržić.
This is the first introductory show about this competition. All you respected viewers will be able to watch live broadcasts from all arenas from December 15.
Our sports delegation and Olympic federation are always happy to respond to IBA sports competitions.
Our first introduction was through football, specifically the IBA Champions League. Our clubs achieved good results.
The first major multi-sport competition was at the first The IBA Sports Championships.
Our athletes were second in the total number of medals with 18 medals won, and third in terms of gold medals won.
The total at the end was 6 gold medals, 5 silver and 7 bronze medals.
This year we will have a large delegation with more world sports stars than the previous competition.
This season, the competition will be divided into IBA Racquetsports Championships which will be held in Ubung, Pemecutan and includes Badminton, Squash, Table-Tennis and Tennis. A total of 17 medals will be awarded in these sports.
The second part of the competition is the IBA Wintersports Championships, which will be divided into two hosts.
Luge, Bobsleigh & Skeleton, 10 medal events, will be hosted at the Rëndstÿrna Nätionaljë Bäcke in Rëndstÿrna, Darkmania.
Curling, Figure Skating, Nordic Combined, a reduced short track speed skating and speed skating and ski jumping program alongside Ice Hockey, 26 medal events, will be hosted on Isle Harmondsworth in the two major cities of Burgendore and Ghiez, Britonisea.

Well, when we're talking about our big sports names that will perform, then we should start with the Olympic medalists.

ANA TURKULJA - SKI JUMPING

Ana is our most successful competitor in this sport. She was a four-time National Champion on the Normal Hill and added three more titles on the Large Hill. In total, she achieved 32 victories in the national championship and climbed the podium 46 times.
She achieved her first victory 6 years ago when she was only 17 years old.
At the age of 23, she achieved a great career.
On the international scene, she won 5 Olympic medals, three in individual competition and two in team competition.
In Clayquot, she won her first medal, a bronze on the normal hill. The most successful games for her were in Liventia, when she became the Olympic winner on the Large Hill and won two more medals, silver on the Normal Hill and bronze in the team. At the last games in Eiran Montains; Youngyeoung won the team silver medal.
At the first DRESS competition (Dotivija, Srednjaci, Raspotochje and East Slavona), she won four gold medals. Two in individual competition (Normal Hill and Large Hill) and two team golds, women's team and mixed team.
He has a total of 9 international world medals! A fantastic career and a true star of this sport.
"I'm looking forward to the new competition. It will be new challenges in my career. Maybe I'm not in the best shape this season and the competition is fierce, but that certainly doesn't mean I won't do my best.
I don't have high expectations, but I look forward to every day and every performance. I will visit a country I have never been to and I will try to have as much fun as I can. "

Ana Tea Lozančić will perform alongside her.

ANA TEA LOZANČIĆ - SKI JUMPING

At the last national championship, this girl became the national champion in both vaults. She won 18 times in the national championship, including 9 this season. In addition, she climbed to the podium 26 times, 10 of which this season. A very successful season for her, unlike the previous ones when she was "eternal second".
Ana Tea Lozančić is 21 years old and has won 3 Olympic medals. He has one bronze in the individual competition and silver and bronze from team competitions.
However, we are somehow of the opinion that her time is yet to come.
At the DRESS competition, she has silver with Normal Hill, bronze with Large Hill and two team golds, women's team competition and mixed.
Certainly this young girl is someone who has a bright future ahead of her.

Speaking of presentation, we must also point out that the lists of our team members have arrived.
The associations have sent a detailed list of passengers who will represent us in ice hockey (men's and women's teams), curling (men's and women's teams), speed skating (men's and women's teams), bobsleigh (men's four).

