Roster Information

You will earn Roleplay Bonus points for submitting a roster, and a more detailed and well-presented roster can be worth more points. Detail can include Player Bios, Graphical Depiction of Team Kits, Historical Records and Team Background (Such as a nickname). A Standard roster should include 11 Players as starters and a series of substitutes for a total of 23-26 players. There is, however, no limit to the number of players and some nations will use a "player pool" approach while naming specific starters for each match in their RPs. Other useful information includes information about the coaching staff, set pieces takers, likely scorers and at least one home field for where your home qualifying matches will be played. Check out the Roster Thread from Last Cycle for some examples.

If you are copying a roster from a previous World Cup this is a reminder to update the edition # to reflect the current cycle which is World Cup 92.

Style Modifiers

You may provide a Style Modifier, any number between -5.00 and +5.00, with your roster that determines how defensively or aggressively your team plays. A -5.00 team is ultra-defensive, a 0.00 team is balanced, and a +5.00 team is hyper-aggressive. All nations are entitled to ASK to change their style modifier 1 (One) time throughout the duration of the tournament, by communicating said change via RP and by TGing both host nations [ Vilita & Electrum ] to confirm.

RP Permissions

Best practice includes the following permissions box that gives other competitors guidelines for how to roleplay your matches. We also request you stick your Style Modifier at the bottom of this box for ease of reference (even if it also exists elsewhere)

Code: Select all
[pre]
My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:

Godmod scoring events: Y/N
RP injuries to my players: Y/N
Godmod injuries to my players: Y/N
Give red cards to my players: Y/N
Godmod other events: Y/N

Style Modifier: +/-
[/pre]

Other options you can consider are setting per-game maximums for injuries and cards, listing which of your players are most likely to score a goal/get injured/earn a card, or any information you think would be useful for your groupmates.

West Barack and East Obama National Football Team

A Brief History of Obaman Football

Football as a sport is prohibited in West Barack and East Obama, along with other team sports such as cricket, rugby and paintball. This is because the prevalence team sports has a strong correlation to organised crime, violence and political dissidents, so all attempts at forming groups are prohibited. However, West Barack and East Obama has established an official national football team to help promote Obaman values on the international stage.

The Obamen recently participated in the Baptism of Fire, where they reached the Round of 16 and provided a strong defensive performance, which they shall hope to continue as they face powerhouses such as The Holy Empire during qualification.

The Coaching Team

Head Coach: Buck Obamafinakis
Assistant Coach: Tuck Obamafinakis
Goalkeeping Coach: Chuck Obamafinakis

The Obamafinakis brothers are legendary throughout Southeast Obama. Known for their law firm 'Obamafinakis, Obamafinakis & Obamafinakis', these triplets are known for their expert litigation skills and have reduced countless death penalty sentences to paltry life imprisonment with hard labour and without parole sentences. Now, they're putting their persuasive skills and tactical knowledge to the real test by continuing their role as the coaching staff of the West Barack and East Obama national team for the World Cup. Rumours that they were forced to take the job so that the government can distract them away from practicing law to better suppress dissidents are still false.

The Players

The players of the football team have been selected based on a variety of factors. The team that has been selected is the one that will maximise winning in competitions whilst minimising the possibility of bonds and teamwork being formed.

Goalkeeper: Dwayne Obama, 36

Captain Dwayne Obama is a fighter pilot for the Glorious Obama Air Forces. Known as 'Dwayne, Destroyer of Planes', Obama has taken down more enemy aircraft and blown up more secessionist state hospitals than can be counted. His reflexes and quick thinking helps him to get out of sticky situations, and his incredible muscles from intensive training means he can stop a powerful ball with just his pinky. The perfect goalkeeper candidate.

Left Centre Back: Trent Vobama, 37 (Captain)

Trent Vobama is the venerable captain of the team. His performance in the recent ODI World Trophy led to his call up for the football team, with many applauding his leadership and wondering if this old dog has some tricks up his sleeve. A very respectable figure, Trent's experience as a PE teacher will help him command the team to a victory.

Centre Back: Barack Denovitz, 29

A feared mob enforcer in downtown New Barack City, the Obamafinakis brothers convinced the Obaman courts to let Denovitz out for the competition, and if he succeeds could earn 10 years off his 150 year sentence (with hard labour). The definition of a hard man, he doesn't tackle, he just scares them away. Suspended on his international debut and he'd do it all over again.

Right Centre Back: Bark Obamallama, 31

Door-to-door llama salesman Bark Obamallama has really thick skin. You'll need it to if your day was spent dodging llama spit and verbal abuse from disinterested buyers. Described as being devoid of any emotions, Obamallama will have no second thoughts about ending that opponent's career with a devastating (but legal) slide tackle.

Left Wide Midfielder: Jenny Barracki, 27

Being a professional sprinter, Jenny Barracki is the fastest woman alive. In West Barack and East Obama. She can outrun most of her opponents down the wing, delivering crosses to waiting strikers.

Left Central Midfielder: Harvey Chobamya, 28

Harvey Chobamya is not your average gym bro. He spends all of his days and nights on the treadmill at Anytime Obama in New Barack City, as well as doing all of the leg and feet exercises. The strongest lower body in the whole of the nation, he can send balls out of the stadium with just a slight tap. Leg day skips this guy.

Central Midfielder: Wolfgang Obamadeus-Mozart, 24

Better known by his pseudonym "DJ Momo" of the rap duo "Momo and the Obamasaurus", Obamadeus-Mozart has very unpredictable movement patterns to match his crazy beats. He can bamboozle, flabbergast and dumbfound any of his opponents to get the ball from one end of the pitch to the other. Following incidents during the Baptism of Fire, he has been ordered to stop vlogging to protect national security.

Right Central Midfielder: Charles Obama, 27

Royal Butler to The One and Only Barack Horatio Obama, Charles Obama is also a very skilled footballer. A holding midfielder, there's no room for nonsense when this guy's on the pitch. His commanding presence and knack for providing service to his fellow players will come into handy.

Right Wide Midfielder: Brett Pogama, 29

Brett Pogama has a lot of sports experience, participating in one of the most popular sports in the country (since team sports were banned) in greyhound racing. He plays the role of the rabbit, where he has to run as fast as he can to escape a pack of vicious greyhounds. Most of the time he gets out with only a flesh wound or two, showcasing his excellence for evading opponents to bring a ball into the box.

Left Centre Forward: Lily Chobamya, 19

Sister to Harvey Chobamya, Lily is good at free kicks and penalties. Inbetween her courses at Frederick Obamatown National Health University, she practices her set pieces, which aren't technically illegal as there's only one player playing. She can't do much else, but if you foul someone, say bye bye to your fragile lead.

Right Centre Forward: Fred Olibama, 30

Fred Olibama is one powerful forward. He is a cobbler by day, but in his spare time makes some of the best sports shoes known to man. Being both the striker and the kit guy for the team, his experience in bring in the shoes of a footballer will definitely be a big help to the team.

‘The Bear-Belles’

National football organisation: ‘Bears Armed Association for Soccer’ (= ‘BAAS’).
BAAS Chairbear: Surranna SunDaughter (clan= Sun; female Ursine; formerly manager of ‘Sun Valley Smashers’, one of the country’s leading teams, after being their chief coach and also playing for them in various roles for several years; age = 50, fur = golden-brown, left-pawed, now wears glasses.)
National anthem: 'The Banner Green And Gold’.
Trigram: BRS
Official supporters' organisation: 'Arri's Furry Army'.

This is basically the same squad that competed in the WC84 qualifiers, which in turn was almost the same squad that won DBC46. As far as they are concerned this is now only the third year since those qualifiers ended, even though rather longer seems to have elapsed in the outside world: This discrepancy will be discussed in my RP.

Yes, it’s an all-female team again. As I’ve explained before, this is because the main ball-game that's traditionally been played in Bears Armed is actually closer to being a form of Rugby, but [for several reasons] that sport’s “proper” teams are all-male and so some females who wanted to make it as players decided that switching to Soccer — and trying to establish a professional league for that sport for themselves instead — might be a viable alternative: They were right, because that professional league was founded shortly after WC44 and so has now been in operation for over two eightSquareds of years.

All of the players and support staff are actual Ursines (i.e. anthropomorpic, bipedal, "talking" Bears), except for any whom I actually specify as being members of other ‘peoples’. The Harr'aynau people are physically human (more-or-less, anyway, although inclined towards heavy builds & hairiness), but are spiritually & culturally Ursine instead. 'Ursomorphic' Humans vary a bit in how much they look like Bears, but are spiritually Human and culturally part of the nation's small Ashkenazic Jewish minority.

The ages & lengths of experience currently given below are basically correct for the start of the qualifying process, although of course in some cases birthdays will take place during this ‘season’ rather than just (however much easier that would make keeping the records accurately…) only between ‘seasons’…

Staff

Manager & Chief Coach: Urrsara Northgate _ Clan = Urrset; female Ursine; a former Deputy Manager & Chief Coach at ‘Sun Valley Smashers’ (one of the nation’s top teams);had spent 6 years in such roles, after 5 years as a player (as Forward, Midfielder, and Lynchpin) there and 7 years before that (mostly as a Midfielder) at River City, before she was appointed to this job 10 years ago. (Age = [she’s not saying, but probably late-thirties], fur = light-brown, either-pawed; speaks Ruottsan, Ursine, Herr’-Harr’aynau, English [with an accent, although she might sometimes be exaggerating that a bit], and some French. She is a member of the Greek Orthodox Church.
”Drink more tea: Tea is beink good for you.”

Deputy Manager (Admin): Judith Gold _ Free Sept = The Exodus; “ursomorphic” Human, female, follows a moderate form of Judaism; seconded from BAAS head office 10 years ago. (Age = difficult for anybody unfamiliar with ‘ursomorphs’ to tell, but obviously an adult, fur = black, right-handed; very good with languages, and already fluent in several Human ones — including English, Yiddish, German, French, and Greek — as well as in both Ursine and Ouesttree; also, since taking this job, has started learning Ruttsan).

Doctor: Lierr’hee Redwood-of-Thramms _ Clan = Redwood; female; hired from private practice by BAAS for tournaments from DBC45 onwards. (Age undisclosed, but has been a doctor for over 33 years, fur = ‘grizzled’ black, right-pawed; speaks English, Ursine, and probably one or two other languages as well).

Chief Physiotherapist: Krrystal Bruin _ Clan = WestWoods; female Ursine; previously worked at hospitals in Wiston City, and helped with local amateur football league, but was appointed to this job shortly before DBC45 and has remained with the team since then; her job title was upgraded from just ‘Physiotherapist’ after DBC46. (Age = mid/late-thirties, fur = dark brown, left-pawed; speaks English, Ursine, and Ouesttree; mother of one child, a daughter, Steffannee Bruin, who is one of this team’s players.

Chaplain, ‘One Plus Seven’: Marra Moon _ Clan = Silver-of-Night; female Ursine; assigned to this duty by her superiors in the Great Medicine Society shortly before DBC45 and has been posted at Wimbley Stadium in between tournaments. (Age = mid thirties [apparently], fur = light brown, left-pawed; is not only a Shabear but also a qualified psychiatrist; speaks Ursine, English, some German and Yiddish, and probably one or more other languages as well.)

Chaplain, Ursion: Jharge “No Relation” Potter _ Clan = Artorran; male Ursine; assigned to this duty by his superiors approximately two years after the end of DBC45 . (Age = early thirties, fur = light brown, right-pawed; like many other members of his clan, is slightly more “anthropomorphic” than is typical for Bears from this nation; speaks Ursine, English, French, some German, and some Greek; keen chess-player.)

Security Chief: Major Merrfinh Blonk _ Clan = WestWoods; male; on loan [again, as for the other tournaments from DBC45 onwards] from [REDACTED] in the Confederal Army. (Age = mid-to-late thirties, fur = medium-brown & relatively long, right-pawed [apparently]; speaks Ouesttree, French, Ursine, and English… at the least.)

Caterers: Jordon Blue

Mascot: Perrabohor ‘Bright-Eyes’ (one of the “blessed” [but non-sapient?] Puh-Barra, or ‘Little Bears’)

Fandom Liaison Officer: Etta Halliday _ Clan = WestWoods; female Ursine; played in the DBC45 squad, as the usual starting Right Back, while a student at WestPort University and a member of that institution’s own football team; was too old for DBC46, but played a major role in organising things for the Belles’ travelling fans during that contest and was subsequently hired by BAAS on a full-time basis for this purpose; age = 25[?] years, right-pawed, fur = yellow-brown, short for her age but solidly built & [despite that build] surprisingly fast, fearless; graduated from WestPort University 2 years after DBC45, with a degree in ‘Humanology’; speaks English, Ouesttree, Ursine, French, and German; generally cheerful; very fond of sweet foods.

Harrdiharr Arranger: Karra-Marra SunDaughter _ Clan = Sun; female Ursine; age = 36 years; left-pawed, fur = ‘golden’; specialises in adapting the ‘harrdiharr’ for optimum effects depending on the performers, opposition, location, and possibly other factors; background not made public, but was hired by BAAS on a part-time basis for the WC84 qualifiers & now again for these ones; speaks Ursine, English, and quite a few other languages as well (She seems to have a natural — or maybeso even supernatural? — talent for learning languages, and might also help the team with translation duties as well…); interests include chess, swing music [& dance], and stage musicals.

Kit Supervisor: Missus Burrows _ Clan = Brock [which is actually a ‘Double Clan’…] & 'Demi-Clan = WesterBrock; female Brock (i.e. anthropomorphic Badger); apparently middle-aged; has been with the team since before DBC46; responsible for ensuring that all players have suitable kit available, clean and intact, for every game, and also [following the coaches’ orders] for making sure that their boots have the appropriate studs fitted for dealing with local conditions; also, makes sure that balls and [if necessary] temporary nets are available for practice when the team is away from home.

'Special Advisor': Sermharn the Wanderer: appearing as a male Ursine (of 'brown bear' type), whose age cannot be pinned down any further than "adult" (He has been around Bears Armed, on & off, for over a thousand years!); he is a mystic of considerable power who doesn't quite fit into any of the "usual" categories known to the Bears... He helps the team & staff to travel safely, even when this involves crossing between Realities, and may help the chaplains to protect them against supernatual problems at other times as well.

Roster

(#1) Karramarrsar Ulgha _ Clan = Ostobora; female Ursine; home team = Krasny Kremmer Konquerors, category & usual position = Goalkeeper; age = 25 years, right-pawed, fur = light brown, above-average eyesight & reflex speed; off the pitch, she is an enthusiastic & skilled dancer. [She was in the DBC45 & DBC46 squads.]

(#15) Serranna Orchards _ Clan = Ozt’sulh [free sept]; female Ursine; home team = LakePort Lionesses, category & usual position = Goalkeeper; age = 21½years, left-pawed, fur = dark-medium brown; the tallest member of this team, at 7’2”, and built in proportion _ Reaching out to block high shots should be relatively easy for her, but she might find getting down into the right place to stop ones aimed into the net’s bottom corners instead a bit harder… [She was in the DBC46 squad.]

(#16) Marra o TrustyHand _ Clan = Sun; female Ursine; home team = Sun Valley Smashers, category & usual position = Goalkeeper; age = 20 years, either-pawed; fur = ‘dark blonde’; good at fixing things, which befits her nameline’s origin as their clan’s smiths. [She was in the DBC46 squad.]

(#30) Charranna o Barrdenn _ Clan = GreenWoods; female Ursine; home team = LakePort Lionesses, category & usual position = Goalkeeper (will probably be employed as starting goalie against one -- or, if shes does well the first time, both -- of the two lowest-ranked opponents during the first half of qualifiers); age = 29 years, left-pawed, fur = dark brown & relatively long, 6’8” tall & has a correspondingly long reach; speaks Ursine and [some] English; religion = One Plus Seven. [She was in the DBC45 squad.]

(#31) Sarrathee Thunder _ Clan = Gunnar; female Ursine; home team = Barrdenn Barbariennes; category & usual position = Goalkeeper (will probably be employed as starting goalie against one -- or, if shes does well the first time, both -- of the two lowest-ranked opponents during the second half of qualifiers), experience = 14 years; age =31, left-pawed, fur = dark brown, height = 6’7”; jumps well, for a Bear; speaks English and Ursine, religion = One Plus Seven; interested in technology, especially that of railways. (The WC84 qualifiers were her international debut.)

(#2) Urrsa Irrumerrhabarra _ Clan = Beorningas; female Ursine; home team = Kingly City, category = Defender, usual position = Left Back; age = 23 years, left-pawed, fur = medium brown; has lived up to her earlier description, at the time of DBC45, as “a very promising youngster”. [She was in the DBC45& DBC46 squads.]

(#3) Urrth’hrra Mead _ Clan = Greybear; female Ursine; home team = River City, category = Defender, usual position = Right Back; age = 25 years, right-pawed, fur = light brown; noted for keeping calm & carrying on despite any problems. [She was in the DBC45 & DBC46 squads.]

(#17) Urrsarra Shipbear _ Clan = SeaBear; female Ursine; home team = Northport Navigators, category = Defender, usual position = Left Back (but can also play reasonably well at Right Back, too); age = 21 years, left-pawed, fur = medium-brown; speaks Ursine, English, and some Norren. Considered not brilliant, but reliable, and is unlikely to spend much [if any] time “too far” forwards. [She was in the DBC46 squad.]

(#32) Marra Oldcastle _ Clan = Redwood; female Ursine; home team = Harr Burran Heroines, category = Defender, usual position = Back (on either side, or in centre), experience = 12 years; age = 29 years, left-pawed, fur = dark-medium brown, height = 6’10”, not as slow (whether physically or mentally) as her size might lead some people to expect; speaks Ursine and English, religion = ‘One Plus Seven’ and Ursionity; she is another member of the team’s own Chess Club. (The WC84 qualifiers were her international debut.)

(#4) Errinth’hrra Russett _ Clan = Urrset; female Ursine; home team = Northgate Nomads, category = Defender/Midfielder, usual position = Lynchpin or Midfield Left or Midfield Right; age = 24 years, left-pawed, fur = reddish-brown; serious-minded, a good leader and a masterly tactician; her regular Chess matches against the chaplain Jharge Potter draw keen audiences from among the team’s other players & staff. She is the team’s Captain. [She was in the DBC45 & — as Captain — DBC46 squads.]

(#20) Nennu Rangh’harr _ Clan = Rangh’harr Free Sept; female Harr’aynau [humanoid]; home team = Heroes’ Park Heroines, category = ‘utility outfielder’ proven capable of filling any position except [maybe] goalkeeper well; usual position = Lynchpin, Midfielder, or Winger; age = 25 years, either-footed, dark red hair; speaks Herr’-Harr’aynau, Harr’aynau-Ursine, Ursine, and English; there is speculation that she might eventually become the [adult] Belles first non-[physically]-Ursine Captain. [She was in the DBC45 & DBC46 squads.]

