Summary: It will all come down to the final day in this insane Conference - with five teams all in contention. It should be interesting to see who makes it out - with this tight conference.

Summary: The Mimes and the Riflemen have clinched spots in the Conference Playoffs. They can rest their starters, but as home field is on the line, they'll probably go for it. Anderson Joseph Jr. vs. Mark Waddle... It should be a Conference Title Game for the ages.

Summary: The Abominable Snowmen will be the heavy favorites to make it out, as the Rapiers have to handle the Anacondas, who just haven't slowed down scoring. It would be so interesting to see a team with negative Point Differential make it out, but the Abominable Snowmen have that ground pound game that can generate narrow wins. Otherwise, the Rapiers will beat the Anacondas and hope to beat them again.

City of Umbar High School vs. Umbar Hills High School

Summary: Umbar Hills leads Brisara Trade School by virtue of H2H PD; that means that the Businessmen will need to hope that the Grizzlies lose and they win to flip home field advantage. That being said, to see Rico Divalles against Ewan Pyrehamix will be fun to see what happens; the Grizzlies have been on a run in the second half of the season and show no sign of slowing down.

Summary: The Order and the Scorpions look ready to face each other - unless the Mystery beat the Scorpions by more than fifty-three. It's not likely, but a chance is a chance, right? Francine Weller has the Scorpions purring, while the Order haven't lost since Matchday Six. Shantarr vs. Shantarr... Just the way that the Breadbasket Conference is supposed to be.

Crix Arts Institute vs. Cheonju High School

Summary: The Condors are the only team to be eliminated, while the rest of the teams, all five of them, still have a shot. The Wizards would still be the favorites - though thtye have to face the Red Devils; a loss would knock either of them out. As for the Chameleons, the Flying Jellyfish will be a tougher challenge, while the Artisans have the Condors to worry about. Will Frank Wing be the hero, or San Corren? Jack Niles, perhaps? It should be an interesting final matchday.

Summary: With the Kayaks having defeated the Gradients in Head to Head Point Differential, the matchup between the Kayaks and the Cyclones will be a prelude for the Conference Championship game. East Rhoni will have to face them twice at Pride Academy; Lyla Pale will hope to hold down the play of Even Jerome, and the Kayaks will make life interesting.

Northern Calania Morning Post

Quebecois Sports continues to mourn the passing of Queen Mother Nathalie

Seo Ji-Seung

JOONGYEONG - A quiet thud continues to ring across the sky, as the sports organisations across Quebec and Shingoryeo have been paying tribute to the late Queen Mother Nathalie, who passed at age 92 this Thursday afternoon.

Normally loud and elated with the earlier rounds of playoffs, indoor arenas across Quebec and Shingoryeo were among the first to feel the solemnity, with the arenas turning off the amps for Thursday night's QBL and QOVO playoff matches, and Friday night's QHL and QWBL rounds.

Most played both the national and the royal anthems, but the arenas continued to remain silent across the night with the arenas across the country reflecting that of a cathedral than an actual sporting venue. The players wore a yellow and white patch on their jerseys and a minute of silence was held before the tip-off.

The joint decision by the Hockey Quebec, Basketball Quebec, and the Quebecois Organisation of Volleyball (QOVO) were made following the protocol from the Royal Sporting Council, the joint supervision board for all domestic sports leagues in the Anaian nation, the Ministry of Sports, 11 Gwangmoo Boulevard, and the Daemyeonggoong Palace.

Among the four leagues the QOVO were the first to make announce its decision, with the third-ranked volleyball league announcing that they will 'pay respect through continued play of its fixtures, but with measures of respect'. Likewise responses were followed by the three other leagues, who have expressed similar sentiments.

Dame Arlene Lafontaine, the Royal Quebecois Olympic Committee president, kept her remarks short as she said: 'We would like to extend our sympathies and condolences to Her Majesty Queen Christine II, and her family. The Queen Mother has served as the undoubted, exemplary figure for the nation in times when the nation has undergone particularly turbulent, transformative phases of history during her time as the leading statesperson of the country. Through example and service, she has led the country, and never lost command of it.'

Also following the news is the announcement from the Quebecois Baseball Federation (QBF), as the QBF officials announced on Friday morning that the Silver Leaf Classic (more commonly known as Eundanpoonggi), the fourth of five national high school championships held between late February and mid-June, will go ahead with its fixtures for the weekend. The quarterfinal matches, which will feature her alma mater, Erskine Collegiate of Kingston, will have a moment of silence before the start of the games.

The QBF Chairman, Philippe-Ian Morand, said: 'As the longtime patrons to the QBF, the royal family has held a special relationship with the national championships.

'In her memory, as a figure who would not have wanted the cancellation or postponement of the time-held traditions, we will be proceeding with the remaining rounds of the game, but will start half an hour later for the Championship Final this Monday, the day of her funeral.'

Highest level of professional competitions in outdoor team sports this time of the year did not deviate much. While the Quebecois Baseball Organisation (QBO) and the Q-League have no games scheduled for the four-day weekend, all RQFA and QBO clubs have and will continue to fly the flags at half mast until Monday.

The NationStates College Football (NSCF)'s two home games, to be held this Saturday night at Stade St. Croix in Joongyeong and Stade Schwartz in South Bend, will proceed with a minute of silence and performance of royal hymns by both universities' bands. The longtime NSCF Commissioner, Sir. Dexter Ahn, will be in attendance for both the Saguenay home game this Friday and the Funeral this Monday.

NSCF Commissioner Ahn said: 'Our thoughts and sympathies go out to Her Majesty the Queen and her family. As a parent and a grandparent of St. Croix alumni, and longtime patron of the Université St. Croix, Queen Mother's presence at the campus was something that was not always displayed, but no doubt remembered.

'That said, after lengthy discussions with members of the Committee, the Gwangmoo Boulevard and the Daemyeonggoong Palace, we have decided that the best form of paying tribute to her lengthy, well-lived life, is to play on. It's something that she would have wanted, and all we have consulted agreed as well. Appropriate measures will be paid to make sure we do not deviate from the expected days of mourning until the Funeral in Joongyeong this Monday.'

The Tricolour Taegeuk flag was flown to half-mast at the headquarters of the three international governing bodies based in Joongyeong - World Cup of Hockey Federation (WCoHF), NationStates College Football (NSCF), and International Volleyball Federation (IVF) - and the Quebecois Commonwealth Sporting Council (QCSC).

The players and coaching staff of the Tricolour Taegeuk, who are currently or will be representing Quebec and Shingoryeo in various world championships this summer, will also be wearing black armbands.

They include, but are not limited, to the national basketball team in the 35th International Basketball Championships (IBC) to be held in Twin Cities next month, and the national football team who will be playing in the World Cup to be held in Graintfjall and Farfadillis this June to July.

It is unlikely this extends to the 16th Summer Olympics to be held this August in Twin Cities and Prescott, Electrum, however, as the Royal Quebecois Olympic Committee (RQOC), while sharing extended statements of sympathies and condolences, has drawn a clear line on the matter.

'There will be no enforced mourning of the late Queen Mother, especially as that goes against the spirit of the Olympic Games.' answered an RQOC official. 'Daemyeongoong Palace has made it very clear that the late Queen Mother, a well-lived woman, would want her funeral to be kept short and not excessive, especially after the funeral.

'What is our job, especially with such little time we have, is to ensure that we ensure that the upcoming summer's Olympic Games will be successful.'

NSFB-CF: Damn, New Gesem Got Hands

Postby TJUN-ia » Tue Sep 20, 2022 11:01 am

After defending the honour of the MinDiv last week, both teams forgot that this week. At least, that was the feeling that many in the College Gridiron circles felt as Round 1 of our 4-team duel with the schools from New Gesem ended in a 0-2 sweep. It certainly didn't feel good and with UCBP going up to 5-0 and stretching their lead at the top of the MinDiv in the MinCon, what exactly happened to cause this rare "Double L"?

Let's start, as always, with the Trent State Feathercaps, who managed a 46-16 win over Bowerstone of Anthor before they made this trip to face the Alexandroupolis Redbirds at Redbird Stadium. Johnny Bridgeford understood that things were going to be tough here, playing against a 1-loss team on the road, but he also had hope that Jason Steels could try and keep this team dignified no matter what happened out there. He did certainly try his best, scoring 2 TDs via Peter Borosić and allowing Eleonora "Firefeet" Scafakou to go 2/2 on PATs but in the end, that wasn't going to be enough as Calvin Cotton had a day to remember. They managed 4 TDs today, 2 catches each by Seniors Damian Buchanan and Chris Shepard and while Clyde Head only made 3/4 on PATs, they did add on 2 FGs to make u the 33-14 final score. Curtis Decker was certainly happy, but Johnny Bridgeford was not.

Meanwhile, the Green City Royal Eagles were still feeling a buzz after their 38-6 demolition of Waterloo from the Canadian Dominion as they faced the Constantinople Binturongs at Ripper Stadium. Both Paul Abdullahi and Josh Wilkins were certainly up for the battle between two 3-1 schools, the custodial handshake pregame showed that for a fact, and the game both sides would play would certainly be one to remember - for right and for wrong. Moses Igbinoghene managed 4 TDs in this game, with Gilbert Nyamutsamba and Lucky Sithole-Sita both getting 2 catches and Glory Oparanozie managed 3/4 on PATs and a FG, but Bunama Diawara (who's from Banija) responded in kind with 4 TDs of his own, with Duane Pratt and Reed Olsen with 2 catches each while Cody Romero also made 3/4 on PATs and a FG. This uncanny 30-30 game would need to be decided in OT, with the Binturongs getting the ball first. Diawara would find Pratt in the endzone and with Romero making the PAT, it was all on Igbinoghene to try to at least keep the game alive. He certainly tried but was stopped short on 4th and 5 on the 15-yard line by a tough UC defence and just like that, the game ended 37-30. A tough one to take, but a great game all the same.

Lessons certainly need to be taken but with 8 games to go, there is still plenty of time to make things right. Now, both teams will face road tests against the other teams in the Boreal with TCU facing the Bowerstone Bobcats in Anthor while GCU heads to the Canadian Dominion to face the Waterloo Redcoats. Things weren't great this week, but both teams showed positives despite the losses. Let's hope that both can come back stronger next week...

"No QB, No Problem"- Despite Vavayavich injury, Blue Thunder go to Sarzonia and earn a tough road win, by a score of 13-9, at Woodstock University

Image
Loyola players celebrate their win over Woodstock University with their traveling fan base

WOODSTOCK, SARZONIA- "We aren't the first team to have to win a game with their backup QB- and we will certainly not be the last." Said Loyola's head coach, Dennis Zervos. Despite their star QB going down with their offense humming in the first quarter, despite playing on the road in a very hostile environment at Friedgen Stadium, and DESPITE playing against a Woodstock team that neither Banijan school has ever beaten (0-3 combined before today), the Blue Thunder rolled into Sarzonia and rolled out with a crucial prize- a victory. Their second road win of this young season, and their fourth win overall, came in more challenging fashion than any win prior.

The game started quite smoothly for the Banijan private school. They got the football to start the game, and through a good balance of runs and passes, they were able to methodically move the ball up the field. "One of the best things Vavayavich did today, was show her maturity." Said the head coach, Dennis Zervos. "She's young- but the way she was reading pre-snap, checking pass plays to run plays, not making things about herself- excellent. That's a team-oriented leader, right there." On the game's opening drive, which took more than 5 minutes off the clock, they got all the way down to the 6 yard line. On third and goal, Marcel Schlachter was open in the end zone for the game's opening score- but the South Newlandian simply dropped the pass.