Rosters for the Second IBA Sports Championships

Trigramme: EJM
Denomyn: Elejamian
Broadcaster: ETV Two
National anthem: A Hymn for Elejamie (Himno del Elejamia; Elejam Him)

Curling is more of a niche sport in Elejamie, only being played recreationally at a few ice rinks across the country. However, there are a few recreational leagues, mostly in the south-west of the country. In the men's first go-around at the XII Winter Olympics, the men finished dead last in their group whereas the women finished second from last; both had the same record of 1-3. Their second go-around at XIII was a lot better, with the men finishing second from last whilst the women finished second in their group, only falling 7-6 to Eastfield Lodge. Considering that both Curling teams are made up purely of amateurs, there's no real hope that they'll actually win anything but it'll still be a fun excursion nonetheless. While the men's team had to make a couple of changes due to Jonny Rafaeli being unavailable and Paul Leslie's mandatory retirement stemming from health issues, the women's team is composed of entirely the same team from both of the aforementioned tournaments.

Ice hockey is the most popular sport in Elejamie, followed by football/soccer (both are acceptable in Elejamie) and rugby [union], In fact the men's national team, nicknamed the Ice-a-phants, are one of the best teams in the multiverse, having won the tournament five times (29, 31, 35, 43 and 49), finished runners-up four times (30, 32, 44 and 48) and finished third three times (28, 37, 46). They also won the men's gold at the XII Winter Olympics but it was with a B-team made up of ENIHL2 players rather than the actual WCoH-winning squad (who were a lot less fortunate when they showed up for XIII where they crashed and burned in the Ro16).

In fact, speaking of the B-team, the EIHB announced on the 1st December that the main squad will only participate in the World Cup of Hockey, whereas a specially-made B-team will compete in the Winter Olympics or smaller tournaments. This will be made up of players who play in the ENIHL2, play in the second division abroad, play in struggling teams in a foreign top league or play in a top league where ice hockey isn't that big of a sport and thus the national team kind of struggles. This was because a) they consider the World Cup of Hockey to be more important when it comes to international ice hockey, b) to avoid any embarrassment to their all-star squad gets beaten by a team who rarely if ever takes part in the WCoH and c) to give players in the lower league a chance to shine on the international stage. While it will be mostly new players, as well as a couple who would've been selected for the XII gold-winning squad had it not been for other issues, they were still able to gel together quite well and even had a couple of friendly matches against Britonisea, who were sending their best of the best.

]Women's ice hockey, however, had a bit of a slow start; while there were women's university teams since the early 80s, there were no professional teams or a separate women's league. A national team was formed in 1992 whereas the ENWIHL (Elejamian National Women's Ice Hockey League) was proposed in 1994 and the season finally launching in the Autumn of 1996.

Compared to their male counterparts, the women's ice hockey team were a bit less successful at the Winter Olympics. They made it to the quarter-finals in XII, which seemed like it'd be a good stepping stone for their appearance at the following Winter Olympics. Right? Wrong! They finished dead last in their group with two losses out of two games in XIII, although one was a 1-0 shoot-out loss after OT couldn't break a 1-1 deadlock and the other was just a single 1-0 defeat, so at least they had quite a solid defence. Hopefully they'll finally manage to do decently here, with a new generation of ENWIHL players (including Lorna Peterson, who had some experience with international ice hockey when she was chosen for the Junior Ice-a-phants) along with a few old faces and a new group of coaches.

While there are a few recreational bobsleighing tracks located around Elejamie, this is pretty much an all-amateur thing and the team's pretty much made up of both men's duobobbers, so there's no real need for me to go into any detail. Also the positions were decided thanks to a series of runs that saw them try each variation up to five times over the span of three days, with the fastest combination being the one that'll be chosen for their official runs over in Rëndstÿrna.

Medal hopes: There is a hope that the Britonish team will win big in the racquetsport championships - with targets set at 4 gold medals. The wintersports championships held in Britonisea hopefully will see the nation gain some medals there, especially in the curling where it has been noted that Britonisea will is the strongest nation in those events. The overall hope is that the Britons will win 10 gold medals or 25 in total - a usual medal target for the Olympics but with the number of nations participating, and the number of gold medals available (54), the Britons are setting their targets high.

Godmod injuries to my players: Yes

P.s. Have as much fun with my teams as you'd like.

Curling Roster

Team Captain: Isis Kold

• Position: Skip

• Background: The only thing cooler than the Ice Rink is Isis.  Often seen sporting sunglasses inside the rink and wearing hawaiian shirt, his laid-back attitude is all a front : he's really hyper-competitive.