(#33) Marra Lightning _ Clan = Gunnar; female Ursine; home team = Newton Arsenal, category = Defender/Midfielder, usual position = Lynchpin (but versatile…); age = 28 years, either-pawed, fur = light brown & trimmed relatively short; fast on her feet, and relatively nimble for a Bear; “a natural leader”, and particularly good at keeping track of team-mates’ current positions; speaks English, Ursine, French, [some] Ouesttree, and [some] Ruottsan; religion = Ursionity, interests include swing music [& dance], & martial arts. [She was in the DBC45 squad.]

(#34) Urra-Marra Bright _ Clan = Sun; female Ursine; home team = Sun Valley Smashers, category = Midfielder or Forward, usual position = Lynchpin or Midfield Left or Left Forward; age = 26 years, left-pawed, fur = golden; very good eyesight even by human standards, particularly accurate on long shots (and quite good at penalty shots, too), and tactically gifted, speaks Ursine and English, and understands at least some bits of various other languages that she doesn’t try to speak. [She was in the DBC45 squad.]

(#5) Harroya o Sarrndale _ Clan = Herrchaum; female Ursine; home team = Merlchester Rovers, category = Midfielder or Winger — or, less frequently, Forward — on either side of the pitch, usual position = Midfield Left; age = 24 years, left-pawed, fur = medium-brown with grey hints; now in the job that she’d hoped for since early childhood, and doing very well for her home team as the latest “Harroya of the Rovers”; probably the least likely of this team’s players to get given a yellow cards, and has never earned a red one (DO NOT assign cards of either colour to her without obtaining my consent…). [She was in the DBC45 & DBC46 squads.]

(#6) Steffannee Bruin _ Clan = WestWoods; female Ursine; home team = Wiston City, category = Midfielder or Winger, usual position = Midfield Right; age = 24 years, right-pawed, fur = very light brown with hints of ‘gold’; slightly small for her age, but very resilient as well as nimble; has good eyesight by Ursine standards (and not bad by Human ones, neither); daughter, & only child, of the Belles’ current chief physiotherapist; favours ‘lilac’-coloured clothing when not in team kit. [She was in the DBC45 & DBC46 squads.]

(#21) Gyrrthhra Urrswald’s-Stone _ Clan = Errhabarra; female Ursine; home team = New Boston Athletic (in Old Ceorana rather than “at home”), category = Midfielder or Defender, usual position = Midfield Left, may also be used as Left Back or [perhaps less successfully] on the ‘Right’ instead; age = 24 years, left-pawed, fur = light-medium brown. [She was in the DBC46 squad.]

(#35) Emerladina Sunbird _ Clan = Sun; female Ursine; home team = Northgate Nomads; category = Midfielder or Winger, usual position = Midfield Left; age = 26 years, left-pawed, fur = golden with reddish tints, extremely good eyesight, has quick reflexes and is very fast on her feet, lightly-built for a Bear of her height (6’5”) but this is usual in her family & doesn’t weaken her; speaks English, Ursine, & French (And might be able to understand the speech of birds….), religion = One Plus Seven; interests include Ornithology, and Martial Arts. [She was in the DBC45 squad.]

(#36) Karra Bronze _ Clan = GreenWoods; female Ursine; home team = Barrdenn Barbariennes, category =Midfielder, usual position = Midfield Right; age = 27 years, left-pawed, fur = medium-brown with reddish tints, height = 6’4”; speaks Ursine and English, religion = One Plus Seven; interests include fashion, and rock music. [She was in the DBC45 squad.]

(#37) Karrh’hreena o Goodsword _ Clan = Sun; female Ursine; home team = Kingly City, category = Defender or Midfielder or even Winger, usual position = Midfield Left or possibly — if the chief coach is feeling “experimental” — ‘Wing Back [Left]’, experience = 13 years; age = 29 years, left-pawed, fur = ‘golden’, height = 6’6”; good eyesight even by human standards, and quite fast on her feet (not the fastest, but definitely above average), and has good positional awareness; long passes, across the field as well as up it, are likely from her; speaks Ursine and English; religion = One Plus Seven; another member of the squad’s own Chess Club. (The WC84 qualifiers were her international debut.)

(#7) Nerretta Barris _ Clan = BlackBear [Between-the-Rivers]; female Ursine; home team = LakePort Lions, category = Forward, usual position = Left Forward/‘Inside Left’; age = 25 years, left-pawed, fur = very dark brown; of only average height for her age [or slightly less] but physically tough as well as quite fast; particularly good at keeping control of the ball on the ground, and at getting it goals past keepers & other defenders into the net at short ranges, but willing to pass it to team-mates when they look better-placed to score. [She was in the DBC45 & DBC46 squads.]

(#11) Urrma Kuthbearrh _ Clan = Errhabarra; female Ursine; home team = NorthPort Navigators, category = Forward, usual position = Centre Forward (but has also played well as Left Forward); age = 25 years, left-pawed, fur = light-medium brown, relatively stocky but not particularly slow because of this; very determined even by Ursine standards. [She was in the DBC45 & DBC46 squads.]

(#12) Karra Brent _ Clan = Redwood; female Ursine; home team =LakePort Lionesses, category = Forward or Winger, usual position = Right Forward; age = 23 years, either-pawed, fur = golden-brown; quite large & very powerful for her age, fast & nimble, with very good eyesight even by human standards; apparently fearless, and has better control over her temper than might have been the case back around the time of DBC45; she is a cousin of the internationally famous journalist/broadcaster Bark Brent; attended Holy Ternian’s School. [She was in the DBC45 & DBC46 squads.]

(#22) Mirra Thunderbolt _ Clan = Gunnar; female Ursine; home team = Newton Arsenal; category = Forward or [“Attacking”] Midfielder, usual position = Right Forward or Midfield Right, experience = 9 years; age = 27 years, right-pawed, fur = medium brown, 6’4” tall, powerfully built, fast on her feet but more as a sprinter than as a long-distance runner, can jump quite well, good at long shots and can put enough strength behind these to get them past even some goalkeepers who do see them coming; speaks English, Ursine, and some French; religion = Ursionity. (The WC84 qualifiers were her international debut.)

[#23) Leona Wright _ Clan = Greybear; female Ursine; home team = River City, category = Forward or Winger, usual position = Forward Right or Right Winger; age = 24 years, right-pawed, fur = light brown (but, unlike that of many of her clan-mates, without any greyish tints); speaks English and Ursine; her father is a merchant who took her along on some trips into Human nations during school holidays from when she was 9 years old until when she was 18, and she probably understands humans better than any of her team-mates does. [She was in the DBC46 squad.]

(#24) Marra o Redbank _ Clan = BlackBear [‘Between-the-Rivers’]; female Ursine (‘black bear’ ancestry predominates); home team = Tsikago Aces, category = Winger or Forward, usual position = any Winger or Forward — except ‘Centre Forward’ — but preferably on the left; age = 23 years, left-pawed, fur = black; speaks English and Ursine; nicknamed “Little Storm” because, although relatively short for an Ursine (at only 5’9”), she is determined, fast, and very hard for opponents to predict; very good at manoeuvring through tight defences, more likely to pass the ball to a more experienced Striker than to take a shot at goal herself but has scored some goals — including several from “surprisingly” wide angles — in the squad’s “warm-up” games before DBC46 and then two (one of them in the Cup Final) in that tournament itself. [She was in the DBC46 squad.]

(#25) Beorranna Norr-Vurra _ Clan = Redwood; female Ursine; home team = Merlchester Rovers, category = Forward, usual position = Centre Forward or Right Forward (also has some experience as Left Forward, and as Right Winger); age = 22 years, left-pawed (so normally plays “cross-pawed”), fur = dark-medium brown with [natural] chestnut highlights; speaks English, Ursine, some Arttorranick; not closely related to this team’s ‘Attacking Coach’; rather a devout follower of ‘One Plus Seven’, but not fanatical about it and tolerates the differing beliefs of others perfectly well; friendly rivalry with Harroya o Sarrndale. [She was in the DBC46 squad.]

(#40) Amarr’hrrree o Redwood _ Clan = Redwood; female Ursine; home team = Kingly City, category = Forward, usual position = Centre Forward; age = 28 years, left-pawed, fur = medium brown with chestnut hints, 6’7” tall, powerful even by Ursine standards; speaks Ursine, English, [some] Artorranick, and [some] German; religion = Ursionity; interests include weightlifting, wrestling. [She was in the DBC45 squad.]

(#13) Hannorra Scarlett _ Clan = VerraVokksur [Free Sept]); female ‘Vokksurr’ [anthropomorphic Fox]; home team = LakePort Lionesses, category = “utility outfielder”, usual position = Forward or Winger (either side of pitch); age = 21 years (but her people mature slightly faster than either Bears or Humans, so treat her as more like 24 or so instead for most purposes), right-pawed, fur = gingery-red (slightly paler on chest & belly, but of course you won’t see that during matches unless her shirt gets badly torn); 5’8” tall, with a slender build by usual human standards — let alone by Ursine ones — but with visible muscles and definitely stronger than some people might expect, and has a bushy tail about 3’ long which she normally holds up behind her back (Pulling her tail may draw a retaliatory snap with her long jaws & sharp teeth, although she tries not to bite people in most situations; the likeliest result, if the referees is observant and honest, would be yellow cards for both players involved…); her leg-joints work more like those of a non-anthropomorphic fox than like those of a human, meaning that she looks rather as though she has backward-pointing knees but those are really her ankles instead, which might make her movements a bit harder for other people to predict (but also means that the bones below that joint are more numerous, and therefore thinner, and therefore slightly more fragile, than those between a human’s knee & ankle…); interested in fashion, and may affect a ‘warrior princess’ style for foreign media (to her team-mates’ quite amusement). [She was in the DBC46 squad.]

(#14) Rebecca Gold _ Clan = The Exodus [which is actuallya 'Free Sept']; female 'Ursommorphic' (i.e. somewhat Bear-like) Human; home team = Newton Arsenal, category = Winger or Midfielder (either side of pitch), experience = 4 years; age = 22 years, left=pawed, hair/fur = black, eyes = green, decent eyesight by Human standards, faster on her feet (but not quite as strong) as most female Ursines of her age & build (height = 6'1", about halfway between "almost Human" and "almost Ursine" which means slightly "skinny" by Ursine standards but well-built by Human ones); speaks English, Ursine, and Yiddish; religion = Liberal Judaism. (These qualifiers are her international debut, but she's credited with being one of the reasons why Newton Arsenal topped the National League last season...).

(#26) Sarranna White _ Clan = WestWoods; female Ursine; home team = Wiston City, category = Winger or Forward, usual position = Right Winger or Forward (‘Outside’) Right; age = 20 years, right-pawed, fur = ‘cream’; said to be better than most of her team-mates at understanding humans. [She was in the DBC45 and DBC46 squads.]

(#27) Jirroth’hra daughter-of-Harrieth’hrra _ Clan = Longwater [‘free sept’]; female Harr’aynau [humanoid]; home team = Heroes’ Park Heroines, category = Winger or Midfielder, usual position = Right Wing or Midfield Right, experience = 11 years; age = 28 years, right-footed, hair = chestnut, 6’2” tall, more lightly-built than is typical forHarr’aynau (more like a “standard” Human) build, and very fast on her feet; speaks Harraynau-Ursine, English, and Ursine; religion = Harr’aynau tradition of GreatBear-ism. (The WC84 qualifiers were her international debut.)

(This squad will be reduced in numbers, to the required limit, if we either qualify for the World Cup itself or are invited to its associated 'Cup of Harmony': We haven't yet decided exactly who wil be in that shorter line-up, so we'll be using players' performance in the qualifiers -- and in any friendlies that we play -- to help us decide.)

________________________________

Usual starters = #1, #2 & #3, either #4 or #20, #5 & #6, #7 & #11 & #12, #13 & #14.
Usual substitutes #15 or #16 as Goalkeeper; bench will include a suitable selection to cover all of the other positions as well, varying from game to game so that [probably] everybody gets at least one chance to play, with both international experience and success so far during these qualifiers considered when deciding which players to use against the higher-ranked opponents rather than the lowest-ranked ones.

Style: Offensive, modifier = +3.5 ("A good offence is the best defence"...). This has actually been reduced slightly since DBC#45, when they used +4.0 instead, because team training since then has included a bit more emphasis on tightening up their defence.
They have also modified their planned formation slightly from the “traditional” Ursine one, which included a front row of at least 5 (normally arranged as 3 strikers & 2 wingers), with 2 midfielders, 2 backs, and a ‘Lynchpin’ (whose starting position was approximately be at the midpoint of an imaginary cross drawn between those other four non-forwards’ positions). Two of the strikers now drop back to a bit behind the line formed by the Centre Forward and the two wingers (who might move “in” by a little bit, as well), while the Lynchpin is now stationed noticeable closer to the backs than to the midfielders. “Joining the dots” would, looking at the pitch from above and placing the Bears’ goal-line at the bottom of the picture, give you [approximately] a stretched-sideways ‘W’ in front of a stretched-sideways ‘M’.
\short passes and running with the ball are generally preferred to long passes, with those players noted to have better eyesight than the average Bear probably the likeliest to attempt -- or to be sent -- long passes.

Penalties and direct free kicks are most commonly the responsibility of Karra Brent (#12), unless they are “last minute” ones (or within a few minutes of the game’s end, anyhows…) and the Bears really need another goal to turn a draw into a win or or even a loss into a draw: In the latter case this role is more likely to be assigned to Harroya o Sarrndale (#5) instead, because she is more likely to remain completely calm in such situations. Harroya is also the most likely player to take corners.
Alternatively, taking a penalty might sometimes be assigned to a different player if it was a foul on that player which led to us being awarded the right to that shot.

Opponents who RP first may _
Choose my goal-scorers: Y, except that this will NOT be the goalkeeper.
RP injuries to my players /Hand out Yellow cards to my players / Hand out Red cards to my players: Y to all, at least to start with, but remember what I've written here and keep it in limits accordingly... Any really serious offences by my players would probably result in injuries to your players, and causing any serious injuries to my players would probably require such obviously-deliberate attacks that your players would get yellow or even red cards as a result too. Don’t kill anybody, or inflict injuries that would be serious enough to end careers, without checking with me & getting my approval (which is unlikely to be granted…) first. (#5) Harroya o Sarrndale should NOT be reported as being given any cards unless you can get my consent first. (#11) Karra Brent will NOT be injured by anything that ‘mundane’ players do during play, not even by the most open & violent physical attacks.
Godmod injuries to my players: N
Godmod Other Events: Y, I suppose, at least as long as you do so in an AMUSING way... but please remember that Ursines are fully sapient beings, as much as Humans are, not instinct-driven animals. Oh, and of course female Ursines are not sexually interested in Humans (of either sex), and it's very unlikely that female Harr'ayanau would be either. Please don't have them run amok or outright revert to animality, without checking by TG first, don't make assumptions about their views on politics or religion, and don't do anything that would make more than one of them incapable of playing in their next game...

Kit: This incarnation of the team will normally wear the usual set of designs (from ‘ediraf’) that the Belles have favoured in the past.

Bears Armed has traditionally used base-8 arithmetic, for several reasons, and the set of ‘shirt numbers’assigned to this team’s players has been determined on that basis. The nunber '10' (i.e. eight) has been "retired", however, to honour the memory of two earlier wearers who particularly distinguished themselves.

Home grounds

1/. Wimbley Stadium:[/b] Located a few miles to the north-north-west of Council Groves (our capital city), to which it is connected by rail as well as by road, this stadium was built from scratch — on part of a former Confederal Army base’s site — shortly before the qualifiers for WC52 began as a replacement for the Bear-Belles original “home” at ‘Plumtrees Park’ which has now been demolished. Its current capacity is approximately 60'000 for Ursines: Fitting about 40’000 humans into the visiting fans' half should be possible, and so that's as many as we'll let into the country. Accommodation for visiting teams & their staffs will be provided in a new hotel, less than a mile away, which has staff who are accustomed to dealing with Humans as well as with Ursines. The various other hotels in that complex and those at Council Groves can now provide about 12’000 rooms at a time, at varying prices, although of course some of those may already have been booked by people who have nothing to do with the Cup. Accommodation (at a fairly basic level) for up to 15’000 supporters will be available, at reasonable prices, in students' residences for the National University’s campus in that city: if any more than all of those facilities put together can house want to attend a match then they’ll have to borrow space in the area’s remaining Army camp instead...
There are still no direct inter-regional flights into Council Groves, so that visitors will have to travel by way of one of our neighbours and then continue onwards by one of the limited number of "local" air-flights or by rail. (People planning to arrive by rail will still have to travel via the nation of Mikitivity ... which still exists IC as far as the Bears are concerned, even though OOC it unfortunately CTEd years ago, because not only are there some bits of jointly-agreed RP that I want to keep but also that nation — and its routes onwards into the outside world — are/were located on the Bears’ most “accessible” border.)
This site will be used for most, but not all, of the Belles' matches... (ADDED: = All except those on MD6M and D18).
Chief groundkeeper: Birra’hrreua Lirrenbrock _ a female ‘Brock’ [i.e. anthropomorphic Badger][/i] form the Lirrenbrock sept [This is a ‘free sept’, i.e. a smaller political entity than a clan or a ‘separate demi-clan, and has its territory not far from Wimbley]; she is in the third generation of her family to work here, but is the first of them to be in charge (although that role has usually been held by a Brock rather than by an Ursine).

2./ ‘NorthLands National Stadium’: Located at NorthPort, the most cosmopolitan city in The Ursine Northlands, this facility was originally built for use by the 'Northbears' WC49’s qualifiers. Unfortunately the place has since seen rather less use than was originally hoped, but it is still in good condition and will hold about 43’000 Ursines or over 60’000 humans (or, of course, proportionate numbers of a mixture of those two species) because it was deliberately built to be rather larger than 'Plumtrees Park' which was then the Mainland's 'national' stadium…
This site will be used for some of the Belles’ home games (ADDED: MD6 against Valentine Z; MD18, against Strayaroos Barrier Islands), and also for some of any friendlies or matches in other Cups during this period as specified separately.
Foreigners coming to this stadium may either travel to the ‘Mainland’ and then continue hence via a set of ancient [& probably magical] ‘Gates’ that link the country’s two sections — completing their journey by either rail or riverboat after that — or take ship directly to NorthPort.
Chief groundkeeper: Gyrth’hrra ShipBear _ Clan = Seabear; female Ursine; age = 43, fur = light-medium brown; in her second year as boss here, after five years as an assistant; formerly a first-team goalkeeper with ‘NorthPort Voyagers’, who are one of this city’s two professional clubs, she had already started to study grounds-keeping before her retirement from play.

(In some previous cups a third stadium, at WestPort, was also used or a few matches: Circumstances [whose nature IC I have yet to determine, but OOC are that I still need to find its details…) mean that its availability this time around cannot yet be confirmed.

Venues for any ‘friendly’ matches arranged will be chosen closer to the dates of those games.