A drop in the end zone, on third and goal, is always frustrating. Alas, Loyola's kicker was ready, and fairly quickly, it was 3-0. The Blue Thunder defense forced a three and out, but a booming punt pinned the Blue Thunder at their own 8 yard line. But a few good running plays from their RB by committee approach, brought them to the 27. After that? Big play hunting. Safety blitz, Faraba Condeh adjusted his route to a go route. Vavayavich saw this as the blitz was picked up, and stepped into her throw for a beautiful long ball down the left sideline. Condeh streaked underneath the ball, shed the CB trying to tackle him, and simply walked into the end zone for a 73 yard touchdown.

Just like that, this capacity crowd was quickly silenced. 10-0 to the Blue Thunder, and there was seemingly nothing the Climbers defense could do about it. Until the Blue Thunder's next drive, that is. Getting to around midfield at the end of the quarter, Vavayavich had a play where she rolled right to try and avoid pressure. But, not known for having the swiftest of feet, she could not. Woodstock's DE tracked her down and stripped her of the football, on a play where she rolled her ankle on the tackle. Changed the game completely- Woodstock recovered around midfield, and the Blue Thunder's QB, just like that, was done for the day.

Now, the Blue Thunder would put the game into the hands of backup QB, Bamba Sabaye. Did not go well in the fourth quarter- four possesions, four three and outs, four punts. Woodstock kicked a pair of long field goals, from 45 and 53 yards out, as Loyola's 10 point lead was whittled down to just four at halftime- 10 points to the Blue Thunder, and 6 for the home team. Then, Q3 came around- and things went from bad to worse for the grad transfer. Fifth drive of the day, after four three and outs- he sailed a throw to TE Russell Farmer(how you do that, I have no idea, considering his size), and he was picked off. The Climbers, getting the football in plus territory, thought they had a chance to take the lead.

They got down to the Loyola-Istria 17, for a 2nd and 1. End zone shot on a fade route, knocked away brilliantly by the CB1, Akhello Volson. 3rd and 1, WR reverse trying to get the misdirection, but the Blue Thunder defense stayed home. 4th and 1- instead of going for a field goal to make it a one point game, they went for it. "Hell, I would have gone for it in that situation- touchdowns win games, right?" Coach Zervos said, talking about it afterwards. But the Blue Thunder defense stepped up. A FB dive up the middle and DT Brian Bond, for a defense that had been playing brilliantly all day, made the stop.

Sabaye's 6th drive was another three and out. The grad transfer backup was having a rough day- 5 three & outs, as well as an interception- with the team not gaining even a single first down while he was in the game. But on drive #7, he was finally able to make something happen. A 30 yard post route to Russell Farmer, on a 3rd and 13, sparked the offense. Suddenly, Sabaye was able to hit receivers, they were able to break tackles, and Loyola got all the way inside the 10. A chance to bury the hosts? Sabaye had Russell Farmer streaking on a slant towards the end zone for what would have surely been an easy touchdown. However, the backup QB and star TE don't quite have the chemistry- Sabaye's throw was just split second late, as it was behind the Ranorian TE. That meant it was picked off in the back of the end zone, for a touchback.

Woodstock had a 5 minute drive after that turnover, which ended in 3 points. Suddenly, it was a one point contest, just 10-9. Crowd rocking, Loyola-Istria, with our backup QB, on our heels. "Look- the wins and losses count the same- there are no excuses here." Coach Zervos told reporters in the post game. "You think the committee will come back to the end of the season and say, oh shit, they missed their QB for three quarters if they lose? Or the OSPI standings will give us a pass? No, which is why we needed this victory." Another big play sparked their following drive- this time, a 27 yard screen pass to Manne Nordström, where the Blue Thunder eventually kicked a field goal.

13-9 to the Blue Thunder, just over 7 minutes to go. A 50 yard run on the first play from scrimmage immediately put Woodstock in field goal range. They had a 3rd and 3 from the ULI 24- however, Najee Isidora got into the backfield and brought down their QB for a HUGE 8 yard loss. 4th and 11, no choice but to kick a field goal for Woodstock. But things were a disaster. True freshman CB Ken Geode, who has pretty much only played special teams this year, came up huge. A fantastic jump off the edge, basically went around untouched for a diving block on the field goal, to keep the score at 13-9. And after the Blue Thunder punted, the defense answered the bell once more.

Woodstock drove down into the Blue Thunder red zone, with a chance to take the lead. However, a diving interception by another grad transfer, Kato Sentido, at the 7 yard line, killed the comeback dreams. Woodstock still had all three timeouts at this point, even though there was 1:01 on the clock. But the Blue Thunder running game won the contest. 12 yard run by Darrell "The Ball" Jackson. Then a 15 yard run by the same HB. And then, finally a 17 yard keeper by the QB himself, Sabaye. No need for kneeldowns- that was it.

"MAN, that was quite a contest." Said the head coach. "But this is what I love about this team- the poise, the grit. We never got rattled, we never once got phased. Interceptions? Didn't bring us down. QB injury? The defense stepped up to the plate. Blocking a kick. 4th down stop. Well-time interceptions. This was the dictionary definition of a team win, the type of win teams get when they are capable of pursuing the greatest goals of the sport. We've got the toughest and grittiest team in this damned competition, and this road win, against a high quality opponent- well, this road win proves it."

The Blue Thunder will stay on the road, flying to Venmere to take on the University of Alcuta Skyhawks, who are sitting at the bottom of the opposite division, at 1-4. That will be their final road game of this high mileage opening half, as after it, they will play their next three conference games at the Istria Lightning Yard. While it's too early to tell, Coach Zervos says there's a '60% chance' that Vavayavich returns for their week 6 contest.

Loyola-Istria WINS 13-9

NMU Brief- NMU gashes Joe Gibbs University for over 250 yards on the ground, as they earn high-scoring road win- 41-27

SARZONIA- While Loyola-Istria started the season with 4 of their first 6 games on the road, Northern Moravica started in the exact opposite way. This week 5 contest was the first time they hopped onto a plane all season, as they started the season with 3 home games and the in-country rivalry game. They flew across Atlantian Oceania to Sarzonia to take on Joe Gibbs University, who went into the contest in the lead for the Sequoia Division. "Yes, we're gonna have a series of flights, for a lot of road games that are back ended this season." Head Coach Lance Kabuye said. "But we don't fear those games- we know that we can play anybody, and always have a chance. That's Northern's mantra- anybody, anytime, anywhere." It is the correct mentality to have- this week 5 contest started the first of a brutal stretch for the Cougars, where 6 of their next 8 games are on the road. And the two at home? Crucial rivalry games- week 7 against Woodstock, and week 10 against Loyola-Istria, both of whom the Cougars have 2 game losing streaks against.

And in a game where there was plenty of scoring on both sides, that was a seemingly good mantra to stick to. It would be Joe Gibbs who would strike first, after they won the opening coin toss and asked for the football. They immediately marched down the field, doing whatever they wanted through the air, and simply put, at least on the opening drive of the game, the Cougars defense simply was not set to stop them. A 12 yard touchdown pass on a fade put the first points on the board, for the home team, in this contest. The Cougars, getting the football would keep a lot of the ball on the ground on the ensuing drive. Mixing up with Amira Kong and Jebel Marenah, sprinkling in a WR reverse to the speedy Jannik Nadine. Set up a perfect play-action on first and goal, and over 6 minutes later, backup TE Lutalo Ssenkaaba walked into the end zone untouched. 7-7.

Then Joe Gibbs University got a few first downs of their own, and it really looked as if the game had the makings of a shootout. But on the final play of the quarter, Malcolm Shelvin made a fantastic play. Jumping a curl route, the free safety intercepted the Joe Gibbs passed, and returned the ball 20 yards, down to the Joe Gibbs 37 yard line. And just a couple of plays later, on a 3rd and 7, the Cougars made them pay, as a double move by Jannik Nadine left his defender in the dust, and Felix Ström simply lofted the ball in front of him, as Nadine had a diving catch in the end zone. Touchdown, Cougars- their first lead of the contest, 14-10.

Both teams would each hit another field goal in the second quarter, making it 17-10 with under a minute to play in the half. But that was when the Cougars defense, once again, stood up and demanded that they be counted. Josiah Michaels had a fantastic bull rush to sack the Joe Gibbs QB and force a fumble, which was recovered by the NMU DT. All they needed was 12 more yards on a crossing route to WR Tyler Geese, which they got. And on the final play of the half, star kicker(and team captain!) Dwayne Markseon drilled a 54 yard field goal as time expired. At halftime, the Cougars had doubled the score of their hosts- Northern Moravica led, 20-10.

But that surely wasn't it in this contest, not by a long shot. With under 7 minutes left in the quarter, the Joe Gibbs special teams units came out to play. After a wobbly punt, the first man gunner missed, and suddenly, their punt returner was off to the races. 71 yards later, he was in the end zone, and this 10 point game was suddenly a 3 point game- with all the momentum towards the hosts. But that's when the Cougars decided they were going to pound the rock themselves. Mixtures of both running backs, and while even Randy Fitzroy had a 13 yard carry of his own. On a 3rd and 1 from the 7, Chromatik HB Amira Kong bowled over the Cyclones safety for a 7 yard touchdown run, as the lead expanded back to 10.

The fourth quarter, then, was decided by the big play. A 64 yard touchdown pass by Joe Gibbs would make it a three point game, once again. And then, on a second and short just a few minutes later, Jebel Marenah would spring one big for the Cougars, having a 64 yard touchdown run himself. With 10 minutes left in regulation, that huge TD run had brought the Northern Moravica lead back to 10 points- 34-24. Joe Gibbs started driving down the field after that, as both defenses seemed pretty gassed. But the Cougars defense would make one more huge play. Joe Gibbs had driven into the red zone, and had a 3rd and 2 from the Cougars 17. But the defense would come up big on third and short, as in the open field, Zelotes Aero made a fantastic one v. one tackle, to force fourth down. The hosts had to kick a field goal, but it was a big stop. 34-27 Northern Moravica.

And then the ground game, already rolling for the Cougars, was ready to put this one away. Sparked by a 47 yard run by Amira Kong, the Cougars never went into the air during the entire drive, as it ended in a 12 yard touchdown run by Jebel Marenah. That made it 41-27 to the Cougars with just over 3 minutes to go- and that was how the score ended. The game ended, of course, with Felix Ström in the victory formation.

"Look, 6 road games in 8 weeks- this was a fantastic start to the stretch for this team." Said the head coach, Lance Kabuye. "Who doesn't love smashmouth football such as this? We ran for 267 yards on the ground, as a team. We had two 100 yard rushers- Marenah and Amira Kong. On the offensive side of the football, we simply controlled the line of scrimmage, and wore the Cyclones down. That's exactly the type of rushing performance I want to see, week in and week out. There's no such thing as an easy road win in this competition, in this conference- these are things to be treasured."

They will stay on the road, as it'll be a battle of two Celestia division leaders next week- Northern Moravica, who are 4-1 and tied for the Savannah Division lead with their archrivals Loyola-Istria(also 4-1), will travel to St. Kanye to take on Upper Westside University, who are one game ahead of the competition in the Sequoia division at 3-2. The contest is a tossup to predict, although Upper Westside open up as slim, 1.5 point favorites. Another road win in this contest for NMU would be huge- not only would they be able to keep pace with Loyola(who are heavily favored in their week 6 game in Venmere), but the more road wins you collect against winning teams, the better it can be for your OSPI.