Brian Curling

• Position: Lead

• Background: Brrr-ian doesn't like the cold. Indeed, coming from tropical regions of Beepee he hadn't seen ice until a trip to Aenglide when he was 18.

Maurice Bergs

• Position: Second

• Background: More, as he's known to his friends, may seem aloof at first.  But dont worry if he gives you the cold shoulder.  He'll melt as soon as you show him some warmth.

Stone Throer

• Position: Vice Skip

• Background: Stone is the muscles of the group and enjoys lifting the stones above his head as a warm up exercise.  He believes this helps him 'perceive' how the stone will react when pushed.

Reserve: Cole Durr

• Background: Cole might be the reserve, but he's sure to play a keen supporting role cheering loudly from the side lines.

Bobsleigh Roster

Team Captain: Robert Slae

• Position: Driver

• Background: Bob, as he's known, is a fearless driver.  He enjoys fast turns and fast food, often at the same time.  He'll often be seen eating a protein bar as he slides down the course.

Brook Downe

• Position: Brakeman

• Background: Brook is a stern man, and very serious in his outlook.  Indeed, he is so serious its rumoured he that he once managed to stop a sled by glaring at it.

Jake Sellers

• Position: Pusher

• Background: Jake is a fast and powerful pusher, earning him the nickname "Ice King."

Justin Thyme

• Position: Crewman

• Background: Justin is always last minute.  Legend has it that during his first bobsleigh event, missed the first three runs and only showed up for the final run, having mistaken the starting time for the after-party.

Reserve: Sean Frost

• Position: Reserve

• Background: Sean is the team's 'versatile' reserve, ready to slide into any position.  He's capable of being at the front or the back of the sled.

CURLING
Men's (1 nation)
Malta Comino Gozo;MCG;7

Malta Comino Gozo is currently participating in the second IBA Sports Championships and is making its debut in men's Curling. Winter sports are relatively unknown in the country, and such sports have limited facilities. However, Curling, a sport that has seen a surge in popularity in recent years, has managed to find a place in the country. A small curling rink has been built on the outskirts of Balluħa, and numerous young male athletes from Briarwood University have taken up the sport and formed the first-ever MCGoan curling team.

The national team hopes to achieve a good result in its debut tournament and make a name for itself on the international stage. Despite being relatively inexperienced, the team is dedicated and has been training hard to prepare for the Championships. They have been training hard on their technique, strategy, and teamwork to ensure they are ready to face some of the best teams in the world.

The five players on the MCG curling team are:
1. Marco Azzopardi
2. Gianluca Camilleri
3. Daniel Farrugia
4. Bruno Grech
Reserve 5. Stanley Mifsud

Netball is relatively popular in MCGoan schools but is rarely played at a professional level. The women's team consists of players from Briarwood University.

Pemecutan or officially, United Kingdom of Pemecutan is represented by United Pemecutan Olympic Committee (UPOC) will be competing in the 2023 IBA Sports Championship event. In this edition, there are 3 main events, Racquet sports (which is held in Pemecutan), Winter sports and Netball championship. And for this edition, the country entered in 2 of 3 main events with the complete absence in netball. Despite the current political status of Pemecutan with the breakout of Kanginan and Petang Islands, but their athletes who already been included in Pemecutan delegation are retain their participation in the championship. A similar situation applied to Soracanian athletes who already used to play under Pemecutan flag.

UPOC confirmed to send 71 athletes in 8 sports/disciplines. It is also become the debut of Pemecutan curling delegation in their preparation to the upcoming XVIII Winter Olympics. And Pemecutan first ever squash team which is known as sports for the wealthy in the country.

Athletes Get Ready for IBA Sports Championship

Following the opening of IBA Sports Championships, Acastanhada delegation have been arrived at Ubung International Airport yesterday. For this championship, the country only join the competition which will be held in Pemecutan, the Racquetsports Championships. There are two reasons for the decision. First, the budget is quite adequate following the country's focusing on rebuilding efforts after the Kolanos Gulf War. Second, because COA doesn't have winter sports in their repertoire. And netball is not an established sports in Acastanha. "We are only sending the athletes for the sports that we known of," comment Tomás Arkhan, Acastanhada delegation Chief de Mission. With around 26 athletes competing, the country is one of the smallest delegation in this edition of IBA Sports Championships.