NOTES

Ursines and Harr'aynau generally retain their "youthful" vigour at least into their mid-thirties, which means that footballers can have longer playing careers than is the usual case for Humans: Those who are in their late twenties or early thirties -- as some members of this squad are -- are likely to be [at least] as fit as they were in their early twenties.
Ursines may tend to be a bit less agile & slower to accelerate on average than humans of comparable ages, but this team's members were carefully selected so the gap between them & their opponents in this respect should be narrower than some people might expect. They do tend to have [slightly] poorer eyesight than humans, on the whole (although the members of both Clan Gunnar and the Sun Clan are generally an exception to this rule, and the eyesight of the latter group is actually often at [slightly] better-than-human levels instead), so long-distance passes & shots at goal will tend to be rarer behaviour for them than they are for human teams... but their typical size & strength mean that when they're running with the ball it will probably take a very brave human — as well as a very skilled one — to tackle them successfully (or, at least, one who has reasonable experience of playing against Ursines…), which should balance that factor pretty well. They don’t jump very well, but then they’re generally rather taller than most Human players to start with so they shouldn’t need to jump as often in order to intercept [relatively] high shots...
Ursines are physically robust, of course, which means that they're much less likely than humans are to suffer injuries in falls or collisions. The females of this species are more even-tempered than the males, and the team's members will try to stay on their best behaviour not only in order to do well in this contest but also to impress upon the watching humans that Ursines aren't just "dumb beasts". They will not 'dive', or feign injury in other ways, because suggesting that they could be harmed so easily goes strongly against the grain. ‘Northlanders’ are maybe not quite as "civilised" as the 'Mainlanders'… or, at any rate, that’s the traditional stereotype..
They generally do not perform the sort of extravagant ‘goal celebrations’ that are seen in some RL football today. A brief hug from a team-mate, or just a pat on the shoulder, is usually all that happens…
Unless our hosts at the match in question object, this team's members (including the designated substitutes for the match in question) will perform a [fairly short] ritual that's called the 'harrdiharr' on the pitch just before play begins... This is a traditional war-dance, meant to over-awe opponents, that has come to be a customary prelude for team games as well (similar to the [RL] New Zealanders' 'haka'...).
As has now been seen during various tournaments, some of our fans like to take drums — and possibly also 'Urrs-horns' [which are similar to Alpenhorns, cow-horns, or other "musical instruments", too — along to the matches…

The team is accompanied by a number of sapient Ravens, who are there both to gather information about the rival sides and to provide air cover in case of hostile waterfowl.

The Valentian International Football Association - Same Aesthetics, Stronger Spirit.

Mew-mew… Mewwww. World Cup 91 wasn’t exactly that good of a mark for the Valentian Kittens, but they are not the one to stay down after being pushed down and getting outgoaled. Clarissa Alanis Star Samantha and Markus Tom Lincoln Svanmundur Gunnarsson feel that every game they play will bring them closer to the chances of breaking out of the qualifications, and hopefully a trophy of their own one day. That day is not coming anytime soon yet, this they know because of the sheer number of established teams, countries, and history out there. They will have to try, but they will not go down without a metaphorical fight. The Valentian Kittens have been rather stagnant as of lately, only getting involved in Independent Cup 16 a while back – for the independent nations such as Valentine Z which is not aligned to the larger sports teams and organizations, as well as the bigger worlds of multiverse, so to speak. Well-rested, with more goalkeepers, and the heat exhaustion from IAC-16 all being in the past, the Valentian Kittens walk slowly onto the season once again, hoping for a better outcome. Finally a pawsibble contest!

The Deltic authorities have decided to operate two squads, one for home matches and one for away matches. Please bear this in mind when RPing Deltic players at matches.

The Representatives are a team of amateur players from the Delte Valley area of a largely empty corner of the North Pacific region. There is a national shortage of graphic designers along the River Delte, with the one professional - young Slim Dyndeling, who plays football for Ughmirren FC in the Delte Valley Tuesday Evening & Sunday Lunchtime Super League - failing to win selection for the representative team again and refusing to help out with natty team graphics.

The Delte Valley Tuesday Evening & Sunday Lunchtime Super League is the principle men's 11-a-side league and The Representatives are a men's team; women's football along the river is primarily under the auspices of the Friday Night & Saturday Morning Premier League, a six-a-side highly technical fútsal code. The women of the Delte prefer not to engage in silly games of 22.

The Representatives
Home & Away Squads

As will be explained in coming RPs for this World Cup cycle, a condition known as hyper-gerontological syndrome, HGS, or commonly 'The Jerry' has impacted on travelling outside of the Delte Valley. To mitigate against this, the All-Week Super Ultra Premier Football Association, the FA, have forbidden previous squad members who travelled to away matches in the last cycle from travelling this time, to preserve their health. Therefore the FA has decided to operate two squads for this cycle, a home team and an away team. Players are allocated to one or the other, but not both.

The Deltic people are a stoic bunch, and the team plays in this style - not over emotional, not flashy, not given to wild celebration or remonstrating with referees, not diving or faking injuries. They shake hands when they score goals and pat each other on the back in encouragement when they concede them. Matches might be high scoring as they prefer an attacking formation but off the ball it's all rather pedestrian. They're not much use for post-match interviews.

Links in the squad list will take you to bios of the selected player, where they exist.

About The Representatives
& Deltic football in general

Delte is a narrow populated strip of fertile river valley approximately fifteen kilometres wide and ninety long, along the length of the course of the River Delte, located in a wild, largely empty and unnamed region and isolated from the nearest geopolitical entities and populous distant communities at the far corners of the cartographer’s charts, save for transportation routes - rail and road - which pass through the valley on the way from one significant populated centre to another, hardly without stopping. The population of the whole valley is about 48,000 people.

A combined management committee formed of members of the Delte Valley Tuesday Evening & Sunday Lunchtime Super League and the Friday Night & Saturday Morning Ultra Premier League represents the de facto authority for the sport and identifies as the All-Week Super Ultra Premier Football Association, or simply the FA, and employs one full time administrator/chief executive, Issenda Tenning (plus her PA, Oughar Sule).

The squad for the World Cup Qualifying is partly the one carried over from Cup of Harmony '83, as it was felt the team that had so impressively won The Nation of The Commonwealth of Baker Park Over-Achiever's Prize For Ninth Seeds by finishing fifth in their WC group and remaining undefeated by everyone who finished below them - even Darmen - and then reached the knockout stages of the CoH before being, um, knocked out, deserved more game time where they could manage it.

Enor Perro the young defensive midfielder was dropped from the representative team after the Baptism of Fire when he left the valley, having been spotted by scouts in Farfadillis and signing for Rülândéá Kôstä, to become so far as anyone knows the first professional footballer from the valley. Everyone is tremendously pleased for him and if he gets a game or two for the big club, they might commission a statue of him in his home village of Warkin.

Aleard Sullenden turned 42 just before this cycle, and coming off a heavy QC shift at the brewery which left him with a three-month hangover, decided it was time to hang up his Representative boots. Since he was the sole reason for the team competing in the World Cup cycle in the first place, it was decided he absolutely had to have some ongoing capacity, and so begins his career as a somewhat reluctant and sluggish coach. Not because he doesn't care about Deltic football, but because he's still nursing that hangover.

Roster Info
It's unlikely that this supposed strongest eleven will take the field together due to injuries, suspensions, or the manager just plain preferring other players, etc, so feel free to chop and change as much as you like.
  • Formation: 4-5-1
  • Style Modifier: -4

Potted history
  • Audioslavia reached the finals of World Cups 12, 19, 20 and 29, losing all of them and gaining a reputation as a team that chokes.
  • After thirty cycles away, Audioslavia returned to win the Baptism of Fire before World Cup 59, won the AOCAF Cup in cycle 60 and then won back-to-back World Cups in cycles 63 and 64. That's the golden generation right there.
  • Things went back to normal after that. The side lost a few more major finals, including World Cups 67, 69 and 76.
  • Audioslavia reached consecutive semi-finals in the World Cup before catastrophically failing to qualify for WC91. Nevertheless, the side prevailed in the tournament, adding the Cup or Harmony to their trophy cabinet and becoming the third side to win the coveted Grand Slam of all three WCC tournaments plus a regional cup.
  • Audioslavia is one of two nations to have won five major senior titles - BoF, CoH, WC plus two different regional championships.
  • Until recently, the side held both the CAFA Cup and the WCC Cup of Harmony simultaneously. Audioslavians had the absolute nerve to use the definite article when calling this 'The Double'

Style of Play
  • Post Football is the name given to Audioslavia's style of play. It's based on the idea that, the less the game resembles football, the more ill at ease your opponents will be. Audioslavia play dirty, sideways and overly cautiously.
  • Kontrapuntzeka is another word for it. Literally meaning counter-attacking, Audioslavia's national team are comfortable playing without the ball and charging forward in numbers when they do have it. Each player on this team has a deep understanding of how, when and where to attack on the counter. Losing the ball and allowing the Bulls to hit you on the break can be fatal to even the best teams in the multiverse.
  • Audioslavian footballers tend to be on the shorter, leaner side, with everyone outside of the goalie, centre forward and centre half topping out at about 5'10.
  • Audioslavian footballers are often tenacious and resistant, with the highest levels of stamina you'll see in world football. Audioslavian sides are often capable of playing at a high-tempo for long periods of time, and wins are often through attrition rather than skill.
  • Audioslavian teams are notorious for gamesmanship - the bending of the rules in order to gain an advantage. Players will taunt, feign injury, surround the referee, basically anything if it seems like it'd be beneficial. Audioslavians feel no shame in this. As far as they're concerned, their willingness to go further than the other team is a sign that they're more dedicated than their opponents might be.
  • As well as lacking a bit of raw power, Audioslavian footballers often lack technique compared to their foreign counterparts.
  • Above all else though, what Audioslavian national teams often lack is heart. The worse things are going, the worse Audioslavians play. They're the classic bully. When things don't pan out as they expect, they retreat physically and mentally.

This team
  • Helios Roy has become the fulcrum of the side's attack. First-person accounts of games are usually written through his eyes.
  • Roy may have made that forward slot his own, but he'll be under pressure from newcomer Wilhelm Hielscher-Zendagorta, a half-Audioslavian, half-Teus striker with caps for Siovanija and Teusland. S+T's departure from international football freed the striker up to represent another national team, according to the Valrauncion rule, and has duly been selected for Audioslavia. The manager has stated that Roy will start, but there's no doubt that Zendagorta is the more complete player.
  • Archer Flat is impossibly pale, very ginger, has an ugly scar on his face and basically looks like a cartoon villain. He is all that is wrong with the world. He’s been made captain for his inside-the-tent-pissing-out-ness
  • Flat's defensive partner, Obadele Volonte, is Flat's polar opposite. Tall, cool, calm. Wins balls through good positioning rather than murder, etc.
  • Manager RJ Styrn is noteable for being the first ever female player to play for the national team. She represented Audioslavia in the late 60s and early 70s, earning 70 caps. After spending time in Calorborne (a place in the multiverse where time runs as slowly as it does in real life) she made her return to the wider world a few years ago and ended up managing Guerrilla Cathair, helping the side earn promotion to the National League for the first time in their history.

About the Manager

Shane Newman is a Baker Park born, who took the chance to become the first NT boss for Havynwilde with an understanding that he would have time & resources to build from scratch. He was hounded by negative media coverage, the unrealisitc expectations of supporters & the governing body, and no investment to correct the dearth of talent in the domestic league. He was unceremoniously fired while out of the country on holiday. He'll consider his time there a learning experience. Was the chief defensive architect for the BPNT in the first three WC cycles.Aged 49 and married with three children--a boy and two girls--he will look to the domestic league for talent by focusing on technique, pace, and positional flexibility.

The Playing XI

#1 Steve Leghorn (Goalkeeper)
Steve Leghorn, that name when spoken in Indusse creates a legendary vibe. If anyone asks an Indussean who's your favourite goalkeeper, they would say without wasting a second that it's none other than Steve. Steve is well known due to his performance and his charitable trust. He's a well known figure in the nation who could be a political mastermind. He started his career in Trau de Mongers FC, a local football club in Southbay which soon died after his transfer. His quality performance in the club got him a direct ticket to Southbay Riveria FC B team and soon into the main team. He played for three seasons for Southbay and won the Golden Gloves award in all the seasons. His omnipresent performance got him into the national camp and get him into the best Goalkeeper the nation has ever seen. After this transfer from Southbay to Dhalopura FC, he's been winning all the Golden Gloves in the participated seasons without giving others a chance to snatch them. He's the real saviour of Indusse, saving the nation from the cannon ball like opponent goal shots.

#6 Sampath Singh Aksinwala (Defender)
The Aksinwalas are a well known wrestling clan in Sindvpore. They are those people out there who smash everyone down who stands against them. Sampath Singh Aksinwala could have followed his family customs and traditions and become a wrestling champion smashing all down like a rock. Well, he had started his sporting career as a wrestler back in his 13s but he slowly got interested in soccer and with his fit physique he was a perfect fit for a defender. At his early years, he always got red cards in his matches since he used to throw his opponents away thinking that he is wrestling. The Local Clubs still gave him chance to play and he slowly changed his wrestling in soccer into total defender football. He started to be known all over Sindvpore and he got another call from Sindvpore FC. He still plays for Sindvpore FC and played a major role in their Liga Prima Victory and FFI Cup Victory. He is now the vice captain of Sindvpore FC and is a really important member of the Indussean National Team.

#13 Mathias Paulson (Defender)
Mathias Paulson born to a wealthy Syrian Christian family in Southbay. He wasn't a soccer maniac or something, who would have started playing for clubs before teenage. He started playing at the age of fifteen for several local clubs including his school and college clubs. After this Sport Medicine graduation from Saint Louis Holiness College in Jawaruyah, he got a mail from the Jawaruyah XI FC for being a defence and fitness co trainer. With his outmost hardwork in the game, he soon won a lot of awards and got a call from Rockies International FC for being their defender. He soon left Jawaruyah for Rockies Islands, it was his perfect defending which let the club rise from Division to to Primary Division tournament Liga Prime. The Team reached top three of the primary division tournament after his arrival and he also received a lot of awards for his play. With his arrival in Liga Prime and as a successor to former Rockies Defender Maryland Bruno (Maryland is his nickname because he used to run a cookie brand called Maryland Food), he got into the radar of National team selectors. He later got the call of the selectors to join the national team camp which was the turnover in his career. He soon became a well known defender in the nation and the captain of Rockies International FC.

#4 Aaron McMuller (defender)
Aaron McMuller, born as Aaron Davis Miller is a thirty five year old defender who earned fame during the early transition period. He started playing for Malta FC at the age of Eighteen since his father was the owner of the club. Eventhough it's an unconstitutional admission to the club, he later got to be the key player of the team. His direct ticket to the club without any obstacles made his way to the national camp easy. His defensive analysis gameplay got famed through out Malta and it's neighborhood provinces of Sindvpore and Cheralam. With the fame rising and clubs waiting to get him to their home, the national team selectors caught on him and added him into the national team squad list. Everything was quick for him, the transition from a club player into a professional footballer. The transition from a rich kid into a really rich earning star. The transition from slow paced defense into quick defense and counter strikes... Everything. He is also known as the only defender in Indusse who has scored 100 goals in their domestic history.

#9 Alexis Budtedjson (Mid Fielder)
Alexis Budtedjson, that's the name of the all in all of pass gameplay. Budtedjson has been a major part of the team in every international match played. He has been scoring goals, defending goals and making ways for goals. A complete footballer they say, he's having the chance to be the next captain of Indusse if he doesn't retire. Alexis was born as a neighbor to Baskar Kumar and has been his childhood friend. Both of them started to chase their dreams together and it was Alexis who got into professional football first. Alexis started his professional career with New Hind City FC B team. His perfect play, in the B team got him into Dhalopura FC. His best career club ever, Dhalopura FC got him into fame and later Gav him the ticket to National Team. He scored his first international goal in his debut match and he says that it's his favourite memory. He later got transferred into Sindvpore FC and has been playing for the team. During the colonial era in Indusse, he started working for the national police force (NPF) and he got promoted into the assistant commissioner of Hind City. His wife, Samantha Budtedjson is a well known tennis player of Indusse. She's currently playing in the NSTT for Indusse.

#14 Djetson Hazle (Mid Fielder)
Born as Djetson Hazlett to Dr. Henry Hazlett and Maria Henry in Sindvpore, Djetson change his surname at the age of sixteen to Hazle for joining film industry since there was a prominent star "Philip Hazlett" existing. He couldn't do much in the film industry, which changed his route into football. He played for the national U-18 team due to his absolutely commendable performance for his club Sindvpore FC. His performance also brought him into the national team and got himself as.a key player. He still plays for Sindvpore FC and took part in the Championship of FFI. He is married to Katherine Hazlett, daughter of film star Philip Hazlett. Katherine is also a prominent film star in Indusse. Hazle also took part in futsal and also tried a hand in hockey. But he later realised that he was made for professional soccer.

#12 Rahul B Kumar (Forward)
Rahul B Kumar was born to the legendary soccer star, Baskar H Kumar as his only child in Derasar, Hind. Derasar is an offshore resort island owned by Baskar Kumar and David Beckem. Rahul was born to him when he and his wife was spending their vacation in Derasar. Rahul was send to Valley Bound International School in New Hind City to complete his primary education. At the age of 8, he got himself in the school's junior team and his performance got him to be the captain and at age of 12 as the School team's captain. Just like his father, Rahul took the path to be a striker and sharpshooter. At the age of 15, he got to be part of Hind City FC's B Team and also the Under-16 National Team. His colleague Goblin Grundjee got themselves to the national team. His performance for the under-16s and 19s brought them to the spotlight making way to the national team. They currently play for Neagra FC in the Liga Prime and at the same time they're taking BTech in Sanātana Dharma College, Hind City.

#7 Bechun Butea (Forward)
Once the best substitute to Baskar Kumar, now he faces a lot of competition from his fellow mates out there.Born to the family of footballers, Bechun didn't face any difficulty to choose his career. At the age of seven, his father admitted him to a local coaching center and with the basic skills got him into the Sindvpore Football Federation Training Center. Bechun's father was Takawilaka Butea, who got elected as the President of Sindvpore Football Federation. Bechun played his first professional match for Sindvpore FC and got transferred into Southbay Riveria FC. He later scored a lot of Goals opening his way to the national camp. He played as a captain substitute and vice captain of the national team and captain of Southbay Riveria FC until Baskar Kumar joined. He also played a major role in the Goblin Humanoid Project which created Goblin Grundjee, who's the first non human national player in Indusse. A football goblin was Bechun's idea. He also got the National Sports Academy Mentor post and is currently the cheif mentor of U-18 national team. His brother, Lalguvasara is the coach of Malta FC and his son Jackson Butea is playing for Sindvpore FC under 18 team.

#11 Antonio Mersiás (Forward)
The second youngest recruit in the camp, Antonio Mersiás is a well known youth idol in the nation. He was the captain of Indussean youth team in the Sporting World Cup. He led the team into the semi finals of the tournament till they lost to Starblaydia's young guns. He was born in Karadawadi, a county in Dhalopura to Francis Antony, who was a carpenter and Selina Francis. He lived as a poor kid going to the village school who wasn't so good at academics but bright in sports. His quality sporting skills caught the eyes of the headmaster there, who admitted him to the local football training sessions. The headmaster soon send him to the Jawal-Biesse the nearest city for his studies. He played for the Jawal-Biesse FC for three years and captained the team until he was called to play for the Dhalopura FC. He got selected to the U-18 team as soon as he played his first match for Dhalopura FC. His quality play in the club also got him promoted as the captain of the youth team. His awesome, historical performance for the youth team got him a quick ticket to the National Team Camp. He is currently an important part of the national team who cannot be replaced easily.