Banijan NSCF Betting Lines for Week 12.
Guide
If a team is +(aka Banija +4 against Ranoria), then they are the underdog.
If a team minus(aka Ranoria -4 against Banija) they are the favorite.
If a line is listed as +/- (aka Cold Hill scoring +/- 8.5 points) then that is the line you can bet the over/under. In example, at that, you could bet that Cold Hill will score more than 8.5 points, or less than 8.5 points.
Negative odds mean you need to bet a higher risk than a return. Aka, a -110 line means you need to bet $110 to win $100, -420 line means you need to bet $420 to win $100
Positive odds mean that you have a higher return than risk. Aka, a +110 line means you can win $110 if you beat $100, +420 line means you can win $420 if you bet $100.

QB gambit pays off as Honey Badgers secure 33-30 win in return to Celebration Field

Image
Willie Gordon dazzled in his debut, leading a revitalized Honey Badger offense to a season-high 33 points en route to a Week 5 victory.

The return to Celebration Field was a joyous one, as the Honey Badgers, behind a stellar performance from QB Willie Gordon, notched their season-high in points in a 33-30 victory over Kohnhead City. The move had been anticipated for some time following Hankow State's poor offensive performance against Cold Hill in Week 4, leading for many to clamor for QB Shane Wolf's benching in favor of letting Willie Gordon take snaps. Ultimately, the move proved successful, as Gordon would pass for 3 touchdowns and run it in for 1 more, showing off a potential dual-threat to his play and opening up the Honey Badger offense. "That's the kind of gutsy performance you want to see when you make a move of this magnitude," head coach Lee Chapman said. "He stepped up when it mattered most, and now we're right back on track to contend for a conference championship."

Indeed, the focus for the Honey Badgers seems to be increasingly on a potential Horizon Conference championship game. The Honey Badgers were the only team in the Evermore division to notch a win over the Everless division, increasing their lead in the division to 2 games as we reach the halfway point of interdivisional play. With Summit University having not played conference leader Cold Hill yet, there may still be an opportunity for the Honey Badgers to extend the lead further prior to the second slate of divisional games. "We've done all the right things so far," RB Mark Dyer said. "When we needed to run the ball early on, we got it done. Now we're passing more, and we're getting that done too. Cold Hill feels like just a little hiccup and maybe even some motivation for us as we get ready for the second half of the season, but right now, our eyes are on the prize, and that's gonna start with taking care of business over these next few weeks."

What was once a vaunted defense has not been as fruitful over the last two games, surrendering 70 points over the last 2 games while only giving up 27 in the first 3 games. "Part of that is simply a natural consequence of playing better teams and matching up against tougher offenses, so on one hand, it's not a huge surprise," said defensive coordinator Caleb Franks. "But on the other hand, we're gonna have to tighten it up again on the defensive end against those tougher teams if we want to compete beyond conference play. We've got a lot of film to dissect from these last two weeks, and it's really been a big learning experience for a lot of the guys. Ultimately, these guys want it bad, and I think they'll do what they need to do to make that happen."

(Time remaining in quarter in parentheses.)

1st Quarter:
(9:46) Willie Gordon 37 yard pass to Leon Wyatt for a TOUCHDOWN. PAT MISSED. 6-0, HSU leads.
(6:11) Olly Bloom 46 field goal is GOOD. 6-3, HSU leads.
(2:39) Lewis Love 29 yard field goal is GOOD. 9-3, HSU leads.

2nd Quarter:
(10:01) Willie Gordon 14 yard pass to Leslie Mueller for a TOUCHDOWN. 16-3, HSU leads.
(6:40) Emilee Johansson 7 yard pass to Blitz Taurus for a TOUCHDOWN. 16-10, HSU leads.
(0:00) Lewis Love 51 yard field goal is GOOD. 19-10, HSU leads.

3rd Quarter:
(11:46) Luis Beil 27 yard run for a TOUCHDOWN. 19-17, HSU leads.
(7:11) Willie Gordon 19 yard scramble for a TOUCHDOWN. 26-17, HSU leads.
(5:05) Olly Bloom 39 yard field goal is GOOD. 26-20, HSU leads.

4th Quarter:
(14:17) Olly Bloom 53 yard field goal is GOOD. 26-23, HSU leads.
(9:03) Willie Gordon 58 yard pass to Leon Wyatt for a TOUCHDOWN. 33-23, HSU leads.
(1:31) Emilee Johansson 5 yard pass to Luis Beil for a TOUCHDOWN. 33-30, HSU leads.

And now for a look around the league (OOC: Some Week 6 results have been released at the time of publishing. These are not accounted for in these rankings and will be factored into the next edition.):

1: Cold Hill University (5-0, last week: 1)
Another opponent gunned down. Cold Hill is likely going to be #1 at this rate until dethroned, and they figure to be able to coast through the rest of interdivsional play. They'll be given plenty of time to fine tune the roster before reentering divisional play with the hope of locking up a conference championship game berth.

2: University of the Commonwealth of Baker Park (5-0, last week: 2)
We know the offense is elite as U of CBP put up 43 on the road this past week. But what about that defense? They've surrendered a little over 25 PPG thus far, sparking some concerns over their ability to hang on to leads against stiffer competition down the road. But for now, they're still one of only two unbeaten teams, and until otherwise proven, it will likely stay this way.

3: Felswyr State University (4-1, last week: 3)
A close win, but we'll afford some grace for the road atmosphere + the dominant offensive showing. In a conference where defense is virtually unheard of (all teams have allowed at least 100 points thus far), the Felswyr offense is the best of the bunch, though they're locked in a close race with Staramara Tech for the division crown. If both win out, the Week 10 rematch of the two schools will be must-see football.

4: Richardson University (4-1, last week: 4)
A nice shutout win on the road over an inferior Panem team will see Richardson hold position for now. Richardson will have their toughest portion of the interdivision schedule to come next week, as they travel to Evermore division leader Hankow State. If they take care of business there, they will certainly be in a position to duke it out with Cold Hill for the Everless division crown.

5: Staramara Tech University (4-1, last week: 5)
A wire-to-wire road victory for Staramara, albeit against the weakest team in the conference. They've taken care of business up to this point, and if they continue to do so, a conference championship game is certainly on the table for them.

6: Northern Moravica University (4-1, last week: 7)
Alright, we'll bite. Yes, they lost to Loyola...but the game was a close road contest. Since then, Northern Moravica has had a slightly better scoring offense and defense, and they've mostly handled business otherwise. Will we look foolish for doing so? We'll see how the rematch goes.

7: University of Loyola-Istria (4-1, last week: 6)
We went back and forth on this one, but ultimately, an unconvincing 13-9 road win over a middling Woodstock team does not inspire confidence at the moment. This was one of the highest-flying offenses, and they seemed to be brought to a halt this past week. Perhaps we should really be labelling these two teams as 6a and 6b rather than 6 and 7, but the situation here is worth watching.

8: Constantinople University (4-1, last week: UR)
We've been sleeping on this team to be quite honest, but after they beat last week's Next Up, they have our attention. This is a stout defense, allowing the fewest points in the Mineral Conference to date (and the only team to not surrender at least 100 points yet). While Alexandroupolis took the head to head, they had home field while only winning by 3, and Constantinople has been the much more convincing team apart from that matchup thus far. They have the slight edge for now, but that said...

9: University of Alexandroupolis (4-1, last week: UR)
We're showing some love to the Boreal division this week, as the two leaders both come back to back in our rankings this week. As we mentioned, Alexandroupolis has head to head, but they dropped an interdivision game, reopening the door for Constantinople to potentially come back in. We're certainly interested in watching this race as it unfolds.

10: Hankow State University (4-1, last week: UR)
Alright, we're finally ready to rank this team. They're the last remaining 4-1 or better team that we haven't put in these rankings, so it's natural that we include them now. Offensive concerns plagued this team early on, but the change in quarterback may spell greener pastures on that side of the football. Conversely, the defense has slipped a bit in recent weeks, so we'll see how the team continues to adapt as the season progresses.

With regards to Saguenay and Mancodas, what is going on in the Zephyr conference? There is no obvious leader, and the conference seems bent on cannibalizing itself rather than offering up a clear leader. For now, both teams have dropped out of our rankings following their losses.

Next Up: Cavsar University (3-2)

With the win, the Honey Badgers now open up a commanding two game lead over the Evermore division, pinning them as heavy favorites to win the division and make the conference championship during the program's first year under its new banner. "It's an exciting time," QB Willie Gordon said. "I don't know if we expected to be here before the season, but here we are. We want to show out for the fans and get them this division title in our first year, so we need to make sure that we don't take our position for granted and just keep playing winning football."

The Honey Badgers have a difficult home test, as they take on #4 Richardson in a matchup that could prove to test the mettle of the new offensive scheme. Richardson has allowed only 43 point to this point, a trend the Honey Badgers will have to buck if they want to win. The defense will also certainly be looking to recapture some of the magic from its early success, especially against a team that has struggled to put up points and has relied more on their defensive success to get to this point. There will certainly be no shortage of excitement surrounding the game, and fans will hope to see the Honey Badgers come out empowered from their recent victory.

Warriors to face road challenge in Constantinople
by Teresa Bramlage, College Football Writer

The University of the Commonwealth outlasted Bowerstone University to move to 5-0 on the season as the Mineral Conference slate reaches the halfway point.

It took a fourth quarter rally from the Warriors to overcome the hosts, who led 35-27 with 6:41 left after Neal Antonelli's third touchdown pass brought UC to within 8, but Landon Korman missed the extra point. Bowerstone drove to the UC 47 before David Greenwood's sack & fumble recovery gave the ball back, with Antonelli finding Andre Holman for 36 yards on the first play, then closed out the drive with a four yard keeper; Ryan Benton chose to go for two and Will Garfield swept around left end to tie the score at 35 with 3:17 remaining.

The Warriors forced a punt after Bowerstone picked up just one first down, taking over at their own 31 with 1:36 to go. Antonelli found Raymond Darrien for 12, Holman for 9 and Garfield picked up another 7 to the Bowerstone 41; following an incompletion and an Antonelli scramble to the 39, the QB hit a wide open Bonaventure Igueikibe across the middle and the sophomore got his fourth score of the season, which was also Antonelli's fourth TD pass and fifth overall of the game. With :32 left, Benton again chose to go for two and Antonelli found Darrien in the back of the endzone to close out game.

UC now travel to face a 4-1 Binturong team that has only lost to Alexanderoupolis thus far. Benton knows that his side cannot fall behind like they did last time out. "We're getting into the meat of the schedule now, and we can't afford to play sloppy and give away points to them. It's going to come down to us executing and getting a better effort from the defense."

When It Rains It Pours: Governors Get Eggs Out Of Two Straight Challengers, First Home Shutout of Harrowitz Era

Image
The defense celebrates a Totte Lindberg red zone interception against Panem. Richardson University has allowed 6 points in their last 3 home games, including two shutouts

With no disrespect to the legendary Richard Steinheil, the move to have Kasen Harrowitz take on the head coaching mantle was the right one.

Every team in college football has a few of the same goals. One of the big ones is to defend your home turf. Win at home. Now going 12-1 in your first season helps, but Kasen Harrowitz has been absolutely astounding on that front. Not only are they 8-0 through 8 home stands in his tenure (aside from that brutal first round playoff loss that we absolutely will never reference again), they've only had one team come closer than a 14 point differential, and that was a weird game against a god-awful University of Lekenik team. No hate to the guys, but they just weren't a good football team in NSCF 26, so coming within a point of ruining Richardson's perfect Big 8 record? Insanity.