Out of the 26 athletes, 10 each will be competing in Badminton and Tennis events. While the other 6 are competing in Table tennis. This is Acastanhada first performance in Badminton and Table Tennis, as the country was not sending both sports in their last Olympics appearance despite both sports are Olympics official sports. However, despite knowing for their participation in the world tennis tour of NSTT, there are no known names present in their tennis delegation. The most standout might be Teobaldo Kushvan, an 19 years old tennis player who just make his debut at the indoor hardcourt season pairing with Soracanian natives player (who compete under Pemecutan flag), Duwanisarga Yajamaja. Whil other athletes are likely amateur athletes. FTA spokesperson stated that they give a break period for most of their pro players while preparing for the new season of NSTT.

And when talking about target and such, Tomás Arkhan said that no medal target is given to the team. "But we'll still giving our best for the country. With a hopeful medal. That would be a surprise for us as well," comment Arkhan. And today is the opening day of IBA Sport Championships where Acastanhada athletes will be playing in 5 events in Pemecutan. All of the matches played by Acastanhada players will be broadcast live by RTP.

Welcome to Ubung, IBAs

Ubung - Pemecutan once again trusted to host one of the several competition held under the banner of IBA Sports Championship. After previously hosting the weightlifting events in the first edition of the championship, now the country is hosting the racquet sports championships. This championships is consist of several sports and events, 4 sports and 17 events to be precise where one of them is quite unknown in the country. But nevertheless, Pemecutan is ready to welcome all the delegation into the country to experience on of the largest competition in the multiverse, IBA Sports Championships.

The organizer has selected 4 venues to accommodate the 17 events that will be held in the course of 9 days. Gangga Assembly Hall is once again selected for the tennis event. The venue is a regular host for NSTT indoor hardcourt competition, Ubung Open. Then the squash will be held in Baruna Country Club at the Baruna Tennis Academy to be exact. This is one out of 2 tennis academy located in the city, the other being Gangga Lawn Tennis Club. But why selected Baruna Tennis Academy, of course because they have the squash court. And the the other 2 sports, Badminton and Table Tennis will be held in 2 different venues at Ubung Sports Center. The last preparation have been finished and the supervisor did their last inspection before the competition is held. All of this is done for the comfort and enjoyment of the athletes.

Now, turning into the delegation. Pemecutan send 71 athletes in 8 sports, 4 of which is in racquet sports that is held in Pemecutan itself. While the other 4 are winter sports event that are held in either Britonisea or Darkmania. The 4 winter sports that Pemecutan entered are Figure skating, Short track speed skating, Speed skating and Curling. The first three are Pemecutan regular sports in Winter Olympics where the country had managed to win 4 medals. And Curling is a new popular sport in the country. The sport is being notice after the country joined the Winter Olympics for the first time in Clayquot, Kelssek. Despite didn't bring any medal at the time, but it was a great experience for the athletes. And at that time, Curling is stealing the attention of Pemecutan winter sports enthusiast. They then try to bring the sports into the country. The effort to introduce the sport is very huge. But they are overshadowed by adequate venue and the more popular figure skating and speed skating who already bring medals to the country. But they are not giving up. With high determination, they established Pemecutan Curling Association to make the sports more organized in the country. It is then getting noticed from UPOC which then give an associate member status to the sports association. And the participation of Curling in IBA Sports Championships is the result of this status. UPOC give recommendation to PCA to established a national team for the competition in a given time. And the association is able to give names to UPOC so the sports finally perform for the first time in international competition.
It was an exciting journey if we remember it. And now we can only hope that they can their best in the competition. It is also our stepping point to be able to present in the upcoming Winter Olympics. So all the best to our teams

Luh Gede Githasuari
PCA President

On the other hand, PTA (Pemecutan Tennis Association) only bring their amateur and junior athletes to the competition. PTA spokesperson said that it is a great place for them to measure their playing skills after the hiatus happen in domestic events. While the other association keep bring their best athletes to the competition cited the lack of other international events as their main reason. On the other hand, as the country doesn't have a squash sports association, the squash athletes are selected exclusively by a consortium of 3 sports clubs where squash is being train. They are Baruna Tennis Academy in Ubung, Pemecutan, Canggu Country Club in Canggu, Kanginan and Sanur Racquet Club in Sanur, Pemecutan. The consortium agreed for the athletes as it is present in the country's athlete list.