#100 Goblin Grundjee (Forward)
Goblin Grundjee who is the first ever non-human sportsperson from Indusse. The Grundjee's are one of the families of the Goblin species that was created by the scientists by DNA Modelling. The scientists created a new race of Goblins through gene editing and combining the DNAs of Humans with certain animals and Algae. The goblin species were divided into three families were Grundjees are one of the major part. The other two families are called Mithys and Auris. The current members of the grundjee family is Colonel Grundjee who is a Colonel in the royal army of Indusse. The gene of colonel Grundjee was created by merging the genes of three colonels of the army with the genes of a eagle and the green algae. The green algae plays a necessary role in getting the green Color of the skin. The other member is Goblin Grundjee who is currently playing for the juniors. His gene was created by merging the genes of David Bekem, a former football and of a wild horse. The green algae is also a necessary part of the composition. The grundjee family has the green composition of skins due to green algae. Whereas, Mithys has a brownish red skin due to the presence of Blue-green Algae with Iron sediments, Auris family has the skin Color of a normal human as there isn't any presence of algae. The skin textures and patterns of the goblins are same as the humans and the color is the only thing that can discriminate it with humans. The scientific community believe that the goblin race will create revolution in the world of science. The creation of Goblin Grundjee was overseen by fellow player Bechun Butea who also played a major role in bringing Grundjee as a experimental player. Well, Grundjee is currently one of the best strikers the nation has seen.

Home Ground

The Aditya Varma Kulashekara International Stadium, is home to the Flocking Blues and is the largest sports stadium in the nation. The Aditya Varma Kulashekara International Stadium can hold 131,561 spectators in normal cases. The most attendance recorded for an event in the stadium was 148,241 spectators. This historical event happened long before the current stadium had been built. The former stadium known as IFA International Stadium had just a capacity of 108,112 and the event was the Sworn-in of Baskar H Kumar as the first president of the Indusse. In other words, the sworn in was also the same as the nation's independence day. The most spectators for a match was recorded as 118,232 spectators for a match between Indusse and Pratapgadh which was once a derby match.
Image

This Stadium was built first by Aditya Varma Kulashekara, the emperor of Indusse at his reign. The stadium was built as part of giving the Indussean Football Association, a home ground. The Stadium at its beginning had a capacity of 62,122 spectators and was later increased to 97,783. The Stadium also in the past hosted the home matches of Royal Hind City FC (Currently, New Hind City FC) and Hind United FC (Currently dissolved). The Hind United FC got dissolved into Royal Hind City FC and the club through enough funding brought some land near the Darbar Halls and built a stadium there which currently serves as their home ground and the nation's secondary home ground. The IFA Stadium was built close to the Hind River and was surrounded by small forests. The place then known to be Kadaathaaaru was chosen for the stadium, the name literally meant to be "Forest River". The stadium continued to host the nation's home matches until the IFA was disbanded after the invasion of the Islamic Conquerors. The Dari Sultanate rulers took over the nation and placed a ban on all sort of native entertainment including music and sports. The stadium was taken under the custody of the Dari Military and was converted into a arena to propagate Dari Propoganda. The Stadium was renamed as Neimat Abdullah Arena and the capacity was increased to 108,112. The Neimat Abdullah Arena also became the public execution grounds of Natives in Indusse. The Dari Supressed Native Freedom Fighters were beheaded, hanged and shot dead at these grounds. After the Independence, the stadium was renamed as IFA Stadium and held the nation's first independence day celebrations. After a few years, it was renamed to Aditya Varma Kulashekara International Stadium and the capacity was increased to 131,561. The Government then also decided to set up a monument for the natives who were killed by the supression. The Divya Azadi Stambh (Divine Freedom Pillar) located in the stadium complex is the so called monument. This Pillar is an important part of the nation's independence day celebrations.

Southern Palm Islands is an island country located in Mandalanusa. It is also known as the Palm Islands or SPI. In ancient times, it was part of the Sripala Kingdom alongside Eraman (Northern Palm Islands), Sharktail (Western Palm Islands), and Pemecutan (Eastern Palm Islands). The Southern Palm Islands were first used as a trading post for traders from Indusse. The trading post grew so big over time that the Indusseans outnumbered the native Lanyarans on the islands. The Indusseans, after centuries of living in the Southern Palm Islands, thousands of miles away from their homeland, then developed their own identity and culture and are now called the Palmyrans.

Southern Palm Islands Football Association (SPIFA) is the main organization behind the development of football in the Southern Palm Islands. The Southern Palm Islands national team is one of the emerging nations in Mandalanusa. With the success of neighboring Pemecutan qualifying for the World Cup, SPIFA finally decided to send the national team back to compete with the rest of the world.

The Canadian Dominion Squad has shown some improvement and differences with small things and big things; one of these bigger things was defense. The defense was rough, and it was performing as the coach wanted, so with that, they started to work, putting both offense and defense through the wringer.

New Gelderland — National Football Team
Roster for World Cup 92 qualifying

INFORMATION

Manager: Image Nicoletta Arnaudo

After a sabbatical in the Savigliano countryside, Arnaudo parlayed a title winning season at Stade-Ferre in Savigliane to a four-year stint at the Chromatik club Felswyr. But the club suffered poor results in its last season, Arnaudo took the job managing the New Gelderlish women's team, initially envisioned for just the Olympics. But after Arnaudo led the team to a surprising and unprecedented gold medal, beating heavy favourites Eura in the final, the New Gelderlish Football Federation will now play in the World Cup qualifiers and perhaps beyond (but not too far beyond). Arnaudo will have the unenviable task of not having the team totally collapse against the high caliber of opposition like it did in the Eagles' Cup.

For purposes of scorination, New Gelderland will use a -2 style modifier.

Home Stadium
Two stadia will share hosting duties for this tournament:

MDs 3, 7, 11, 15, 19: National Stadium, Lexington

National Stadium

Lexington is the capital of New Gelderland and home to around 2 million people. While it does function as the capital, it also serves as a banking hub and a transportation hub, with links to Electrum. Lexington's nightlife and food options will also wow visitors at night, and in the daytime, spectators can visit any of Lexington's spectacular parkland. Lexington was founded when a group of Electrumite settlers migrated into New Gelderland looking for farming opportunities, and Lexington, situated at the confluence of the Rogue and Great Rushmori Rivers, was a perfect place to sell produce and set up markets. The stadium itself usually hosts Terranean League side Lexington Victory for its home games and sometimes hosts the New Gelderlish national team. It served as a host stadium for football at the Olympics and seats 47,500.

MDs 5, 9, 12, 17, 21: Olympic Stadium, Nassau Bay

Olympic Stadium

While not the political capital of New Gelderland, Nassau Bay is most definitely the country's economic, cultural, and sporting capital. Most of the country's premier institutions call this vibrant and cosmopolitan city of four million their home, including the country's main stock exchange, most of New Gelderland's major financial companies, and many premier cultural institutions, such as the ballet company, symphonic orchestra, choir, and theater. Nassau Bay also serves as a culinary hub, drawing on its roots as an agricultural terminus where products would be shipped from the fertile interior to other nations in Rushmore for sale, and is at the forefront of modern cuisine.

The Olympic Stadium in Nassau Bay, New Gelderland's largest city, holds a capacity of 54,000 when supporting football matches. A retractable seating area was used during the Olympics to convert the football pitch into a stadium suitable for athletics events. Olympic closing ceremonies and preliminary football matches were held in the stadium during the Olympics as well. Located in the Westmore Bluff area of Nassau Bay, the stadium's normal tenants are Olympic Nassau Bay. The stadium hosts a majority of New Gelderland's home matches in international sporting events.

Equipped with a youngish team, playing almost entirely domestically within the Afanc Strait Superleague, manager Arnaudo has her work cut out for her against the multiverse's top teams. They've only had one tournament together, and while explicit conflicts have yet to surface, Arnaudo feels that the team's chemistry isn't all that it's cracked up to be. And with no players in the neighboring top leagues of Nephara or Eura, they have little experience playing against the quality opposition that characterizes the Eagle's Cup and the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

Georgia Calder will anchor the team's defense alongside left back Zorina Engstrom, playing a mentoring role to the inexperienced Electra Villin-Sallow and Abigail Apollo. In the midfield, captain Allyson McKenna is an experienced box-to-box midfielder, supporting protege Minerva Hume Nelson, who has aspirations of being a similar player. In the wings, Tara Springsure and Camden Engstrom are young and energetic, although with a tendency to find themselves trapped too far up the field to be used for defensive purposes. Although star striker Jaclyn Swan-Weiss is entering the prime of her career, club woes at Celtic Noviodunum have hampered her performance recently. However, striking partner Carya Longreach displayed flashes of brilliance at the Olympic Games, leading to hopefulness among Gelderlish fans.

QUALIFYING POOL FOR WORLD CUP 92

ImageImage

INFORMATION

After a rogue Cenian FA member threw the Cenian national team forward in time 20 years in a vain attempt to remove archenemy Andrew Arrowsword from international contention, the Cenian football scene plummeted into disarray. The world-leading Terranean League disbanded, as did the Cenian national team itself. Many players continued plying their trade abroad, but a significant number also hung up their boots. Now that the forsaken team has returned, the Cenian FA reluctantly approved a return to World Cup competition. After a relatively successful WC campaign, and some political changes as well, the FA has grown more receptive to broader international competition, and it will attempt to qualify for the World Cup for a second time in the "post-portal era."

Manager: Image Luke Longstar

Luke Longstar has a long history as the Cenian NT's manager. After a disastrous World Cup 78 cycle, the Cenian NT replaced manager Elidyr Lyndanium with Longstar, fresh off a UICA Champions' Cup title with 1860 Azoth. Longstar immediately made his mark on the team with a winning record in a friendly tour and a semifinal appearance in the nation's first ever Copa Rushmori. In World Cup 79, which Ceni hosted, the team reached the quarterfinals, but unfortunately then returned to its perpetually unlucky ways in World Cup 80 with a shock loss to then-debutant Baker Park denying it a Round of 16 spot in the World Cup. And then the Portal Incident took place, sending Longstar and his team 20 years into the future, and a totally new era in football. Longstar is again at it, trying to pick up the pieces.

Ceni has always been an attacking side, although Longstar plays with perhaps a more restrained version of that model. Notably, the national team in the modern eras has never played with more than three defenders, although Longstar's specialty involves formations with one defensive midfielder to bolster the defense. As a corollary to that, Ceni's usual strategic mentality is to attack, attack, attack, usually with at least four attacking options along with two playmaking midfielders. Ceni does not usually play rough, but more cerebrally rather than anything else. The most likely way a Cenian will pick up a caution is arguing with a referee, probably over a very technical or minute section of the Code.

For scorination purposes, Ceni will play with a +3 style modifier this tournament.

For the first time in Ceni's footballing history, Longstar has adopted a pool approach for the qualifying tournament. Whether this is a full pool or just a "kiddie pool" is up for debate in the international press, however, as it only consists of 34 players to be considered for the 26-person squad that will be selected for each qualifying match. Despite a "default" and "next gen" starting lineups presented above, Longstar will likely take a mix-and-match approach, especially for lower stakes matches against teams in pots lower than Ceni's, so as to save the more experienced players for the higher-stakes matches. I will endeavor to post a starting lineup for the upcoming matches in each RP.

About Ceni
Ceni is a small island country of around 5500 km2 located in the eastern parts of the Rushmori region of Terranea. Although it has no land borders, the nearest countries are Electrum, from which it is separated in the west by a narrow strait, and the Isles of Avon, a small republic located to the east in the same island chain. With a population of just over 13 million, this makes Ceni one of the densest countries in Rushmore, at around 2360 people per sq km. Ceni is also one of the most urbanized countries in Rushmore, with the three major cities, Cenial, the capital, City Centre, and New Oxford, forming one large urban agglomeration, with the city petering out around the edges of the metropolis. Climate-wise, Ceni has a temperate oceanic climate, with the influence of the ocean helping to moderate both the summers and the winters - temperatures are almost never extreme either way, cold or hot.

Historically, Ceni was first settled by a group of people, ancestors of the Fereldan, who spoke a language, Ancient Cenian, that survives in many Cenian names and which is related to modern day Avaerilonian (the prevailing theory suggests that these people migrated from an area in New Gelderland, across a land bridge to Ceni, and then across to Avaerilon, where they settled later in time). The name Ceni itself comes from a corruption of an Ancient Cenian word for 'White Cliffs', which described the cliffs near the present day Dover. These people stayed in the area around Cenial for a while until a group of settlers from Eura arrived and settled in the southern half of Ceni, displacing some of these populations. A Spanish population from Valladares arrived and set up a colony in the north of Ceni, hoping to set up a port for the growing nation, but when the city of Junin was settled, these settlers were disappointed, nonetheless deciding to stay and send seafood to the Valladar communities as well as lobbying the government to set up a port in the north. These communities formed the backbone of a thriving Hispanic population in Ceni.

In the face of a rising Euran threat, these various colonies - the Fereldic population, the Spanish in the North, and Euran/Cenian mix in the South - decided to unify their solitary island in order to coordinate their defenses and reduce infighting. As the Euran threat died down, the Cenian government retooled its economy to provide services and goods to the growing Euran industrial economy while still remaining a bit on edge. As the economy bloomed, a group of Avaerilonian refugees settled in Ceni after escaping one of that country's long wars, establishing a Cenian tradition. These refugees contributed to Ceni's rising high-tech and service economy as the country moved into the 21st century.

Ceni's government is a parliamentary system with a one-chambered parliament, the Cenian Assembly, which has 235 representatives in it; the Prime Minister is the head of government, while a ceremonial President is the head of state. More locally, Ceni is divided into 14 districts, which serve to administer most of the government's services to the people and giving them local control, with a Chief Minister heading the government in each district; most districts have a District Council of either 7 or 9 councilpersons, headed by the Chief Minister. The Cenian people love their elections, with more than 80% turnout most times. Economically, Ceni has a large financial sector along with large pharmaceutical, high-tech, education, real estate sectors, and renewable energy sector. Ceni has a large GDP due to its proximity to Eura and the Euran economy and also a large GDP per capita, one of the largest in the region. Cenians enjoy a high standard of living as well as a large social welfare net and free education, courtesy of a Scandinavian-style liberal government.

Ceni will play its home games in the following stadiums:

Game Stadium Location Capacity

MD19 vs. Savigliane Bicentennial Stadium University Green, Cenial 75,000
MD21 vs. Valentine Z Cenial Halcyon National Stadium Halcyon Park, Cenial 85,000

The Cenial Halcyon National Stadium is located in the Halcyon Park in Cenial. With a capacity of 85,000, the stadium has an unique roof which is retractable in case of inclement weather, preserving the optimal climate for spectators inside the stadium; the stadium also has won plaudits from national team players who say the stadium is one of the best grass pitches they have played on. Built by the international firm Cityscapes Architecture and Construction, the stadium has connections to Cenial City Airport on Line D of the Metro and Cenial International Airport on Line C, transferring at Broadgreen Station.

When elected as the host of Baptism of Fire 63, the Cenian FA decided to upgrade some of the facilities at the stadium, including the press box and VIP box, as well as installing WiFi access for all seats, following the example of the Alexander I National Stadium. Notably in the history of the Cenial Halcyon Stadium, Ceni qualified for its first World Cup on the grounds of this pitch, defeating Gregoryisgodistan (now South Covello) on penalty kicks to qualify for its first ever World Cup. The Halcyon National Stadium counts itself as one of the greenest buildings in Ceni, making use of solar panels wherever possible, recycling water and heat through its system (so that water used to water the pitch can be used in the toilets, etc.), making use of recycled materials in constructions, and other eco-friendly measures to reduce its energy footprint.

Image
Designed especially for World Cup 76, the Bicentennial Stadium also was designed to celebrate Ceni's 200 years as a unified country, which managed to coincide with the World Cup. The stadium, which seats 75,000 people, is the epitome of modern stadium standards, with modern amenities and television screens along every corner. The stadium was designed with a modernist view in mind, with curving lines as well as interesting use of 3-D texture, and the seats inside being ergonomic and comfortable for viewers. The home of Phalanx AF, Bicentennial Stadium is located in the heart of the bustling city of Cenial, near the University Green and the location of several major Cenian universities, so the stadium is the favorite of many a college kid coming in to watch a game. The fact that this stadium could fit in the city center is a testament to Cenian urban engineers' prowess in getting the maximum out of every square meter of space.

Image
The Volatus Millenium Stadium is home to Ceni's (former) best club, Tir Snake Strike, and routinely draws its full capacity of just under 60,000. The stadium is known for its modern curves and structure designed with lots of glass and its 'high tech' appearance, earning the stadium its name of 'Millennium' - the stadium's design reminds people of a new era in stadium construction. The Millenium Stadium is very open to sunlight and has a great temperature when the conditions are just right. Nearby are the indoor tennis courts that host the Volatus Open, in the run-up to the Cenian Open. Again, the stadium is well-connected to public transport, but visitors coming from Cenial might have to spend a little bit of time getting to the stadium.

Westgreen is an affluent, suburban Ceni on the western coast of Ceni. Built very recently to be the home of a Afanc Strait Superleague side and to upgrade football facilities outside the Metropolitan Tetrad, Westgreen Park Stadium is designed with the "park" designation in mind, featuring vertical gardens throughout the building and ring of trees between the stadium's outside and the pitch. It is even more sustainable than the Cenial Halcyon National Stadium, with net negative carbon emissions and solar panels on the roof.

Roster Explication (i.e. unhinged, unorganized rambling)
Ceni's roster contains a mix of veterans and newcomers. The veterans have had to reevaluate their place in international football after a relatively underwhelming transfer window: While players like Valaran, Onasi, and del Toro were previously used to playing at the pinnacle of international football on the domestic side, they're now playing for either domestic teams in the untouchable (in a bad sense) Afanc Strait Superleague or for minnows in foreign leagues. Out of this group, Marc-Andre Onasi has perhaps landed on his feet the most, playing a role in the Quebecois side Perce Town's run to the Challengers' Cup quarterfinals.

Perhaps the biggest shock has perhaps come for the younger players who were beginning to enter the peaks of their careers before the Portal Incident. Now, with sides the world over having selective memory for their performances 20 years ago, players like Sascha Falkenrath and Zane Kirchner have (reluctantly) decided to ply their trades at recently promoted sides in bigger leagues, even though they (most likely) won't see international club competition for the foreseeable future. But it seems like the boys may be back in town in Lexington, New Gelderland, where Avi Renning, Asher Koromin, and Marco Santa Oria — up-and-coming footballers before, and still up-and-coming footballers now, thankfully — form the backbone of the team. (And it's entirely possible that Koromin and Santa Oria will take del Toro and Onasi's places in the midfield more often than not.)