NSCF 26
MD2: 40–13 Swisston City University
MD4: 34–10 Richmond University (STR)
MD6 35–34 University of Lekenik (DOT)
MD8: 39–9 Kohnhead City University (KHD)
MD10: 37–23 Cold Hill University (RAN)

NSCF 27:
MD1: 40–24 Swisston City University (KHD)
MD2: 23–6 Kohnhead City University (KHD)
MD4: 10–0 Summit University (HAR)

So getting his first shutout at home, no less against a team that aside from that Richardson game is 2-2 and scoring at a nice clip of 23.5 per contest, has to feel good. And by the way, with two straight shutout performances now, this is the best defense in the NSCF. Hell, besides the aforementioned Summit University, who've allowed just 61 so far, there isn't a team that's allowed less than double that of the Governors. Despite losing a defensive player of the year in Gideon Kearse, Kasen Harrowitz has somehow gotten his defense even better - they're allowing fewer than 9 points per game.

They'll be tested, though, by a Hankow State team that's found a spark behind their new starting quarterback. Willie Gordon scored 4 touchdowns in relief of Shane Wolf, notching the Evermore Division's first win over the Everless in a 33-30 stunning of the two-time semifinalist KCU Mighty Eagles and Rowenna Hastroff.

With a completely new feel on offense behind a signal caller who looks to be a huge upgrade, this team's moved on from a blowout loss against Cold Hill - where Benoit Youngblood hung 40 on what had been the best defense in the game. But it's easy to forget behind all of our defensive talent that Richardon's fielding a young quarterback who's been turning heads.

Isaiah Hunter wasn't projected to win the starting quarterback job over a veteran in Benny Flowers, but from the moment he showed up to camp, he was in control. Hunter reportedly had a strong grasp of the playbook prior to ever entering the facility, and while he's soft-spoken and bookish, his arm talent was more than enough to do the rest. He's put up plenty of production so far this season with just a pair of interceptions, and ultimately has been the driver of explosive plays for this offense, with Horace Billing averaging just 4.1 yards per carry with a long of 21 on the season.

As usual, Hunter won't be asked to carry the load in this one - but there will come a time in the season where we have to lean on our young quarterback. And honestly, I can't wait to see how this young gun responds. Will it come against a team that's shown it can win a game with either side of its football team?

You'll just have to wait and see - it'll be the Governors traveling to the best team in the Evermore division as we continue on with interdivisional Big 8 play.

They will have a final tune-up game against the Fathoms, who need the win to keep pace with Anchors Academy. The Victors, whose running game is strong but not much else, have won so many close games, held aloft by their youthful defense. It's not likely that any team will be able to take down the Blue and White, but it would be fun to watch them try.

Summary: With the Inquisitors still struggling to put teams away - the way that the Cats scored twenty-one points in the fourth quarter of their matchup was way too easy - they have dropped three of their last four and can be eclipsed by the Cats or even the Wheels. The Cats, led by Senior Quarterback Eza Danielson, will take on the Wheels head on, clinching Playoffs if they win. It would take a lot for the Barracudas to not make it, but it's technically possible; Freshman Quarterback Samuel Hodges has been hot and cold - he threw four interceptions in the loss against the Cats - but he doesn't have to do a whole lot. The Cats have won four straight, and may be the hottest team in the conference - can they force the Inquisitors out?

Summary: Yes, the Wights are only a game behind, but the fact that the Shooting Stars and the Rangers play each other on the tenth matchday makes it a de facto Playoff Game. In the first leg, the Rangers won by one point; this means that as long as the Shooting Stars win by more than one, they'll face the Battle Angels instead. With Senior Quarterback Noelle Fisk having a bit of a harder time without a lot of her reliable weapons from last season, the Rangers have fallen on hard times, needing to win their last two matches to even get to this point and even losing a game to the Albatrosses; the Shooting Stars, on the other hand, have won enough close games to earn their spot, despite having a very dismal Point Differential. Staramara has been in hold of this Conference for so long - can the Shooting Stars butt their way in?

Summary: With Senior Quarterback Eduard Hickson injured for the rest of the season with a broken right clavicle, the Sand Vipers have taken a dive - barely splitting their games 2-2 with Freshman Quarterback Reece Santos taking the helm. This has caused chaos on the rest of the Division, and of all the teams, Senior Quarterback Bernice Draymond and her reliable target, Sophomore Receiver Carson Prince, has taken a hold of the Conference for the Southern Urrheddiao Gold. It's hard to tell who is the favorite to make it to the Championship Game against them - but the Fog Wall of Tihon Elite Academy have the best chance, even with Quarterback Cad Filox being a Freshman. All he has to do is take down the defending Champions - but they are shambles of their former selves, after all.

Summary: With the decline of Onwuatuegwu and the Robots, the Conference has been wide open - and the Geomancers have been the ones to take full advantage of that, with Senior Quarterback Lance Ott leading the way for the best offense in the Conference. The Robots will need to actually take them down to have a chance, and they are definitely capable of that, while the Fireworks' Cinderella season could culminate with a win over already eliminated Flames of the Revolution High School to clinch their second place spot. Really, if it wasn't for Vitoron's loss to the Fireworks and the Spectrum, they'd be in a much better position, but their clock management and turnover control has been abysmal. Still, not too late to turn this around, and since it's the Robots, they still need to be respected.

Summary: By winning all four matches, including a shutout win over the Runners, the Masterminds have taken control of the Conference once again, led by their Senior Running Back Josip Hradjic and Senior Strong Safety Peter Rundstead. Both the Cruisers and the Runners could make it to the Title Game, though the Runners have lost three of their last four, and have a tricky matchup against the Drills, who can air it out. Instead, it's the Cruisers that may have the best chance at the Conference Title Game, having defeated the Runners and the Wings in the second half of the season behind the steady hand of Senior Quarterback Mikayla Anne.

Summary: With a day to spare, the Dread and the Terror have secured their spots in the Championship Game. With the Dread winning the Head-to-Head Point Differential battle, the Terror will have to hope that the Knights can take down the Dread to try to get home field; they themselves will be tuning up for the Conference Championships by taking on the Defenders. Both the Dread and the Terror are similar - with Quarterbacks that are more Game Managers, talented targets, and opportunistic defenders. They split the season series 1-1, and the rematch for the Conference Title and a spot in the District Tile Game will be fascinating - though Franscesca Larriet-Cortes looms in the horizon.

If the Darkness were to win by more than nine points (to win the Head-to-Head Point Differential battle with the Monsoon) and the Naysayers were to lose as well, then it'll be the Darkness facing off against the Martyrs, as the Darkness have swept the Naysayers. It should be highly entertaining to see who will take on the Martyrs, who will be using this week to finish rehabbing a bunch of injured players that have led to some losses in the second half of the season. Make no mistake - Noah Sellers and the Martyrs will be a problem once the playoffs start. Will it be Willo Kyne and the Monsoon? Neon Meer and the Naysayers? Or will Amy Piltonger and the Darkness pull off a colossal upset and advance to take on the Martyrs?

Governors Concede Points For The First Time In 3 Weeks,
Still Roll Through Evermore Leader Hankow State

Image
The Honey Badgers were the first team that's managed to score on the best defense in college football in three weeks, but it wasn't nearly enough to overcome these Governors

If it helps to put into perspective just how dominant this team is - there isn't a team in the NSCF that's allowed less than double the amount of points Richardson has through six contests. While our defense was of course stalwart last season, they'd allowed 80 thus far in their 12-1 NSCF 26 campaign. Between then and now, they've lost Kaiser Belfort and Gideon Kearse, starters for the Ranorian Krauts and, in Kearse's case, the reigning NSCF defensive player of the year. Somehow, Harrowitz has this edition of the Richardson defense humming even better.

So who's the man here? There's a few studs - Kasper Ulvestad of course led the team in sacks last season and has notched 4.5 so far. The Vanorian senior is making a case to be an early pick in the RFL draft should he choose to go that route, and his countryman in Totte Lindberg has really made strides as a sophomore. Throw in a lockdown corner in junior Takeuchi Ichiko and you've got the star power, at least. But it'd take more than that to beat Hankow State. But this team simply doesn't have the top-end talent overall that they had last season, even if true freshman defensive end Shean Eckert has been a nice surprise. Eckert's notched 2.5 sacks as a situational pass rusher and certainly carved out a role for himself as an heir-apparent to Ulvestad.

The Honey Badgers, who sported the NSCF's best defense for a time before Cold Hill dropped 40 points on them, made a change at quarterback and put up a season-high 33 points to stun Rowenna Hastroff and Kohnhead City. With Willie Gordon at the helm, they've proven they can win a slugfest or a shootout, but Kasen Harrowitz echoed Chris Dale a season ago when asked about the win.

"We did what we were supposed to do. We did that in our first twelve games last season, and it didn't mean much with how the last two went." Blunt sure, but the well-spoken Chromatik always has been, and he's never been one to show much excitement - even after his defense recorded two interceptions and five sacks. These Governors were expected to be reeling from their loss to Loyola-Istria and first round bow-out against Felswyr State in the playoffs, but they appear to be on an absolute warpath. Willie Gordon never had a chance, taking back-to-back sacks to end his first drive of play before he gave it up to the Governors - who ate clock and enforced their will early on an 11 play, 61 yard drive that ended in a touchdown courtesy of Horace Billing.

The big bruiser hasn't been flashy this season, but his tough running has kept freshman Isaiah Hunter protected from needing to carry the load thus far, and that's all this offense asks of him. If we need an explosive play, there's a few players we can go to - and fellow Chromatika native Cosntantina Perrier has certainly been one of them. This passing attack has run through her thus far this season, and it showed as she reeled in two of the team's five total touchdowns, one on a deep post after badly beating Ruben Villarreal on a press coverage assignment.

No Signs of Stopping: Youngblood Puts Up 13 Touchdown Passes In Three Week Stretch As Cold Hill Tears Through Overmatched Evermore Division

Image
With sophomores Kadesh Odika and Ann Maurice-Vivayavich lighting it up at Felswyr State and ULI, Benoit Youngblood is doing his part to make a case as the best quarterback in college football

Benoit didn't start hot - despite of course being unbeaten, his numbers weren't much to write home about. Through his first three contests, he threw three touchdowns and ran for another against a worrisome six interceptions. After the Buffalo fanbase suffered through the much-hyped Robin Sterling's collapse in NSCF 26, some were starting to get flashbacks - but anyone with a brain knew what was going on. Youngblood hadn't played competitive football in well over a year, and while he has a solid grasp on the playbook and is composed, it's tough to step up against the best conference in football after that kind of break. And even despite that adversity, he flashed enough to let everyone know he had the potential to be the next legend at quarterback for these Buffalo with a game-winning touchdown pass against Swisston and late scores to ice games against fellow juggernauts in Richardson and Kohnhead City.

Once the competition dropped a bit, well, it looked like he was playing on easy mode.

Benoit's now played two separate teams that have had the best defense in the NSCF at some point - he blew them both out, Richardson by 13-3, and now Hankow State in his first real breakout in a 40-21 slaughter. That kicked off their interdivisional schedule, and the Benolution has taken full advantage of the coalition of NSCF newcomers now with 13 touchdown passes through three games- 5 against Hankow State, and then 4 each against Summit University and Bermia Santura.