Luh Gede Puji Astuti is once again trusted to lead the delegation. She is seen capable of bringing the best out of the delegation after the country's great campaign in the first edition of IBA Sports Championships. However, she feels it is more difficult to bring medals this time as the sports competed are not Pemecutanian best sports except for tennis. But she assure the sports fans that the athletes won't be so disappointing. For the fans that can't watch the matches in Ubung, GOR Channel (GBC) and Kanal-S (UBC) will broadcast all of the matches live for them. GOR Channel will broadcast all matches outside Ubung. While Kanal-S exclusively broadcast the matches of the racquet sports events.

Ubung,
Pemecutan

Stifling a small yawn, a girl with long, straight hair that flows down and touches her back walked down the stairs towards the cafeteria located at the first level of her accommodation in the city. Yesterday has been quite hectic, with everybody opting to practice with each other for however long they can until the coach called them out and ordered them to take a rest for their eventual big day. She can see the logic and so do her fellow ‘delathletes’ (‘delegation athletes’, that nickname sticks thanks to a certain boisterous Gadangese who keeps bring that up to some people’s chagrin, though she only feels amused. It sounds cool, after all), so they agreed to retire to their place for the rest of the day. It was a night of bliss and calm, and she woke up feeling contented and relaxed. A bit anxious, yes, but she had trained and offered her prayers earlier in the dawn, so that will be only up to her to prove her worth on the field. There will be many strong opponents, but she had promised herself that she will do her best.

In terms of appearance, however, she doesn’t feel up to fully groom herself this early and her long hair is still wet from the shower she took earlier, so she only let it loose on her back. She can tie it later after she grabs her morning nourishment.

A moment later, with a tray containing her breakfast in hand, she looks around for an empty table.

“Fatimah? Come here, sit with us.” A peppy, familiar voice calls out from beside her, prompting her to turn and smile. A girl with straight, neck-length black hair waved her hand from a nearby table where she is currently sitting with two young men, the one with neater-looking hair waved along with the girl while the other only gave her a smile in greeting. In other words, Dinihari Puteh, Mubarak Setiawan, and Usman Demang. Guess the ‘Single’ gang is sitting together now.

“Oh, hey Puteh, everyone. Thank you.”

She puts her tray on the table and sits at the only empty seat beside Dinihari, who is currently pouting playfully at her. “I’ve told you before that you can just call me ‘Dini’, Fatimah. It will be confusing otherwise because there is another person here who also has the same surname and people keeps mistaking us for being related.”

As weird as it is, the matter with names is the reason why she and Dinihari managed to befriend each other ever since their first meeting during the last National Badminton Championship. Dinihari with, quote unquote, “surnames so common you can find it in every town and village in the whole peninsula. That aside, my skin’s not even that fair”, and Fatimah with the surname being the exact same as her own hometown. A city whose existence people outside used to like to joke as “a conspiracy” (“Do you know somebody from Jerom?” “No.” “See, that’s why it’s not a real place!”) which then turned into curious stares borderline pitying after a tragic incident involving an airplane (she personally prefers the conspiracy shtick. It’s all in good fun at least, and she doesn’t have to feel awkward as people give their condolences even if it happened a few years back. She doesn’t like being reminded of it).

“Ah, yes, sorry Dini.” She smiled at the short-haired girl. “I’m not exactly used to call others not by their family name. You have a point though.”

“Chill.” Dinihari said dismissively, using her spoon to feed herself a piece of chopped potato along with rice. One of her brows rose as she began to chew. “It’s not the most conventional thing, I know.”