And then there are the younger players who are coming of age firmly in the post-Portal Incident era. This generation won the U-18 World Cup in Gortolekua in Ceni's first time of asking in that tournament, so the high expectations are on their shoulders. Jaina Beren and Vyn Voren look promising as a new backbone for the defense after two of Ceni's defensive stalwarts (Liam Lorechian and Miri Windtide) look poised to retire within the next cycle, perhaps portending a four-person Cenian defense at some point. Aidan Koromin is doing his family proud with a Golden Boot spell at Polaris, and Sebastian Ellex-Mar lit things up at Olympique de Rimouski in Quebec. Don't expect Longstar to call either up too much, in respect of their young ages, but do expect them to be called up.

Mosfleet Albion Players Return After Legal Threat
But Parodi, Ferrier and Rossi Left in Cold

After the FF launched an unprecedented legal challenge against Mosfleet Albion, their players have finally returned to the national team fold.

This development clearly boosts the options at Benni Massi's disposal, adding several of the most competent performers back into the starting lineup. This comes at the conclusion of a Baptism of Fire campaign that can be categorized as disappointing for Elmyia as they failed to progress out by goal difference.

Mosfleet Albion players had dropped out on mass from Massi's squad in protest against his appointment as national team manager. His previous history of making statements criticising Albion's approach, incendiary comments about certain high profile players and his bitter, personal, rivalry with Albion manager Paul Reynard are all things that would have factored. Reynard has maintained, on record, that he had nothing to do with the decision, but most consider that he must have had some input on the decision due to the en masse withdrawal.

The return of these players begs questions over the extent to which they will be willing to follow Massi's tactical approach. He has been known previously for his disregard for man marking, and focusing on quick, direct counter attacks using width, at odds with most managers in the league. He now gains a group of players used to playing in a highly opposing style to his own, and will need to coach them to play to his methods or adapt over the course of the qualifying campaign. In public, however, the players have made clear they are at his service, Froggatt fronted up to the media to say "we come from a highly intelligent and capable group of players, I have no doubt we can add to how the national team are playing."

As for Massi, he maintains he is thrilled to gain access to these 'supremely talented players'. He has also continued to push the line that they can, and will, learn to play his way. He has also stated that 'the past is the past' and they have put their differences behind them for the national good.

Despite this, something of a statement has been put out with three players left out. Parodi at full-back and Rossi on the wing were both back up options prior to Massi taking the job, their inclusion under previous manager, Giovanni Varisco, had been slightly controversial. The dropping of Henrietta Ferrier is slightly more suprising, she has performed well for Albion across the season and the majority of domestic managers would kill to have her in their team. Tactics nerds are likely to bring up that Ferrier is a strict person to person marker, which makes her an awkward fit for Massi's zonal approach.

Going into qualifying and Elmyia face a daunting task against sides far more advanced than them. With just two qualification slots available, Elmyia may well believe that progression is impossible. Valanora, in particular, look like 6 lost points, with 5 world cups to their name. There are also familiar opponents in Oberour Ar Moro, who previously dispatched Elmyia 4-1, and Arjunnagar who Elmyia have managed to edge past before. Ultimately, we might conclude that qualifying is then an opportunity for the team to gel and improve how they play together. This might take some of the pressure off of Massi to get results and allow the team to improve, 22 games gives him the time to coach his style of play.

Here is the current squad and what we can expect the players to bring to the table:

Usual Starters Numbered 1-11
Goalkeepers
1. Ernest Butler - 30, Mosfleet Albion
12. Andrea Silver - 25, Italia Mosfleet
25. Redvers Johnson - 39, Diepfleet

No surprises here, Ernest Butler comes back and reclaims the number 1 spot. As much as Massi might want players to sweat their places having ditched and run, Butler is by far superior to the alternatives. Playing behind a less talented defence than Silver, his supreme reflexes and bravery in coming for the ball give him a major advantage over competent, but uninspired, alternative. Silver returns to the number 2 slot after a BoF where she performed at about par. The only slight surprise is that Johnson of Diepfleet keeps his place in the lineup ahead of previous number 3 Tatiana Mikou. There is no doubting that Mikou is younger, more agile and probably the better keeper. Massi's logic is likely that having an experienced head in the dressing room, who remains very unlikely to play, will benefit the overall cohesion and ability of the squad.

Centre-Backs
3. Maria Grosso - 26, Hellenic Sports Club
4. Mario Freschi - 31, Italia Mosfleet
5. Reggie Flewin - 31, Mosfleet Albion
13. Antonia Chizzo - 35, Italia Mosfleet
14. Nancy Savalas - 18, Hellenic Sports Club
15. Phillip Rookes - 30, Mosfleet Albion

Flewin and Rookes make their returns to the lineup, with Sally Smith of Munster making way as a squad player. The named starting centre-backs has generated a high degree of surprise, Flewin, Freschi and Grosso all make a start. All three are, primarily, sweepers for their club. Usually teams would only deploy one sweeper, and this might be due to the strict defensive line that Massi is trying to implement. Grosso, Freschi and Flewin are all recognised, however, as some of the best defenders in the league, all covering space incredibly well. Freschi is the standout star, known for his positioning, intelligence and acumen in the position. Of the three, Grosso is best known for her passing range and ability, it will be interesting to see if these three can gel when they're all used to playing the lead role in their own defensive line.

Left-Backs
2. Jimmy Dickinson - 23, Mosfleet Albion
16. Monica Rossellini - 29, Scolastico

Andrew Awfield get dropped from the squad for now, the 18 year old had been ideal for Massi's style of play, but at only 18 he could use the time for development. Instead, Rossellini keeps her place in the squad as backup, and Jimmy Dickinson returns to the lineup. Dickinson offers slightly less offensively than Rossellini, but is a sturdy and diligent player in defence. It remains unclear if the plan is to develop the offensive part of his game, to alternate the two on situation, or simply accept that the attacking threat down the right will not be coming from Dickinson.

Right-Backs
6. Jenny Scoular - 26, Italia Mosfleet, Right-Back
16. Matilde Pizan - 27, AS Catamouge, Right-Back

No changes here, Scoular remains in place as first choice and Pizan will simply be forced to deputise. Scoular has slightly more attacking threat in her than Dickinson, and has been known to make the odd driving run down the wing. She will offer an outlet on this side, and is probably one of the best tactical fits for what Massi seems to want. Pizan, however, doesn't offer much in the way of depth, being possibly worse in both defence and attack than Scoular. She will likely only come on if Scoular requires rest, which with 22 games internationally and a minimum of 38 domestically, she surely will.

Midfielders
8. Vita Speight - 19, Italia Mosfleet
11. Genesio Chapman - 25, Sablegaard
18. Valentina Galli - 18, Scolastico
19. Len Phillips, 26, Mosfleet Albion
20. Doug Reid - 22, Diepfleet

Whilst Len Phillips returns to the squad, it does very little to disturb the settled lineup. Speight and Chapman continue to hold down the two starter slots. Speight remains preferred despite frequently being subbed during the Baptism of Fire, her young age and willingness to learn and add elements to her game certainly helps in this regard. Chapman remains in, a versatile all-rounder, she is perfect for playing as part of a midfield two. This might be the area of the pitch subject to the most frequent rotation, changes to the midfield balance came frequently from Massi in the past. On the bench and Reid offers a lot more directness in passing to the team, whilst Phillips is a great option for keeping it tight at the back. Galli, meanwhile, is young and still being blooded into the side, although she remains a player to add intelligent passing and movement to the side.

Left-Wing
10. Jackie Froggatt - 25, Mosfleet Albion
21. Sofia Katsouranis - 23, Scolastico

Froggatt and Katsouranis have been the two players to start in this position for Elmyia, and here they remain. These two offer very different contributions to how their teams play, and it will be interesting to see if Katsouranis is used as a starter. Froggatt cuts inside to a greater extent, an intelligent dribbler and finisher, she also gains assists through short passing in the box. Katsouranis, meanwhile, is a very different player. Hugging the wing, charging to the byeline, adding width and crossing. Katsouranis will surely be used when looking to stretch the opposition wide, a decision that might be forced if Dickinson starts at right back. Froggatt, however, is possibly the most inventive player in the country. This one area of strength in the side comes as the exception, not the rule.

Centre-Forward
9. Vesper Benedetti - 18, AS Catamouge
22. Ike Clarke - 33, Munster
23. George Byng - 20, Chipping Sersbrek

Centre-forward is increasingly looking a problem position for Massi. Bernardini being sent home from the Baptism of Fire has not given way to detente yet, so the options are limited. Benedetti provides a lot of hustle and industry, his game is very well rounded in terms of providing link up play and end product. However, it remains to be seen that he can produce such form against top opponents, and he often looks like a headless chicken out of possession. Still being young, surely some time in the lineup will help him to develop. His understudies are Ike Clarke and George Byng. Clarke is an ageing striker, and provides strength and the ability to hold up the ball and get on the end of crosses. That he is unable to run might prove a slight hindrance at the top level. George Byng, meanwhile, is quick, agile and can unsettle defenses with his bursts of pace in behind. He does have an issue in that his finishing and passing are often wayward, it remains to be seen if he can develop past the one dimensional.

Right-Wing
7. Carlo Beluigi - 30, Italia Mosfleet
24. Phoebe Harris - 29, Mosfleet Albion

Harris returns to the lineup, but must find her way past Beluigi to get back in. Harris offers plenty in her positioning, passing and game intelligence, but she is incredibly slow for a winger and is unlikely to be selected unless there is a packed defense to break down. Beluigi pulls ahead on the strength of being marginally quicker, but this is a problem area for Massi.

Godmod scoring events: Yes
RP injuries to my players: Yes
Godmod injuries to my players: Yes

World Cup 92

Sargossa - 'The Corsairs'

Head Coach

Slavko Jelic (Mytanija)

After a dismal second half of the World Cup qualification campaign and an early exit from the Cup of Harmony, coach Alejandro Echeverría decided enough was enough and called it quits. His replacement may be something of a left field choice, but he certainly ticks a lot of boxes. A coach with vast experience who has spent more than a decade at CDSA in his homeland, creating teams that have consistently punched above their weight. Most recently he led the Decraa based side to Challenger’s Cup qualification. Recommended for the role by Mytanar legend Lev Repin.

Backroom Staff

Assistant Head Coach: Momchil Klemetic (Mytanija)
Assistant Head Coach: Eduardo Larrea
Defensive Coach: Luis Sánchez
Attacking Coach: Joaquín Gutiérrez
Set Pieces Coach: Manuel Semprún
Goalkeeping Coach: Dario Almirón
Fitness Coach: Luis Miguel Sacristán
Team Doctor: Dr Carla Segura

Talent

GK: 1. Alejandro Martínez (32) – Sportivo Soluca
GK: 13. José Manual Acosta (24) – Dínamo Maturín
GK: 25. Jacobo Robles (27) – El Nacional

As a teenager Martínez was touted as a future star by no less a luminary as former Corsairs’ keeper and coach Martín Tejera. He’s now spent more than a decade proving that praise to be justified. Still undeniably the nation’s top keeper. Acosta is a local lad from Maturín who has come through the ranks to star in the SuperLiga. Robles too earns a first call-up and is reliable pair of hands if called upon.

DR: 2. Tobías Figueroa (27) – El Nacional
DC: 5. Iván Franco (27) – Sportivo Soluca
DC: 6. Nicolás Riesgo (20) – 1923 Esca (Mytanija)
DL: 3. Alfonso Barrueco (28) – Ciudad Soluca
DRC: 12. Adrian Soriano (25) – Ciudad Soluca
DC: 14. Juan Miguel (26) – Dínamo Maturín
DL: 19. Milagros Fernán (22) – Lok. Cassia (Mytanija)
DC: 21: Joaquín Sanz (23) – El Nacional

He may not have been in post long but the new coach hasn’t been afraid to ring the changes. Andrés Obregón, Juan Manuel Martí and former captain Máximo Moya seem to have paid the price for the last campaign’s woes. In have come Dínamo’s Juan Miguel, after being named in the SuperLiga team of the season, and Ciudad’s Adrian Soriano, who can operate as a centreback or on the right of a back four or back five. Milagros Fernán offers similar versatility down the left, having often been deployed in both defence and midfield in the past. But the most interesting addition is Nicolás Riesgo. The Sargossan-Mytanar defender is earning rave reviews in the Mytanar Top League and the FFS are hoping to steal a march on the FSM in claiming the youngster’s international future. Having a Mytanar in charge can’t exactly hurt either.

DMC: 4. Marcos Águila (29) – El Nacional
AMR: 7. Édgar Elvira (30) – Dínamo Maturín
MC: 8. Enrique González (30) – Ciudad Soluca
AML: 11. Jorge Sarmiento (25) – Sportivo Cordova
AMRC: 15. Agustín Soria (28) – Sportivo Soluca
MC: 16. Juan Esteban Collazo (21) – CDSA (Mytanija)
DMC: 18. Alejandro Gaich (24) – Ciudad Soluca
MC: 22. Juan Sebastián Varela (30) – Alianza Jucaro
AMLC: 24. Martín de la Cavallería (23) – Dínamo Maturín

Jelic has favoured a 3-5-2 system in the past but the suggestion is that the new coach wants to build a solid base and may instead deploy a 3-4-2-1 formation instead. This would see the wingbacks used further forward, at the expense of the more offensive minded wide players in the squad. González will likely keep his place in the centre, but who partners him is the big question. Varela is his regular neighbour in the system, Águila provides a more defensive option and newcomer Collazo is an ever-willing all-rounder who the coach knows and trusts from their days together in the Mytanar Top League.

FC: 9. Mateo Manzanares (27) – Dínamo Maturín
FRLC: 10. Pablo Alarcón (27) – El Nacional
FRC: 17. Jeremías Saavedra (25) – Ciudad Soluca
FLC: 20. Juanma Varela (27) – Piratas De Ariaco (Costa Izula)
FC: 23. Gustavo Alcocer (19) – Atletik Thessia (Mytanija)

Manzanares remains the nation’s principal goal threat and whether the coach uses a single striker or a front two you can bet that the Dínamo will be there. His squad mates though are an interesting batch. Saavedra is a class act but injuries limited his action last season. Pablo Alarcón is a true phoenix rising from the ashes tale. An enfant terrible who looked to be wasting a prodigious talent through a series of disciplinary and off-the-field issues. Thankfully those issues now seem to be behind him. Certainly El Nacional have benefitted from the newly focused Alarcón. Varela is an even stranger pick, plying his trade out in the colonies. But the Izulan player of the season has buckets of class and will be featuring in a newly reformatted Sargossa top flight next season. And Alcocer is another of the talented batch of Sargossan-Mytanars. Most of his appearances for the Mytanar title holders have come from the bunch but the lad has serious potential.

Style

In Sargossa the three at the back is king so, for a coach who is no stranger to three centrebacks, Jelic should have little impediment in implementing his favoured tactical plans. Although the word is that he may be parking his favoured approach for a 3-4-2-1 system, albeit with his preferred 3-5-2 in the back pocket if necessary and an alternative back four option if it's all going totally pear shaped. Traditionally Jelic’s sides have been strong defensively so expect the Corsairs to soak up the pressure before launching their own counter attacks. Set pieces will likely play a key role too. Specialised set piece coaches are much in vogue domestically and Manuel Semprún has been poached from champions Ciudad Soluca to fill the role for the national side.

The SuperLiga is quite a physical league so challenges can often be described as 'uncompromising' and cards are pretty common. Gamesmanship, while not encouraged, is not entirely uncommon. But diving is considered particularly stigmatic so Sargossan players are unlikely to be found doing it.

Venues

Estadio Generalissimo Joaquín Delgado
City: Soluca
Capacity: 108,879
Tenants: Ciudad Soluca, Sportivo Soluca
Opponent(s): The Licentian Isles, Squornshelan Remnant States

The centrepiece of a major beautification development in the capital, the stadium sits within the Parque De Los Vencedores and alongside the Corazal River. Designed by Nethertopian architect Gert Naamloos and part financed by two SuperLiga clubs, the Sargossan government and Starblaydi sportswear giants ediraf it is a truly magnificent sporting arena. The Estadio Generalissimo Joaquín Delgado, as the ediraf Arena was rechristened when the naming rights deal expired, is the epitome of a modern football stadium. Consequently, it is the national side’s most commonly used venue. Unfortunately, the glamourous surroundings are marred somewhat by the Soluca crowds’ reputation for being both fickle and moody.

Image
Image

Independienté
City: Goza
Capacity: 119,354
Tenants: El Nacional
Opponent(s): Kandorith

The very antithesis to the modern Estadio Generalissimo Joaquín Delgado, and revelling in that fact. The internal facilities may have been kept relatively up to date at the Independienté but little has changed at the vast open bowl since its construction. The nation’s largest sporting venue and one that prides itself on the genuine carnival atmosphere produced on matchdays.

Ciudad Deportiva
City: Maturín
Capacity: 52,000
Tenants: Dínamo Maturín
Opponent(s): Bongo Johnson

Although the name has come to refer to the stadium alone the Ciudad Deportiva is actually a whole site devoted to sporting excellence. Constructed as part of a government drive to boast sport, the site is also home to the national Track and Field Centre of Excellence, an aquatic centre, basketball and volleyball facilities and a state-of-the-art sport science clinic. The stadium itself is an impressive venue that is regularly voted as the top matchday experience by fans in the SuperLiga. The Sargossan record there too is very strong, having dropped points only three times in matches played in Maturín over the years.

Estadio Silva
City: San Marquez
Capacity: 62,543
Tenants: Sporting San Marquez
Opponent(s): Yuezhou

Like the Independienté the Estadio Silva is one of the older venues used by the national side. Set within one of the poorer districts of the eclectic southern city of San Marquez, in amongst the brightly coloured favelas and street vendors, a trip to the stadium is more a cultural experience than a sporting one for the foreign visitor. Some famous nations have taken to the Estadio Silva turf in the past, names such as Sorthern Northland, Candelaria And Marquez and Cassadaigua.

Bonilla Arena
City: Jucaro
Capacity: 74,475
Tenants: Alianza Jucaro
Opponent(s): South Covello

The quintessential rich man’s play thing, Alianza Jucaro are the nearly men of Sargossan domestic football. Bankrolled by the mega-wealthy Bonilla family the club have won three national cup competitions in recent years but have never claimed the league title they so crave. While the Bonillas have thrown money at the playing staff they’ve also invested heavily in infrastructure, including the stadium that bears their name. Set in the South Quays district of the port city, right on the waters of the Bay of Carrasco, it’s an imposing venue for visiting sides.

Petro Dome
City: Mercada
Capacity: 42,511
Tenants: Petro Mercada
Opponent(s): Ranoria

In a city so synonymous with Petro National, the Sargossan national oil and gas company, it’s no surprise to find both the local football team and the stadium in which they play blazoned with the Petro name. Oil wealth has yet to equal success on the pitch for the Incan side but that wealth may have played some part in the city replacing island rivals Torreón in the regular World Cup rotation.