"It's been nice to play some teams that aren't quite as established," the budding superstar conceded in a post-game press conference, "But it's tough to win games at this level regardless, we just want to keep putting up points and helping our defense out." Benoit was kind, but the Everless division has won all but one of their contests against the Evermore so far, and that was an incredible showing by a Hankow State team that is absolutely turning some heads. With now nineteen total scores on the season, these Buffalo receivers have been thriving - especially senior Nikolas Isaksen. After two years of being Aurel Strathos's go-to guy, to the tune of 2,326 yards in his first two seasons, he managed just over 900 in NSCF 26 with the likes of Robin Sterling and Hannah Young taking snaps.

But as stacked as that unit is, they can't do it alone. It's been Prokopios Vortigern Rooijakkers as the centerpiece of the defense who carried this squad while their offense was stuck in neutral in their opening three contests, registering 35 tackles in their first three games as he was employed heavily in order to slow down an imposing Mighty Eagles rushing attack.

The 6'10" menace has been getting some snaps for a perennial playoff-contender in Drawkland's grid corps, and led the Buffalo defense in TFL, INT, and tackles a season ago. Now, he's got two touchdowns this season already - one on a bit of a gadget play on a shovel pass, and another on a pick-6 against Summit University to give him what's already his fourth takeaway of the season. This Buffalo defense is a bit bare after being spoiled for years with the likes of Candace Ferrett, Victoria Mio, and Koman Tabor, but they're still fielding one of the best collegiate players in the game on their back seven - if they need someone to change the game, they know where to look.

At 6-0 with one more game of interdivisional play, it's looking more and more like the week 10 match between these Buffalo and Richardson will decide who gets to take on a vengeful Hankow State for the Big 8 Championship - can Youngblood and Proko continue to dominate their game-breaking talent on the road to what could be a second undefeated regular season in three years?

Dr. Heo and the Portal of Madness

PART 2 - Light Years

Wind crashed all over the streets of Joongyeong as they descended from the layers of clouds that covered the dark, afternoon sky of a May afternoon in the nation’s capital. The mourners of all shapes and colours, who regardless of their socioeconomic class had queued for half a day leading up to the occasion, found themselves waving at the Queen Mother Nathalie’s hearse as they were given a slow, well-paced way around the city’s boulevard.

It was an unexpectedly cold day with winds that hit like blisters. The funeral itself, while a stripped-down affair as instructed by the late Queen Mother, was surprisingly packed with a crowd whose presence had brought a certain adieu more fulfilling of own. The mourners’ faces, while never joyful, did not mark the end of an era as people would associate a monarch or their consort’s passing. The immortality of an institution that was the Quebecois monarchy, one that had transcended faiths and spirit-human boundaries, had meant that we don’t say goodbye, at least not a permanent one.

Still, the normally-colourful, organised streets of Joongyeong and the limestone halls of the Sandringham Abbey greyed and twirled on screen, as the commoner Queen Mother, the grandmother of the current monarch Christine II, was laid to rest. As expected everything went along meticulously as the choirs sang their usual repertoire for a royal funeral, while a pipe major played ‘Durme Durme’.

The figures civil and dignitary stood and kept their heads low to bid their beloved Queen Mother farewell. Those expected who made their presence known were past Prime Ministers and opposition leaders, and most prominent members of the nobility. There were also some surprising names among the commoners who were present at the ceremony, this group of mourners always present in royal funerals but even more so at this ceremony, especially with the late Queen Mother’s insistence upon limiting the military and political presence at her own funeral.

Everybody loved Nathalie. Long pitied by the media and the public as the woman who had entered the Daemyeonggoong in the heat of the turbulent eighties, the five-foot-five woman of Jewish origins in Kingston’s Aubrey Hill neighbourhood came to find himself loved by her people. Perhaps this sentiment of how beloved she was, something that would persist long past her husband Henri VIII’s eight-month reign between years 2011 and 2012, had best reflected among the commoner contingent present. Most of them, from the likes of NSCF Commissioner Dexter Ahn to a small town mayor out north, had borne particular connections to the Queen Mother thanks to their respective domains of service and servitude (usually meaning environmentalism and the inter-regional dialogue). With the ceremony’s weight weighing down on them, and their feet seemingly bound by a slab of lead, they quietly wept while standing.

One of them present was Dr. Heo Dong-Soo. Nowadays the people would remember him as the famous father of two of the biggest superstars in Quebec & Shingoyeo - CSKA Quebec point guard Heo Myeong-Yoon and Kingston Tigers third baseman Heo Myeong-Shin - but here he came on his own merit, all alone. The sixty-five-year-old man found his body particularly rigid today, the stiffness of his tailcoat and tophat particularly strong in this ceremony of mourning and remembrance. I am used to all this, but not exactly how solemn and dead silent a ceremony can get, thought he, as he felt the itch on the collar of his neck. Of course, I have empathised with her all this time. I a widower, and her a widow.

While remarkable with plans he was never really good with emotions. They almost always came in either flood of hot water, or just never come until it’s too late, and his reminder that the Queen Mother had stayed a widow for the last 44 years, long past the passing of two of her four children - the late Jacques IX and Prince William - did not make him feel any more comfortable. This was very much the reason why he had hoped that his primary position - that of a mere Distinguished Professor of History and Comparative Literature at St. Croix’s Seonggyoongwan University College - would absolve him of such a duty from approaching him, for the loss of his late wife Maureen still rang deeply into his heart 17 years into that day.

But it was his other position, that of the Head of Royal Shingoryeoite Archives, and former professor of the Christine II that brought him to the funeral. The late Jacques IX, the Queen Mother’s son and the current Queen’s father, had been a major advocate for Heo’s return to Joongyeong after almost twenty years of teaching at Queen’s College and the University of Kingston. While never really a devout man Jacques IX was aware of the significance his daughter’s spiritual education held in the maintenance of the nation. Dr. Heo and Jacques IX had been rivals in the cadet (under-17) and junior (under-20) age classes of the domestic fencing circuit in the late-2000s, so he knew then that the offer was something personal as well.

Unfortunately, all this ceremony was done for the elderly man was less than optimal. Even for Dr. Heo, a staunch royalist on domestic terms, all of this was hitting him in the wrong spots. While he held positive recollections of the late Queen Mother, who he remembered firmly as James’s soft-spoken mother, the celebration of her life, which was to great extent remembered as a widower, was more than enough to have him feel sick to the stomach as it had only reminded them about the departures of those around him, even for a man who had lived for extensive periods abroad in Electrum, al-Tamazgha and Acadiana while a child, and no less the damage.

I need no reminder of what I have to come home to. Just a reminder of what I have lost over time, maybe.

Dr. Heo knew he had to get out somewhere. He knew there was so much he had to do - a monograph on the motifs of the tragic voyages of late Arlenian era clippers were one, the other being a monograph of the Koreanophone magical modernism in early-Alexandrinian era Joongyeong scene - but it was more the question of which he should do, not what at that point. At that point, it’s a matter of picking one he had felt most likely or promising and just working on it on a piece-to-piece basis. Still, all that he had achieved felt like a mirage and he didn't exactly have an answer for it, as he heard the piper finish the last line of the song. Then, as a solitary tear came out of his left eye, he couldn't help but to wonder what had happened over all these years.

Contrary to what people think, the past doesn’t always bring the promise for the future…

NSFB-CF: Another Double Win Before Homecoming Week

Postby TJUN-ia » Thu Sep 22, 2022 8:08 am

Both schools from New Gesem beat both of our schools last week, with one game being close and the other not as much. That weekend was almost torture to anyone who supported one of TJUN-ia's schools but everyone also knew that opportunities were still available to them if they just continued to win their remaining games on the schedule. The previously undefeated UCBP would lose this weekend - things certainly aren't over yet.

Let's start with the Trent State Feathercaps, who lost to Alexandroupolis by 19 points and were now back in the trenches at 2-3. Johnny Bridgeford certainly didn't like having a losing record at all and as such, he was determined more than ever to try and get his team back in the game - starting here, in the Canadian Dominion, against the Waterloo Redcoats. This game was actually closer than many expected as a team with only 1 win to their name came within 3 points of beating the Feathercaps. They managed 2 TDs, 2 PATs and 2 FGs in a cracking performance for this debuting team but TSU managed to just about hold on for the win. Jason Steels scored 3 TDs - once to each of Ivan and Peter Borosić and a QB running play - with Eleonora "Firefeet" Scafakou managing 2/3 on PATs and a FG. 3-3...but just.

Meanwhile, the Green City Royal Eagles lost to Constantinople in Overtime and that certainly didn't sit well with Moses Igbinoghene or Paul Abdullahi. They came very close to winning that one, but they did not and wanted to get back on track almost immediately. That opportunity would come against the Bowerstone Bobcats of Anthor and this would be a 5-point game. The Bobcats were pretty good for being a 0-5 squad and managed 25 points - 3 TDs, 1/1 on 2-point conversions, 2/2 on PATs and a FG - but GCU had a mission and it would be executed with 4 TDs, Moses finding both Gilbert Nyamutsamba and Lucky Sithole-Sita twice while Glory Oparanozie going 3/4 on PATs and 1/1 on FGs. 30-25 was the final score...not convincing, but 4-2 was still 4-2.

Round 2 against New Gesem but this time, it's personal in a way many in both campuses will understand. Next week is Homecoming Week, where former alumni make the trip back to Notts and Green City to watch their team play, and the 5-1 schools will be the final Boreal opponents both schools will face all season - with the Constantinople Binturongs at Sherwood Field and the Alexandroupolis Redbirds at The Palace. Big Games Indeed...where a lot of things will be on the line. More than anyone can imagine.

Johnston Memorial Stadium to be Expanded
Staramara Tech will need a home venue for NSCF 28

STARAMARA, URRHED ISLAND - In a narrow vote, the Staramara Tech University Board of Directors passed a measure, 8 votes to 5, to expand Johnston Memorial Stadium from 4,500 seats to 29,350 seats, to take place at the end of the current NSCF season. The Board were split on whether a new stadium would be best for the University or the current stadium should be expanded, and after due deliberation, the motion to expand the existing stadium won.

It is expected to take about an year and a half to complete the renovations, which will include the facilities surrounding the stadium to be built from scratch as well. The stadium will not have a domed roof, exposing it to the elements as is the Staramara way, while the field will be grass instead of turf, per the university's wishes. There will be state of the art facilities for both the teams, along with heated benches.

Instead of the one huge screen around the fifty yard line like at the Firehawks' Roost with two smaller screens at either end zone, the new Johnston Memorial Stadium (the name will stay the same) will have two screens at either end of the stadium and a smaller one at midfield.

Staramara Tech has already entered into an agreement with Henza Architecture, which has built most of the stadia around the country; the money is expected to come from the Trust behind the University along with a sizable donation from the Chromatik Football Federation.

"We now have the opportunity to make sure that STU gets the same treatment as FSU," stated Board of Directors Chairman Marquis Laurent about the decision, "No longer will we be limited by the number of seats available, and no longer will people have cause to look down at us. We get to keep the historic field but keep it updated for current needs. What's better than that?"

The biggest worry for Lava fans is the question of where they will play next season. Some of the candidates are the United Center in Urrheddiao, Argonaut Field at Urrheddiao State University, or perhaps the Tidal Wave at Tihon.

"We will look at all the options and do our due diligence," promised Laurent, "We'll make sure that the Lava have a good place to call home for a season."