“It’s favoritism.” Mubarak grumbled petulantly, picking on a piece of cut raw cucumber with a fork. ‘Wait, is that some kind of ulam1?’ “She keeps telling me and Demang to call her ‘Dinihari’ and glared at me when I called her ‘Dini’.”

It seems that Usman finally decided to join the previously two-sided conversation as well by that point. “To be fair, you are the one who keeps joking about her and the other Puteh being related to the point people are getting confused.” He said in a calm tone, looking at the food on his plate as a teasing grin made its way on his face. “It’s your own fault. Besides, she is also the one who gets to decide on what people can call her.”

“Thank you, Demang. Finally, somebody who understands my point.”

Ignoring Mubarak’s protests on the two ganging up on him and the resulting laughter, Fatimah swept her gaze around, smiling a bit wider once she caught a pair of brown eyes belonging to a girl with high ponytail. Fatimah waved, and the girl dragged her partner to sit at the empty table beside them, said partner, recently dubbed by Usman as “the other Puteh”, remains stone-faced as always. Speak of the devil.

“Hi everybody.” The girl greeted when she put her tray down, as “the other Puteh” politely nodded in acknowledgement at the occupants of their table though otherwise keeps his focus on his own tray. “Lively as always, I see.”

“Alamsyah, Puteh.” Usman nodded back, while both Dinihari and Mubarak waved in quiet greeting, still chewing on their respective food. “It’s better than drowning in anxiety, right? First-time nerves and all.”

“Well, you are not exactly wrong.” Safitri Alamsyah smiled, before she gestured at her partner, the eternally serious-looking Anwar Puteh, who is sitting before her at the other side of the table. “Anwar here has been quite helpful to calm me down, himself.” Hmm?.

Dinihari quietly muttered something that suspiciously sounded like ‘can’t believe somebody with a stick up his bum can do that’ though it’s probably just Fatimah’s own imagination given that nobody else seems to hear it. Usman just nodded and wished the pair good luck before he continues to eat his own food.

“Speaking of,” Mubarak then spoke, absent-mindedly cutting a lettuce on his plate. “How about you guys’ matches?”

“I think I’ll be playing somebody from Nightom. Summerton, I think?” Dinihari answered, stabbing a piece of meat on her plate with a fork. “I’m not sure about how the game will go in the Ubung Sports Center later, but hopefully it won’t be embarrassing for me.”

“You are not a bad player, Dini.” Fatimah said in what hopefully sounded like a comforting tone. “You might be slightly clumsy with your moves, but you are also clever and tend to employ many tricks when we were playing together. Besides, I think the coach has said that he doesn’t really expect any of us to make it to the finals, hasn’t he?”

“Finals, huh.” Mubarak muttered. “Well…I’m not dreaming of continuing to the finals, myself. I know that out of all us in this table, my skills are probably not the best. But…” The shorter one of the men at their table then looked at her with a grin. “If any of us ‘Singles’ here are going to advance, I believe Fatimah has a bigger chance. She has quite the handle of the shuttle cock on the field, and she is quite fast to intercept incoming attacks, not to mention…she is also the champion of the last National Badminton Championship, right?”

Fatimah could feel herself blushed. “I…we don’t know what will happen, Setiawan, but thanks for the confidence. I’ll be facing somebody from Srednjaci myself…I think? She seems to be quite strong. I won’t discount Demang and you either, to be frank. Demang will be facing Roberts from Elejamie and you will play somebody from the host country, Kasmawan. Both of you are quite strong yourselves, but…good luck?”

“I’d advise that none of you should be overthinking about what is going to happen.” A quiet, baritone voice shot out from beside their table in a characteristic formal tone. Ah. It seems that Anwar has decided to speak, and that both he and Safitri have listened in to their recent conversation. They are also going to play in Match Day 1 against another pair from Crpostran. “Like Jerom hath said, nobody will know how our matches will turn out in the end. We just have to be confident in our own abilities and keep our focus on the game.”

“Well,” Usman grinned. “He is not wrong. Good luck to all of us, then.”

IBA Netball Challenge: Shooting Stars aiming for gold!

Image
The IBA Netball Challenge is about to start, and we, the Standard of Journalism in Alice Bay, wouldn't leave our readers uninformed on the progress of our girls!