El Torrigal
City: Torreón
Capacity: 30,000
Tenants: Estrella Torreón
Opponent(s): Boring Paradise

One of the nation's oldest and most picturesque venues returns this time around. Nestled in the mountain fastness of Torreón, high amongst the Chalaco Mountains, El Torrigal is the smallest of the venues but one in which Sargossa enjoys a formidable record, largely thanks to the altitude. Dropped from hosting duties to accommodate the Petro Dome in nearby Mercada, but reinstated following a vocal public outcry.

Estadio Bolero
City: Daroca
Capacity: 44,866
Tenants: Daroca Marinos
Opponent(s): North and South Vietnam

Having dropped out of the rotation for several World Cup cycles, the Bolero returns again and looks to becoming a regular fixture. Laying on the edge of the port city’s historic market district a matchday experience can get cultural if you’re not careful.

El Viñedo
City: Camíri
Capacity: 39,428
Tenants: Club De Camíri
Opponent(s): Pyazhnaya

Nestled in the leafy heart of Sargossa’s wine country, a trip to El Viñedo has been a welcome excursion for football fans up and down the nation. With its oak panelling, gourmet cusince and copious amounts of products of the owner’s wine empire matchday in Camíri tends to be pleasant regardless of the result. Makes its debut as an international venue.

This cycle is the cycle, said Mertagnian pundits, players, and fans alike. And you could be forgiven for doing the same, as the nation shocked and amazed in last cycle's Cup of Harmony, held on home shores, with a 4th place performance after losing out to sporting giants Cassadaigua. The CAFA, fourth of its name, came and went, and in doing so acted as a bitter tonic for the team, humbling them after a terrible run in a Casaran system that did all to push them just shy of the Quarterfinals of the tournament, in that they were knocked out in the large single group stage. 16th, in a tournament of 30, was just under par for a team that entered the CAFA with a 'torrid sense of entitlement'.

After an off-pitch campaign to enthuse the national spirits in a time of general malaise across the multiverse, Mertagne have rallied around one of the largest sporting flagpoles in the multiverse - the World Cup. This cycle, the competition will bring 32 lucky teams to either Electrum or Vilita, and the FMF, alongside its fans, are determined for one of those thirty-two to be famous Green Goblins of Mertagne themselves.

Ázëwyn Fëanáro has learned from facing off against a variety of teams in the CAFA exactly worked and what didn't for her squad, and the Starblaydi elf was spotted furiously scribbling an arcane chart of notes during key Baptism of Fire games in order to gain a sense of the up and coming in the tactical game, and then planning to mitigate it and do the exact opposite. It's not that Fëanáro is proud or set in her ways, it's simply that she understands that this incarnation of the Mertagnian squad is best off focusing on the fundamentals of scoring before trying any fancy tactics that sound like genres of music. With new restrictions on the number of players that can be selected for a single tournament*, Fëanáro and Ettrick have faced tough decisions in ensuring that only the best of the best are selected to represent the nation. Some harsh cuts have been made, but many national mainstays have remained a part of the core squad. New blood is slowly creeping its way into the squad, but the recent success of the Green Goblin side has led management to trust in what they already have, leading to a balance in age that sees more seniority pushed towards the attacking third. However, one key addition to the squad comes in its support staff, as following Mertagne's time in the multiversal limelight, a 'Media Consultant' in the form of Ellis "Lis" Lawrence has been hired to ensure that the play during interviews is as slick as the play on the pitch. Ázëwyn Fëanáro, who needs no media training after being one of the most famous faces in the multiverse, has kept revealingly quiet about his appointment.
*Whether these come from the WCC, the CAFA, or just from the FMF itself, is yours to determine.

Mertagne's style of football has affectionately been referred to as 'pre-football' by eminent journalists across the region, focusing on the fundamentals of making ball go fwoosh towards goal in front more times than the other folks on the pitch can. Key members of this squad include Briac Lewis, who will be looking to make a better run of his captaincy now that he has had time to move out of the shadow of a soon to retire Claudio Vantula. Martine Aldergrass continues to be just as effective an assister here as she is domestically in Tikariot, and it's incredibly likely that she'll be doing much of the grunt work for this team, giving it a left-side bias on the whole when combined Fligsive FC's hottest new signing in Corrie Kidman. Neron Everdell and Pia Aziz in midfield are chalk and cheese, with Everdell learning from the worst best in Audioslavia, and incorporating tactics you'd normally see in a mugging into his control of the ball. Aziz, on the other hand, is cunning in a cleaner way, often presenting opposing attackers with an impossible choice of getting politely yet candidly tackled by Aziz, or taken down in a show of theatrics by Everdell, who is also one of a trio of horrible picks for penalty takers that will ruin your day even further if the match requires that key kicking tete-a-tete. Finishers up front for this squad include the ever impressive Tara Number, who'll certainly have yours if you get in her way, and Heather Gell, who's developed a brilliant ability to size up the opposition and effectively cut them down with either a string of judgy insults or lithe play. Mostly both. Frederick Prost rounds out the first choice attacking three, and is looking to complete the experienced front end. Star substitutions will come from name such as Holly Eveson, whose ability to turn around a lethargic late-game squad is unparalleled, and Haizene Fairchild, who is reliable enough to come in clutch when an attacking opponent just won't break against the defence.

Mertagne will play their qualifying games at three stadiums: the Neorudo Cop Limy Stadium (Capacity: 96,300) in the southern city of Neorudo, the Flynn Ar3na (Capacity: 88,750), in New Fligsive, and Dannin City Stadium (Capacity: 85,750), in the central capital of Dannin. Each of these stadiums has a long and sordid history, having hosted many WCC competitions in the last few cycles, including the previous two Baptisms of Fire and the previous Cup of Harmony.

Kits lovingly provided by Kirola Sportswear of Audioslavia.

For cycle 92, Mertagne debut their brand new kits, courtesy of Kirola Sportswear, Audioslavia. The striking novastrella seen on the splendidly Anaian third kit (centre) is reimagined for a new Mertagnian age on the home kit (left), in a patriotic lime, integrated with a unique arrow pattern emerging, much like the national team's success, up from the bottom. The away kit (right) echoes the folded geometric design of the FMF crest, with a shape that contains elements of a folded 'F' as well as a series of stacked 'M's, in another arrow motif that this time points downwards. FMF and Kirola representatives violently refused to comment when one keen eyed journalist noted that the colours of the away kit were 'essentially a reverse Krytenia'.

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:

Godmod scoring events: Yes
RP injuries to my players: Yes
Godmod injuries to my players: Yes, but no outright killing.
Hand out yellow cards to my players: Yes
Hand out red cards to my players: Yes
Godmod other events: Sometimes. Send me a TG with what you're planning and I'll approve it if I like it.

SQUADRA NAZIONALE DI JUVENCUS

Image

Information about Juvencus:
Capital: Pomena
Population: 130,656,702 ethnic Juven, with a total of 150,048,720 including naturalised immigrants.
Demonym: Juven
Country Code: JUE
Football Association: JFA(Juven Football Association)
Nicknames: Gli attaccanti(The attackers), La squadra(The team)
Football philosophy: At this point, to play football in Juvencus you need to understand that no matter who you are, pushing forward is the MOST essential core value you can bring in your game. Both strikers and defenders alike are equally likely to strike from any range at any time. Defense is not neglected, but is not as valued as being a scary goalscorer up front.

Starting XI:

GK:Juan Carlos Ungaro(Age 24)(U.S Scudelli)
Description: Taddeo Bulgari's retirement from international football has basically paved the way for Juan Carlos Ungaro to showcase his goalkeeping abilities on the big stage as la squadra's main goalkeeper. A positionally adept goalkeeper with a keen eye and focus on the game and with fast reflexes to top it all off. He is the perfect goalkeeper to sustain many oppositional attacks when it matters most.

CB:Carlo Callejon(Age 27)(Brattleboro FCImage)(Second Captain)
Description: Callejon was dropped off by Chromatik club Wirr Tsi on their quest to strengthen their squad. This ungrateful behavior by the club has spited Carlo Callejon who is essentially at his peak. He is quick, and while hot-headed manages to at least keep his composure when he is pocketing strikers of all shaped and sizes. He possesses an accurate tackle and will rarely, if ever, get carded for that. He is also a leading presence in the pitch and is rumored to take over the lead from Martell as soon as his time is over.

CB:Pau Puig(Age 24)(AC Serone)
Description: Puig is a giant flesh wall to get through, while slow, he tends to position right and is impossible to dribble past. Other than that, he is also able to keep his teammates in check when it really matters and is very football-smart. He is also the defence's only reliable aerial duel winner, winning most, if not all aerial duels he participates in.

CB:Izotz Ibarra(Age 34)(AC Pomena)
Description: Ibarra is no player to quit, he is still a strong positioned player and has an infamous crossing ability that few Juven players possess. Age might be creeping onto him but most of the time he will still perform as if he is in his peak years. He is still the main mentor for the younger defenders that he has bonded with over the years.

CDM:Josefina Portieri(Age 24)(TihonImage)
Description: Josefina Portieri is a classic example of an accurate Juven passer and strong long distance shooter, traits that give her a commanding presence on the pitch. She is a player that can quickly change the tide of the game if given enough space, either by a surprise through-ball or even a goal out of nowhere. She is also a very technical player, with exceptional dribbling ability and is great at carrying the ball forward.

CDM:Pierre-Didier Kouyaté(Age 27)(U.S Scudelli)
Description: The half-Banijan mastermind of the team, Kouyaté has always been dubbed as the successor of Russo when it comes to his playstyle. Much like him, he might dictate the speed and pace of la squadra's play, with an excellent vision and brilliant passing ability to show for it, which contributes to the high amount of assists he provides. He can also fulfill the duties of a supplementary defender, as he possesses iron lungs and can move freely all around the pitch.

RM:Júlien Cantù(Age 32)(Dhun Lagarr FCImage)
Description: Cantù has always been the orchistrator of right wing offenses, an accurate passer and pretty decent dribbler, he sticks to the sidelines most of the time. Might give that cheeky unexpected assist from out of nowhere and is also a very keen goalscorer, especially from mid-range since he has a very odd shooting technique that gives any ball that jabulani(stole that from RLStates, ha) effect.

LM:Michelangelo Santini(Age 29)(Dhun Lagarr FCImage)
Description: Santini is the fastest sprinter on the pitch. That is not his only trait, however as his speed usually gives him a lot of space to work with and organise multiple attacks from the sides, with a lot of volleys and crosses coming from his part to provide for a lot of goals that the team is meant to score.

LF:Joaquim Martell(Age 38)(Ausharmuj MarusiImage)(Captain)
Description: This man has gotten old, but for some reason his touch is still golden. That left foot can score any kind of goal from any side of the pitch, he can provide assists, he is still the most terrifying Juven presence on the pitch and for some reason he does not seem to be slowing down, despite his age, being fast and agile still. Expect a lot of goal participations from the player who could perhaps be the most legendary in Juven history and one of the most underrated players of all time.

RF:Joao Pereyra(Age 25)(BrinemouthImage)
Description: A technical player, with the ball always stuck on his feet no matter how many people you dump on him. Once given the space, his finishing could be considered one of the most clinical in the team. While he also does not shy away from providing tons of assists for his teammates, since his dribbling ability also gives him a lot of space to work with. He was a starter for Brinemouth's squad in their Associations' Trophy victory, and with his mentality through the roof, he will be a main man for this time.

CF:Julio Campana(Age 24)(New Lakeland Soccer ClubImage)
Description: Julio Campana comes from a line of goalscorers. A strong right foot, he usually scores rockets when it comes to scoring from long distance and usually prefers to use his weaker left foot for chips and close-range shooting, for extra efficacy. He has a devastating header with a high goal percentage which is owed to the fact that his explosive jumps make him perfect for winning aerial duels. He had a monster season in Cassadaigua, crushing every single opponent and hogging pretty much every single award available to him.

Main Substitutions:

GK:Sócrates Wright(Age 22)(AC Pomena)
Description: Wright might be a surprise entry in this list. But fret not as he possess undeniably the best vision out of any goalkeeper in the Campionato and managed to save the AC Pomena side from multiple embarrassments with his excellent leaps and heroics. He is a clutch goalkeeper and perfect for saving penalties.

CB:Lucia Agnelli(Age 23)(Victoriaville CityImage)
Description: Positionally adept with great tackling ability. Lucia Agnelli has all that is required of a Juven defender. Due to her small stature and short gravity center, she is also able to attempt risky dribbles on the defensive side with a high success rating.

CB:Carlos Coste(Age 23)(Glenmount TownImage)
Description: Coste has an eagle eye, with a good crossing ability. Aside from that he is very focused in the game and possesses highly accurate passing that is useful for fast counter-attacks.

CDM:Giuseppe Conte(Age 25)(AC Serone)
Description: Giuseppe Conte is not the flashiest player in the team, however he possesses a high effectiveness level in regards to his crossing ability as well as a sickening ball handling technique that makes it hard to get the ball away from him.

CDM:Félix Sissoko(Age 24)(Kingston FCImage)
Description: When in need, call Sissoko. Sissoko can instigate attacks out of thin air with a simple cross, or just a pass. His vision allows him to be always updated on the game. Though not particularly endurant, he makes up for it by being put in his place and playing his game. He is also lucky enough to have a slightly better chemistry with his squadmates than other players, no matter the enviroment.

RM:Chimo Quaranta(Age 26)(AC Serone)
Description: Chimo Quaranta is the definition of speed and intelligence, a mirror of Santini, yet probably slightly more intelligent with the ball on his feet and instead of being a faithful crosser, he prefers to keep the ball low while crossing on occassion, with high levels of success.

RM:Simon Oliveira(Age 24)(AC CuttiImage)
Description: Simon Oliveira is very much a nuisance to play against, a swift dribbler, excellent passer with a high chance of raining long-distance attempts at a goal or assist, the Osci side's prospect has potential only few players could ever have. Lots of rumors see him returning to the Campionato for a chance at glory, however he is also keen on the improvement of his -formerly- native Oscioru.

LM:Lucien Cavallo(Age 27)(AC Pomena)
Description: AC Pomena's midfield maestro, Cavallo is a flexible midfielder, often times switching sides in the midfield in an attempt to find the perfect position to orchistrate an organised attack, with some surprise elements and it works a lot of the time. While not directly scoring or assisting much, his input is of utmost importance as he starts a number of frontline offensives which lead to goals.

LM:Carla Acquati(Age 23)(AC CuttiImage)
Description: Carla Acquati is an expert at making the long game. She is speedy, yet she also has the stamina of a marathon sprinter, players going up against her have been reported to fall on the ground. She was pivotal in AC Cutti's double.

LF:Edu Coste(Age 24)(AC Pomena)
Description: Coste has a specific dribble that is predictable, yet impossible to stop no matter what you do. What he will do is go to the far left corner, cut in to the open space, use his speed to dribble through the defenders and score a magnificent goal with his incredible finishing ability.

LF:Ganymede Garcia(Age 24)(MipojoseonImage)
Description: Garcia is a big game player right off the bat, he will score that one random header or tap-in when you least expect it, however he is a clinical finisher regardless. With traits like that, he is perhaps the team's only remaining poacher up front, despite his winger status.

RF:Patxi Etxeberria(Age 33)(AC Pomena)
Description: Etxerberria has decided to give some playing time to the younger generationby stepping down and becoming a substitution, so that there is more fluidity up front. That should not fool you however as he is still a dangerous player to play against and his numbers in the Campionato as well as international club competitions show for it.

RF:Gilberto Soares(Age 25)(U.S Scudelli)
Description: Though normally a deadly striker, Gilberto Soares possesses explosive speed which allows him to be dangerous out of dead air, which is a very critical trait for a winger and a player who could just not be left out of the team. He also possess cat-like leaps that allow him to jump high in the air, giving him an advantadge in headers.

CF:Giordano Limene(Age 28)(Garden CityImage)
Description: Limene is on fire, an unstoppable attacking machine that keeps on scoring and scoring with every given opportunity. Despite a long waiting time for his engines to start, when they do start, they do not stop no matter how many walls will be put on that defensive line. An innate ability for curved shots, it is very hard for any goalkeeper to stand a chance against him. He has been unstoppable in the Flavovespian league, bringing terror to the sides he has played against.

CF:Benedikto Urruchi(Age 25)(Gehrenna FCImage)
Description: If not for the generational talent of Campana, he would be the main striker for the team for years to come, he will be his scariest competition however. He is a clinical finisher, able to use both feet with high efficacy and is also incredibly fast. There is no way to stop him other than to foul him endlessly. He is also a penalty and free kick specialist, with a high conversion rate for both.

Reserves:
GK:Olarre Gabarri(Age 29)(U.S Remeno)
GK:Iago Asputti(Age 25)(Pesebal BalunImage)
CB:Salvo Baldi(Age 21)(Herona Calcio)

CDM:Vitale Cino(Age 26)(AC Picilia)
RM:Ekain Zuñiga(Age 33)(AS Aguajú)
LM:Léo Henriques(Age 30)(Herona Calcio)

Roster comments: The last cycle was a good indication of how strong this team really is and how strong it can become. A great showing in the qualification stages, despite the heartbreaking defeat to Saint Eleanor in the playoffs guaranteed the team a spot in the Cup of Harmony. Despite the focus being on the upcoming Independent Associations Cup, a respectable run to the round of 32 was a good mental booster before coming back home. There, in home crowd they managed to go on an unbeaten winstreak until the quarter-finals of the Independent Associations Cup, their strongest showing yet, while also showcasing a strong attack, resembling the attack that the team exhibited during the cycles 80 to 82. Madeiros has finally let a few veterans hang their boots and give space to new players to lead the team forward and will be looking to maintain that positive outlook.

Il Nuovo Stadio Olimpico della Pomena, Pomena(Capacity: 137,000)
Image

The team will be returning to its initial home, the stadio Olimpico in Pomena, a state of the art and gargantuan stadium, it hosts the games of AC Pomena in the league as well as the Copa di Juvencus final. It has all sorts of amenities in and out of it from shops, to vendors, lounges as well as everything else one can put on their mind.

The stadium of the capital has a different vibe from the previous Vinceti Catedral, all this colorful vibrance suddenly turns into an intimidating atmosphere which accurately represents the deep history of the nation. The chants feel a lot like a call to arms, ready to strengthen the Juven players while drums rhythmically beat through the entirety of the game. If a goal is scored, the loudest screams are to be heard throught the entire city, every celebration starting from this place is an emotional, triumphant celebration, echoing through the nation. After hosting the 3rd place playoff of the Independent Associations Cup 16, it is a safe stadium to visit and the people in it will try to carry on the legacy.

Located on the legendary Taranta Quartier of Pomena, it is in a central position not too far away from the city center and it is easily accessible by any means necessary, such as by train(being near the Taranta, Antelope and Vittoria stations), by bus, or by car.