The new lineup of the Upper Westside University Red Pandas may have been enough to win some games, but the way the first four weeks of the 27th edition of NSCF played out, it seems it wasn't enough to do it more than once in a row. Win, loss, win, loss. That's how the new look squad of the UWU had done. So after showing the Elephant Valley University Red Elephants who the superior red animal team is in a 43-26 victory, many were looking for the Yeezies to take an L in their next matchday. Not only because it would continue their pattern of losing after they've won, but also because it's the mighty Cougars of Northern Moravica University whom they will be facing. But no. The Red Pandas proved everyone wrong. Down 31-13 to their Banijan counterparts at the end of the third quarter, they mounted a huge comeback to force overtime, eventually winning on their very first play of the period, a 69-yard touchdown run (nice) by freshman running back Dayquan Tramell.

The pair of wins allowed Upper Westside to move to the top of the Sequoia Division standings at 4-2 and second overall in the Celestia Conference, trailing only the University of Loyola-Istria Blue Thunder (5-1), whom they had narrowly lost to in Matchday Four. After next week's game against the Ratzupalfu University of Nature Egrets, the Red Pandas will have faced every other team in the conference at least once, and what will follow are the three division rematches and then the three non-conference games. If Coach Fabio Forelli and his boys continue to get into the groove, they could either look to make and even win a bowl game, like they did during their maiden campaign, or even take a crack at the playoffs.

Meanwhile, representatives from Vylet, St. Kanye's biggest and one of Atlantian Oceania's fastest growing internet service providers, have paid a visit to the NSCF headquarters in Quebec and Shingoryeo with a proposal to sponsor a brand new bowl game to be held later this season. Called the Vylet Cyber Bowl, it not only promises to boost the popularity of college gridiron in the Glorious Free Republic, but also offer an alternative to the usual matchups seen in existing bowls. Instead of, say, the non-playoff team that scores the most points facing off against the one that allowed the least, the Cyber Bowl organizers went with a different approach, wherein the most 'dominant' non-playoff team (most wins by 21 points or more) will play the most "exciting" one (most wins by seven points or fewer). If approved, the game will be held at the Santa Zendaya Stadium in Santa Zendaya city, a venue that boasts of more than 65,000 seats and, perhaps more uniquely, a half-mile racetrack (the Santa Zendaya Speedway) surrounding the field. This also ties in with Vylet's existing involvement in motorsports, as they are perhaps more known outside St. Kanye as the primary sponsor of Nationstates Stock Car Racing Association champion driver Jeremiah Brooke.

Benton vows to punish "quitters"
by Teresa Bramlage, College Football Writer

The University of the Commonwealth return to Gleason Field for their final inter-divisional contest against University of Waterloo, and in the wake of the loss to Constantinople, Head Coach Ryan Benton promised there would be no repeat of 52-19 defeat.

"Never in my entire tenue here have I been so disappointed by the lack of intensity and pride as I saw the other night. We've got a lot of sophs in the team, and maybe we've been a bit lax on how we've approached team discipline, but that's gonna change now."

Benton benched Neal Antonelli after the junior QB threw his third interception in the first half with the Warriors down 24-0 and sat several other starters through the second half. The Binturongs led 31-0 at the break and were never challenged by a UC team that showed some spirit in the second half but not enough to erase the malaise of the opening 30 minute stretch.

Jarvis Banks completed 14 of 20 passes for 193 yards and 2 TD's in relief of the Metro Player of the Year, but Benton reaffirmed that Antonelli would be back as starter against the Redcoats.

"Players have bad games. You replace them, make them learn from their mistakes, then put them back out. We've worked on some things in the game plan, changed up a couple situational calls to smooth things out. Neal will be fine, but he needs to show better concentration this week."

Waterloo come in with only a single win out of six during their MinCon debut but the Warrior boss has approached the game with the same intensity as though UBP or Northern Moravica were the visitors.

The conference will return to divisional play for the final three weeks, with UC heading to Trent State for their final regular season MinCon road tilt before a run of three straight home games including the first visit of Summit University on the opening non-conference weekend.

The Vietussian Inquisitor
Welp: Honey Badgers suffer worst loss of the season in total collapse

Image
Perhaps still celebrating the high of a bounceback win, the Honey Badgers looked almost hungover as they were thoroughly steamrolled in a 34-3 loss.

Hoo boy.

We're not even sure how to begin to analyze this one. Let's simply start with the facts: the Honey Badgers simply couldn't get anything going on either side of the ball in an abysmal 34-3 loss to Richardson. While pundits would've been fairly unanimous in saying this would be a tough match for Hankow State, nobody predicted the absolute drubbing that took place at Celebration Field. "Let's not beat around the bush: we got it handed to us," head coach Lee Chapman said. "Our game plan never came to fruition, and we simply couldn't find any sort of rhythm in this game. It's a character-building game for us; our guys know what it's like to suffer horrible defeat, and I think they'll be doing everything in their power to make sure that never happens again simply because this feeling sucks for everyone involved."

Hot off an offensive revival behind QB Willie Gordon's stellar debut, the Honey Badger offense only mustered a single field goal over the course of the game, making this the first game that they failed to find the end zone this season. "It's tough to have to follow up such a great performance with the one we had tonight," QB Willie Gordon said. "But if there's any group of guys that can learn from both the highest of highs and the lowest of lows, I know without a doubt in my mind that it's this team right here." If it's any consolation to the Honey Badgers, their lone field goal represented the first points scored against the vaunted Richardson defense in 3 weeks.

Meanwhile, questions are ballooning on the defensive end. After such a stellar start to the season, the Honey Badger defense has now surrendered at least 30 points to each of their last 3 opponents, raising some concerns as the Honey Badgers look to make a final push for the conference championship. "Look, I'm not gonna pretend that the last few games have been pretty," DC Caleb Franks said, "but we've got to look at the schedule a bit. We've played 3 historical powers over the past 3 weeks, and we were able to escape with at least a win. We've been the only team in the entire division that can claim that so far. Getting these interdivisonal wins are great for morale, and this defense has certainly learned a lot in the past few weeks, but as long as we take care of business within the division, we're certainly still on track."

(Time remaining in quarter in parentheses.)

1st Quarter:
(6:17) Horace Billing 3 yard run for a TOUCHDOWN. 0-7, Richardson leads.

2nd Quarter:
(14:34) Shirley Woo 43 yard field goal is GOOD. 0-10, Richardson leads.
(7:11) Isaiah Hunter 56 yard pass to Constantina Perrier for a TOUCHDOWN. 0-17, Richardson leads.
(0:00) Lewis Love 49 yard field goal is GOOD. 3-17, Richardson leads.

3rd Quarter:
(9:48) Isaiah Hunter 12 yard pass to Constantina Perrier for a TOUCHDOWN. 3-24, Richardson leads.
(3:33) Shirley Woo 39 yard field goal is GOOD. 3-27, Richardson leads.

4th Quarter:
(7:56) Horace Billing 5 yard run for a TOUCHDOWN. 3-34, Richardson leads.

And now for a look around the league (OOC: Some Week 7 results have been released at the time of publishing. These are not accounted for in these rankings and will be factored into the next edition.):

1: Cold Hill University (6-0, last week: 1)
The Cold Hill train keeps pushing full steam ahead as they look to be on pace for the Big Eight conference championship as long as they keep taking care of business, including a rematch against Richardson down the road. Our #1 team looked every bit of the part in their dominant road win, and they now are the sole undefeated team remaining in the NSCF.

2: Felswyr State University (5-1, last week: 3)
Felswyr State notched a convincing road win against a Silverleaf team that has been in a bit of a tailspin in interdivision play. The only remaining obstacle for this team is going to be winning a rematch with Staramara further down the road so long as they continue to take care of business before then.

3: Richardson University (5-1, last week: 4)
This defense is deadly. Only allowing just over 7 PPG, the only thing holding this team back from the number 1 spot is their loss to Richardson earlier in the season. We may be prepared to even stick them back in the number 2 spot if this performance holds up against their tougher division opponents.

4: Staramara Tech University (5-1, last week: 5)
A close road win, but they still maintain the inside lane to make the Horizon conference championship game. With all the close calls they've had though, we're a bit skeptical that they hold this lane when it comes time for the Felswyr rematch.

5: Constantinople University (5-1, last week: 8 )
We want to take this time to profusely apologize to Constantinople fans, as we've slept on this team all season. We only first introduced them into our rankings last week, and they turned around and obliterated our number 2 team. Right now, they look every bit like a contender, and Constantinople will try and ride this momentum all the way to a conference championship berth.

6: University of the Commonwealth of Baker Park (5-1, last week: 2)
And on the other side, ouch. U of CBP could not stop a red hot Constantinople offense, though this is only their first loss of the year. This game aside, the team had presented a relatively strong defense, and they still hold a one game lead within the division, potentially setting up a Constantinople rematch to end conference play.

7: University of Loyola-Istria (5-1, last week: 7)
And just like that, they're right back ahead of Northern Moravica following NMU's loss. Loyola will likely stay on a crash course for a potentially division-deciding rematch with Northern Moravica to end the season in what will certainly be a must-see rivalry matchup.

8: University of Alexandroupolis (5-1, last week: 9)
The offense has come alive over the past few weeks as U of Alexandroupolis have locked themselves into what will likely be a winner-take-all rematch in intradivision play with the large lead they've both amassed over their other two division foes. They had a shaky start, but Alexandroupolis has certainly been trending in the right direction in recent weeks.

9: Northern Moravica University (4-2, last week: 6)
We got a clear look at what happens when the defense doesn't show up in enough force for this NMU side. The offense was as good as ever (and continues to be), but the defense continues to raise question marks over this team's ability to compete for a title. The Loyola rematch is still the key matchup to watch here.

10: Sadeg State University (4-2, last week: UR)
The Starlight division looks quite deep this season, and while Sadeg State may not be in the inside lane to win their division, their +72 point differential is certainly an eye-popping stat. Perhaps they're a dark horse pick for a potential division title run if they get a few things to break their way?

Next Up: Green City University (4-2)

The Honey Badgers will look to close out interdivision play on a better note when they take to the road against Swisston City. A win could potentially put the division close to out of reach, as Hankow State currently possesses a two game lead in the division while all other Evermore teams have failed to notch a interdivision win to this point. "This loss was tough, but I think the guys can taste this division crown," RB Mark Dyer said. "There's just a little more work left to be done, but we certainly want to do it in style if we can help it."

Style points may be the name of the game after such a crushing loss, as Hankow State will be looking for a bit of a pick-me-up following the Richardson game. Willie Gordon will look to get his rhythm back under center, and the defense will certainly be looking to figure out how to correct course before reentering division games. Swisston represents one final chance for the Honey Badgers to refine the impurities exposed by their tougher Everless foes and present an even stronger team heading back into Evermore play.

Hankow State University 2022 Schedule:
Week 1: vs. Bermia Santura W 17-10
Week 2: @ Panem University W 16-3
Week 3: @ Summit University W 15-14
Week 4: @ Cold Hill L 21-40
Week 5: vs. Kohnhead City W 33-30
Week 6: vs. Richardson University L 3-34
Week 7: @ Swisston City
Week 8: @ Bermia Santura
Week 9: vs. Panem University
Week 10: vs. Summit University
Big Eight Conference Championship Game: TBD
Week 11: vs. Upper Westside
Week 12: vs. U of Mancodas

Anything written only represents the character, not the user behind Banija nor the views of Banijans in general. Accordingly, this is the furthest thing from an unbiased source of information you'll find about the NSCF.

The Coulibaly Corner: Your one stop shop for everything college football!

Hey guys! Welcome back to my corner of the internet for everything college football! I, of course, usually cover the NSCF, especially the two Banijan schools, as well as domestic college football here in Banija. I'm a University of Moravica grad- aka, we don't like either of the Banijan schools. But of course, due to physical proximity, they get the Lion's share of this blog's attention.

