Sign-up and OOC Thread
Welcome to the OOC and Signups thread for the World Stage Rally Championship, a NationStates motorsport series based on its real world equivalent series: the World Rally Championship (WRC). The WSRC attempts to bring the same engaging and player friendly format of the World Grand Prix Championship (WGPC) to stage rally.
This thread is dedicated to signups and OOC discussion of WSRC season 2. The series will be scorinated utilizing The Racing Scorinator, minimally adapted for use outside of a circuit racing environment.
Signups are open for drivers, teams , and rallies. Team signups will be evaluated and teams will be offered entry based on various factors, including number of driver signups, number of team signups, and NS Sports RP history.
To sign up for the coming season, read the information below and fill in one of the signup forms. Everything you need to know is written below. If you find anything confusing or unintuitive, you can use this thread as an OOC discussion thread, or you can send me a telegram or Discord DM.
Current deadlines: RP thread opens on June 6th, team signups close on June 13th, and the season starts/the calendar is finalized on June 24th
It's important for participants to have a look at all the information below.
Things to Know (RP-ing Notes)
The WSRC will emulate the format and dynamics of the World Grand Prix Championship. Users will be able to sign up events, teams, and drivers, the latter as free agents, and will be encouraged to RP the stories of their competitors throughout the competitive WSRC season to attain, maintain and increase their RP bonuses and improve their chances of scoring good results. Event hosts and participants alike will have a unique chance to explore the nations of the multiverse through the WSRC, racing across spectacular landscapes, getting in touch with local cultures, experiencing the racing atmosphere created by the fans, and visiting landmarks along the way.
The scorination of the WSRC will be undertaken using The Racing Scorinator, originally intended for use in track racing disciplines, but successfully adapted to stage rally. Results will be published on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, every week.*

Signup Forms
DRIVERS
Every user may sign up a maximum of THREE drivers – no more than TWO per nation. Every driver starts off as a free agent, meaning they are not affiliated to any team. Teams sign drivers via roleplay in the RP thread. I implore users to consider keeping off-forum negotiations at a minimum, to enrich engagement in the signup period process.
The more RPing you do with your driver, the likelier your driver will be signed by a team, and the higher your RP bonus. The higher your RP bonus, your driver is likely to be faster and more consistent on the stages—and will likely remain on their team.
To sign up a driver, fill in the following form:

RALLIES
Each user may sign up a maximum of TWO rallies from either puppets or their main nation. If a user chooses to submit two events based in the same nation, only one of the two would be considered for selection. The number of events in a season will depend on the amount of submitted events, but will be between seven and nine.
Signing up a rally is not a guarantee that it will be used in the upcoming WSRC season.
Instead of providing a circuit map, as in WGPC, signups will require a banner or logo for the rally, like this, this, or this. It needn't be extremely fancy, but it must indicate the name of the event. It isn’t necessary to provide a detailed itinerary of your rally or a stage map, but should you choose to do so, please do not use any real-life rally maps or (immediately recognizable) stage names.
Rallies will be held across three in-character and RL days. Each day of competition is called a leg; rallies will contain three legs. Shakedown (which determines the start order) and Leg 1 will be held on Friday, Leg 2 on Saturday, and Leg 3 on Sunday.
In your rally signup, you must indicate the average length of the stages in each leg, plus the length and average speed of the single shakedown stage, used only for qualifying. The resultant number of stages will be assigned by the scorinator*. The maximum permitted average length of the stages of a leg is 60km.
*To calculate the number of stages a rally will have, divide 150 by the average length of the stages in your leg and round UPto the nearest whole number; if the answer is a whole number, add 1 (for instance, if the average length is 60, 150/60 = 3 stages. If the average length is 30, 150/30 = 5+1 = 6 stages, and so on).

TEAMS
Anyone is welcome to enter a team, although your team may not make the start line depending on various factors including demand. Your team begins with no drivers attached to it – you have to sign them from the pool of free agent drivers, and you can do so in the RP thread.
The more RPing you do with your team, the higher your RP bonus. The higher your RP bonus, the better your team is likely to perform, and the more likely a driver is to sign with them.
Submitting an image of the car of your team is not necessary, but if you wish to do so, I implore that you make sure the car template you have chosen to use is a rally car—not rallycross, not touring car—and I encourage you (less emphatically) to choose a four wheel drive vehicle’s template. This is for immersion purposes.
