Signups updated! Also, approximately 28 hour warning for host bids if anyone wants to challenge StrayaRoos.

I do have one question for the host: do you feel that 3 games (4 team group round-robin) is a sufficiently long group stage to reward those who RP and not reward those who don’t, since the baseball scorinator is a bit more random?

Well now that you say that i do realize that it is more random (i.e my WBC53 Series VS Kohnhead) so i will think about a double round robin or an series format in addition to this for the Allocation of groups i have decided to use that nation's IBSXV Result for the Pot, also if we do not reach 24 i will be using either an Preliminary round or 2 group stages

If you are using a series format -- you don't seem to have decided, less than 24 hours before we vote on your bid -- how will you create the group stages? Do you have any familiarity with using xkoranate's table generator function?

I also do have a couple of questions about the presented bid.

First, I'd like you to clarify what system you will use in the group stages. At various points, you mentioned single- and double-round robin as well as a series format. Which one is it?

Second, your bid includes a single-elimination knockout bracket. Would this remain the case even if you decide to switch to a longer group stage?

Third, is there any particular reason your tiebreakers have "Runs For" as the first tiebreaker? That strikes me as very odd and unusual.

Fourth, going back to an earlier question by Hannasea that you left unanswered; you seem to intend to apply RP Bonus for quality and quantity in equal amounts. Would you be able to provide a link to a roleplay of yours showcasing either quality or quantity that you would believe to be sufficient for maximum bonus?

Edit: Fifth, you earlier mentioned the randomness of a WBC53 series in order to justify your decisions. That WBC was not scorinated with the formula that you are proposing. What formula do you think you intend to use?

As it stands, I can not support this bid in good conscience.

United Adaikes
Host Bid

Format
20 and 24 are the ideal numbers.

For 20 participants (that is, the 2 puppets will be withdrawing), there will be 4 groups of 5 with a single-matchday scorination every 48 hours. The top 2 teams in the group will proceed to the double-elimination playoffs. The tournament will run for 20-22 days (8 days for the Group Stage, 12-14 days for the playoffs), including the off-days (days with no scorination).

For 24 participants, there will be 4 groups of 6 with a single-matchday scorination every 48 hours. The top 4 teams in the group will advance to the single-elimination playoffs. The tournament will run for 18 days (10 days for the Group Stage, 8 days for the playoffs), including the off-days (days with no scorination).

If this bid wins, there will be a 48-hour moratorium for either (a) the participants from the 2 puppet nations to withdraw from the signups, (b) two more participants will be signing up (regardless if it's from a puppet nation or another main nation), or (c) we remain at 22.

If we remain at 22 participants, there will be 2 groups of 11 with a double-matchday scorination every 48 hours. The top 6 teams in the group will advance to the double-elimination playoffs, with the top 2 teams having a bye in the playoffs' first round, as can be seen in the image below. The tournament will run for 24-26 days (10 days for the Group Stage, 14-16 days for the playoffs), including the off-days (days with no scorination).
Image

The maximum number of total days in a tournament with a double-elimination playoffs format (coming from another 2 days in the playoffs) is for another day of the championship game if the winner of the first championship game is the team from the loser's bracket.

Ties are broken in the following order:
a. Wins
b. Head to Head Wins
c. Head to Head Runs Differential
d. Overall Run Differential
e. Coin flip

Scorination
The latest xkoranate (v0.3.3) will be used, with the Adjusted NSFS3 formula not showing period-by-period results.

Cut-off time will be at 7:00 PM ET but shall extend when requested. Upon implementation of DST, the cut-off will move to 8:00 PM ET.

RP Bonus
The RP bonus shall be cumulative across the tournament duration (no degrading of RP bonuses). I will also give a roster bonus worth a total of a two-day RP bonus.

Host info
All games from the group stage up to the playoffs are played in Thraproy, United Adaikes. United Adaikes is a large-sized nation with a temperate broadleaf forest climate. Thraproy, a region of the United Adaikes, is a separate large group of islands and has been transformed and called by the national federal government as the country's Sports Capital. All groups shall have a designated baseball stadium. Steskia is the capital of Thraproy, where the primary sports stadiums are located. Steskia is in the southwestern part of Thraproy. Wrarnerbadshot, the city in the north of Steskia, is where the Adaikesian culture thrives and significant landmarks are seen. The Thraproy International Airport is also located in Wrarnerbadshot.

Host Experience
I have no previous experience in NSSport, aside from my domestic (professional and collegiate) leagues and the football friendlies. As an inexperienced host, I am always willing to be guided by the veteran hosts and players of NSSport.

1.i've decided Double Round Robin
2.it'll stay the same
3.I just felt it would work like other sports such as gridiron and Football
4.i don't have one on that level (As Yet)
5.I'll change it to the Other Baseball File on Xkoranate

StrayaRoos, the main job of a host is reading and grading RPs. My serious suggestion to you would be to get some experience writing roleplays before you ask to judge others'. After scorinating yet another tournament in which you didn't RP at all, I can't see myself being very excited at entering a tournament run by you.

All right, it's time for host voting! My apologies for the delay. At the moment, we have one host bid, from StrayaRoos. Therefore, your options are:

1 - Accept the bid from StrayaRoos
2 - Re-open bids

All nations besides StrayaRoos (and puppets San Isidro Labrador and Dotivija) are eligible to vote. Host vote will remain open until Sunday night at 11:59 EST, but will close earlier if a clear majority is established.

The results of the host vote are as follows:

1. Accept the bid from United Adaikes: 9
2. Accept the bid from StrayaRoos: 1
3. Re-open bids: 1
4. Abstain: 0

Therefore, United Adaikes has been chosen as the host of IBS XVI and all decisions regarding the tournament are theirs. Congratulations!

Thank you to those who voted for my bid. I will do my best to bring another quality IBS just like we had before.

While we have now reached my optimum number of signups at 24, we have 21 main nations and three (3) puppets signing up. I highly discourage puppet signups from an already signed-up nation at this point.

Nova Anglicana Lions
San Isidro Labrador Jornaleros (puppet of Nova Anglicana)
South Newlandia U21s
StrayaRoos U18 Young Emus
Quebec and Shingoryeo U22s
Super-Llamaland U19s
TJUN-ia U21 Batting Cubs
Buccaneer Pirates (Kriegiersien)
United Adaikes Hawks
Dexterra Beagles
Abanhfleft Revolution All-Stars
Xanneria Maroons U23
Araznan Rangers
Segeltorp Association of Friends - 'The Corsairs' (Prosaic Union of Gnejs)
Eshialand U21s
Dreamcliff Blizzard (Huron League)
CubeLand Slashers
Lower Pottsylvania Platypuses
MCC Cricketers (Corridor of Uncertainty)
BLP Neptun Taru (Srednjaci)
Cassadaigua U18s
BC Dotivija City U18 (Dotivija, puppet of Srednjaci)
Sevendia Sevens (puppet of South Newlandia)
The Aháàng Excellencies (Zaambate Te Ahaa)

To encourage more main nations to join, I will be closing signups by March 2, 2022, at 9 PM ET. It will close earlier if at least three main nations sign up before the said date.

If we have additional main nations signing up, we will remove the puppet entries in the following order:
-Sevendia Sevens
-San Isidro Labrador Jornaleros
-BC Dotivija City U18

After closing signups, I will immediately create the Everything thread, with the first matchday happening three (3) days after its creation.