It occurred to me- much of our international readership might not know the first thing about Banijan college football! Of course, they know all about our two biggest programs... But what about the rest of the country? The traditions of Banijan college football? The history of college football outside of this nation's NSCF institutions- NMU and Loyola-Istria.

You know about the storied history of the North v. South Showdown. You know how the Loyola campuses absolutely despise each other. You know U of Moravica grads were celebrating Upper Westside's stunning 18 point fourth quarter comeback against Northern Moravica, to stun the Banijan public school. But what about the other biggest rivalries? Let's dive deep...

The Story of Banijan College football- Our country's biggest non-NSCF Rivalries

Let's dive right into it, shall we! We're not going to rank these rivalries 1-5, as of course those ebb and flow. But we're going to talk, briefly, about what most people agree are the biggest 3 college football rivalries remaining in Banija. Some history, some traditions.

Army(Kabaka's Military College) v. Navy(Banijan Royal Naval Academy)

You could include the Royal Air Force Academy in here for the three-way rivalry, but let's be real- while the service academies don't like each other, it all starts with the traditional rivalry, that many countries with big time college football see- Army v. Navy. The military academies, naturally, don't recruit like the traditional schools. It's tough for them to recruit at all- they've got the smallest linemen in the country, since of course, there are weight requirements and what not to serve in the armed forces. Why would a 5 star go to a military academy and serve when the riches of the GFLB await by going to literally any other college?

The most fun tradition, is the Army v. Navy contest. These two start the season- and they get their own weekend. All of Banijan college football pays homage to them, in week 0, because every single BCSG(aka D1) head coach attends the game, with a captain. Has all the pageantry of the kickoff of college football, with pre-game shows, the Royal Family attending, etc... And the game played at the historic Stadium of the Restoration. This game occurs well before the start of the NSCF season, and one week before the rest of Banijan college football kicks off. Who can hate on Army v. Navy?

Army leads the all-time series, 75-60.

University of Moravica v. University of Hangaza

I'm a Moravica grad, so I'll give you some frank honesty(and bias)- [redacted] the University of Hangaza, and they can go to [redacted]. (Editor's note: The next sentence was so foul, that we couldn't even simply redact the bad words, but had to redact the entire sentence). To understand this rivalry on the gridiron, however, we have to understand exactly how much Northern Moravica's leaving the BCSG in football affected conference alignment at home. We were longtime members of the Northern 9. However, with our biggest gridiron rival gone, we re-evaluated. Why be in a conference with a bunch of northern schools?

We were an interior school. So like quite a few schools in that time period, we changed conferences- going to the Valley Interior Conference. And as our football program really took off, it's been the University of Hangaza who have been our biggest rivals. Since the season equivalent to NSCF 19, when Loyola-Jinja went unbeaten and won the conference, there have just been two gridiron teams that have been crowned as VIC conference champs- U of Moravica, and U of Hangaza. The newest rivalry? Yes. But with consistent high-stakes matchups, helped by bad blood and geography(our beautiful small town vs. their biggest nasty city, our cool state against their [redacted] one), the rivalry is natural.

Of course, last year, we ran up the score, 35-3, at their own house- stunning the world. They'll get more of where that came from pretty damn soon, when they come to Slobochia.

Kizza i College v. The University of Ankole

Two historic conference rivals down south. Kizza I College are the big public school in our nation's capitol, and have always played in the same conference as the University of Ankole. In fact, it is the most played rivalry in Banijan history- more times than the North v. South Showdown, more times than Army v. Navy. "We've been playing these bastards for longer than anyone can remember." Said Kizza I's head coach, before last year's contest. "And yet- we've always had the better team than them."

Of course, this builds like many rivalries- geography, stakes, and class. Busukuma is one of the wealthiest places in Banija, naturally, and as it shares a border with the Ankole region, there's a lot of people who go back and forth. So many people live in the Ankole suburbs and work in the Banijan capitol. Conversely, many capitol dwellars end up going to college at U of A, especially if they can't get into Kizza I College. Combine that with the fact that, Busukuma high schoolers compete for state titles within Ankole... And the seeds for this rivalry are obvious.

Kizza I College is certainly the bigger brand, with a greater history of success- but U of A always plays them tough. One of CFB's most chaotic rivalries, eh? The two teams battle for a Golden Triceratops, a statue of Banija's rarest animal.

Former rivalries of Banijan NSCF Schools
No need for a ton of details here... But....

Northern Moravica v. University of Moravica- they were so scared of playing us, they sprinted away to a literal international competition, to play schools as far away as other planets and literally outer space, to avoid playing us again. Scared bastards, right?

Loyola Tri-Derby- Istria v. Jinja v. Busukuma- They all hate each other, profusely. Of course, this rivalry was always dominated by Loyola-Istria. For the 33 years leading into Loyola-Istria's inauguaral entrance into the NSCF at NSCF 13, Loyola-Istria only lost to both regional campuses one time. Once. They swept the two Loyola rivalry games across that same time period, 22 times. So think- 33 years. 2/3s of them, Loyola-Istria wins both. 10 of them, Loyola-Istria wins once. But those were some of the most fun. You've never seen a school treat their opponent with so much outright disrespect, and seen a fanbase get more infuriated, than when Loyola-Istria came into town to face either Loyola-Jinja or Loyola-Busukuma.

Loyola-Istria v. Islamic University of Busoga. Two religious schools, of very different religions, in the same conference? Of course they were rivals.
Former champion of quite a few things. Former President of even more things.

NSFB-CF: A Homecoming Split

Postby TJUN-ia » Sat Sep 24, 2022 4:50 am

The Boreal Division is certainly stronger than most would've assumed at first glance. This Mineral Conference has certainly shown its strength over the past 4 weeks, showing the rest of the NSCF what all 8 of us can do, on this special weekend, both of our schools looked to try and end their run-through the Boreal on a Homecoming High...but who would actually succeed in that quest?

Let's start with the Trent State Feathercaps, who managed a tight win over the Waterloo Redcoats last time out before this special Homecoming Weekend back at Sherwood Field. The opponents would be the 2nd contest against New Gesem, this time in the form of the Constantinople Binturongs, and to put it bluntly, this was a defensive scrap of epic levels that Johnny Bridgeford had to deal with. TDs were just hard to come by here and while poor Jason Steels was certainly trying to do something, that UC defence was certainly hard as nails all day. Our only points were via 2 FGs from Eleonora "Firefeet" Scafakou, leaving plenty of time for some magic from the other side. Banuma Diawara managed to score the only TD of the game via a rushing play while Cody Romero made the PAT and 2 FGs too. Just when you think that this is the start of a TSU revival, they stumble once more.

Meanwhile, the Green City Royal Eagles were also having their own Homecoming against a New Gesem squad, this time the Alexandroupolis Redbirds, and the mood over there was certainly feeling better than Notts right now. Paul Abdullahi was certainly enjoying the power his team currently had and this was a celebration of that fact in a great way. UA certainly brought it tonight, with Calvin Cotton scoring 2 TDs (once each to Damian Buchanan and Chris Shepard) and Clyde Head making 1/2 PATs, but Moses Igbinoghene was trying to make a point tonight and that would certainly be made. He managed 4 TDs tonight - once each via Gilbert Nyamutsamba, Lucky Sithole-Sita, Stella Oshoala and Batsogile Lovederia - while Glory Oparanozie managed an impressive 3/4 on PATs. This night certainly belonged to these 5-2 Royal Eagles...see you next week on TVI!

Back into the MinDiv both now go, with both teams facing interesting tests - TCU will hope to add a 2nd loss to the UCBP Warriors while GCU make the trip to face the 1-6 Gairuwa Parmawakhs from Arjunnagaar. A Division Champion must be decided, one way or another. The next 3 weeks will decide it all.

Lanar Central High School 20–30 Pelar High School
Tears of the Revolution High School 34–21 Lanar High School
Twin Cities High School 22–12 Rainbow Central High School
Summary: Irina Jones forced four turnovers, Lark Fromis ran in four scores, and the Saints of Tears of the Revolution High School overcame everyone's expectations to win the Conference in the regular season. The Hurons of Pelar High School will be their opponents, as Freshman Quarterback Reeva Karlston had what was arguably her best game of the season in a three-touchdown performance at Lanar Central. Three other teams were only a game behind, but it'll be the Saints hosting the Hurons.

MVP: Tears of the Revolution High School Senior MLB Irina Jones (125 tackles, 9 forced fumbles, 5 interceptions, 3 defensive touchdowns) - Jones was the hammer in the middle of the defense that forced enough turnovers to win games, if not conceding too many points to win consistently.

Conference Championship Game: Tears of the Revolution High School vs. Pelar High School
The Saints have upset the Hurons twice - surely they can't do it a third time? Lark Fromis has been on her best form in the last five games, and the presence of Irina Jones will be needed if they are to actually take down Karlston and the Hurons. Jacoby Laure-Brissett and Lark Fromis makes it two stud backs in this game, which should be fun to watch.

Summary: The Mimes almost lost their entire season when Senior Quarterback Anderson Joseph, Jr. went down in a heap after a hard tackle from the Peregrines; thankfully, he should be back for the Conference Title Game, but the Mimes lost big to the Peregrines. That gave the Riflemen a chance to win Home Field for the Conference Title Game, but the Recruits and their lines held them to thirteen points. Despite the upsets, this conference was owned by the expected duo of the Mimes and the Riflemen, and it'll be fun to see who comes out on top.

MVP: Jerome A. Samuelson High School Quarterback Anderson Joseph, Jr. (3,761 yards, 32 touchdowns, 11 interceptions) - A bit of a wild card with so many interceptions thrown, but Anderson Joseph took a huge step in his game and was one of the players to watch in this conference. With an unorthodox throwing motion, weapons on tap, and the drive to show that their Quarterfinal finish was not a fluke, the Mimes are the team to watch.

Conference Championship Game: Jerome A. Samuelson High School vs. North Sanar High School
Splitting the slate 1-1 has shown that either team can pull this off. Larry Pinmichael will be on Tiffany Morales for this matchup, and Mark Waddle will be coming for Anderson Joseph, Jr. - this should be one of the better matchups at this level.

Summary: Did anyone see this coming? The Abominable Snowmen had a chance to make it to the Title Game, but blew it by losing to the Glaciers behind four turnovers forced by the Glaciers' defense. Then, Randan High School surprisingly took down the Anacondas - the Rapiers had a twenty-one point lead by the middle of the Third Quarter, and though the Anacondas and Viktor Rowles tried for a spirited comeback, it was too little, too late. This really helps them feel like maybe, just maybe, they can take down the Anacondas in the Title Game?

MVP: Mr. Niar High School Senior QB Viktor Rowles (4,352 yards, 38 touchdowns, 1 interceptions) - A year removed from almost having the perfect season, Rowles was even better statistically - with only one interception thrown in ten games. He had plenty of targets, a reliable running back in Anne Holmes, and Jared Ittachi proving to be a great possession-based Tight End, but it was his individual prowess that truly shined through.

Conference Championship Game: Mt. Niar High School Anacondas vs. Randan High School
The Rapiers have done it once already - but can Sophomore Quarterback Pavel Ingram and Sophomore Running Back Grayson Dettmen really repeat that kind of a performance? Conventional wisdom says that the Anacondas are too stacked, but they only need to believe in it themselves to make it happen.

Summary: The Businessmen have had their way with the Conference for the second season in a row, while the Grizzlies are just a step behind them, having a worse offense but a better defense. Both teams win on the final matchday, and rather easily, to set up the matchup.