KRYTENIA 2302 WORLD CUP SQUAD
Modifier: +2.75

Image
Beginning their football journey way back in the second Baptism of Fire competition, Krytenia are one of the oldest national teams still competing in international competition. With five World Cups hosted, as well as a smattering of AOCAFs, Cups of Harmony, Baptism of Fires, and even a CAFA Cup, they also have a deserved reputation for organising top-level football competitions. What they don't have, though, is a reputation for winning. They are yet to win a World Cup, and indeed have only reached one final, losing to Aguazul in World Cup 58. Five semi-final defeats are what set the tone for the Dragons – indeed, losing in the semis of a major competition is known as the “Krytenian Curse”. That said, there is silverware in their cabinet. Having created the AOCAF Cup, Krytenia eventually won the fifty-second iteration of the competition; more recently, they won Cup of Harmony 78 and nearly added a second two cycles later, losing to fellow co-hosts Græntfjell on home soil.

They may have a reputation as the multiverse's nearly men, but never let yourself be deluded that the Krytenians are defeatist. Even though they may come up short, it's a very rare thing to see a Dragons team simply give up. Be aware that when the sky blue shirts are on the field, you will be in for a tough game, and victory will always be hard-earned.

Image
Manager – BRELK-XERAL Erv (QUS), Age 60
Started their career in his native Qusmo, where they brought first KF Atlov and then Atlov Juzuna to prominence (or at least relevance) in the domestic and international game. This led to them getting the national team job at Brenecia, which resulted in a Campeonato Esportiva trophy. Having replaced Richard Valens in the hotseat – and then faced off against him three times in their first cycle as Valens landed the Ochre Islands job - “BXE” is now looking to push the team on to the next level.

Assistant Manager – Graham LAWTON, Age 49
A surprise appointment, but one in keeping with the philosophy of Brelk-Xeral Erv. Lawton has ascended to the role from his stint as manager of Ashton Olympic's Under-21 setup, and will be on board to help develop the younger players in the squad. Has already built a rapport with BXE, with the pair's approaches to the game complimenting each other nicely.

Goalkeeping Coach – Aaron SHEPHERD, Age 42
Defensive Coach – Andrew THORNTON, Age 55
Offensive Coach – Alex VINELLI, Age 47
Physiotherapist – Stephen WILLIS, Age 61

Image

Logan CAMPBELL
Age: 31
Position: Goalkeeper
Club: Caledon Simpson

Hair like a surfer, hands safe as houses. Campbell looks like a poster boy for a completely different sport, but he's no slouch between the sticks.

Image

David HRUBESCH
Age: 27
Position: Goalkeeper
Club: Royal Emberton

An agile shot-stopper willing to throw whichever body part is necessary into the path of an opponent's shot. Has a tendency to parry or punch rather than grab the ball, however.

Image

Gabriel ALMADA
Age: 23
Position: Goalkeeper
Club: Avidia United

A safe pair of hands, though could work on his positioning. Almada's distribution, on the other hand, is top notch.

Image
Image

Paul VONN
Age: 30
Position: Right-back
Club: Sandwell Rangers

Hard-running energetic full-back who is not afraid to throw himself in front of a cross. Vonn does tend to struggle sometimes when opposition wingers pull inside him, though.

Image

David GREEN
Age: 25
Position: Left-back
Club: Ousevale Borough

Pace for days, decent positioning, can be a liability with his tackling. Let's just say his Ousevale team-mates are well-drilled in defending free kicks from wide positions.

Image

Gavin HEALEY
Age: 28
Position: Centre back
Club: Mercia Bromham

Promising young talent with top-notch ball playing skills. So full of running, you'd swear he was powered by the mains.

Image

Sonny CHIESA
Age: 26
Position: Centre-back
Club: Tanques AOE (KOR)

Has a maturity beyond his years, marshalling the Eagles' defence. Not the quickest but has the yards in his head.

Image

Stephen LORIMER
Age: 22
Position: Left-back
Club: Ashton Olympic

Solid full-back with excellent positioning skills. Lorimer does, however, lack the pure pace and adventurousness preferred by Brelk-Xeral Erv.

Image

Shaun EVANS
Age: 27
Position: Centre-back
Club: Leston Town

Definitely one from the Ross Green Acadamy of Defence. Clinical in the tackle and good distribution in the pass.

Image

Marcus WOODFORD
Age: 28
Position: Right-back
Club: Mercia Bromham

Played right wing as a child, and tends more to the attacking than the defending side of things. Does mean he can be caught out of position on occasion.

Image

Robert GORMAN
Age: 21
Position: Centre-back
Club: Bradwell Saints

A thinking man's defender, Gorman is a calm head on young shoulders. Not the best in the air, but makes up for it with accuracy in the tackle and excellent distribution.

Image
Image

Savannah QUINN
CAPTAIN
Age: 25
Position: Central midfield
Club: Straudum VV (KOR)

Surprisingly few women make it into the national team squad, despite Krytenian football not being gender-segregated. Quinn is absolutely here on merit, though, and in World Cup 92 will become the first woman to captain the side. An absolute dervish with the ball at her feet; her and Scott Stringer will be looking to be the fulcrum of the Dragons' attack.

Image

Scott STRINGER
Age: 29
Position: Central midfield
Club: Ousevale Borough

The central midfield position is the centre of gravity around which the Krytenian attack orbits, and there are some who felt that young Stringer wouldn't be up to the task. Ousevale fans, though, knew better, with favourable comparisons to the great Ricky Sexton being bandied about amongst the Southern Arena faithful thanks to his sublime skills on the ball. Exploded onto the scene in Cup of Harmony 82; the doubters are now curiously silent.

Image

Carlos SENNA
VICE-CAPTAIN
Age: 32
Position: Left midfield
Club: Holdenberg City (EUR)

Diminutive but speedy, Senna is brimming with confidence. Set-piece specialist; there are few in the game better at taking corners. Vdarans don't rate him for some strange reason; Eurans, on the other hand, absolutely do, and Senna is now on his second club in the nation after a successful spell at Honeybadgers.

Image

Liam HAYES
Age: 25
Position: Right midfield
Club: Mercia Bromham

Tall for a winger at 6'3”, and looks like he should be tripping over his own feet. Despite this, is deceptively skillful with the ball at his feet. Will drift in to threaten the box if the ball is on the other flank.

Image

Leon JONAS
Age: 29
Position: Left midfield
Club: Casuals Osteria

Cerebral winger. Not the fastest, but knows his angles; could probably cross the ball through the window of a moving car.

Image

Andy McCULLOCH
Age: 27
Position: Central midfield
Club: Caledon Simpson

Hard-tackling defensive midfielder; if he's on the pitch, either Krytenia are defending a lead, or someone – probably Starblaydia – needs to be taught a lesson.

Image

Simon MASARI
Age: 24
Position: Right midfield
Club: Casuals Osteria

Has the unenviable task of replacing Robert Reeder in the national team. Seems apt he's broken through at Reeder's old stomping ground, then. Loves a stepover, will try and create separation for a cross.

Image

Niall MONAGHAN
Age: 26
Position: Central midfield
Club: Emberton Hibernians

Slide-rule levels of passing accuracy; built like a twig, though, and can be a little easy to muscle off the ball.

Image
Image

Mark PETRACCHI
Age: 23
Position: Half-forward
Club: Emberton Reds

Marauding forward, comfortable playing as a target man but prefers creating space and confusion in front of the defensive line. Has the unenviable task of stepping into the shoes of Cande Montalban.

Image

Angus JACK
Age: 20
Position: Striker
Club: WSR AFC (KOR)

In the words of the Cyan Army:

“He's just A. Jack in the box, from the region with a fox, and he can score just about anything....”

Image

Remy SEYDOUX
Age: 26
Position: Striker
Club: CFF Monthuez

Very much in the mould of Alun Belmwr, right down to English not being his first language. Nicknamed “Monsieur Magnifique” by his team-mates thank to his tendency for the spectacular.

Image

Ben STEWART
Age: 22
Position: Half-forward
Club: Mercia Bromham

Loves to speed down the channels, creating chances for his fellow front-men. Lacks a bit of commitment in the shot himself, though.

“System Erv”, named for the new manager is, on the face of it a 4-2-3-1. With the Krytenians on the ball, however, expect this to change quickly to a 4-2-4 as the second line pushes up to support the striker. The two holding midfielders will be the fulcrum of the attack; expect the ball to move quickly between light blue shirts, especially on the counter. Press, pace, and overloading and overwhelming opposition defences will be the order of the day.

Off the ball, Krytenia will play a high line; they may be vulnerable to balls over the top – if opposition attackers can time their runs to avoid the offside and beat the Dragons' defenders for pace.

by Kelssek
Summary
Kelssek's tactical culture is fluid and direct, generally favouring technical and versatile players. The team boasts a high-skilled and creative midfield with a threat from some top goalscoring talent. While not weaknesses per se, goalkeeping and central defence are areas where the team is pretty average.

Cathal Gallagher GK, Shearwater, b. Tête-Jaune, Konoha (age 34) - 72 caps | An agile, technically sound shot-stopper. Could do better in commanding his area and susceptible to getting bullied at corners. Champions League winner with Shearwater.

Ryan Terlock GK, Holdenberg City [EUR], b. Wynleth, NC (age 23) - 7 caps | Potentially the Colm Ó Tuathail of goalkeeping, which makes no sense whatsoever but everyone says it because he's a promising talent from the same youth club.

Cassie Mrythe GK, Star of Confederation, b. Neorvins, NFT (age 30) - 5 caps | A solid pair of gloves, vocal and commanding with her defence. SoC club captain.

Pietro Salinas GK, Marque [BRE], b. Burnaby, Kon. (age 28) - 4 caps | Things went horrifically wrong when he finally was thrust into the position of number one for Burnaby, but on simple ability he is still one of the best keepers with a Kelssek passport.

Nacuémiró Buené D/M L, Burnaby SC, b. records sketchy, Farfadillis (age 27) - 41 caps | Patriotes Cup winner and three-time league champion. A skill player with a great cross, defensively sound but prone to get bullied by bigger attackers.

Tim Bowler D L, Gladerial United [VAL], b. Newmarket, NC (age 33) - 122 caps, 5 goals | Galacticos longlisted solid defensive full-back who can hold up the ball and overlap well.

Phillip Lozic D C, Jinlal Cove [VIL], b. Stawamus, Konoha (age 28) - 73 caps | Mobile, athletic central defender with a strong aerial presence.

Jean-Phillippe Auiloquet D C, CF Outineau, b. Outineau (age 33) - 21 caps | Hard to beat him in the air. Has nerves of titanium when it comes to playing the ball in his own penalty area.

Lily Marshall D C, Ulsa Rovers [EUR], b. Kirkenes, Noua Cymru (age 25) - 22 caps, 1 goal | Makes smart interceptions, and is better at playing the ball than tackling it, truth be told.

Ingrid Lambert CB, Burnaby SC, b. Burnaby, Kon. (age 26) - 6 caps | Athletic tackler and ball-playing defender who isn't afraid to get forward. Already a stalwart of the Burnaby backline and tipped as future club captain.

Taylor Barris RB, Aspel [EUR], b. Coal Harbour, Haligonia (age 27) - 5 caps | Quick, likes to dribble, has a viciously accurate cross, inexplicably bad at shooting.

Curtis Holman CB/RB, Gallant Cross [BRE], b. Langley, Kon. (age 28) - 17 caps | A crafty operator on the flanks or a reliable ball-winner down the middle.

Ryan Dumont D L, Strathcona Internationals, b. Kirkenes, Noua Cymru (age 31) - 23 caps | Positionally sound, technically average, likes to take on his opponent. This occasionally has disastrous results.

Teadgh Brewer D C, Fiskadaha [PFA], b. Vickery (age 30) - 9 caps | Determined bulldog of a player, precision tackler and reads the play well, but not the most mobile.

Issac Lafrenière M LC, Kionao Locals [TUR], b. Outineau, Beaulac (age 28) - 65 caps, 4 goals | Creative, flashy, can unlock the defence with incisive passing from deep, and drops like a rag doll if he thinks he can get a free kick.

Êsêkïl dí Völará M C, Mâ Âlâmëómë [FFD], b. NaN, Farfadillis (age 25) - 43 caps, 2 goals | A deep-lying playmaker who relentlessly recycles possession and is hard to get around with the ball on the ground.

RaÏf Ducharne M C, Latrobe Athletic, b. Glen Eira, Etn. (age 31) - 5 caps | A real midfield general who has flourished in recent years, powering his club to the KFL title and bagging the Player of the Year award. Challengers Cup finalist.

Gabriel Lapierre M C,Trebuchet Cham [ZWZ], b. Laval, BL (age 33) - 127 caps, 30 goals | Exciting, creative midfielder and a potent attacking threat thanks to his ability to find passing lanes others don't. Former Taeshan Foreign Player of the Year and was named to the "Galacticos" shortlist as one of the world's 50-ish best players.

Eamon Breault M C, Shearwater, b. Breton, HG (age 24) - 0 caps | A technically adept pinger of the ball into channels, Breault caught international notice on Shearwater's run to the Champions League title.

Émile Robin DM, Chalesm [SRS], b. Langlois, Beaulac (age 28) - 4 caps | Adept at stealing the ball off the toes of opponents, she reads the game well but her passing ability sometimes doesn't match her vision. "You can see what she was going for there" is often heard in this context.

Colm Ó Tuathail [captain] M L, Ulsa [EUR], b. Colwyn, Noua Cymru (age 33) - 145 caps, 23 goals | Made history as Kelssek's first-ever "Galactico", was allegedly the second-best left winger in the world in a season that saw him become a regular feature of the first 11 on one of Audioslavia's top clubs. A goalscoring threat who also has the acceleration and dribbling skill to give defences the literal run-around. With Shamrock Cathair, won one Audioslavian title and a couple of silver IFCF medals, recently added the Euraleague title to his collection.

Bryan Hartpoach AM LR, Strathcona Internationals, b. Vickery, Conryia (age 26) - 36 caps, 2 goals | Quick, elusive, and technically adept. May wander into the middle sometimes. Often deployed as a wrong-footed right wing for the national team.

Miles Mann RW, Workers Union [EUR], b. Outineau, Blc. (age 24) - 8 caps | Dynamic and determined. Big xHustle/90 numbers.

Matts Bogdanor M C, Carsby [EUR], b. East Fallowfield, Etnier (age 32) - 68 caps, 2 goals | No-nonsense holding midfielder who can surprise with a 30-yard banger every once in a while.

Amber Docherty M R, AC Olarria [ASG], b. Willsden Harbour, Haligonia (age 29) - 9 caps | Standard issue speedy winger with a decent cross. Coaches harp on her tendency to blindly drive passes across the box.

Pierre-Louis Laishram AM/FW, Coquitlam United, b. Pont d'Or, Beaulac (age 31) - 3 caps | Determined, volatile, and ambitious, he moved abroad after burning some bridges at Océanic, the club he'd come up through the youth ranks with, after publically slamming the club for underperforming. A creative passer with excellent touch.

Loïc Maçon-Petrault [vice-captain] ST, Directus [EUR], b. Saint-Rémy, BL (age 30) - 86 caps, 28 goals | An elusive and quick striker and noted jazz fan. A skilled forward who is able to dribble past his marker and paint the corners of the goal with the ball. Often looked to as the guy to get the team goals to dig out of any holes they've dug for themselves.

Shaheen Taleb AM C/ST, Aries Chariots [NPH], b. Mineru, Konoha (age 33) - 132 caps, 45 goals | Deep-lying forward with a knack for a flick-on or a clever pass, yet also a canny shooter. Can freeze the defence with his excellent close control and is a highly composed finisher.

Thor Ibrahim Ahmad AM/F RC, Directus [EUR], b. Outineau, Beaulac (age 28) - 36 caps, 10 goals | Bags of ability but somewhat held back by having LMP on the same team for both club and country. A big-occasion player with a knack for scoring crucial goals. Once scored half the goals for CF Les Castors as they finished last in the Kelssek league.

Danielle Maradrogba ST, Coret Hawks [NPH], b. Outineau, BL (age 27) - 28 caps, 7 goals | Power and placement is what you get when she gets an inch of space. An exciting, highly touted talent produced from the underdog hero Association Ariddienne club.

Seamus Wylten ST, Hondo FC [VAL], b. Brandon, Etn. (age 31) - 71 caps, 31 goals | The poacher's poacher. An instinctive and deadly finisher with a great sense of positioning.

Eva Karven ST, Ulsa Rovers [EUR], b. Kirkenes, NC (age 30) - 20 caps, 5 goals | Stormed onto the scene in the KFL Championship as the leading scorer for Kirkenes in her rookie season. A confidence player who can be inconsistent.

Roman Torshen ST, Norrion Rovers [EFL], b. Mistigwyn, NC (age 28) - 34 caps, 5 goals | Likes to sneak into the box as a late-arriving second wave attacker, he's also got a wicked shot from his right foot and likes to power them in. Middling movement and pace, relies on his bag of tricks to get past defenders.

Manager: Jorge Guardia | Apox-born Guardia managed Oldem Mechanical, Exton F.C, Issington F.C and Azewyn Royals before he came to Kelssek and managed CS St-Rémy for eight years, winning the KFL62 and 63 league titles, the "deux glorieuses" for the club, but declining performances eventually saw him given the boot in rather controversial circumstances.

Direct free-kicks: Bryan Hartpoach, Gabriel Lapierre, Thor Ibrahim Ahmad
Corners: Colm Ó Tuathail, Bryan Hartpoach, Nacuémiró Buené

Fan culture
Kelssek's national teams are nicknamed the Voyagers in reference to the fact that major international tournaments are practically always in a different region and many time zones away (unless Kelssek is hosting it, of course).
Maybe Tomorrow is common to all national teams:
Voyagers, they keep on calling me
Down the road, that's where I'll always be
Onward Kelssek, the shout from everyone
Step by step, fighting on, till glory's won
Maybe tomorrow, our journey will be done
Until tomorrow, we'll just keep movin' on

Tune: "Maybe Tomorrow" (Littlest Hobo theme song)

Summer of 46 is sport-specific, and references the hosting of World Cup 46, the watershed in soccer actually becoming popular in Kelssek.
Got my first real football
Played it on a plastic pitch
Rubber pellets went everywhere
It was the cycle of forty-six
Oh when I look back now
Thought that it would last forever
Those were the football glory days

Tune: Summer of '69

Stadiums
Qualifying matches will rotate between three stadiums. You may choose which one if you are the first to RP the match. If you're not bothered to pick, go with Kirkenes as a default.

Exhibition Place, Kirkenes (cap. 38,600)
Kirkenes is the biggest city in Kelssek, a huge and bustling multicultural metropolis. The city's character comes through in neighbourhoods like Little Ariddia, Bathurst Gardens, and Lancaster Hill. Fashionable boutiques and other opportunities for bourgeois consumerism are located in the Rosewood area. The 540-metre Panopti Tower is an iconic landmark, the St. Jude Market is a good stop for fine foods or a quick meal, Melbourne Square and Caron Street are where to go out, and the Museum of Global Civilization is pretty cool to learn about history and cultures and stuff. The Loyalist Fort National Historic Site is where the enemies of the revolution holed themselves up. The city also has a lively microbrewery scene. See also the street map, and the TComm Subway.
Griffin Park, Novonaya (cap. 44,000)
Macquarie Docklands, Latrobe (cap. 55,700)

Aminey, Aminey - Stade sur la Baie (70000) - home to Aminey CS (and the Aminey Caspians, Aminey Buffaloes, and Aminey Owls).
The flagship stadium, huge production values, the works.