The Shooting Stars are in the group C, playing the first three matches in Circunses Center, against Britonisea, Srednjaci and Darkmania. If all the results are positive, as expected, the Alicean women should keep playing there until semifinal round. Then, the following venue in the tournament should be the Pale Arena, the venue of the Gold Medal Match. The way to the medal matches is still full ahead the team, and full of challenges.

The first matches are expected to be easier,
as we weren't able to find any mention to high perfomance netball being played at Darkmania, Srednjaci or Britonisea (but we will continue researching all possible opponents), with the expectations growing as we may cross nations with a higher level, like Crpostran and the hosts, the national team of Strayaroos.

For those unable to travel there, Channel 4 will broadcast all the Shooting Stars match along its IBA Sports Championships, with all matches for the tournament being broadcasted for the users of its streaming services, FourPlay.

However, if you're truly a Die-Hard fan and want to feel the thrill of watching our women playing,
Netball AB and Bay City International Airport reached an agreement with AirSTR, the flag carrier of Strayaroos, to have daily flights leaving BCIA to Panem Airport. GoWithTheStars.ab, a website set-up by Netball AB and TRIAS (Bay City International Airport operator) is still selling tournament packages, including travels, hotel in Circunses, catering, transport from hotel to Circunses Center and match tickets. The most expensive option covers for all the matches in Circunses Center plus Medal Games in Pale, and costs 36,750 ABP.

Estogian Roster for the IBA Championships II

Postby Estogium » Tue Dec 19, 2023 7:28 am

Demonym: Estogian
Anthem: Estogium Anthem for the IBA Sports Championships
Broadcaster(s): RVC

Population: 36 million
Capital City: Darlington
Languages: English, Britonish, French

Estogium will be participating in the upcoming IBA Championships - which is this time focused on racquetsports in Pemecutan, wintersports in Novapax alongside the IBA Netball Challenge which is hosted in StrayaRoos. Estogium doesn't have a necessarily strong presence in any of the events that will be taking place at these Championships, but Estogians will know Michael Shoelps, one of Estogium's national treasures and Olympian. He is expected to do very well in the men's badminton singles but will have stiff competition from many of the participating nations. As always, Estogium's national broadcaster RVC will be in charge of broadcasting the event to over 30 million Estogians.

Bobsleigh

Estogium has a couple of facilities in the north, namely in the cities of Exeter, the most northern large city in the whole of ABEN, alongside areas nestled in the central mountains of the country and The Estograd. It's in these places that amateur bobsleighing has been seen. The best of the amateurs now have a chance to show themselves on a large international stage.

Men's Four-Man
Jaxon Fender
Riccardo Tessaro
Alessandro McElligott
Marco Vincello

Estogium will be sending a four-man bobsleigh team to the IBA Championships, with the team consisting of Riccardo Tessaro, Allessandro McElligott (with both of them participating in the Men's "Duobob") alongside Marco Vincello and Jaxon Fender - two up and coming bobsledders.

Curling

While there are no purpose-made curling rinks throughout Estogium with the nation preferring lawn bowls, during the winter season, curling rinks might appear in town centres for people to play to get themselves in the mood for the sport. The men and women who are involved in the curling team Estogium has brought to the Championships have either studied or learnt the sport in the host country, Britonisea or Nightom.

Men's Team
Miles Davison
Alban Payne
Jay Louis
Collyn Arkwright
Hugh Strong

The men's team will be lead by Miles Davison who, alongside Alban Payne studied in Nightom. Jay, Collyn and reserve Hugh all studied in Britonisea.

Women's Team
Kelli Daviau
Isabelle Seaver
Jade Radclyffe
Toria Danielson
Nina Brand

Lead by Kelli Daviau, the curling team will consist of a team that has studied in Britonisea alone. Nina Brand will be acting as the reserve.

Ice Hockey

Ice Hockey is played in some universities in the north of the country and regularly plays against other university teams throughout ABEN. However, for something as important as the IBA Championships, Estogium has had to enlist some of its best ice hockey players from not only ABEN but internationally such as from Elejamie also. For the few that manage to play in Elejamie, they are expected to play well, but they will also be coaching their Estogian counterparts on how to play on a professional level.