MVP: Brisara Trade School Senior QB Rico Divalles (3,504 yards, 24 touchdowns, 5 interceptions) - A far more stable season for Divalles, with only five interceptions thrown. Sure, he had less touchdowns, but Tary McLauren was absolutely a better player this season, and the Businessmen are in a better position than they were a season ago to take down the Grizzlies, and maybe even the Anacondas.

Conference Championship Game: Brisara Trade School Businessmen vs. Umbar Hills High School Grizzlies
The two teams split the season once again, and are so evenly matched when it comes to individual matchups. Rico Divalles against Ewan Pyrehamix, Tary McLauren against Beatrice Hak... It will be an interesting one for certain, and very fun to watch.

Summary: Both teams win their final day to make it to the Conference Title Game - West Shantarr barely squeaking by Anfanhar's Offensive Line, while East Shantarr had no issues putting away the Riders. +124 and +133 shows just how much better the two schools where compared to the rest of the Conference.

MVP: East Shantarr High School Senior Running Back Benjamin Marik (1,421 yards, 19 touchdowns, 1 fumble lost) - A bowling ball of a running back, Marik is 6' 2" of solid muscle who loves to run through contact. He was the majority of the Order's attack, letting Freshman Quarterback Daemon Argonaut work off of play-action. What a player.

Conference Championship Game: East Shantarr High School Order vs. West Shantarr High School Scorpions
Both matchups were tight in the regular season, and there is no love lost between the two teams. Expect lots of tough play, some bad blood, and fireworks as Francine Weller, Rea Atera, and Mylera Jorley take on Daemon Argonaut, Benjamin Merik, and Michael Larson.

Summary: With the Wizards coming through to take down the Red Devils - Senior Middle Linebacker Britney Hines forcing three turnovers - and the Condors tripping up the Artisans, the Chameleons make it to the Conference Title Game even after losing a marathon to the Majestics in Overtime. The Wizards look back in form, but by how much?

MVP: City of Lorentine High School Senior Middle Linebacker Britney Hines (151 tackles, 10 sacks, 11 forced fumbles, 6 interceptions, 4 defensive touchdowns) - Another year, another defensive leader paving the way for the Wizards. Hines is a hammer like Rinaldi, as smart as Park, and has the potential to be better than either of them. That just says how good she is.

Conference Championship Game: City of Lorentine High School Wizards vs. Crix Technical High School
How did the Chameleons make it with a negative Point Differential? Their defense will have to be on point if they have any shot at the Wizards - thankfully, Asmodel Propleier is one heck of a player, and it'll be fun to see if he or Hines perform better on the day.

Summary: East Rhoni needed a win to make it here, as the Gradients won their game against the Chimera, and the Kayaks came through. Junior Quarterback Evan Jerome threw for 491 yards and six touchdowns, Sophomore Wide Receiver Peter Langloif caught 11 of the passes for 191 yards and three of those scores, and the undefeatable outlook of the Cyclones fell.

MVP: Pride Academy Senior Cornerback Lyla Pale (51 tackles, 12 interceptions, 4 defensive touchdowns) - A wily, tall corner at 6' 9", Pale has tremendous jumping reach and a knack for the ball. She can be a bit too aggressive at times, but with her cerebral acuity getting better and better with time, she's become the complete package.

Conference Championship Game: Pride Academy Cyclones vs. East Rhoni High School Kayaks

Summary: City of Larhai did everything they could - Rila Kevex had a pick-six to ice the Heroes - but with the Sculptures handling the Cartographers in the second half, they lost on H2H Results among tied teams. It's disappointing, but for a team that was slated to finish sixth? Not bad.

MVP: City of Larhai High School Senior Outside Linebacker Rila Kevex (82 tackles, 9 sacks, 10 forced fumbles, 6 interceptions, 7 defensive touchdowns) - One of the only reasons that the Rush were in the race at all, Kevex's unique combination of physicality, speed, and nose for the ball really came through in the clutch. It's too bad they fell just short...

Conference Championship Game: J.H. Yadasky High School Heroes vs. Coastal Academy of the Arts Sculptures
The two teams split one-point wins during the regular season. With the Warhawks having a down year, the Sculptures have taken their place, and Sophomore Quarterback Hudson Charles may be ready to take the next step in establishing himself as one of the better Quarterbacks in the country. However this is till the Heroes' Conference to lose.

Summary: The Victors lost their Season Finale, but so did Myana Central and Myana Southesatern, leading to the Victors being the unlucky team to face the Blue and White in the Conference Title Game. Now, the Blue and White have conceded all of eighty-nine points all season, and they'll be a tough ask for the Victors.

MVP: Myana Northwestern High School Senior MLB Kerron Nicholas (162 tackles, 16 sacks, 3 interceptions, 4 forced fumbles, 2 defensive touchdowns) - The maestro of one of the best defensive units in the country, schools are just waiting for Nicholas to graduate. He has it all, with size (6 ft 8 inches tall), speed (4.51 40 yard dash), physicality, and coverage.

Conference Championship Game: Myana Northwestern High School Blue and White vs. Anchors Academy Victors
This is the Blue and White's game to lose, and they likely won't. Good job to the Victors for getting here so far, but this team? It's too good.

Summary: The Cats have taken the Conference in the regular season! After Senior Quarterback Eza Danielson found Junior Wide Receiver Madison Jones four times in a win over the Wheels, Bouveil Historical lost in overtime to the Reef - Freshman Quarterback Samuel Hodges throwing a crucial pick. Can a team built around one Senior really do it?

MVP: Academy of the Jungle Junior Wide Receiver Madison Jones (102 catches, 1,581 yards, 21 touchdowns) - A precise route runner with decent speed, Jones can lineup all over the field and pick apart the defense. Her partnership with Danielson has been the main reason for this team's rise, and her maturity is not one found in most young players.

Conference Championship Game: Academy of the Jungle Cats vs. Bouveil Historical School Barracudas
Sure, the teams may have split the matchup, but the way that the Cats beat the Barracudas by 60 in the second leg will give some pause. The partnership between Danielson and Jones is operating at peak efficiency, and it just may be the year that the Cats show everyone that they're the best team in Eyrods for a reason.

Summary: The Rangers have just fallen apart - their latest gaffe a loss to the Shooting Stars that allow them the opportunity to face the Battle Angels. Noelle Fisk, the Senior Quarterback, was good for three touchdowns, but the Shooting Stars' defense held when it needed to. Still, it's the Battle Angels that are the class of the Conference for the second year in row and the massive favorite to square off in the Urrhed Island Title Game.

MVP: Staramara Tech High School Senior Wide Receiver Romeo Carl (101 catches, 1,125 yards, 17 touchdowns) - It's not about the stats for Carl, it's about the when. With more than 75% of his touchdowns scored in the second half, Carl was the security blanket for Mattieu Hancock when he absolutely needed a target, and that partnership is what has led the Battle Angels back to the Title Game.

Conference Championship Game: Staramara Tech High School Battle Angels vs. Tor High School Shooting Stars
This is the Battle Angels' game to lose, and with the duo of Carl and Hancock operating at a high level, it's not likely they'll miss.

Summary: The Fog Wall have made it! A shutout victory over the Sand Vipers - who have fallen on hard times this season with Reece Santos struggling at Quarterback - gave them the sixth win that they needed, and although the Royal Purple made things interesting, it's Tihon Elite Academy heading to the Gold for the Title Game. Southern Urrheddiao raced out to a 33-9 lead and never looked back in the matchup against the Surfers, and Senior Quarterback Bernice Draymond is eager to play postseason ball.

MVP: Southern Urrheddiao High School Senior Quarterback Bernice Draymond (2,913 yards passing, 19 touchdowns, 8 interceptions; 1,013 yards rushing, 8 touchdowns) - The best dual-threat Quarterback in this class, Draymond is big (6' 8", 230 lbs), knows how to run through contact, and also knows when to slide. She can struggle with the deep ball, but the fact that you can never tell if she is going to throw the ball or tuck it and run makes her a true nightmare to scheme against.

Conference Championship Game: Southern Urrheddiao High School Gold vs. Tihon Elite Academy Fog Wall
The Fog Wall have the better team on paper, but the Gold's Quarterback-Wide Receiver combination is better. Which upstart team will come through in the clutch and go on to the next round?

Summary: In what happened to be a warmup for the Conference Title Game, the Robots handled the Geomancers with ease, as Onwuatuegwu found Kuma Sandt, Uriah Anyar, and Matthias Drakk for a touchdown apiece, and the Geomancers could not capitalize on how they won the first matchup back in Matchday Five. The Spectrum, the Fireworks, and the Spectral Monks will be disappointed that their try to overcome their opposition fell short, but sometimes, that's just how the season ends.

MVP: Vitoron School of Charge Junior Quarterback Mtupeni Onwuatuegwu (3,891 yards, 32 touchdowns, 4 interceptions) - Onwuatuegwu is the highest touted Junior Quarterback in Chromatika; the southpaw is very methodical, accurate, and doesn't make many mistakes. She had a large number of weapons as part of the Robots' arsenal, but her accuracy is something that she has built up, not what's given by the receivers.

Conference Championship Game: Vitoron School of Charge Robots vs. East Omnio High School Geomancers
It's the Robots and the Geomancers once again, and the Geomancers will get another crack at Onwuatuegwu. The Robots' stable of receivers should be too much to handle, but Lance Ott would love to play some District ball.

Summary: Remember when the Runners were handling things so well? With the Cruisers barely surviving the onslaught from the Bears - Mikayla Anne scored in the final seconds for the win - the Runners' twenty-point win over the Drills ended up not mattering. After a subpar start, it's the Masterminds that will host the Conference Title Game, as Peter Rundstead has the team playing well, and the offense is doing just enough.

MVP: Wirr Tsi School for the Gifted Senior Strong Safety Paul Rundstead (74 tackles, 4 sacks, 5 forced fumbles, 8 interceptions, 2 defensive touchdowns) - A jack of all trades, Rundstead was used all over the field, and saw plenty of results. A baller.

Conference Championship Game: Wirr Tsi School for the Gifted Masterminds vs. Hanai Central High School Cruisers
Making it here is great for the Cruisers, but the Masterminds have been playing at such a high level in the last few games. Rudy Sai has started to get his game going, and Josip Hradjic is a player that could really make the difference out there. Expect a physical game.

Summary: The Dread squeak by in their regular season finale, but the Terror utterly throttle the Defenders to a win by over 50 points, declaring their intention to win the Conference. Senior Quarterback Mark Hansoff scored six touchdowns in the rout, and it's going to be fascinating to see if that's enough momentum heading into the game against the Dread.

MVP: South Chromia High School Senior Quarterback Mark Hansoff (3,201 yards, 28 touchdowns, 10 interceptions) - Hansoff is the southpaw with a huge deep arm - most of his touchdowns were beyond 30 yards. He did have some inconsistent stretches, but has really heated up in the second half.

Conference Championship Game: The Chromatik Institute vs. South Chromia High School
The Dread are just a step away from their goals this season - but the Terror have looked like a new team as of late. Mark Hansoff has a lesson to teach Raul Sébastien Sanchez, and it's likely he'll succeed.

Still, the Martyrs returned to their winning ways, and look like one of the best programs in the country.

MVP: Franscesca Larriet-Cortes High School Senior Wide Receiver Enox Silverman (105 catches, 1,491 yards, 19 touchdowns) - The Transfer looks solid with the Martyrs. Silverman is a bit smaller in height, but has great burst off the line and clutch factor in big games.