Schemerdrecht, Intermare - Orange Bowl (54000) - home to Schemerdrecht SVV (and the Schemerdrecht Admirals).
More associated perhaps with the Admirals than the SVV, but it's nearly always sold out venue for great crowds in any sport.

Maethoru, KCT - Rikalathen Arena (39000) - home to Maethoru SC (and Mayara Wanderers-Vulpecula).
Close to the KFA's training grounds, at least it has that going for it. Crowds aren't great here.

Étouille, Cote Austral - Stade Amandine (30000) - home to Tanques AOE (and the Etouille Vultures).
Some amazing drone shots over a stadium, a city, and a crowd that knows what makes life fun.

Santa Teresa, Finisterre - Estádio Fortaleza (29000) - home to Miradela GD (and the Santa Teresa Sabres).
Made to be exactly 1000 seats larger than their rivals' stadium, the Fortaleza is the upper-class stadium.
OR
Santa Teresa, Finisterre - Estádio Marítimo (28000) - home to Branvon CD.
The working class stadium that is, in all facets, a bit inferior to the Fortaleza. Except the crowds. There's no better stadium for wild crowds.

Maynard, Leeshire - Armskirk Municipal Ground (26000) - home to Maynard AFC.
The unlucky Maynard team have asked the KFA to have their stadium used by the national team - as the only southwestern stadium.

Katashi, Katashi - Suzumebachi Stadium (25000) - home to Katashi-Kanatsu.
The biggest stadium in the east, Katashi deserves a game. The fans will mostly just cheer for the Yoshiman players, though.

Greencaster, Surbourneshire - Golhampton Grounds (25000) - home to lower league Langward.
Greencaster is our largest city and... that's their only claim to a Dragonflies home game.

Aevanna, Aerellen - Northern Arena (32000) - home to university team 'Aevanna Ecologiske Universitet'.
The KFA wants some games geographically spread across the country, and so the cold, dark, and cold gridiron Northern Arena is on the list.

1 GK Edou Bittencourt (KOR, 28) - Miradela GD, a martyr, strong, playmaker
10 GK Barre Goossen (KOR, 35) - Schemerdrecht SVV, a brave, trim, technician
20 GK Carl Malmstroom (KOR, 26) - Tanques AOE, a fanatical, compact, debater

After Theshendan, it's not been immediately clear who should follow in his giant footsteps. A few cycles of trials, but it seems that Bittencourt has won the battle long-term. Doolan is too old as well, Goossen and Neihof couldn't impress. Bittencourt is capable of playing his role in the passing game - another indication of the slightly more possession-based future of the Dragonflies. Basically, we're unlikely to get a GK the caliber of Theshendan again, Bittencourt is well beyond the rest, and we have around 5-6 choices for backup goalies, and their styles decide which ones we should call up. Goossen is a better man on the line (penalties, anyone), while Malmstroom is better at positioning his defenders.

Image
2 RF Hikomoto Mizuno (KOR, 31) - Tempala United Saints, DAR a mischievous, hard-hitting, cheater
12 RF Kaneyoshi Kaji (KOR, 18) - Katashi-Kanatsu a dense, petite, mercenary
3 RB Minne van Schelven (KOR, 32) - Lhor, CMT a serious, athletic, professional
13 RB Ethan Benjamin (KOR, 34) - Ousevale Borough, KRY a good, bulky, communicator
4 CB Jubenar Mallerbury (KOR, 27) - Zilverstraat SC, TSA a evil, agile, dynamo
14 CB Egesa Aedil (KOR, 18) - Tanques AOE a polite, muscular, wall
5 LB Harmon Mulvahil (KOR, 26) - Osarese Marcadia, AUD a good, staunch, aggressor
15 LB Marc Hoevink (KOR, 27) - Straudum VV a soft, instinctive, gladiator
6 LF Emi (f) van Kalvenhaar (KOR, 27) - Maethoru SC a active, bulky, all-rounder
16 LF Pette Grootenhuis (KOR, 33) - IFK Liverpool United, DAR a intelligent, slim, aggressor

A mix of ages, styles, and skill levels. Mizuno, Van Schelven, Benjamin, and Grootenhuis represent the old WC87 ceiling-smashing generation, with Mizuno still making a good move at his age to a good Darmeni club, while Van Schelven left Audioslavia for Chromatika - not at all a step down in the IFCF rankings - and Benjamin is still a household name in the O-League. All three of them are legends in their own right and hall of fame material. Grootenhuis' star never burned as bright but he's a tremendous role player who understands the system.
Mallerbury, Van Kalvenhaar, and Mulvahil are the current in-prime group, and all at least as talented as that legendary trio, with the added bonus that Mallerbury can be that player who brings the ball out of the defence to the midfield with his unending stamina, and Mulvahil has that aggression that players of the previous generation often lacked (outside of Lampshire, but there's a reason he's the NT leader in red cards, even with not getting called up for... social reasons for a good chunk of his career). Van Kalvenhaar has been appearing opposite Mizuno for ages now and she's only getting better. Hoevink is very talented but more of a system player than an individual with a little oomph.

Then there's Kaji and Aedil, playing positions that we're a little short on backups for. Are they the best of their generation? Maybe not, seeing Lavaud and especially Gillinghurst, but they're on the squad anyway.

Image
7 DM Jolgurasaun Dhentingun (KOR, 28) - Mercia Bromham, KRY a helpful, bulky, box-to-box player
8 RM Mata Vaugrenard (KOR, 35) - Maethoru SC a impressionable, agile, journeyman
17 RM Ciriaco Laza (KOR, 18) - Miradela GD a cruel, compact, showman
9 CM Purelbusak Entatingun (KOR, 21) - Maethoru SC a noncompetitive, heavy, mercenary
18 CM Timothy Parsons (KOR, 27) - Straudum VV a loyal, fast, opportunist
X LM Parala Abbagan (KOR, 29) - Kingsgrove, BRE a evil, stringy, ball winner
19 AM Maximilien Longchambon (KOR, 33) - Revolutionaries, EUR a hostile, slim, teammate
1X AM Authusa Aoriene (KOR, 28) - Maethoru SC a emotional, powerful, clown

The midfield - now four players instead of three - has an improved role in keeping possession, shielding the defence, and setting up the striker for easy tap-ins. This can be either a DM-LM-RM-AM diamond (replace any of those positions for a CM if necessary), or a DM-CM defensive block with a CM-AM attacking block (again, replace any of those positions with a LM or RM if necessary). Basically, we're very flexible with the positions and the players that have to fill the roles. Dhentingun is so far living up to the hole Yokota left behind ages ago, and it seems that we finally have a DM again. Vaugrenard and Longchambon, long the most talented attacking players on the archipelago, are past their primes now but at least Longchambon is still the crown prince of the national team - though at his age, we're probably fine to call him the king. Add Janoreirinthen (not selected, 35 years old) on the left side and there's your 3-man midfield of the late 80s. Entatingun is now the main man on the midfield, not as capable defensively but a pinpoint passer who can't be dispossessed. Abbagan and Parsons might not get huge roles - but if either Vaugrenard or Longchambon have to take an old man day off, they are ready. Aoriene hasn't been called up often, but has worked his way up through 2nd tier Couziers-Olympiques to promoting Arboren FC to the monarchs of the domestic scene, Maethoru SC to be recognised as one of the least predictable and therefore genius chance creators in the country.

Image
1= SS Hurorinul Bonstirthinden (KOR, 25) - Miradela GD a inhibited, gigantic, glass cannon
21 ST Dornared yOraenaig (KOR, 18) - Sydberg Olympia a reserved, burly, artist
22 ST Hannibal Sawyer (KOR, 24) - Straudum VV a intellectual, instinctive, target man
= ST Rex Archer (KOR, 25) - Aminey CS a relaxed, lanky, cheater

No position is as uncertain as Dragonfly striker. You have to be good and you must have scored a lot of goals recently to show you're on form, while also being the exact kind of player that the midfield sets up. Archer was the target man for a while but it seems we have a new challenger: yOraenaig, playing for recently promoted Sydberg Olympia, who is as creative a finisher as he is strong on the ball. Archer might still see a lot of playing time, but will have to share with pinch hitter Sawyer. Bonstirthinden is also a set-up guy who will effectively make the formation a 5-5-0, so will be used sparingly - but he can get goals from a distance and do some nice overlaps and passes in behind to set up other midfielders to score. He'll come on when we need that kind of attack, or if we need to retain the ball.

Image
We play post-football, a term coined during World Cup 89 to put words to a horrible semifinal between Audioslavia and the Dragonflies, which ended 0-0 after 120 minutes, then all but one penalty was scored in the ensuing series. Post-football means no singing. No cheering. No scoring. Post-football is sideways passes, looking like the same, repetitive movements for minutes on end, but with tiny variations that at some point will get to you. It could be a counterattack, or a shot from distance, or a set piece. Post-football doesn't care if it takes 90 or 120 minutes, or more.

This team is all about containing their opponent, letting them make mistakes, and capitalising on those. Let the other guys get impatient, lose the ball, and immediately go for the counter attack. Yes, it's frustrating to play against, but you have to admit that there's a certain beauty to doing this near-flawlessly every single time. The Dragonflies aren't a very physical team, but can match almost every opponent in stamina (not so much power or speed, though. Typically only the wingers are pacy). Instead, they rely on tactics and patience. The team is also good enough to be in possession a lot and dictate the tempo, though they're not always creative enough to break down the opposing defence - for that, the Dragonflies have learned to be very, very good on counterattacks, set pieces, and a few patterns in open play. Given the experience most of these players have, it's hard to come up with something new they've never seen - and then do that well enough to reliably score. In order to beat us, you'll need to bring two (or more) of the following: power, speed, caution.

Basically, this team comes prepared, is patient, and keeps a cool head.

Image
Numbers 1 to = typically start (but not always, feel free to choose your starters). That's 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, X, and =.
Numbers 1-1= are typically selected as starters or subs (but not always, feel free to select some 23+-ers as subs or starters).
Numbers 20 and over are mostly there as emergency replacements, but can be part of the squad for some games. These are almost always younger players with a lot of promise.

Image
The standard for this team. Five defenders, a defensive midfielder-slash-pivot, two wingers, an attacking midfielder-annex-second striker, and a pure finisher up front. In possession, one of the defenders can push up: this might be one of the fullbacks to provide width, but can also be one of the centrebacks, in which case the defensive midfielder makes way. The wingers will be wider or narrower based on the opposition, and the same determines how far the fullbacks will advance. In defence, the team becomes narrower, with the defensive midfielder playing spoiler to whoever is trying to find space between the Ko-orenite lines, and the wingers falling back to meet opposing fullbacks. The striker and attacking midfielder will almost always look for space to launch a counterattack.
Image
The alternate lineup, which still adheres to a basic 5-4-1. You could call it a 5-5-0, seeing as the striker is sitting back much further. This lineup works the exact same for the defenders, with or without possession. The defensive and central midfielder are pivots, the wingers have far more freedom to find space, and the striker drops back to receive the ball and allow other players to overlap, enabling them to score a goal rather than the striker themselves. In defence, the midfielders can organically shrink and expand their 'pentagram-five' formation much more fluidly.

Team

Playing in the following formation: GK | DL DC DC DR | MC MC MC | SC SC SC

The first player(s) named in each area of the team start the game. Our line-up will broadly be as follows (unless you RP one of our players has an injury or something):

GK: Softstep
DsL-R: Sandman, Willingham[/i], D'Entro[/i], Featherborn
MCs: Mikkels, Walker, Lewis
SCs: Builder, Clearedway, Gibson

Further information on the players is below if it is required and/or of interest.

Number, Name, Position, Age, Place of Birth, Club
All players male (He/Him) unless specified
Goalkeepers - 3

13 – Leora SOFTSTEP - GK – 21 – Cerrston, Juniper Island Image – Juniper Mournhow F.C. Image
She/Her
Leora's place of birth is noted as Cerrston, when in fact she was born on one of the ships carrying Bostopians to their new home in the Ochres. That it happened to dock in Cerrston, where her family settled, was just luck. Her parents chose a new surname after watching their child take her first furtitive steps outside, wanting to ditch their old Bostopian name. While there is some doubts over her ability to play as an international goalkeeper, her ability to read the game makes up for a lack of height (comparative to other top-flight goalkeepers at least) and fans joke that it seems she knows where the ball will go before the striker does.

1 - Louis WILSON - GK – 28 – Fort Boston Image – Cottsworth City Image

12 - Eric BIRDTENDER - GK – 20 – Nuntsby, Handsby Island Image – Bellflower A.U. Image
Birdtender is Bellflower A.U.'s current number two goalkeeper, but has impressed in cup games (which he regularly starts) enough to make the national side. His parents were fundamental in the study of native species in the Ochres, and his surname was later chosen to reflect this.

Defenders - 7
15 - Harry SANDMAN – DL – 18 – Slipsway, Chaffinch Island Image – Slipsway Town F.C. Image
The youngest member of the squad, only just turning 16 in time for the first qualifying game, Harry Sandman is the first player in any Ochre national squad to be born on Chaffinch Island. Adopting his surname from his love of running on the beach, he tends to be more of a sweeper than a proper centre half, being able to quickly take care of opponents passes into the box before they cause too much harm. His pace and stamina also allows him to play as a makeshift right wing-back, but his crosses come across as clearances more often than not.

4 – Jordan WILLINGHAM – DC – 28 – Bassingdale Image – Nuntsby City Image
2 - Louis D'ENTRO - DC – 21 – Bellflower, Mournhow Island Image – Cottsworth City Image
Louis was born in what was known then as 'New Ranton', which was the name of the capital of the Bostopian Ochre Islands prior to independence. He is one of the better players in Cottsworth's side, who are regular title contenders in the Ochre League Division One.

16 - Lucy FEATHERBORN- DR – 19 – City of Louisa, Hope Island Image – Schemerdrecht SVV Image
She/Her

Featherborn currently plies her trade at right-back for Schemerdrecht SVV, having left her hometown team Louisa Hope F.C. for the Ko-oren side. Complaints from journalists that she could have gone to a team 'easier to spell quickly' exist though are simply batted away as 'whinging'. Pacy and versatile, she is more likely to try and beat her opponent with the ball at her feet rather than pass around them. She already displays a range of passing that could see her propelled into the midfield, whether on the wing or in the middle should her development continue at the pace it is.

3 - Taylor BARRETT - DL – 30 – Norteaton Image – Lansdorn Image
5 - Leonard BURKE – DR – 33 – Glenrock - Image – Juniper Monnstair Image
6 – Arto NEWCOMER - DC – 24 – Lander's Port, Mournhow Island Image – Nottshore Turquoise F.C. Image
Arto Newcomer was born mere days after the first ships began arriving in the Ochre Islands from Bostopia. His parents immediately changed their – and his – family name on arrival in the islands, so his heritage beyond that is unknown. Arto, whilst young, is a regular feature in the back line of Nottshore Turquoise and integral to keeping them in the top division of Ochre football.

Midfielders - 8

11 - Joseph MIKKELS - MC – 24 – Hilltop Image – Lower Soffsley Image
14 - Carl WALKERCaptain - MC – 29 – Fort Boston Image – Lower Soffsley Image
8 - Harry LEWIS - MC – 23 – Port Flamerty Image – Nuntsby City Image
17 - Luke MATSON - MC – 28 – Jennaerton Image – Stangtons Image
18 - Bradley WATKINS - AMC – 31 – Rivdale Image – West Bellflower Image
15 - Mick BASING - DMC – 21 – Sennaton Image – Bellflower A.U. XI Image
20 - Pete READ - D/AMC – 29 – Flamerty Image – Cottsworth City Image

Strikers - 5
9 - Rory BUILDER - SC – 19 – Kollingdon, Handsby Island Image – Valesthorpe Image
Rory is the youngest of the Ochre-born players, having been born a mere day or two after his parents reached Kollingdon following their migration to the Ochres from Fenton State. Whilst still largely bench-warming for Valesthorpe, the national team can see his promise and are taking him to CAFA3 in the hopes of giving him international experience in low-pressure situations.

22 - Blue GIBSONVice-Captain - SC – 26 – Acorn Wood Image – Juniper Monnstair Image
She/Her
Blue Gibson is the first Bostopian-born female player to ever represent her country in an international football tournament. Whilst there have been female managers of the Bostopian national team, Blue was seen as a 'once-in-a-lifetime' footballing talent that the OIFA could find no reason, legally or otherwise, to exclude her from the national team. It was her second goal of the CAFA final which had sealed the Ochres 3 – 1 win over Saltstead with 3 minutes remaining of the 90. Blue also scored the winning goal to send the Ochre Islands to the World Cup finals for the first time.
7 - Copse CLEAREDWAY - SC – 21 – Callais, Jensee Island Image – Slipsway Town Image
Copse Clearedway was born in Callais, which is on one of the smaller Ochre Islands of Jensee. He is first-choice striker for Slipsway Town, a mid-table side in the first division of domestic Ochre football. However for the Ochre national team, he is more likely to be played in the hole between attack and midfielder to give us a significant threat just outside the area, as well as knowing where a striker would want a ball playing to them.

10 - George HOLLAND - SC – 32 – Rinstad Image – Flanminster Abbey Image
19 – Carl-James (C.J.) LUCKSMITH - SC – 19 – Hannston, Jensee Island Image – Lionsville Transport Sports Club Image
Despite playing for a smaller Ochre side, sitting in the 4th tier of the football league, C.J. has excelled and proven himself at a high level thanks to helpful cup draws against much better teams projecting his abilities on the national stage. While football at the lower levels is a bit more rough and ready than the higher divisions, he has always been able to hold his own against strong defenders despite his young age, and their willingness to let him know they're there.

Kits & Logo

Home, Away and Third

ImageImageImage

The Ochre Islands kits were designed and manufactured by OchreSport, with input from the Ochre Islands Football Association.
Following the abysmal CAFA3 campaign, the home kit removes all gold references and goes back to the traditional striped ochre and blue ochre scheme, with white trim.
The away kit is a contiuation of the popular 'Anaiaway' theme promoted by the OIFA, which they say 'promotes peace & harmony and reminds us that whilst we may be in an away kit, the Anaia region is still our home'.
The third kit is a colour combination of the two ochre colours, resulting in an earthy brown colour reminiscent of some of the home soil players and fans may tend to in their spare time.

Before CAFA 2, the Ochre Islands Football Association ran a competition to design the team's logo, which was won by a 34 year old man with neither design experience or taste. Fortunately, an update of the design to account for taste was commissioned and outsourced by the OIFA, which is as below. The badge prominently features a 'little mint green hat', which actually commerorates the Ochre Islands victory in the second CAFA tournament.

Image

The Ochre Islands play a possession-based style of football which aims to prevent the opposition from scoring by simply not letting them have the ball. While we will prefer safer passes, the players generally have a good sense of when a chance is 'on' and will play balls with added risk involved where necessary.