Day 0

Ice Hockey: Britonisea can prove its the best in ABEN, but has a long way to go to prove itself internationally...

In the run-up to the IBA Sports Championships Ice Hockey tournament, Britonisea managed to win against a relatively weak Estogium team but couldn't clearly beat Elejamie - who will also appear at the IBA Champs...

Many of Britonisea's young and energetic players have ditched the IBA Sports Championships in favour of the Junior Ice Hockey World Cup which will be held in Quebec and Shingoryeo, like many sports are these days. It was rumoured that Britonisea would put in a bid to host the competition, with help from the Darkmanians, but with the upcoming IBA Sports Championships returning to the country, the BAS decided that it would instead focus and fund that with the juniors expected to participate in the main junior international event. Junior players, who expected to play in Britonisea, have now booked themselves a ticket to Quebec and Shingoryeo, with the BAS saying that it will fund the journey in exchange for good participation and hopefully good results.

The results of this tournament and the junior tournament will decide the final lineup for the Winter Olympics, if Britonisea participates in that, alongside any future Hockey World Cups that could come before the Games. With the team now composed of mid 20 year olds upwards only, the team had to adjust to the change and decided to contact the Estogians to see whether they would like to play a home and away hockey match. They also contacted the Elejamians to see whether they would be available - they accepted. Britonisea has a slightly more aggressive style of play compared to that of the Estogians and the Elejamians, but the latter especially has experience on its side.

Below are the results of each competition:

Estogium v Britonisea
Britonisea (BRI) 3–2 Estogium (RWH)
@ University of Burgendore, Burgendore (2,007 audience)

Estogium (RWH) 1–2 Britonisea (BRI)
@ Albrooke Community Centre, Exeter (967 audience)

Estogium v Britonisea Pld W L GF GA GD Pts
1 Britonisea 2 2 0 5 3 +2 6
2 Estogium 2 0 2 3 5 −2 0

Estogium versus Britonisea was only going to end one way, but the Estogians did put up quite the fight. The first match was hosted in the University of Burgendore, one of the host venues at the IBA Championships - with the majority of the audience being students (many of whom were from Estogium so that explains the large audience total). The first hockey match saw the first period void of any goals at all - but after the first intermission, the offensiveness of the Britonish team really shone, with them going 2-0 up on a rather startled Estogian team. Looking a little bit frazzled, but not wanting to give up, Estogium managed to score right before the second intermission. The Estogian team must've had a good chat off court, as they scored another within minutes of starting the third period, levelling up to the Britons. The Britons focused and scored the fifth and final goal of the match, giving them the win. As we moved to the Albrooke Community Centre in the middle of the city of Exeter, the match tells a similar story, with Britonisea a point up from Estogium. The Britons may have won this series, but they still had the Elejamians to play against...

Britonisea v Elejamie
Britonisea (BRI) 1–2 Elejamie (EJM)
@ University of Burgendore, Burgendore (1,567 audience)

Elejamie (EJM) 2–2 Britonisea (BRI) (2–1 SO)
@ Sherbourne Arena, Aldenport (1,954 audience)

Britonisea v Elejamie Pld W L GF GA GD Pts
1 Elejamie 2 1 0 4 3 +1 4
2 Britonisea 2 0 1 3 4 −1 1

Elejamie was a difficult opponent for the Britonish however. While the team got a free trip to Elejamie, it came at the expense of the realisation that the Britonish team has a lot of work to do at the upcoming IBA Games. The Sherbourne Arena in Aldenport saw a healthy 2,000 people turn up to see how their team would fare against the much weaker Britonish side. Unlike the first match, which saw Elejamie win convincingly over the Brits, this match was a little more drawn out, going into a shoot-off; Elejamie clinched the victory in the end. If anything, this tells the Britons may need to focus on this high-tensity finish to an ice-hockey match to make sure they don't let the pressure get to them in the event of a shoot-off.

So, the preparation is complete - the real event starts tomorrow... can Britonisea prove to the world it's got what it takes in the World of Ice Hockey?
